Family › Re: My Wife Gave Me The Shock Of My Life. Help! by Eje2019: 6:29am On Jan 17, 2021 |
Canadianelenu: Recently, the increase in armed robberies and banditry has become a disturbing trend in Nigeria. It is even more horrendous when the men of the underworld not only steal when they attack but will also rape any unfortunate female caught in the invasion.
My wife and I were watching a real life crime documentary one evening and in the documentary, a lady was shot and killed after resisting rape advances from 6 men who invaded her residence.
Fortunately, the criminals were later caught using forensic evidence and paraded by law enforcement. These men were tough looking strongly built men who no doubts would have torn the lady apart if they had succeeded in raping her.
However, the shocker was when my wife of 4 years said, and I quote “she just died for nothing and has caused her family a lot of grief...if it were me, I would just let them have their way and live to see another day”.
Although this sounded very right, it also sounded very wrong at the same time and has since been messing with my head as I cannot get the picture out of my mind. We could both see that they were 6 hefty men and yet she felt she should have................
Ladies, am I over reacting and men, what do you think? How can something feel so right and so wrong simultaneously? Your wife is rightly wrong |

Education › Re: Update On ASUU Review on the suspension of strike by Eje2019: 12:48pm On Nov 27, 2020 |
bahaushe1: No agreement has been reached yet. There maybe an agreement at the end of today's meeting.
What happened last week is that government upgraded her offer to ASUU and the union directed her members to look at the new offer and take resolution on each item. The results from various congresses were collated yesterday and will be presented to government today. This is what will form the basis for any agreement if the results from congresses are in favour of accepting government offer. Otherwise the meeting will be inconclusive.
If the meeting reach an agreement then it will be left for government to start implementing what she promised immediately especially those items I mentioned in my previous post.
Renegotiation has not commenced. Government team has been reconstituted. Renegotiation is an important item in the struggle. It is what will give ASUU members new salary that is due for review. The hope is for renegotiation to be completed and new salary captured in 2021 budget. It may prolong the strike. . so what are the chances that the strike will be called off today sir |

Secondly the people who stole it don’t read news
Thirdly, we on Nairaland are going to set a 5 men panel to look into what really happened. Just give us time to work.
From my findings, it shows that the oba misplaced his staff carelessly. Since no one died at the toll gate lol |
Education › Re: ASUU Strike: Resolution Of ASUU Branches On Fg’s Offer by Eje2019: 2:49pm On Oct 20, 2020 |
samuelpeters: Modified:
Like i said before, I support ASUU 100%. FG has a track record of not fulfilling their promises.
For those asking ASUU about "the money that was given to them in the past". You all should know that ASUU doesn't handle any money directly. If FG disburse any money to universites, the university management (Governing council, VC and others) appointed by the same FG will be in charge. Everywhere you see TETFUND( your lecture theater, seats, lab equipments etal) was one of the struggles of ASUU.
For those shouting " value of education for their school fees". I want you to know that what you are paying is "service charge", your tuition is being paid by FG(so they said ). So if you want real value in education, hold FG!!! They know what to do but will NEVER do it after all, their children are all in the UK,US and Europe. It's left for us to force them into doing the needful. If not, we will continue to graduate mediocres that are not employable or productive. NEVER!!!
in conclusion, ASUU is not the enemy. They are victims of what other nigerians are suffering, which is BAD GOVERMENT!! FG is the enemy!! Do not be deceived!
ASUU wants their earned allowances to be paid(do you want them to work for free?? Are our NASS working for free )! ASUU wants their salaries paid in FULL taking note of their peculiarities! ASUU wants our universites to be on par with other universities in Africa before we start talking of the world ! ASUU wants our graduates to be EMPLOYABLE!!
Unfortunately for we students, strike is the only way ASUU can get FG attention . ASUU is a union of intellectuals, before they went on strike, they have communicated their pains to FG in a gentleman's way. but it seems FG only listens when they go on strike
Support ASUU #EndSARS #Endbadgovernment strike continues |
Education › Re: ASUU To Fg: Why Do You Want To Spend Money On IPPIS When UTAS Is Free? by Eje2019: 6:21am On Oct 20, 2020 |
proffemi: E pele, Mr. Ignoramus with small English. Internet-savvy bunkum? Geez. Must you wield words bigger than you? For your information, my usage is very apt. Here's one definition: an ignorant or stupid person. Have you not shown yourself to be ignorant? Even when a teacher offered to show you evidence to the contrary, you would rather wallow in your ignorance. Says a lot about what sort of student you must have been.
ASUU selfish my foot. TETFund (ETF) was ASUU's idea. Today it is what sustains not just universities but also polytechnics. It is what has allowed the construction of scores of facilities used by students around the country . Non-teaching staff are trained and funded from it. All of these based on the struggle of the same ASUU that twits like you label selfish.
What you need to realize is that the baying of people like you is meaningless, apart from being a source of mild annoyance. You can change nothing, froth as you may. Abacha, Babangida, Obasanjo, they all bowed to ASUU. The present government will too, so don't get your bp raised for nothing is there any possibility that assu will call off the strike this week? |
