I don't see any reason to get so defensive. If it turns out that all he in fact needs is hashing, then fine. If he needs actual encryption, then also fine.

When did moderators become public servants?

Lol.

Which kyn logic be dis

So who elected Mukina moderator?

She is an employee of a private firm, not any sort of public servant.

You may call your elected official a b@stard if you like. But if you enter someone's shop and call the storekeeper a b@stard, do not be surprised if you are quickly tossed out.

Use common sense.

If he openly called the mods b@stards, then the ban should remain.

He should not be above the rules.
PoliticsRe: NN24, Nigeria's News Channel Folds Up by ektbear: 5:30am On Jul 17, 2012
floriana: NEXT and NN24 had similar problems - attempt at independent and objective reporting to be funded by private sector patronage which are meagre and unsustainable.

AIT is heavily indebted but no bank can foreclose on it because Dokpesi works with all politicians who can pay his price. He worked for PDP to install GEJ and ACN to install Oshiomole. He's working for LP in Ondo. His most important scruples is CASH and other things can follow. That way, he's able to fund his diesel cost for 24 hrs broadcast. And he has a way of owing his staff for months and still remain on air. He sews plenty Ankara dresses for his news presenters to make them look presentable and pops into the newsroom once in a while to keep the plastic smiles on the faces of the staff. Plus he's got one of his wives on ground to checkmate any brewing 'Arab spring'. I recommend the Raymond Dokpesi model for any aspiring media rookie or returnee.

Since you are the "voice" of Nairaland, the most respected and influential member of this community (rather than a creature despised by nearly all) I clearly have no choice but to carefully consider your request.

Expect a response back within a few months.

Is this like, supposed to be amusing? Or clever?

Am I supposed to laugh at your clever joke?

Do your homies in RL laugh politely when you say stuff like this?

Password? Ekiti? You mean my username?

Regarding your hopes and aspirations, you are probably already used to disappointment. So expect to be disappointed again in this matter.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Nairaland,

Seun and Mukina2 would like to keep whatever relationship between them confidential. So you will not be getting any confirmation soon.

But be rest assured that whatever relationship between them is; it is for the good of Nairaland and Nairalanders.

At the due time we shall make known what is unknown.

And in case any of you is interested in dating Seun or Mukina2, you can mail your proposal to me.

Thank you for your understanding.

EducationRe: Make History Compulsory Subject In Schools – Onyekpe by ektbear: 1:11am On Jul 17, 2012
I suppose you've lost me.

You gave an example of your friend's child's HS discussing American history. Me as a third party, I don't see why it logically follows from that that this HS doesn't discuss Nigerian history at all.

Or that this class covering American history is mandatory, while naija history is optional, etc, etc.

It just seems like a big leap to me
EducationRe: Make History Compulsory Subject In Schools – Onyekpe by ektbear: 11:01pm On Jul 16, 2012
Why do people always resort to this tactic when they don't have a point.

"In my friend's child's high school, they had an assignment that mostly covered US history, and from this I shall conclude X, Y and Z"

Then when someone calls you out for perhaps being hasty with your conclusions, then you play the "didn't grow up in naija card." Despite that being irrelevant to the questions asked
EducationRe: Make History Compulsory Subject In Schools – Onyekpe by ektbear: 9:55pm On Jul 16, 2012
Man. Looks like I'm going to have to break things down even more slowly.

1. So, you know for a fact that they don't teach Nigerian history at all in this particular school your friend's younger sister attends?
2. Do you know for a fact that this strange American history course for which "most" of the material was on American history (but not all of it) is again mandatory?

If the answer to both of the questions above is "YES", then your point is valid. Otherwise, it is not.
EducationRe: Make History Compulsory Subject In Schools – Onyekpe by ektbear: 8:53pm On Jul 16, 2012
*shrug*

1. You didn't make it explicitly clear that they were teaching an American history course. You said "majority of the questions..." One would imagine that if the course was an American history, all of the questions would be on that subject, rather than only a majority grin

2. OK, so let's say this student was taking an American history course. So, wetin concern you? Some of my classmates I know took European history as an elective in high school. So unless it is also a mandatory class required to graduate, then no wahala. And if it is...and you have a problem with it, feel free to remove her from the school.

1. The rejection of the PDP/GEJ by the Oba
2. The rejection of the PDP/GEJ by the good people of Edo

In a sense, this election was a referendum on GEJ's tenure

Of what relevance is Tinubu in a thread about propagandists, political prostitutes, and laptops asking for GEJ to be praised for not rigging an election?

Then later this same guy will be like "who cares about Tinubu", when he was the first person to bring him up grin

The way you laptops reason amuses me...they need to upgrade your software to the latest version so you can reason a bit more sharply
PoliticsRe: Let's Praise Gej by ektbear: 12:09pm On Jul 16, 2012
Correct. I pointed out that you are one of the laptops in Abuja.

You went on a long and erroneous rant about the model of phone i use.

I then corrected your errors..and then you asked "who cares?"

Is it not somewhat illogical to ask who cares about a topic YOU brought up?
