AutosRe: Acura MDX Touring Edition (with DVD) For An Astounding N3.4million by EI(m): 9:35am On Jul 10, 2008
nkc,

Danderson's issue is actually with the Acura, not your Passat.

Remember Jenju advertised a sample car about the time I was sealing my deal, where the sample had a darker shade than mine. His confusion if indeed he has not read through the Thread, is quite natural.

PS: We also must understand his caution - quite natural in the circumstance (considering our degraded rare-trust environment), because nkc, fotodaddy and EI (etc) may as well be Jenju's stooges and members of a larger crime ring trying to fleece innocent Nairalanders of their hard earned cash!   lipsrsealed

My personal advise to Danderson:
- I didn't know Jenju from Adam (same with Inspired) before this year. I've not met them live!, but I've many time spoken with and transacted businesses with them , and still believe they are for real!
- Jenju's lawyer is there with you in Abuja, so I suggest you set up a meeting with him (or visit the law firm - seeing is believing!). Except the name of the law firm is a fake, my wife assured me to continue with the transation (in the early days of firming my deal with Jenju), because during the period of her practice in Kano 17-19yrs ago, she had some interactions with the law firm (whose HQ is/was in Kano). She knew the founding partner who incidentally was the first SAN in the whole of the North
- Jenju's lawyer is the Managing partner of the firm now, and that should be enough trust

Guys,

From a close analysis, the colour of the last picture (El's Acura), which is silver ash, was it not contradicting the colour of the first posted MDX; black and also, i taught the vehicle was en-routed to reach the final user but it seems to me that it's on a car stand. Anyway i am taking measures,
Mr Danderson,

I guess you have not followed the Thread closely; maybe saw the originating contribution by poster and jumped to page 5 wink . In between have been four pages and a lot of discussions - please find time and read through   shocked

My color was always the metallic silver from when it was purchased, through when it was prepared for shipping till this minute where it is supposedly at "a car stand"   cool

Fighting back tears, she alleged while narrating her story to The Guardian that she was trapped inside the vehicle with her two children. "It took the intervention of passerby to rescue my children from the car." Chidi-Ogbolu alleged

Explaining further, she said she got a buyer for the SUV recently, adding that "I had to change my mind. Selling the car would have amounted to a sin ,  It is unfair to sell that car to an unsuspecting buyer.

"Your new assurance is not enough for me. As I stated in that letter, the car is a source of nightmares and continuous mental anguish for my family. I reiterate that I have no confidence that the car can safely take me to my destination.

"I formally demand a refund of the sum of N3.2 million being the cost of purchase of the car" said Chidi-Ogbolu.
Wahala dey O!   shocked  shocked  shocked

I'm neither suprised (that Chery products are turning sour) nor shocked (at the Tiggo-based petition).

Chery Motors had an exhibition in my Coy's premises half a year ago and when I raised a few issues, some colleagues (who naturally like many of us, love cheap things) almost ate me up!  undecided

My issues were in respect of total cost of ownership - initial price (cheap, with a catch?!), maintainability/mtce costs, reliability (think about the mental anguish and emotional/psychological trauma Mrs. Ogbolu has suffered  cry; whose actual cost is unquantifiable!) etc.

I couldn't place my hands on it, but something just doesn't give one any comfort thinking about these Chery vehicles; at first I thought it was a simple case of wrongly motivated personal prejudice against many things Chinese.

There must always be a balance between economy and value/reliability. For me, the reliability factor is quite a high priority - only a man who has had moto-troubles like myself in the '90s, can really understand. Because at such instances:
- domestic housekeeping efforts suffer
- dreams in the league of high-fever generated nightmares become more common  embarassed
- anxiety with symptoms akin to being kicked in the gut (sometimes heart palpitation), become common experience, sometimes even for routine runs   angry
etc.

The plus however is that such vehicles revive your spiritual life - more focussed intervention prayers   wink

Incidentally a colleague of mine that lives down my street has a QQ, which he praises to high heavens. Last time we discussed the car, he shared how he travelled the East-West highway with his wife, babies and a friend!
I bow for that kind faith sha   shocked

Siena,

This has been quite an interesting Thread, with a most interesting intro.
Quite some education when making specific purchase decision for cars used outside Nigeria, because it is tough getting useful data on motorway vs. intra-city based mileage content or impacts - except if readers are contemplating going for vehicles used by local transport companies (KSTA, Midwest lines, Crosslines, RTC, Agofure etc.) shocked grin

I see you are impatient with current drift, so let me help stabilise your adrenaline rush wink
I'll proffer some information (note that in NGR you don't get zero mileages for cars delivered outside Lagos), as follows:

Outgoing
Car: 2001 VW Polo Classic 1.6.
Mileage (Km) when purchased: ~600 km Dec 2002.
Mileage (Km) as at now: ~40,000 km.

Current
Car: 2006 Honda Accord.
Mileage (Km) when purchased: ~600 km Dec 2006.
Mileage (Km) as at now: Almost 15,000 km.

Car: 2008 Hyundai Accent.
Mileage (Km) when purchased: 512 km May 2008.
Mileage (Km) as at now: ~1,100 km.

Incoming - is Jenju out there? tongue
Car: 2004 Acura MDX
Mileage (Km) when purchased: ~36,000 km May 2008
