Acts 4:11-12
11 KJV:This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 KJV:Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

LET ME EXPLAIN: God has given an open invitation to everybody born into this world to enter heaven through the Corner Stone (Jesus). This passage, explains that it is only through Jesus that men can be saved.

ERRORS PEOPLE HAVE:
1. Many people believe that once you are born in a Christian home and go to church, that you will go to heaven. The answer is CAPITAL NO
2. Many people believed that once you live a good life without knowing Jesus, if you die you will go to heaven. THIS IS ANOTHER LIE FROM THE DEVIL.
3. Many people believed that bible was written for Christians but that's not the truth. Bible was written for mankind and those who follow Christ, read it as manual to understand the teachings of Christ in order to obey God and enter heaven.
NOTE: There are still people who believe in Christ that will not enter heaven because they did not live the way Christ lived (Love & sacrificial life)

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: In my days in the university, some group of Christians who came to our house to preached Christ, told my room mate and I That Jesus is the only way to God, we especially me, got really offended with them, and told them to get out of our house. Do you know why? Because, I told my self that there were many Moslems that were living better and good life more than many Christians.
But the mistake was mine, they didn't say that Christians were the ones that will go to heaven, rather born again Christians.

WHAT AWAITS THOSE WHO REJECT JESUS
1. DEATH
2. SEPARATION FROM GOD
3. HELL & LAKE OF FIRE

REASONS WHY JESUS IS TRULY THE ONLY WAY TO GOD.
1. All men born into this world were born in sin because Adam sinned.....Romans 5:12
2..All men born into this world is already separated from God, whether they are aware or not....Roman 5:12
3. God does not forgive sin without blood. It's so because every one who disobey God by Divine injunction will die.Romans 6:23. Blood represent death, So Jesus presented his blood to God to show that man has paid for his sin by dying. That is why if any one believe that when Jesus died on the cross, he/she died with him, then that person will be saved.
4. Jesus was the only man who lived in this world, the way God wanted humans to live.
5. Jesus is the only man who ever rose from death, as a testimony that those who believe in him will rise to eternal life.

FINAL WORD: I write to you, so that you will stop standing in the wrong path. Believe it now, that only those who believe that Jesus came to this world from God, died for the sins of mankind and they pattern their lives accordingly will see God.

My brother its obvious your sad, and some of us understand. It's difficult growing up being sick, especially incurable sickness.
My advice to you, is to go back to God, because only him can heal you. You have great destiny ahead of you, the enemy have seen God's glory in your life. If you remain bitter towards God, you may end up dying with this stammering, but your reconciliation and acceptance of Jesus into your life, will mark a beginning of your healing. You cannot fight your maker and succeed. I have countless people, I know that God healed of stammering.

Well, am sure we all are aware of the Bible verse that says "the wages of sin is death"
But to my knowledge,I find out that all humans must die and even some wicked people we know still live longer than the ones we call saints.
Sometimes, you will see some wicked people live so long till old age before they die and you will also see some kind hearted people dying young.
If the wages of sin is death,then why do this wicked people live long and why do we believe everyone will still die
I think there is more to this Bible verse than we see it

ANSWER:
Rom.6.23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Eph.2.1 - And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph.2.2 - Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

All mankind were dead in sin according to Ephesians but God revived everyone who came to him through Christ Jesus. It means we were still alive physically but dead to God as a result of sin. Death here simply means; separation from God. Any one who lives in sin is dead to God. He has no relationship with God, neither can he hear or understand the things of God. Every human will die physically if Christ tarry but not every human will die spiritually. Both wicked people and good people die physically but the difference is that the wicked also dies spiritually.

Wages of sin is death also means that the wicked will be tormented forever in the lake of fire: Rev.20.6 - Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Rev.20.15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This is the condition of those who are dead to God, in the word of Jesus. Rev.3.17 - Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Occupying your days with activities will change nothing. Somebody may have been able to stop masturbation in another way which I doubt. This I know for sure, that if you come to Christ Jesus, he would set you free. 2Corithians 5:17, 3:17.
If you desire this freedom as you said, just accept Christ into your life. Dont mind what any body may say agsinst this, this I have seen it worked. But know it that if you genuinely accept Christ, the desire will not stop instantly, but from that day you will receive the power to resist it, because masturbation is a spirit. And as you give yourself to the word and stop every channel through which this feeling might be triggered, such as sensual music, videos and picture, this demonic operation will stop.
I pray for you to receive the strength to take this step by inviting Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour.

My husband has really changed. He is so unemotional and revengeful.

The thing is that Jesus is God, but the father is greater than him. The father sees Him as God and Son. Jesus came from God. He confess in the book of john that just like the father has life in Himself so has He given to the Son to have life. It is this life of God that makes Him self existence. The father gave this life to the Son to also be self existence. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;John 5:26 KJV
Whatever the father does He shows the Son, which shows that everything flows from the father. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.John 5:20 KJV
The SON has his own will but for him the father's will come first because He love the FATHER.
The father has committed all judgement to the Son, and given the Son the power to give life. But the truth is that the Son judgement is right because he does not judge alone. And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The surest way to heaven is to believed and worshipped God alone without any partner, like son or daughter etc. He is alone in His throne of Authority and Honour.

Do righteous deeds and accept that Abraham, Mosses, Jesus, Muhammad etc (Peace be upon them all) are messengers sent to warn mankind. None of them declare himself God, Son or partner to God.
This path has been the same paths of those that will achieve heaven by God grace.

That is where many of you are getting it wrong. I was once there thinking that self righteousness is what God is looking at. In the eye of God the righteousness of man is like a filthy lag.

As a person I believe in one true God, the creator of all things. I do not think that not believing in Jesus will make me not to enter heaven.
Jesus is one of the prophets like Mohammed, but he is not the son of God or God.
I believe that the most important thing is to do what is right even if I don’t believe in Jesus or go to church.
I take care of the poor, clothe the naked, shelter those without roof over them that is what matters most.
These and such statements are in the lips of many people. Some of these people are sincere but sincerely wrong. Lack of knowledge of the word of God is the reason why many are not thinking right. These people have information but not knowledge. Information is facts but knowledge is truth. It is through fearful, sincere and diligent seeking of God that this truth is revealed by God.
There was a certain man in Ceasarea called Cornelius a captain of what was known as the Italian Regiment. Acts 10: 1-48. This man was devoted and feared God but he did not know Jesus. When the Angel visited him in a vision and directed him to send for Peter. It was for the purpose of telling him about Christ. When Peter came to Cornelius he told him about forgiveness of sins which every one who accept Christ will receive. This is what Peter told him. Acts 10:43 KJV To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
This is the same reason you need Jesus to receive pardon for all your sins. God word said in Romans 3:23 KJV; For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Everyman on earth have rebelled against God in one way or the other. Sin is rebellion before God. And we all need forgiveness from God. But for any disobedience to God to be acceptable they must be shedding of blood. This simply means that the penalty for sin against God is death of the sinner. Romans 6:23.
But without the death of the sinner blood will not be shed. But our God is a merciful father and He is full of compassion for His people, this was why he entered into a covenant with the Israelites that through the blood of goat’s and other animals their sins may be forgiven. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
What I am saying is that before God will over look and forgive your sins and mine, blood must be shed. The reason is because the penalty for one single sin we commit against God is suppose to lead to our death. Physical and spiritual death.
This is were Jesus comes in, He died for us all, that whoever believe in Him should not perish. Through His blood we receive forgiveness of sins from every unrighteous work we have done. This was the reason the Angel of God told Cornelius to send for Peter one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ.
God have done away with the old covenant, the shedding of blood of goat’s and calves because the old covenant was not perfect. The new covenant which we enjoy through the sacrifice Jesus made with his body is better and perfect. Hebrews 9:11-15 KJV But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Every man born into this world need Jesus to receive pardon for sins against the almighty. Do not say that your not a Christian or born into a Christian parents.
Let it be clear to you that it is only those who accept Jesus as their Lord and follow him that are Christians indeed. Somebody is not a Christian because the parents believe in Jesus or because he/she go to church.
As regard reasons given by some people why they don’t accept Jesus as their Lord. I want you to know that God recognises good works and rewards those who do good
works but it does not change his word.
For those who believe that doing the right thing is what matters. The truth is that the word of God is the light you need to do what is pleasing to God, if not you will be doing things you may think that are right in the sight of God but may not. Luke 18:19.
You that see Jesus as a prophet, your not completely wrong but the truth is that Jesus is more than a prophet. He is a mediator between God and man. Ephesians 2:18. Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
If you want to see God after you die from this physical body, you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Remember that good work alone will not save your soul. Neither will any other name. Acts 4:10-12.
Repent and ask God now to accept you as His son or daughter and ask Him for forgiveness of all sins you ever commuted in the name of Jesus.

WHO IS CHRIST? IS JESUS GOD?

Dear Holy Spirit help me to explain this mystery in the best possible way I understand it. The FATHER and The SON are one GOD. There is only one God according to the scripture, meaning that the FATHER, SON &SPIRIT are one indivisible, inseparable and united BEING. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord :
Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV. In human understanding, no two things can be one, or said to be inseparable. But it is not so with God. Just look at husband and wife, though two but GOD see them as one. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh Mark 10:7‭-‬8 KJV.
WHO then is JESUS, why is he called the SON of GOD. Now to answer the question of who is JESUS. John 1:1,14, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Its very clear from the scripture above, that before JESUS manifested in this world he has been in existence, he was not an angel if you want to think so, the bible said he was with God and was GOD. He was with the FATHER. Do you know why Jesus called him FATHER? It is because JESUS want to reveal God to us as a loving creator.

There are many preachers of the word who believe that the SON and the FATHER are equal. The SON is GOD and have life in himself just as the father, but the SON at the same time confessed that the FATHER is greater than him and he can not do any thing by himself. I believe that the Father is greater. The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise John 5:18‭-‬19 KJV. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day John 6:38‭-‬39 KJV.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father Philippians 2:4‭-‬11 KJV.
Can you see, the SON was in the form of the FATHER, just as John 1:1 bare witness. But he became man, he left heaven and came to earth even was born in a poor home for what purpose precisely? You and I was the reason. Here are some of the reasons why God became man.
1. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV
2. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 KJV
3. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV
4. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 KJV
5. Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Colossians 1:12‭-‬15 KJV
To summarize the scriptures above, the SON of GOD (JESUS), came to earth to save us from sin (devil) because the FATHER love us. Every man outside CHRIST JESUS is under the power of sin (devil). That is why men will commit sin and they are comfortable and relaxed because sin(devil) has become their friend and father. You may claim that you know GOD, that JESUS is not the way or only way to GOD. MY FRIEND YOU ARE DECEIVING YOURSELF AND LYING TO YOUR SOUL. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:22‭-‬23 KJV
No man has direct access to GOD except through JESUS CHRIST. This is the only channel GOD has made available for us to come to him, every other channels are fake, counterfeit and provided by the devil to deceive gullible men.
Christ is coming again. He is coming again. Stop DECEIVING yourselves. I pray for you today that your eyes of understanding may open to see the truth. Don’t be like those who have eye but cannot see.

ARE CHRISTIANS THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WILL
GO TO HEAVEN.
I remember when I was in the University, one
good Saturday morning two people came to
share the word of God with my room mate and I.
They told us that Jesus is the only way to God,
that if any one does not believe and accept
Jesus as Lord and Saviour, that such a person
would be condemned to hell. I am a Christian
though not a dedicated one but I go to church
almost every sunday because that was what I
know Christianity to mean. I got infuriated with
them for the statement that only Christians will
make it to heaven. How can it be Christians only
when several people in this world from other
religion were actually living a better upright life
than some Christians. I couldn't just accept it
that God will condemn people to hell for not
believing in Jesus while their lives are good.
Today some still harbour this belief even
Christians.
Fast forward to 2013 when I was born again, this
was the day I redicated my life back to God, the
day I started making frantic effort to live a godly
life. This was the day I decided in my heart that I
was not going to continue living my old life of
fornication, alcoholic intake, partying etc. God
started dealing with me, my first step was to
stop girl friend thing, because I know that so far
I continue relationship with the opposite sex I
will never avoid fornicating. It was not an easy
task, but I discovered that when you make a
decision and you invite God to help you, God will
help.
One day I was reading the bible around 2014, the
book of Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and
to all the people of Israel, that by the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified,
whom God raised from the dead, even by him
doth this man stand here before you whole. 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there
is none other name under heaven given among
men, whereby we must be saved. Let me say
this unless the Lord opens your heart you will
misinterprete this scripture. The Lord told me
that day, that Jesus was given to the whole
world not just the Isrealites, that the people of
the world might be save if they put their faih in
Jesus by believing that he is the son of God.
Today some still argues that Jesus is not the
son of God, they say how can God have a human
being as a son. Do you even remember that even
the Jews said that Jesus is comparing himself
to God when Jesus told them that he is from
God. Even when he told them that he was in
existence before Abraham the Jews sought to
kill him. It is still the same story from some
today who say that Jesus is a great prophet of
God but not the son or the only way to God but
thank God they are still many who put away
human reasoning and they believe in Jesus these
are the people that are called Christians. 1 John
2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath
not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son
hath the Father also.The question as to whether
Christians will be the only ones that will go to
heaven is very clear from several bible passages.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,
the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me. Don't let anybody deceive
you. They told you that so far you are living a
good life and even if you don't have Christ that
you will make it to heaven. I tell you, its not
possible, because what you call good life is
filtheness before God. Self righteousness can not
save any man on the face of this earth. Isaiah
64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all
our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we
all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the
wind, have taken us away. Now let it be clear to
you also that its not every Christian that will
make it to heaven. Matthew 7:21 Not every one
that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the
will of my Father which is in heaven. 1 Peter
4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved,
where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
It therefore meas that having accepted Jesus as
Lord and Saviour your daily walk as a Christian
must show inwardly and outwardly that you
belong to Jesus otherwise eternal life is not for
you. If you continue living in sin even after
claiming to be a Christian you will miss heaven.
A child of God does not live in sin comfortably
though he/she might make a mistake and fall
into sin but he will rise back to a godly lifestyle.
Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven
times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall
fall into mischief.

Do you know that the reason why you are yet to start making exploit as a son and daughter of God is simply because you have neglected the teachings of the bible? You have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior but is your life still been controlled by fleshly desires? Are you still finding it difficult to obey God’s word, walk in love, forgive those who offend you etc? I want to encourage you not to lose hope, if only you will apply what I will be teaching you today your life will never remain the same. I have started applying this in my daily life; I pray that the Holy Spirit of God will help you as you put this into practice.

Let me ask you, do you sincerely want to grow your spiritual life. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled (Matt 5:6). If you are thirsty for spiritual maturity here are what you should start doing?
1. Daily reading of the bible: It is a well known fact that whatever activity we engage frequently will change us. For instance should you start eating good meal from today your physical body will automatically start looking good. The same thing applies to the word of God. The word of God is food to our spirit and it is expected from us to feed our spirit (soul) the same way we feed our physical body. Many children of God feed more than three times a day but they don’t feed their spirit. How do want to grow spiritually under such condition, it is not possible. When you don’t know what the word of God is saying in a situation how will you confront challenges in your life? I encourage you to study your bible on a daily basis and you will start experiencing steady spiritual growth. If you do not study the word of God you shall not grow but shall finally starve spiritually. Matt 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" My friend do you live on food and material things alone? Don’t you know that you starve your spirit man when you don’t study the word of God? This makes you vulnerable to Satan’s attacks and manipulations (Ephesians 6: 12-17). Study this scriptural passages to understand more why you should study your bible daily. Jeremiah 15:16, John 6:63, 1 Peter 2:2, 2 Peter 3:18, Hebrew 5:11-14, Ephesians 4: 14, 15.

2. Pray always: Prayer is very important in spiritual growth of a Christian, without it his spiritual life will perish. Prayer open doors to us, it is the Holy Spirit that helps us pray according to God’s will. 1 Thess 5:17 pray continually; Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Matt 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Pray ceaselessly if you want to grow spiritually, pray ceaselessly if you are in trouble, suffering, persecuted. James 5:13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

3. Obey GOD’S Word daily: Christians are called to walk in obedience. God expect all His children to put off the old man and put on the new man. Matt 9:16-17 "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. 17 Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." When we disobey our earthly father he will refuse us some of the things we ask him, it is also with our heavenly father. When we refuse to believe God, walk away from sin, forgive those who offend us, love our neighbor, reverence His name etc, God will not use us mightily. Look at 2 Tim 2:20-21 ‘But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. I ask you again, do you desire to grow spiritually? Then walk in love, faith, holiness, pray always, meditate on the word of God, forgive those who wrong you, help the needy etc. You must purify yourself, your thoughts and all you do on a daily basis, in order to retain God in your heart. Remember you can only do it by the power of the Holy Spirit. For further study; Eph 4:22-24, 2 Cor 6:1-18, Rom 12:1-2

4. Witness For Christ Everywhere: Evangelism is part and parcel of our Christian duty. Now that you are saved from bondage of sin, you should preach this word to others so that they will also see the light of God and turn away from sinful life. Matt 28:18-19 ‘And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Read Mark 16:15-18. When you work for the kingdom the kingdom will also walk for you. Start sharing the message of the kingdom to others; help bring those who are lost back to God. The bible said that there is joy in heaven over a sinner that repents.

5. Attend A Christ Centered Church: Christ centered Church is a worship place where the Holy Spirit of God is in charge and the word of God is delivered as it is written in the bible. It is important because there are many false prophets in the world today and some churches preach heresies. 2 Peter 2:1-3 ‘But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 1 Tim 4:1-5 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

In conclusion, follow these steps on a daily basis and you will not remain the same spiritually.

To start this discussion I will first try to explain what divorce simply stands for in the simplest form. According to Cambridge Advance Learners Dictionary, the word divorce comes to play when a marriage is ended by an official or legal process. This simply means that the man and woman who initially agreed to stick together till death now break the vow they made to each other. We know already that marriage is a union of man and woman as husband and wife. And this union is designed by God to last until death. Now what is happening in our society today is that people are no longer committed to a life time union and this is evident in the number of divorce cases in our courts and even higher among the celebrities.
Today I will be looking into the holy scripture to see what it says concerning divorce, we know that the holy bible contains the word of God given to man for our guidance. I will also outline those things I believe are responsible for this high rate of divorce, and finally, I will enumerates the consequences of divorce to the family and society.
Matt 5:31-33
31 "It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.'
32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
33 "Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.'
The above scripture is telling us that it is only on ground of unfaithfulness, infidelity, adultery that God allows separation. What I don’t really know if this unfaithfulness is to sexual immorality alone or general unfaithfulness like in disobedience to the husband. It therefore means that as married couples we should cultivate faithfulness in all that we do with each other especially the woman.
Having explained the above passage, the scripture said also that it is not the wish of God for married couples to divorce. Mark 10:1-12
10 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.
2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
3 "What did Moses command you?" he replied.
4 They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away."
5 "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied.
6 "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'
7 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8 and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.
9 Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.
11 He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

If you read this scripture very well you will understand that nothing should separate married couples, not even unfaithfulness. It therefore means that if couples should allow unfaithfulness to separate them, they must remain unmarried to another. They will be committing adultery if they marry another. Though there are exceptional cases to this passage as written by Apostle Paul.
It therefore means that we should treasure our marriages, committed to its survival, help esach other to be the best we want and most importantly pray for our partner because not every behavior your partner exhibits are ordinary.
I personally advice constant communication between the couples to resolve friction in their relationship. From my observations, the following can be said to have contributed to the high rate of divorce in our society; un-forgiveness, lack of adequate commitment to the marriage, lack of respect to the man, abuse of the woman by the husband, childlessness etc. There are many other things but these are the basic causes in my own opinion. I believe with love one can surmount divorce and other problems common to marriage. Because inside love is commitment, understanding, trust, faithfulness, patience etc.
The consequences of divorce is enormous, here there are; vagabonds everywhere resulting to increase in crime rate, encourages adulterous lifestyle, violation of God principle and law which the penalty we all know, transfer of the same mindset to younger and future generation etc.
In conclusion, divorce is a route taken by those who don’t fear God, those that don’t want to make sacrifices, those that lack love and commitment. Even when your partner is guilty of unfaithfulness if you believe in marriage for life you will refuse to take the part of divorce.
