…Asks DSS to grant his lawyers, family members access to see him

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the absence of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the Abuja High Court today.

The group through its Media and Publicity Secretary urged the Department of the State Services, DSS, to grant Kanu’s lawyers and family members access to see him if he is still alive.

Recall that DSS on Monday failed to produce the detained IPOB leader before the Court for the continuation of his trial.
The government lawyer, M. B. Abubakar, blamed Kanu’s absence in court on what he termed as “logistical problems”.

Reacting to the situation, IPOB averred: “We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, condemn the seek and hide attitude of the Department of State Services, DSS, and its systematic delay and failure to produce our leader Mazi Nnamdi in court today in Abuja. This was a deliberate and wicked plot to inflict further torture on our leader who they have kept incommunicado for some days now. In the past seven days DSS has refused our lawyers and our leader’s family members access to him. This is wickedness!

“We are no longer comfortable with this development. We have enough grounds to suspect foul play. With the failure of DSS  to produce our leader in court today without any cogent reason and coupled with the torture meted out to him since his abduction in Kenya, we are worried about the safety of our Leader. The failure of DSS to produce our leader in court today is confirming our fear over the uncertainty concerning his health. Considering his deteriorating health condition since he was kidnapped and the refusal of DSS to grant him access to his personal physicians, it is possible that our Leader may have been killed.

“DSS should prove us wrong by producing our leader in court or granting his lawyers and family members access to him. We are running out of patience. Nigeria should not take IPOB for granted. Our leader must not die in detention.

“We also wish to heartily commend all markets, banks and government agencies, motor parks, transport companies, etc,  who showed solidarity to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu without formal announcements from IPOB leadership. We thank all Biafrans and friends of Biafran who in one way or the other solidarised with our leader today.

“We also demand unconditional release of all those arrested today in Abuja and other parts of the country for their solidarity to our leader. Nigeria must release them.”

What a very dum.b post by a very ignorant person. Why not pick a particular region and let's compare with SE but in your dishonesty, you had to bring the rest of Nigeria against SE? Is that not foolishness?

I have been to virtually all the regions and I can tell you that SE has comparatively better hospitals, far better housing, and a lot more companies/industries outside Lagos region. Tell me which states/cities has more industries/companies than Onitsha, Aba, Nnewi and Enugu? Pick a particular region and list them and I will do same for SE, don't go and start mentioning the rest of Nigeria, that's stupidity!

I live in Owerri and I'm presently typing from there! However, the fact that we are providing expatriates all over Nigeria doesn't mean SE isn't good enough. In the SE, most of the menial jobs are left for outsiders while we go to other regions and take up the elite jobs like lecturing, civil service, phamarcy, supply, business etc. But here in the East, things like okada riding are mostly done by people from Nasarawa, Benue and Cross River, house maids are left for people from Kogi, Akwa Ibom, Plateau, Cross River etc, same with several others like cart pushing, construction works, farm works, security etc. Wake me up the day you see Igbos doing these sort of works in your own region.

Igbos are far above whatever shitty tribe you represent, which you're obviously ashamed to name, in all areas of life!

Lastly, the globaly recognized yardstick for measuring development by the UN is MDG, particularly in areas like education, school enrollment, healthcare, number of people living above poverty, as well as absence/low percentage numbers for maternal mortality, under 5 mortality, underweight children etc. Tell me your region and let's compare with SE on which region is doing better. You can hate on Igbos as much as you want but you will always lag behind us in the grand scheme of things!!

I have also considered the stakes and realized that core North won't give up on their stranglehold on Southern Nigeria except they are forced to. The way Nigeria currently is, is Utopia to them since they know they're getting everything absolutely free from Southerners while equally using us as slaves.

Almost everything of economic value is domiciled in the South while the North controls it all. The seaports, oil and gas resources, economy, human resources etc are all in the South while the North is almost collapsing under the weight of overpopulation, abysmally low productivity, poverty, all indices of development/growth in the negative, banditry, Boko Haram and near anarchy.

Virtually all the sectors that earn Nigeria its fame are in the South such as Nollywood, music, sports, diaspora exploits, economy and industry, natural resources and all positive human development indices.

The North will automatically sink into failed status the day South breaks away and they will become obscure like Niger, Chad, Mali and other Sahel countries, only to be remembered because of the activities of Islamic terror groups.

All these realities I mentioned above is not lost on them and that's why would rather die in their millions than allow South to peacefully break away.

That's the sad reality but should the South fight together as one, they will defeat the North in war with absolute ease in the long run. We have the brains and resources to rout them and they will be at a serious disadvantage since they won't have access to the sea to bring in heavy war equipment.

Also, with a largely poverty stricken populace that will sink deeper into crushing poverty, coupled with Christian minorities that will rather fight against them and break free than fight on their side, they won't be able to resist for too long before giving up.

The South is just a willing slave with terribly selfish politicians who allow themselves to be manipulated. The North is only relying on propaganda and manipulation to scare South from uniting and fighting them.
