The government shouldn't pretend as if they haven't heard about us!
Nasir El rufai in a message was talking to the president about us...he said a group of graduates have started mobilizing themselves to look for ways of combating
unemployment in Nigeria.
Weeks after this the national budget was forwarded to the National Assembly by the coordinating minister okonjo iwela. But the budget is so filled with mouth watering promises of all sorts which focused more on job creation. Earlier the senate stated that it may not appropriate funds for the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, in the 2014 Budget, if ministers and heads of agencies involved in the programme fail to appear before it to defend how they have handled projects and funds allocated to the SURE-P in this year’s budget. After the rumor about the 500billion naira sure P money missing. Dr Christopher Kayode the chairman of sure P resigned, and it was senate Vs NNPC and till now its still a mystery how Naira in the bank grew wings.
This is just to remind the government to pay more attention to the faithful implementation of the budget. “Government should ensure that the budget is implemented to the letter. At least they wrote it themselves if not they just successfully triggered the adrenaline which is already pumping in the veins of the naijagradutes and the youths in general.

Goldenboy007: Good intention but some questions have not been addressed. Unemployment is a temporary situation and this factor would make defining membership difficult. So boss what happens when you or any of the officials get employed lets say tomorrow?
The name sounds catchy right...that's just to get the attention we need
We have decided at the first meeting in Lagos to change it to association of Nigerian graduates Against Unemployment
And that the name we are going to registered with!
So it covers both the employed, underemployed and employed!

By the way would you the graduate who is looking for work do work, that has nothing to do with your degree? or are you hell bent on getting into your profession immediately after graduation.

The punch newspaper on the 27th of september 2013 featured a write up titled "Nigerian Jobless graduates inaugurates online association" which started on www.niraland.com with 250 posts & 24207 views. The first meeting took place at the university of Lagos sport centre. The second meeting ogun state chapter took place at the National Labour congress secretariat ,leme, Abeokuta the Ogun state capital.
The agenda of the meeting focused on getting trustees for the registration who Are not politician or clergymen but technocrats that have come to the limelight through hard work and are very respectable in the society. Some members raised the issue of some politicians like Pat Utomi and Wole shoyinka who are politicians yet true Nationalist and due to this we tried amending our constitution to restrict the trustees to the constitution and make them realise it is a privilege and not a right and the association mustn't be used for any personal, political, ethnic or clerical ambition. One of the members from ogun state Ambrose also suggested the association work on news worthy personalities. After much debate and deliberation the house finally agreed to set up guidelines for the enforcement of the constitution on all members and trustees and it goes thus
"The association is not bound to dictatorship or authoritarian rule of any trustee or executives except as stated in the constitution".
"The association shall not be lord by political, religious or ethnic gains"
Ogun State chapter executives were appointed and they are as follows below.
State coordinator -- Ayoola babalola 07031310646.
State secretary-- Awosanya Paul. 08106348808. Asst state secretary-- Ambrose Ohonmele. 08033626637. P.R.O-- Alani Maroof 08027202531. P.R.O. Aina olusegun. 08066214884.
Head of media, Idowu adekunle. 08053023004.
Also, in moving the house forward, it was suggested to go to tertiary institutions and NYSC CDS groups to sensitize upcoming graduates. The meeting was adjourned at 3.50pm by Ehis Abuya thanking all present and wishing them a safe trip to their various destinations.

Agriculture / Re: Open Letter To The Minister Of Agriculture Over Ban Of Rice In 2015 by ehixking(m): 9:27am On Oct 20, 2013
The rate at which every household in Nigeria consume rice is very high, use it for almost all social functions and its of great socio economic impotance in a country like Nigeria.
If truely the minister wants to ban importation of rice we should by now have billions of stores of rice in Megatones everywhere in Nigeria..
Agriculture / Re: Open Letter To The Minister Of Agriculture Over Ban Of Rice In 2015 by ehixking(m): 12:59am On Oct 19, 2013
@realdeals...
You are indeed very correct but have U read the post well?
If U have U would definately see where I asked "what machinery has he/has been put in place so that the rice we produce locally would be sufficient for 150 million Nigerians"!!
China did exeactly this without proper planning and the result was disastrous!!
Its a good idea, a fabulous initiative if it won't be politicized and the minister himself start selling rice in 2015
Who Are the farmers in charge now, have they employed gradutes to participate in the process or is the rice issue like that of PHCN that would be privatised?
We the Nigerian association of unemployed graduates want to know is doing what, when and how, what machinery are we putting in place to ensure by 2015 we have food to eat because rice is "the only food we have in Nigeria", its the only food our children know!!!
This is an initiative that should have employed over a million Nigerians now if something like this must happen in Nigeria
Why are we not hearing anything?
Thanks
Agriculture / Open Letter To The Minister Of Agriculture Over Ban Of Rice In 2015 by ehixking(m): 11:12am On Oct 16, 2013
Whose to be blamed for Unemployment?
During campaigns they seems to sound confident and know the right things to do and say !
Refineries are been built by our politicians out side the country on the daily
Our textile industries are not working anymore
Agriculture is on the decline

For now it seems its only the minister of Agriculture that's really working, but for policies and agendas to work in a country like Nigeria we need proper project planning!!!
The minister of Agriculture says he would stop the importation of rice into Nigeria in 2015
That's the reason rice is very expensive today( to discourage the producers from Thailand and malaysia) and Nigerians to purchase the locally made rice
Its a very good idea since we would have to produce our rice ourselves and get nigerians employed

But abeg help me ask Mr. Minister, if he really want to do this, ask Dr Akinwunmi Adesina if he has started producing rice that would be enough to feed about 170million nigerians? Has he put machinery in place to take care of that!!
Just one state in the north cannot produce all the rice the entire country will consume
Stop deceiving us and get us engaged in production

When china did this years back, 10 million people died of starvation, can't we learn from that?
Ban of rice is good but let's start producing, we need to see the farms- who are the farmers? Or has it been given as a contract again to some of our big men to make money off us? This is a national project won't graduates be needed to man various offices and sections?
Rice is our only food, Nigerian children can't do without it
We love the initiative
Let's start producing what need to eat in 2015 now
Minister of Agriculture
Save our souls-
Don't politicise the initiative! Its time to start asking our ministers and public office holders questions
you were invited from abroad to do this and if you don't like you have promised......
You are just trying to wake up the sleeping giant in Nigerian unemployed graduates and youths!!
When your children see this let them show it to you

Please fellow Nigerian graduates we don't need all these discouraging comments now! All we need is your support, advice and prayers!
The meeting is going round the whole of Nigeria, its not a south west thing alone, don't forget that those that make up t he bulk of the executives are not employed
We have no sponsor or support from anybody yet
We are trying the best way we can, we don't have the resources to start moving about from states to state
That's why we've been tryna move to where we would have to spend less on accomodation and transport
NAUG is a means of creating jobs for ourselves first across the federation before we think of doing any other things
The excos have sent letters to so many organisation and even so many have written to us for partnership
FAO of the united Nations
IITA
USAID
NUJ
NLC
Has given their consent all they want from us now is our coordination and registration to make every other thing legal
We've sent letters to some many that haven't even acknowledge the receipt of our letters
The purpose of this association is to look for ways forward!!
Most people think this is an avenue to collect money from the federal government and share-- that's a lie,
Let keep doing what's in our capacity
if we stop this struggle now what will be our benefit
Our children won't be better off and won't even forgive our generation for not doing the right thing when we ought to have!!
So please NAUG is not for any political ambition, its not a zonal thing--in short its a melting pot of tribes and races all one in love!
Residents of Ogun state should come instead of tongue lashing the excos come and let's hand over ogun state to you! Come and coordinate your state of residence yourselves!
Thanks

Well I took note of only these lines

Accepted!, But your gra-gra don dey too much, wetin na, shey na forever you go dey unemploy?

grin

Which?

Accepted, but not in this direction... Instead of you mobilizing to form this association, think of what you can all do after mobilizing, send delegates to powerful people(ëmonetarily) that can help: T.Y Danjuma, Rochas Okorochas, to name few...the can empower you(not violently).

There is nothing new under this world, but ways of doing things are only new
Is not a new thing there is money in this country, but ways to get it must be new.
Period.
Thanks for the correction, it has been modified already!
If Ahmedkola has been following us all along you should know the reason for coming together is not for violence, don't corrupt peoples mind please!!Read and understand before commenting, this post is for interested people only,we are coming together to look for a way forward
Moreover we posted a tread requesting for suggestion about trustees for several weeks you didn't mention any then And those politicians you've mentioned No thanks those are not the kind of people we need !
Thanks for the correction still....

We started this association in good fate
We've been hailed and we've been criticised
We've been up and we've been down
But always keep it in mind that the only time a man fails is when he falls down and refuse to stand up and move ahead
They said we would be an emblem of mockery of our long awaited democracy so we can't get registered
Others asked which is more of mockery the Unemployment rate of the masses
Or registering the association
Some even took it to the extreme asking us to stop blabbing on social media and act by declaring a mass protest in 5 major towns and city across the federation thereby holding the country into a standstill for days- because they believe that's the only way the government can listen to our poor righteous and humble plea!!
To discuss the way forward and since as graduates we understand that our freedom of Association is legitimate
We hereby call on all graduates across the federation
All under employed graduates and all those who believe in the struggle against unemployment
We invite the press(Newspaper and outside interviews only) to be part of our next meeting holding in Abeokuta Ogun state on friday the 18TH of october.

Have you ever prayed for any of your children, wife or family member to take that kind of job!

Working in a farm from monday to saturday
Don't forget because u live on the farm, if there should be an attact or something happening to your birds at night or on a sunday won't u go and put the place in order ?are they paying you for 24 hours?

The place is in a bush and even the so called indians don't live there
To work do you have to train yourself or pay for training?
As a graduate one should be employed as an executive officer not as a driver, so your work would include driving and marketing
So what your job discribtion?
Do they even give employment letter anymore?

If you feel its ok or the person in question is lazy then go take the job or pay for your children to get those jobs

Every Nigeria has something doing believe me but that not enough am telling you my brother that after graduating
You left your certificate in the cupboard and bought one sewing machine and stat sewing with it- why did you waste precious yearss in the university when you know u want to be a tailor.
The money u wasted getting formal education would have bought you more machines!!
And tell me how your machine would rent a shop for you,pay your childrens school fees, pay PHCN bill, water, food, security
Think outside the box brother

NFS Bob: Evry1 dat commented have spoken well on dis issue. My only concern right now is the exploitation of the nigerian workforce by foreigners especially the lebanese and indians. I worked for a coy called indepco @ victoria island. We work on saturdays, they never promote the local staffs, dey falsify douments of expatriate quotas τ̅☺ the govt, dey bring in quacks from their home country and dey pay them huge salaries starting 4rm $9000 per month excluding house, car and health allowance, and they treat their local staffs like shit, dey don't give overtym, if u re sick, dey might wanna sack u. I had a colleague who gave birth with C-Section, with d little I know abt labour laws, she is meant τ̅☺ get @ least 2months free and
considering hw she gave birth, she needed τ̅☺ dress her c-section, u won't believe that her jordanian boss threatened τ̅☺ sack her if she didn't come bak τ̅☺ work without little or no consideration for her health. I know that sum pple will say that @ least I had a job. I just wanna sensitize pple advocating for protest that d problem isn't just about unemployment, also hw the workforce ll be treated when employed. It is so bad that when this same coy wanted τ̅☺ undertake an investment in Ghana, when dey were given the labour laws dey would have τ̅☺ adhere τ̅☺ aespecialy on staff welfare, dey b acked off. because they knew dey couldn't exploit dem ova dere. God help us in dis countryb

then you wonder why you are Unemployed

keep having that mindsight, OP

Why do people keep talking like this because they were only fortunate no to be in our shoes
You might be born with a silver spoon someone else wasn't
You may have a link somewhere whike your neighbour doesn't

You talk like this because you have not been in Nigeria for a while
Because all the gocverment in power during their campaigns
Always promise employment for youth and these are the reasons we voted them in..
Welcome back to Nigeria
Our problem is that we find it hard to quetion the government
The resources we have in Nigeria belongs to us all
So if we demand somethings like employment its Never a sin
