JohnVianney: I'm one who freely relates with people never minding the tribe nor ancestry. Due to this cause, many of my friends are from the Hausa and Yoruba tribes and surely from the Igbo tribe as well. Before i joined Nairaland, i had been advised by many relatives to desist from getting too close to the first two mentioned tribes, especially the second tribe mentioned because of some characteristics which they possess, but i fell deaf ears to those advises. Now after I've been visiting nairaland for some time now, i'm really beginning to have a "re-think" about the advises i was given because ive been noticing those same characteristics play out here almost everyday. I'm really beginning to dislike the Yoruba people now, what's with all these double faced, tribalistic and cunny characteristics you display on all threads? you people really need to change. Ditto! I'm becoming a tribalist myself, thanks to Nairaland. And it's not something I like very much cos some of my closest friends are Hausas and Yorubas. I still have no problem with Hausas cos they haven't displayed the kinda tribalism some Yorubas display here |

Input: I won't blame the op for this negative stereotype about the oil rich city of Warri, the blame goes to'I go die' and all the Nigerian comedians for painting Warri as a danger zone.
The most painful is that some of these upcoming comedians haven't been to Warri but they will use it to joke just for their joke to sell.
To the whole world Warri isn't as bad as people and the media made us to believe. This has nothing to do with Comedy! Oil or not Warri has a high crime rate. I remember what happened to my friend who went for a wedding in Warri 2 years back, she had her travel kit with her and her handbag, she simply stood up to drop her gift and both bags disappeared (A wedding for goodness sake!) |

When I complain about Nigerian Pastors my friends will see me as the devil. Some pastors in Nigeria are the most evil members of the church, imagine what this one has been teaching his congregation, what a disgrace. If his daughter can be a thief and now a murderer, what can we expect from the church members esp in a country like Nigeria where most church members nearly worship their pastors and most times regard the pastor more than they regard God himself |

Ilekeh: You're not hosting yourself.
You're hosting yourself in a safe and friendly environment (Yorubas) with ports and markets built by Yorubas to sustain your business.
You have a port in the East, but you choose to reside in the West. Truth be told, Lagos does not need you, You need Lagos to survive. Wonder why your likes run from the East and only return for "vacation"? If you indeed believe Lagos was built by Yorubas then you're the most ignorant, illiterate human to ever grace the earth. Even if you aren't educated atleast you can use the internet, try using Google for a start. |

juicypetal: My dear, get your facts straight, ok. What is excommunication? Once you are excommunicated you lose your priestly honors. A clear example of excommunicated priest is former archbishop milingo. As for the business venture, there are 1001 priests out there that run chains of businesses, ok. BTW, does a Catholic priest own a Parish? Invite him and he will celebrate mass. He is excommunicated yet bishop ordains and professes his deacons & (sisters/brothers /monks/nuns) respectively? C'mon, Ask your parish priest /vicars or preferably a priest friend if you have one to explain 'things' for you. # comebackandthankmelater# Difference btw us both is you are talking based on your thoughts and I'm talking based on what I know. Sisters and reverends 4rm his seminary CANNOT preach outside his parish, and yes father edeh owns the parish in madonna, osisatech, caritas etc. And no reverend father owns business ventures, they simply head business ventures owned by the catholic church, some una be catholic 4 mouth sha...go and learn things about ur church, it's not about attending society meetings. Lemme repeat one more time, father Edeh cannot celebrate mass outside parishes OWNED by him, if u have seen him in ur parish saying mass b4 let us all know. I schooled in madonna 4 4years, I went for the pilgrimages, I know about Elele, Akpugo and their prayer grounds, I also know the sisters produced by his seminary and how they operate, my information is 1st hand and not based on hearsay. You may not hear all this outside though...but we know |
