Your reading comprehension skills are lacking. I noticed it earlier in the previous thread when you didn't understand what I meant by sample size, and I'm noticing it now again. At any rate, as a thought experiment for yourself, think about if it is possible for immigration to both (a) change the demographic balance of a state while (b) not pushing indigenes off of their homelands, which I guess is the red herring your post is meant to follow. |
bashr4:Have no beef with me. Take up issue with the white man who came to the Eastern minority areas to investigate the need for a state for them. Willinks might be dead, but perhaps he has a descendant you can complain to ![]() |
ezeagu:Most of what I wrote is correct. The part that might be incorrect ("certainly was not in the past" ? Well at least the old Rivers State area was not majority Igbo, as of 1957.See Chapter 7, page 47 (well, 57 in a PDF reader) of the Willinks Report: http://www.adakaboro.org/thewillinkcomm |
Toaskarity:Rivers is Igbo? It is probably majority Igbo now but certainly was not in the past. Large chunks of it are historically non-Igbo. BTW, what makes you so certain the Igbo groups in that state would want to go with you? ![]() (by you, I'm guessing that you are a hinterland Igbo from the SE zone. if this guess is wrong, my bad.) Even in PH today, they are hesitant to sell land to hinterland Igbos. So I don't see why you have some sort of extraordinarily high claim to that state. Does the changing demographics (of certain non-indigenous Igbo groups moving into to Rivers) give you ownership of that territory, in the event that Nigeria splits up? |
Ok, but will you accept a SS forming its own separate country, without any influence from any of the so called WAZOBIA.
I would make the following three requests (from NC, SS, and SS): 1) I'd ask for Kwara and Western Kogi to be able to choose which way they want to go (and any other parts of the middle belt, for that matter) 2) I'd ask for the same for the Itsekiri 3) I'd ask for 10 or so years of cash to smooth the transition period I'd ask for these three things, but be willing to do without any of them, if it comes to that in the scenario you propose. |
Your point about revenue generated relative to the former Eastern region is correct and true. All I am contesting is which zone generated the most. This is why in hindsight I think Awolowo screwed up btw. He should have just stayed in the Western region rather than bothering with federal politics. Imagine what the region would look like today if he hadn't made that decision? |
No no no I'm not advocating for SS to go with Igbo (except the Igbo speaking part if they choose to). What I meant was if hausa form their country, Igbo goes WITHOUT the SS (except those that choose to go with Igbo), the Yorubas form their country, will you then accept a SS nation on its own, without the influence of the so called WAZOBIA?BTW, Itsekiri is part of the SS, they have oil and my want to unite the Yoruba nation.
Yes, I understood your question and already gave my answer. The "you" was a general you, not you as in you alex101. |
Toaskarity:I don't understand how in this proposed situation in which 5 of the 6 zones have decided to split up and go separate ways, how one of them can decide it wants to enslave the other. Why exactly should I be in support of this? I don't see how it would be justified, or justifiable. Kindly explain how this is the same as 1 zone deciding to leave. . . ? |
Lets assume Hausa goes, Igbo goes (both fine by you), if SS decides to go and form their own country/nation, will that too be fine by you or are you going to fight the SS in staying with you?
That would be pretty unjust, I think. I don't really see how you can do that, especially in a setting in which Nigeria has all but completely disintegrated. |
Go ahead and declare independence then. After all, the stars are aligned, are they not? What are you waiting for? Let me even give you a good pretext. In case you haven't guessed yet, Igbo 2015 is definitely not going to happen. Surely that should be enough of a pretext for another secession attempt, yes? Let's get it done |
But he is correct in saying that North was wealthier than the East. Oil changed the fortunes of the East dramatically |
I would suggest choosing a new capital in a proposed Odua Republic. One that can be built from virgin land, master-planned, and one which there are no indigenity issues. That way the Awori and other Lagos State indigenes can enjoy their own. Somewhere on the coast in Ogun or Ondo, I would suggest. |
Toaskarity:Hehe. See, that is why you'll never get your Biafra. While there is oil in that ground, it isn't going with you. If you want a Biafra of just the SE zone, I personally don't give a damn whether you go or not. But if you want to carry Rivers State too? Then time for war |
Go and look it up, proceeds from palm oil and coal contributed a miniscule amount compare to Kano groundnuts. Don't try to rewrite history, some of us are not blind almajiris. We are on to your tricks. Cocoa and groundnuts were Nigeria's two major exports until petroleum surpassed both in 1965. Proceeds from groundnuts were the highest, from Cocoa 2nd, while pail oil was not even a distant third.
Where did you see this? Do you have actual #s, or is this just your general impression? Revenue-wise the Western region was a lot wealthier than the North or East pre-oil. . .at least this is my impression based on what I've read. |
What I see here is nothing but hypocrisy and cowardice on the part of nigerians, predominantly by those of southern extraction. So because boko haram is threatening hell on nigeria, people are shouting: give them their sharia state, let them go form arewa republic. If this was MASSOB carrying out these extreme measures just to realise their goal, you will see these same maggots of southern extraction saying and chanting: NO, we need each other, one nigeria Freaking hypocrites! Does it mean one nigeria is bad with the phocking dirty hausa/fulani in it, but good with Igbo in it? Dem tie us together? ![]() May Amadioha stike down the lineage and the entire ethnic group that will ever open their smelly and speak against MASSOB's noble cause,,,,,AMEN!
Hausa can go, Igbo can go. I don't care. SS I'd like stay, though. After all, they are paying the bills. Hausa is not. |
Unfortunately, I think they would object to being given say the states that voted for Buhari as their own country and independence. I think they want a Sharia state, but one funded by the ND. Or perhaps to turn all of Nigeria into a Sharia state? |
No posts, no comments? Na wa o So many are hypocritical, biased, and full of an agenda Very shameful lot. |
You are a persistent guy, lol |
4 million is not even $30K. $6k per kid. . . that isn't going to be enough to raise, feed and educate them to decent standards (quality high schools + some sort of technical training or university after that). Feeding alone is not enough, imo. . . doing that alone just makes more almajiris. Btw, in case it isn't clear, I'm not expressing surpise at the possibility of this happening. It happens here in the US too. But at least in the US, there is a social safety net. You can send your kids to decentish public schools for free, there are plenty of jobs, there is welfare, etc, etc. So the penalties for shortsighted behavior are less painful. I'm expressing surprise more at the total lack of responsibility behavior like that represents (unless you are very well off). |
naijaking1:Isn't she part of the "petroleum cabal?" Hehe |
How does one have 5 kids by age 35? crazy |
