HealthRecession Causes Negative Impact On Mental Health by Ekykool(op): 8:26pm On Nov 21, 2016
Study reveals that there is a sharp increase in number of people suffering stress, anxiety and depression because of redundancies and job insecurity.

National and international research shows rates of mental health problems are higher among those who are unemployed. On average, 34 per cent of unemployed people experience psychological problems, compared to 16 per cent of those
employed. Men and blue collar workers experience more distress due to unemployment than women and white collar workers. Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems.

Presently, some oil rich countries which include Venezuela and Nigeria are battling greatly with recession.

HealthWorld Toilet Day: Nigeria Ranked 3rd In Countries Without Safe, Private Toilets by Ekykool(op): 7:41pm On Nov 19, 2016
World Toilet Day is an important reminder that plumbing and sanitation are a blessing to many. Diarrhea resulting from poor sanitation such as inadequate toilets and dirty water kills 315,000 children yearly, according to estimates by WASHwatch, an online project that collects data on water and sanitation.

Research by the charity found that more than 100 million people on earth are forced to practise what's known as 'open defecation' - using roadsides, railway tracks, or plastic bags as a toilet.
Here are the top 10 countries with the most urban dwellers without safe, private toilets:
1. India
India has the highest number of urban dwellers who do not have access to safe and private toilets - 157 million people.
Eight Olympic-sized swimming pools could be filled daily with excrement produced by India's 41 million urban residents who must defecate in the open.
2. China
China, which also has a massive rate of rural to urban migration, is the second worst, with 104 million people without safe sanitation.

However, WaterAid also ranks China top of the “most improved” countries for reaching the highest number of people in urban areas with safe, private toilets. The state has managed to build sanitation facilities faster than the pace of new arrivals, providing more than 329 million people since 2000 with urban sanitation systems, outpacing population growth by 9 million

3. Nigeria
A newly launched report on the 2016 State of the World Toilet by WaterAid Nigeria has revealed that 130million representing 71 percent of Nigerians lack access to safe, private toilet. 58 million people out of the number living in urban cities lack access to improved sanitation facilities and 13.5million urban dwellers defecate in the open, the report further noted.
Other countries that make the top 10 list are:
4. Indonesia
5. Russia
6. Bangladesh
7. The Democratic Republic of Congo
8. Brazil
9. Ethiopia
10. Pakistan

According to research, every $1 spent on sanitation and water generates a $4.3 return in the form of reduced health care costs.

CultureRe: Villagers Gather For 'Spiritual Cleansing' In Omambala River In Anambra. Photos by Ekykool(m): 2:20pm On Nov 16, 2016
ianSweet:
What u are saying is exactly what am saying. I support we Africans promoting and reforming our progreesive cultures to make it look fascinating and appealing to others but i can never support a spiritual ritual festival like above which involves deities. God forbid.
We have to drop all regressive practices like idolatory or all practices involving gods and godesses.
You don't know what you are saying and you don't want to learn. Search on "Olili Obibia Eri" or "Eri Festival" to know about the purpose of the festival and most importantly, the purpose of going to that river to pray.

THE FACTS

From historical findings, Eri from Israel was the fifth son of Gad, the seventh son of Jacob (Genesis 46:15-18 and Numbers 26:16:18). He migrated from Egypt with a group of companions just before the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt many centuries ago.

They travelled by water and finally arrived at the confluence of Ezu and Omabala (Anambra) Rivers, located in present-day Aguleri, where, according to oral tradition, it was spiritually or divinely revealed to Eri that the point was to be their final destination and settlement. They moved into the hinterland and settled in the present-day Aguleri...

I went to the school today. It wasn't easy checking the names sent to my mail on the register because there are many names on it. The office was very welcoming as well.

For those still interested in going there, the office is at Room 2, upstairs the PG school building.

I don't think there is any need for panic though. The register looks well detailed and articulated to me. I feel that Unizik accepted all our transcripts and took proper record of it

I've not confirmed mine. I will go down there tomorrow to do that. And yes, someone else can help you check it. I told a course mate to check mine yesterday but she couldn't find my name.

I heard a troubling news that some transcripts cannot be found. Please go to the PG school to confirm if your name is in the register.
