real-teflon: On behalf of the association, the executives shall meet and the secretary is going to give a report of the ways forward The site should be ready in less than a week from now So we don't allow all these politicians and even the government frustrate our effort This is not going to be another group that would just come up and go just like that! Our approach must be different and am banking on Nigerian graduates to come as one and join in the struggle |

Please we really need to change the notion that this group is one that would have to be violent before our voices are heard!!NO!!! In fact all we are preaching is peace and prosperity for our great nation! A graduate that can't feed himself talk less of renting a room in Nyanyan is violent already because he needs to pay rent and make a living. There was a trend on Nairaland some weeks back that reads "Female UNILAG Graduate, Chioma, Caught Leading Robbery" And those with numerous SINS were the First to cast a stone. I strongly believe she has done nothing bad because she must eat...she is hungry and frustrated. I believe chioma would have applied for jobs in IMMIGRATION,NEMA,NCEMA,NPFS,IITA,FRSC,NDDC,NATIONAL ASSEMBLY,GTB,ECOWAS,U.I,AIRFORCE,NAVY,MINISTRIES of all sorts,MR BIGs or professor smalls or whatever.....without getting one, I believe she would have joined this association wholeheartedly instead of risking her life. Till present no one has offered her a job, maybe she's gonna rot in jail-no one knows. CONGRATS to the small boy caught in an aircraft trying to abscond abroad- he has been giving scholarship (for what!!) For him to finish school and join the league of jobless youth? No never that!!! Am sure a boy with this kind of heart would be more terrible after graduating without a job! And there are so many of kind scattered all over the place, walking the street without sole on there feet,no food to eat nor water on the table,no cloth to wear Till we come out and make this association a reality so many Chioma's would rob banks and kill people, graduates would beg to work as able-bodied men(not executives). Lebanese and indian would offer us peanuts on our land! Its either you are wise or otherwise Good Morning my people!!!!!!!!!! National coordinator Ehis Abuya 07030717445 2 Likes |

kemtol: We need to look at this old issue of unemployment in a new way, not simply for today but to make our tomorrow more rewarding. A saying goes thus" as you lay your bed, so you lie on it". We need to start getting it right. Cos architects cannot renovate it, business can't incorporate it, churches can't inculacate it, developers can't innovate it, engineers can't calculate it, goverment can't legislate it, judges can't adjudicate it, lawyers can't litigate it, politicians can't appropriate it, scientist can't formulate it , technicians can't can't generate it , only YOU can ORCHESTRATE it. It begins with YOU and ME. Together WE CAN ACHIEVE it.Take a bold step today, support NAUG today byfollowing us on our twitter, facebook, nairaland and whatsapp pages. Together let's fight job sales and ban importation and make our leaders accountible to us in terms of job provision so as to make NIGERIA a more rewarding, more compelling and more fulfilling place for us and generations unborn. I just received a call from Mr christopher epkeyoung (hope I got d spelling) who has a master degree in Educational Management and also his first degree from university of Ibadan(special Education) He graduated " 5years" ago and has dabble into various businesses....he worked as a primary school teacher in those "Mumu" private primary school(15k per month),taught student lesson in his room, once had a poultry,he tried making pure water, But his business collapsed and had a great fall like humty dumpty Why.....No enabling environment 1)He rented a land 2)He has no stable means of power and spends a lot on fuel 3)Roads network to transport his good are bad 4)Government policies ain't working for him 5) Police would extort money from him When he tried cassava farming was worse than anyone could ever imagine cos he couldn't even feed himself while waiting for his farm to mature This association is his only option Now I think this is an eye opener for those that keep talking about entrepreneurship Even in elementary economics,to start up anything we must first put in place 1)Land 2)Capital 3)Labour Before even talking about entrepreneurship Do u know what's called risk and uncertainty in business...so if he looses in d long run who bears the risk 2 Likes |

[quote author=nukoduss]Hmmmm Nice idea, kindly take note of this Our leaders are could in disorganised this with the introduction of politics into the group 2-i suggest the Name of the association shld avoid "Unemployement" becos when the govt notice This struggle... What they will do is that whom ever that happen to be the president will be given A job. Before u understand the whole struggle will be dash 3- qualification for appointment and membership should be well spell out Is it for only unemployed or already employed. If the secretary is unemployed before his/her appointment What will be his faith after the person is employed while holding the post 4- I will appreciate if the association can choose the fight against "contract job" as her Number 2 oblectives I bet u Contract Job is a parasite that demoralise our worth in the labour Mkt This issues of Contract job is been arrange by some cable just to reap from where they did not sow Many ppl were employed today with the Name tag of "Contract Job" I pray that God will exterminate Whom ever that is ready to scuttle this idea before the person make his way to the Venue of the Program Thank u |

Our hearts shall one day be filled with joy Let's us all have the heart of a solider ready for battle I strongly believe without doubting that whatever will be will be only with efforts and perseverance in the face of adversity!! Our dreams of a better life, our dream of building a nation...is a task that must be done In those days things like this would have warranted arrest Yet we came out despite everything We are not anti-government We only criticise in a constructive manner Our constitution is on the way Our trustees won't be an issue because the response has been great States should get ready to host our true compatriots- soldiers of the same struggle Thanks to you all ................cheers Ehis Abuya |

I can still remember very vividly a song we used to sing back then in church............ "Faith of our fathers, living still, In spite of dungeon, fire and sword; O how our hearts beat high with joy Whenever we hear that glorious Word!" This is the songs our children would sing for us if we can fight these evil called unemployment By asking to be productive in our society We are indirectly asking the government to be responsible, transparent and accountable to its citizens Malaysia used to be unproductive and economic activity was really nothing to write home about in fact Nigeria donated to them their first Palm tree Why can't we ask them how they made it that far in just a couple of years! Did they achieve that while corruption was still the other of the day? Did their government keep encouraging entrepreneurship without enabling environment? ...today they import palm oil into Nigeria Let's think about making nigeria into a highly productive and industrialised economy Let's involve the youth in mechanised agriculture Word on the streets (government should take note) "Make una dey chop una oye(oil) money just give us peanut make we take am plant cocoa and cassava" National Coordinator in the struggle against unemployment in Nigeria Ehis ABUYA |

dougivilla: While I like to congratulate you sir, on this noble idea and the success of the inaugural meeting and pray for greater strenght on you and all others in this 'movement', I, with all due respect consider it a fraud for a gainfully employed graduate or a graduate-entrepreneur with control over a sizeable staff strenght to be a member of an association of unemployed graduates. An association conotes 'similarity'. You don't have okada riders in bakers' association or NUPENG members in NANS etc. Thanks so much....Noted |

Did you know that? 1) Nigeria has plans, agendas and policies that ranks amongst the best in the world 2) The RBDA(which is an imitation of the Tennessee river basin development authority of USA that provided jobs to at least 2million americans), even with this same motive of job creation to employ youths, make nigeria self sufficient in fish production, provide water for irrigation to rural farmer and provide electricity But the last time I was in Ogun-osun river basin in Abeokuta what I saw was different 1)Workers sleeping, 2)Pure water production and packaging 3) Dilapidated offices and building 4)Everything in a state of despair Boards after boards and committees after committees would squander money on holding meetings and after the money has been shared into various bank accounts, the amount that gets to the Managing director won't be enough for anything and he also, being a part of the system might just do justice to the money and it goes on and on till....nothing tangible is achieved Until we the youth come out to fight corruption, mismanagement of public funds and stress the need for industrialisation and Agriculture we would keep employing staffs to sleep, ministries won't work and unemployment will increase at a rate we never thought it would. Until we graduates demand our right to build our nation ourselves- graduate would keep taking 10,000 Naira jobs and think that's the end of the world. Ehis Abuya 1 Like |
