Can I get 2011 Sonata or Optima. |
daVinci1:Why don't you take it to their accredited dealership. Leave roadside mechanics. Might be the steering column. Might have to replace it for about 150k for a.second. hand own. |
Flets:Ok Let me help you read Report says 2010 to 2013 |
akereconfi:Yes its really shame to Nigeria if educated and well informed few like you cannot differentaite number from amount. Go and look at again bros it is the amount spent that the chart is giving. |
9jaIhail:My brother how important is ethnicty over competence of the person who rules. I for one would not mind somebody coming from the moon to rule so far the person makes life better. |
Meanwhile 30k km is what some ppl do in 3yrs in Nigeria sitting in traffic most time while a car in America will have done over 100k km in the same period. |
saxywale:The roads in America are much better and they do a lot of highway miles. By the way the car was just over 3yrs when i bought it and i see ppl recommending 6-7 yr old tokunbo cars american cars here and what are their mileage. Any that is less than 100k miles has been tampered with. |
sultaan:Which one is Nigerian new car. Do we produce cars in Nigeria? |
saxywale:Abt 80k miles |
saxywale:Less than 90k miles |
OP, here is my take on this. Statistics shows that after 5 years you will have spent the amount you used in purchasing the car. The point am trying to make here is that the parts in the car have life span so buying a tokunbo car simply means you are acquiring a property that is at the end of its shelf life so most parts will need replacements and when you consider the fact that we have fake parts and fake mechanics you are in for rough time very early. In 2008 i purchased a brand new hyundai elantra while most of my friends purchased 2003 Honda accord and Camry for the same amount. 3 years later i was still rocking my car without stress while my friends were all tired of the issues with their tokunbo cars and were already starting to replace them. In 2010 for lack of funds to purchase a brand new SUV i got a tokunbo(200). From the first month its was brake cylinder. Onwards it was one part spoiling every other month. I realised that all these parts were just due for replacement. So it amazes when ppl way tokunbo is better. New is new and old is old. On your choice I feel we've be deceived into thinking we need to drive heavy engines. The primary purpose of a car is to take you from point A to B and Kia Rio will do that excently and cheaply too. For my guy that said you won't get the stated fuel consumption, you won't get it either in any car mainly.because of quality of.fuel available and excessive idling and stop and go that we do in this country. So my guy if i have a choice for a brand new car i'll jump on it. Your car should work for you and not you working for the car. Don't make a mechanic your best friend. By the way i bought my tokunbo SUV myself from the States and was clean titled. |
Denn:How can a tokunbo car ever be better than a new car guy. Have you used both or your case is that of grass is greener on the other side? |
Ideyontop:Your write up here is a confirmation that wisdom does not come with age.It would help to know how old you are anyway, since time is relative. Back to the topic. You've asked some questions and it would not be a bad idea if you provide answers to them. Now let me ask mine.1.) Did she do this remodelling with her personal money. NO. 2.) Was tax payers money and our collective oil money used for these projects. YES. 3.)Should we ask questions about how our collective wealth is managed. YES 4.) Have we received value for our money NO. 5.) Does our so called remodelled airports measure in anyway with airports round Africa(lets not bother about the rest of the world since Africa is known as the poorest continent). NO 6.) Did these projects cost a whole lot of money YES.( I'll ask a few questions and get back with figures). You talk about model pictures. Is that all it takes to please you? Is that where you draw your wisdom from? I will imagine that more wisdom will be achieved from actually visiting some of these airports. Ordinary bus terminals have better environments. Check the quality of work done with your petrodollars. If you are fortunate enough to be outside the country, compare it with what you see there. If not read books, even watch movies. Then you will realise how much you were scammed by your minister. You will understand how these remodelings was just an excuse to embezzle money. My wise brother, please visit Murtala Mohammed International Airport and see if you are not ashamed to be a Nigerian. Even the airports of our West African neighbours are much better though smaller. But size is not what we are talking about now. My conclusion from your statements is that either you are very naive or you are directly benefiting from the embezzlement of the former minister. If the later is your case, please understand that Nigeria is the only country we have. You can travel to another man's country but you will never get the comfort and recognition you will get from your country. We have to make this nation work and it can only happen if we start holding our leaders accountable. I am from the eastern part of this country and it doesn't stop me from criticizing when I see the need. I will criticize my own brother if he acts in the interest of this country. I think you should do the same. I believe that is what WISDOM entails. |
Ideyontop:Oga traveller. Hope your travelling takes you to other airports outside this country because if your travels ends in naija then my point will be pointless to you.Your airport was supposed to have undergone remodelling and that is what you have. Airport with no airconditioners, 2 passport scanning machines for an international airport, leaking roof, escalator not working. Seriously what does the airport have now that it did not have before. Are your expectations so low? My guy,my conclusions after using that airport recently is that Nigerians were scammed and the scammer will soon be ib the senate to defend your interest is seriously disheartning. SMH. Meanwhile what is it about Nigerians and age. Lets assume that you are older than me. Does it make you wiser than me. |
Ideyontop:Enjoy whattttt? Have you being to Murtala Mohammed International Airport? Sure you haven't. Probably money that she diverted from that project that she used to bribe the hungry delegates. SMH |
Xmas is upon us again..And with it comes increased road journeys of families to their home states. I'll therefore like the state the federal roads in the country to be discussed. Of interest to me is the state of roads from Lagos to Enugu and Enugu to Port Harcourt. Am sure most ppl will like to know the condition of the road they will be plying. So lets begin. |
My brother generally should be the case and not just one experience. Guess you are very lucky with your purchase and your neighbour very unlucky. By the way a two year old car is still generally new. Most of.the parts haven't started spoiling. I bought an elantra and for like 4 years (even with the bad roads in my area) all I did was regular maintenance. The car is in it 6th now and she is finally costing me some money now. Around the same period I bought a 3 ur old pathfinder and she has really stressed me from word go. So for me a new car(hyundai) anyday. By the way my colleagues that bought old accord and Camry(they were same price)when I bought my elantra all changed their cars after 2-3yrs later because of the problems. |
baggy4luv: nothing like class classification. Its called social stratification.Brother I too know. What are you talking about ![]() |
By the way, why does Moet champagne cost btw 10 - 15k while Cook, Andre and others btw 1-1.5k. Infact coming down why is 38 export lager cheaper than Star which in turn is cheaper than Heineken when they are manufactured by same company and sometimes in same factory and best of all tastes the same. Answer: Class differentiation Conclusion: Some schools must therefore cost more than others. No be because them better. Uto |
Really airport can flood anywhere depending of the drainage available and the extent of the rain. But the part that bothers me is seeing passengers coming down. Was it safe for the plane to land in that condition? |

Parish-priest:Ma brother. You fit help explain why she has been completely absent from the public. I don't want to believe the story bt seriously right now there is nothing else to believe. |
Chartey: Ekoboy, the thing is this. The other tenant is entitled to his sleep without disturbance just like you. So if you want extra comfort such as sleeping with a fan on, you look for a solution that won't hurt another person. So u can get an inverter instead of a generator which is noiseless. Nobody will complain about noise and you will enjoy your sleep. Your comfort shouldn't be at another person's discomfort.Don't confuse my argument. Am not saying you should care less about how your activities affects others. All I said is that the tenant is well within his rights to use his generator all night. UNLESS the condition of rental says otherwise. I was only complaining about some face me I face you landlords here who use their position to oppress tenants by bringing up all kinds of conditions in the middle of the tenancy simply because the believe the tenant has no choice and therefore their slaves. Thats where my problem lies. I mentioned earlier that the occupants can work out where the generators should be kept to cause less discomfort. Like you suggested having inverter makes sense. I for one has an inverter and my generator doesn't stay on pass 11pm when I sleep. Bt I would not hold it against anyone who runs his generator all night. Afterall not everyone believes there is sense in investing in inverter and I would not suggest the person sleeps in heat because I DON'T. We complain about how our leaders are oppressing us bt how do we oppress those we feel are weaker than us. Why would someone collect money from a tenant and deny the tenant some comforts that he thought he had paid for. I have said it landlords should stay alone in their compounds. Landlord tenant arrangement is a business arrangement that demands mutual respect. You as a landlord is not doing the society(tenant)any favours. what would be the value of the house if after building nobody comes to rent it. |
theoctopus: How can you not see anything wrong in that? It is totally wrong. You cannot use over 60% of your salary to buy a phone. That is madness and stupidity put together. It is poverty mentality. Who is such a person trying to impress? You should never live above your meansHmmm! How can using 100k from 150k salary to buy phone stupid? Wld the person be doing that every month. If that phone lasts for 2yrs that comes to 100k in 24months.Divide that my brother that is how much of his salary he used in a month for phone. Tell us what would you rather he do with his money I'ld picks holes in that. One must find a way to indulge every nw and then in what gives you pleasure. Its the reason why you work hard. PAY YOURSELF. To the CLOWN that used ALL of his gratuity to purchase a car, salary no.dey again o atleast btill he gets another job. |
