alex101: My duty is not to the dungeon called nigeria, rather it's to the black race, and this duty I owe to the black race is to ensure the disintegration of nigeria. I take this stand because I strongly believe that one of the nations that will emerge from the ashes of nigeria will lead the black race to greatness.

TO DISINTEGRATE THE NIGERIAN DUNGEON IS A TASK THAT MUST BE DONE IN THE INTEREST OF THE BLACK RACE cool

CultureRe: Scarification In African Cultures by ektbear: 9:48am On Feb 01, 2013
Nobody does tribal marks in my hometown, nor have we done it historically. I think that this is more of an Ibadan-side thing.
CultureRe: Scarification In African Cultures by ektbear: 9:47am On Feb 01, 2013
pak: THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY....

Of what benefit is such practice in this time and age ?

I marvel at Africa, our inability to know what to promote, what values to follow and what cultural practices should be abolished.

It might be understandable if someone in the 18th century blasts his child's face with tribal marks but in this age, how in this world will that be of any benefit to that child ?

And in some cases (many cases actually), children with tribal marks end up being susceptible to inferiority complex on the account of their looks.

Please anybody planning to scarify his child face should please refrain. When the child is old enough, if he's so much in love with marks on his body, he'll simply get a tattoo

PoliticsRe: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by ektbear: 12:57am On Feb 01, 2013
They presumably have some sort of customer base already, yes? If their product is good, won't existing owners recommend it to their friends/neighbors/colleagues also looking for cars?
PoliticsRe: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by ektbear: 12:36am On Feb 01, 2013
Advertising doesn't help if your product isn't good.

And if your product is good, won't need much advertising to move it.
PoliticsRe: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by ektbear: 11:24pm On Jan 31, 2013
I am are of Honda's reliability through word of mouth. Not through any focused advertising on their part.

They simply have a reputation for this.

Regarding their price relative to other options, you learn this when you start looking for a car.

If Innoson is selling a quality product at a good price, they won't need to pressure anyone into buying their vehicles.

Therefore, it seems very likely to me that either the quality or the price of their cars is unattractive.
PoliticsRe: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by ektbear: 10:55pm On Jan 31, 2013
vinuyon: All INNOSON needs is marketing, marketing and marketing.

Aggressive marketing will solve the issue of low patronage.
Will it?

Marketing alone is not what made me buy a Honda when I was looking for a car. Honda has a track record of reliability and safety, and also is pretty inexpensive relative to the alternatives.

If you build an attractive product, people will buy it. You won't be complaining of "low gov't patronage" unless there is something dodgy with what you are building.
PoliticsRe: Innoson Vehicles Complains Of Low Govt Patronage! by ektbear: 1:42am On Jan 31, 2013
It is hard for me to imagine legitimate companies in the West complaining of low government patronage.

Unless you are a military defense contractor, then this seems very strange.

Aren't cars a consumer-oriented business? I don't see Toyota or Honda looking for any government to buy their products. Instead, they look for regular folks like me to buy what they are selling.

The punishment exceeds the crime. That is not justice.
