Man, WTF is up with these African newspapers stealing articles from other sources? They took the bloomberg article and chopped and diced it like a tomato ![]() |
Here is the original bloomberg article: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-17/nigeria-s-megacity-gives-fashola-plaform-to-woo-investors.html |
Progress! |
Goldieluks: You sound like a boring individual. Are you boring in real life, or is itThe same topics I post/comment on here in NL are what I like in real life. So if you find me boring here, no doubt you'd find me boring in real life. |
Shollypopz: Shattap dia!! Nah seriously, shut up!! Y'all are just being unreasonable, so you want to judge someone by their online personality, right??1. Who is this "ya'll." I am speaking on the behalf of myself alone. 2. Yeah, getting a sense of someone's real personality from their online personality probably is not unreasonable. |
Next2Bezee: Them no pick her for you ooo! ![]() |
Heh. They should encourage their kids to play basketball. |
Ain't being judgmental. Just saying that there is lot more to a woman than looks. |
I still do not understand what Patrick Yakowa did in relatively short tenure as governor of Kaduna State for the most southern posters on this forum to be rejoicing at his death. |
The main lesson I (re-)learned from that thread is that looks are overrated. If someone's personality and motivations ain't right, then wahala dey ![]() |
Who is genociding who in the Congo? Is it not the black man killing the black man? So why are you blaming Susan Rice? Shouldn't you be pointing fingers at the Congolese? |
who dash monkey banana nagoma, which "us?" Do you think the western world reckons you and your folk when they think of Nigeria? You are simply non-entities in their minds. |
Kolade Arow: Thats the mistake most parents are making now. The fact remains any course of study the young lad is having in mind just let him/her go for it. Gone are the days people have grudges against proffessions, THIS IS 20TH CENTURY FOR GOD SAKE WAKE UP!!!Some courses lead to poverty, unemployment, underemployment. Has nothing to do with grudge |

There should be an option to pay a little money to be able to view hidden posts. They are by far the most entertaining on this forum ![]() |

A little squeeze may be all that it takes to prevent malignant breast cells triggering cancer, research has shown. Laboratory experiments showed that applying physical pressure to the cells guided them back to a normal growth pattern. Scientists do not envisage fighting breast cancer with a new range of compression bras, but they believe the research provides clues that could lead to new treatments. "People have known for centuries that physical force can influence our bodies," said Gautham Venugopalan, a leading member of the research team at the University of California in Berkeley, United States. "When we lift weights our muscles get bigger. The force of gravity is essential to keeping our bones strong. Here we show that physical force can play a role in the growth - and reversion - of cancer cells." The study involved growing malignant breast epithelial cells within a gel injected into flexible silicone chambers. This allowed the scientists to apply compression during the first stages of cell growth, effectively squashing the cells. Over time, the squeezed malignant cells began to grow in a more normal and organised way. Once the breast tissue structure was formed the cells stopped growing, even when the compressive force was removed. Non-compressed cells continued to display the haphazard and uncontrolled growth that leads to cancer. "Malignant cells have not completely forgotten how to be healthy; they just need the right cues to guide them back to a healthy growth pattern," said Mr Venugopalan, a doctoral student. The results were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco. http://news.uk.msn.com/health/squeezing-breasts-can-stop-cancer |
wkid: Yes O! Omogui was also made a prof in May. In part 3 Osasona awarded only 2 As out of 143 students in EEE 309(D simplest course in part 3). Imagine d guy was deducting marks 4 handwriting & oda rubbish. If u write anything oda than "Electronics & Electrical Engineering" in d space for dept, he'll deduct marks. Simple things like omitting d letter 's' & interchanging the two Es were penalized also.2 As in a class of 143? The guy sounds like an 1diot. Assignment of final grades shouldn't really be in the hands of the lecturer anyways...there should be standard guidelines. |
wkid: Talk bout Pol Sci. & lots of oda depts where u'll never c any 1st klass. U'll have lecturers saying "A is for God, B is for my family, C is for brilliant students". A visiting lecturer 4rm Unilag in English Dept was told to reduce d grades of his results because d no of pple who had an A were too much according to OAU standard. So, does each department have a GPA policy? In my experience, the way grades are assigned is as follows: 1. Assign some raw scores for the class to each student 2. Map these to grades in a way in such a manner that the average GPA is close to the department standard. Is this how it is done at Ife? If so, then how does one justify giving a pretty smart student a below average grade (unless the smart student's raw score was below average)? |
Mathano: It shows d standard of OAU is high.seventy eight first class out of five thousand students.OAU is nt lyk other business oriented school that award first class to unqualified students.78 out of 5249 + 3363 (I am assuming that some of the postgrad students also get first, second, third class honors). So less than 1%. |
opadiya: how does this affect the price of garri?Bros...it isn't by force to click the thread, view/read any of the posts, or even comment. |
Sure. Most of the black women I've dated have been African American. I don't have a problem dating or marrying one, so long as she is "in tune" with African culture (or is willing to learn rapidly). |
I am biased against most of the social sciences and humanities. However, if my child has talent in say History, I won't discourage him/her from studying it. |
