The title is hugely misleading. . . N40 is almost certainly wrong. |
J12:Pretty sure they are doing in both states |
Whether ACN bought the judgement in Ekiti State or not misses the point. PDP never won the election there to begin with. And I say this as a man whose town voted PDP in the 2007 election (to my shame) |
It is good news. Kudos to Aregbe for getting this done. And for having a specific date for when they'll start. I said most of my opinions on the matter on the thread I made earlier. Jensinmi is against these sorts of things, from what I recall from the thread. |
wales:Interesting. Is this source private or public? Anyway, I'm pretty pro-Walmart. Hopefully this experiment works out well for both sides. |
I'm not sure that a state investing in private business is the best idea. Better to let the private sector invest and make your money through taxing them, I think. |
Err, it looks like N8.50 to N10. . . . http://allafrica.com/stories/201107010477.html Not the N40 per kWh in the OPs post Tribune is a very useless newspaper |
I don't even understand why a state government is owning hotels. |
Excellent move! |
Hehe You are right though, the high population growth rate of the NW and NE zone will be a problem someday soon for the rest of us, I think. |
N30 or N25 makes more sense imo. N40 is too high. |
Anyway, at OP. . . may the mighty lords of the West continue to dominate their opponents ![]() ZnO:No, you missed my point. Anyways, looks like the H2H result is 5-4 in favor of Heartland since April 4, 2004: http://www.footballdatabase.eu/matchs_seek.php?numclub1=1949&numclub2=1950&club1=Heartland&club2=Shooting%20Stars |
If I'm reading that table correctly, Shooting Stars and Heartland have a 4-4 head to head record? |
lol |
I wonder if the Falcons would have done better if they'd composed the team differently Nigerian soccer also has not been relevant since the 90s. What happened? I don't know much about soccer though, isn't my sport |
Is he related to BAT? Anyway, he is right |
ZnO = Okafor Chinedu's cousin (the guy who got KOed in the OPs post) Tell your cousin to protect his chin next time, son |
On a serious note though, kudos to Fashola for supporting sports. And nice to see his investment paying off. |
Hehe Karate, boxing and basketball. Three of the most noble sports of men. We hail thee, brave warriors. A modification of a quote from a famous Nigerian seems appropriate: Yet they came to the SE, they saw the irresistible defence put up by their opponents, and they conquered impressively, convincingly, and were graceful even in victory! |
Roflmao I only heard about planking a few days ago. It is kind of funny, I don't see why it should be banned. |
@iragbijile: I understand your point and agree with it. That is not why I am calling him pathetic. His rationale for asking that the slot be zoned to the SE is weaksauce, basically: In a letter to the Senate President, Ngige said the appointment of Akume, who hails from the same Benue State as Mark, negates the principle of federal character.Federal character, marginalization? Anyway they debunked his criticism in the same article, so no big deal. |
Just finished watching it all. Was soooo good! Tracks the book quite closely too. |
I thought it has always been known to be there, but just not commercially viable to extract it. . . ? In other words, too much investment required, and not enough oil to justify the investment. |
How much are the other states in Nigeria paying monthly in servicing debt? Someone should post a full table for us to see and compare. As I said earlier, I don't think Ogun is anywhere near one of the most indebted states in Nigeria. See this, for example: http://www.dmo.gov.ng/oci/subn/docs/Federal%20and%20States%20Debt%20Stock%20as%20at%20Dec%2031%202010.pdf So I'd really like to see a full list of how much each state has deducted per month. |
Gbawe:No worries. We all want what is best for the SW zone, so passions might flare up a bit. Nonetheless , I still think you are rather lacking in objectivity when discussing ACN governors considering what they met on the ground. We all know how some PDP Governors ran their States into the ground . No excuses will be accepted , for non-performance, even after a year but are you not a tad unrealistic expecting Amosun and Ajimobi not to embark on a period of taking stock , in less than a month on the job as incoming Governors, to help them determine how they will proceed forward?I don't have a problem with taking stock, I have a problem with sensationalism or what might be outright lying. If OGD truly commissioned a power plant from the 70s that is somehow non-functional, then who signed off on it? Why is he pretending as if selling off Olumo Rock or whatever is what will cause one to borrow for salaries (not the salaries of the new minimum wage mind you, the old ones)? The issues are nearly unrelated, I think. . . federal allocation is almost certainly what is funding the lion's share of recurrent expenditure, not IGR. Anyway, we all agree that OGD didn't govern well. Fine. But I feel like he talking too much about problems (and adding fake problems on top of them) rather than offering solutions. Every time Ajimobi and Amosun speak they qualify their statement with action plans but you conveniently seem to miss that. did Amosun , in the same article you claim he is b.itching in, not state that he will review all concessions of Ogun assets ceded by the OGD Government ? What more can he do than that? Abrogate signed contracts autocratically?See above. |
Clever move by the ACN. Ngige is behaving in a pathetic manner, lmao |
Dgunnerz:Hehe. Well said ![]() |
Gbawe:Gbawe. You wrongly accused me of an ad hominem attack. I ignored that. The text above as you very well know is irrelevant to this thread and my criticisms of Ajimobi. And this is not the first time you've tried this particular tactic when defending an ACN governor. I'll ignore it once more, but please do not do it again. Let's discuss the issues only rather than bringing up what is not relevant at all. |
