Did you know that? 1) Nigeria has plans, agendas and policies that ranks amongst the best in the world 2) The RBDA(which is an imitation of the Tennessee river basin development authority of USA that provided jobs to at least 2million americans), even with this same motive of job creation to employ youths, make nigeria self sufficient in fish production, provide water for irrigation to rural farmer and provide electricity But the last time I was in Ogun-osun river basin in Abeokuta what I saw was different 1)Workers sleeping, 2)Pure water production and packaging 3) Dilapidated offices and building 4)Everything in a state of despair Boards after boards and committees after committees would squander money on holding meetings and after the money has been shared into various bank accounts, the amount that gets to the Managing director won't be enough for anything and he also, being a part of the system might just do justice to the money and it goes on and on till....nothing tangible is achieved Until we the youth come out to fight corruption, mismanagement of public funds and stress the need for industrialisation and Agriculture we would keep employing staffs to sleep, ministries won't work and unemployment will increase at a rate we never thought it would. Until we graduates demand our right to build our nation ourselves- graduate would keep taking 10,000 Naira jobs and think that's the end of the world. Ehis Abuya |

Yinkaolu: Well, you guys have spoken well but always remember that unemployment is not a disease neither is it a curse. And for those that didn't show up because they don't want to associate themselves with the tag" unemployed"...we are not begging for members...its the same name you guys are shying away from that attracted you in the first place. This isn't hiphop so Trying to "Funkify" the name is not the issue but solving the problem at a glance when the name is heard! People already know where we stand for anyway! Its ok because we all have a point. But the idea that some people didn't attend the meeting because of the name is not in anyway reasonable because almost everyone(80%) present on saturday are all employed |

If only the National Directorate of Employment could tell us how they arrived at the conclusion that just 3.3 million Nigerians are unemployed out of a total of 170 million people. If only the National Directorate of Employment could tell us how the census was conducted, and the people that were counted Nigerians need answers to how many youth coppers were retained after service NDE Director-General, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed said the directorate had in October last year introduced the scheme to create jobs as well as “solve the national malaise of mass failure in public examinations’’. According to him, the scheme is aimed at helping candidates with deficiencies in public examinations, such as West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO) and Joint Admissions Matriculation Board(JAMB), to improve their grades through proper coaching. Has he forgotten graduates are jobless Why not help those qualified graduates to get jobs than coaching WAEC and JAMB failures We want to know if there are NDE Co-ordinator in all 36 states of the federation and what they have been doing to solve unemployment!!! Tell us, we need to know Thanks Ehis Abuya |

If rrape victims, gays and lesbians could come out to voice out their minds,my heart bleeds for those that though jobless finds it difficult to identify with a group with the idea of kicking against unemployment The desire to form an association that is aimed at kicking against unemployment commenced yesterday in Lagos despite discouragement by some Nigerians who probably might also be jobless yet decides to "package" their problems They are the CEO's we see on facebook yet they still depend on their parents for recharge cards. "Kendric Tejiro resides in Delta state yet he came down to Lagos, battled with traffic, slept in a church, had very little for dinner and no breakfast the next morning just to attended the first meeting" Barrister ikeri okey took a flight from Imo state left his chambers, his family and clients graced the occasion and returned that same day to Imo state, Oyo-ita effiong came all the way from benin to Lagos despite he's tight schedules Sandra kayero,John odianose came from Ibadan, Dammy from Abeokuta Ogun state , Oni Michael from Sango otta ogun state. Just to mention a few. So many young men and women left their wives, kids and families just to make history Well, all I can say is nothing but every man would reap according to what he sows!!what else or what more do we want from patriotic Nigerians. The meeting was held at Unilag sport centre as earlier announced. It commenced about 10am although we didn't allow the media into the meeting due to the fact that it just the first meeting, offices were assigned to willing and ready member Posts include(all interim) National coordinator Three PRO Two Secretaries Four Mobilisation officers Administrative officers(Facebook, twitter handlers, website and blog managers) We concluded on 3 names to be forwarded to the cooperate affairs commission as the official name of the Association Amongst the criteria for registration includes trustees selection(2 each from each geopolitical zones) which we did and hope to contact them A constitution committee was set aside to work on the constitution and report in 3 weeks A lot of issues were discussed, resolved, added subtracted and we all saw the meeting as a huge step in achieving a socio-economical height in the nearest future. The National coordinator gave a wonderful opening speech which was like a blueprint on which the hinges of the meeting turned. We were blessed by the presence of wise and fast thinking individuals Ayodeji babalola was a great contributor, oyo-ita Effiong indeed is an orator Kendrick Tejiro took everything to another level breaking down plans like he has done the appraisal before,Men were more than women Oni michael added a whole lot of wisdom and experience to the meeting giving several ideas on how to go about tackling our problems in Nigeria. Shomoye Damilola gave the closing remark and the long waited item 7 followed. And I must mention that am not impressed by the Lagosians turn out.... Nigeria is the only country we have Youths must stand up because we are the leaders of tomorrow Its time to come out and claim what's rightfully ours Let's reason together, we have no money and we don't intend soliciting for money at all,our strength and confidence is in our number Let come out in mass and let our voices merge into one and speak in onenes. The world must hear our cry and know what we fighting is a for the betterment of all Nigeria unemployed and under employed graduate. MISSION/VISSION(summary) NB(still working on the constitution) Boosting Agriculture and industrialisation, Ban of any goods that can be produced in Nigeria, Pushing of memorandum to the house of assembly for the payment of unengaged nigerian graduates, Influencing government policies to improve the job market for graduates, kicking against sales of jobs, Kicking against ambiguous and frivolous criteria for job recruitment eg Age, working experience,Tribalism, state of origin,Language, Thanks to all those present and those who couldn't make it because the are far away and those who where unavoidably absent.. How can I describe tomorrow ? How poetic can I be? Who am I speaking for? And who is ready to hear me? I tried so hard to picture tomorrow But my vision looks blury My eyes go teary-minds weary So with the last drop of blood in our tiny veins We shall give it up all but not in vain This is our contribution in building the Nation This is our voices--- a voice Our choices------a choice Our struggle------a struggle So our lives today we shall save to die another day if we fight for it today!! I agree with GAny Amen This piece was extracted from our facebook page Gany Ameen Its a good move, i pray that the initiators' objective would not be redirected. My free professional advice: 1. Dressing code for all meeting should be corporate. 2. Only English Language should be allowed in all forum. 3. No anti-govt song, slogan etc should allowed (at least for now). 4. No insult, name calling etc of any political office holder. 5. Members should be oriented how to talk to the press. 6. The open objective should be " reducing the rate of unemployment in Nigeria" . 7. the Exco should always let the press know that our political leaders are not the problem of unemployment but the policies & their implementations which need change. 8. No support should be welcomed from any political party or its representative (for now). 9. Note that you are all professionals in different fields, act as such - no aluta songs; Do more of writing to the authourity than talking. You can take all this, edit it or leave it but please no one should insult my personality. I pray for the success of your mission. DinhoMVP: Unemployment or bearing the unemployed status is a function of the mind for those of u coming under this sympathy seeking umbrella I pray GOD opens not just ur sight eyes but also the eyes of ur mind so u can comprehend the enormous opportunities and abilities he has deposited right in front of u and also give u the grace to maximally explore and utilise them to great effect then u'll never think of equating urself in the "unemployed" bracket ever again. Thanks a lot But I must say if God has open your sight and the eyes of your mind( like you said earlier) you would have read that the NAUG is just to catch your attention This is a movement against unemployment and even CEO have been identifying themelves with our movement People please read and understand before commenting so at least you won't expose your ignorance to the world |

Good morning to the great people of Nigeria First I would like to commend everyone's effort Just for acknowledging the fact that there is a problem that cuts across every home which is unemployment. If you believe its non of your business since you are employed...well just take a minute and reason fine because most definitely your siblings, cousins, parents, friends or even enemies are affected somewhere close to you. A rich man in the mist of 100's of poor men is a pauper The name NAUG- has gotten the attention I wanted and I thank God for that, Most definitely its going to be changed and please don't just sit in your rooms and start making suggestions about names. Be present at the meeting and voice out your opinions Its an obvious fact that only a person knows where his shoes hurts for those talking about getting something doing,Nigerian youth I beg of you don't listen to these people...its either their fathers are those squandering our money,or they were just fortunate to get a job after school because they know one oga at the top, they mention Mark Elliot Zuckerberg have you forgotten the school he attended? Most nigerians don't even have computer talk less of being a computer programmer! Those guys talking about using ones talent.... I must tell you I have so many writers that have not been published at all, so many talented musicians without money for a demo tape, so many artist that have no galleries,footballers-- no soccer academies, farmers can't afford land, poet, novelist, So many ideas that have ended in the dustbin Mark Elliot Zuckerberg did not go through NEPA problem,ASUU strike bad roads, corruption, tribalism, nepotism, ethnic and religious crisis..he went to the best school in the world...now our ASUU is on strike I would one day like to take people on a tour to Abuja, to a place very close to asokoro called Galadimawa its just a stone throw to aso rock- there is a small part that divides it from each other(Asokoro and galadimawa) Asokoro is like heaven but galadimawa is a living hell..the houses are not arranged? The buildings are closely packed, the roads are not good infact in the rainy season its like a plague, water never runs- no pipes or even a plan for water, the markets are so dirty, food items for sale are packed on the floor, children don't go to school or are half "nnaked" with tattered shorts with their "ppeniss" peeping out ....but yet its close to aso rock...its just a stone throw. Asokoro is beautiful, silent...in short words can't describe how beautiful it is So when those living in Asokoro start saying get something doing, use your talent we that grew up in "Galadimawa" should have a reply for them.. please don't listen to them. And so it is not only in galadimawa its also the same in Mararaba, Nyanya, mpape- also in lagos ajegunle, mushin, In ibadan, bere, Agbowo And so on- its time to take charge . We have our brains to use and not the sword... Let come together and think of moving ahead Thanks Ehis Abuya 5 Likes |

My heart bleeds for you tell us how you lost your job Did you steal the money you used to travel to america and china after losing your job How did you get the money to start importing from china Why import? Can you be creative enough to use your God given talent to cope with NEPA, bad roads, poor network and start producing in Nigeria instead of turning your own fathers land into a dumping ground? 5 Likes |
