My sister has a Neco Result and NCE certificate. Will the two be enough to apply and secure bachelors degree in germany.

Please advice on what she would need in other to meet the entry requirements.

She qualifies for direct subject-restricted admission for bachelor degree in the subject area of her NCE.

If you recently did this, cancel your booking and then rebook with the correct names.

However, looking at what you uploaded, maybe they misinterpreted your grade to be the German grade. A 4-point grade is very low according to German scale.

1.0 to 2.5 are the common range for admission into Master programmes here.

For instance you are in Spain and you have been admitted by a school in France or Germany, what step do i need to take

All you need is your admission letter, address in the said country, proof of sustenance and your Spanish residence permit. Go to the foreigners office of the city and apply for residence permit.

And for those that already have a bachelor degree, on arriving Germany you can begin job hunting with it while doing your second bachelor degree or masters program.

All you have to do is go to "recognition and advice centers in Germany" section of Anabin website, select your federal state of residence and send your documents to the responsible office. You would be required to translate your degree to German between.

Don't look down on your Nigerian certificates and no time to waste.

So I have to narrow my search for schools that accept HND, then also check If they offer Computer Engineering.

Not just computer engineering. You can search and apply for any science related courses. For instance, you can apply for Mechatronics, Informatics, etc.

Since it is written there, you need it. Go with either IELTS/TOEFL/Letter of English proficiency/Waiver email from university, which you used to get your AL.

It won't raise a red flag. It has been done in the past by applicants.

Print out you may not be interviewed but they will tell you to scan the original to them and they give you date immediately

This should be your first option. If he can't meet up, you have to go with what I recommended.

Truth be told. I usually think that I would be able to work whenever I leave Nigeria for studies abroad. But I am here now and sometimes I wonder how I would be able to have supported myself if I was not sponsored by the school. To even find time for oneself after project reports, assignments and reading for exams is too hectic.
Thank God for scholarships.

NB: if you have to work abroad you may have to sacrifice your academic results for the cash. If you're for your academic pursuits, you better leave the job thingy.

Depending on your city, you could find out what is more common. Also, your mindset matters. In as much you need money, never settle for bs. Here in Germany, we have internship (Praktikum) and working student (Werkstudent) offers. We also have lots of manufacturing and logistics companies that offer temporary help (Aushilfe) jobs. They all pay very well. I believe the same should apply over there in Canada.

Just to encourage everyone waiting on the issuance of appointment date.

Many here are due for renewal of residence permit and have sent in applications through post and/or email. But the delay this time is scary. The pandemic affected the process here too. I had to settle for Fiktionsbescheinigung for now. We are hearing that the lockdown could be extended until Jan 31st. This also translates to further silence from the consulate in Lagos. Note that they work hand in hand with the foreign offices here.

Irrespective of this delay, remain optimistic for this new year.

Hello, just to clarify, I always had the impression that higher semester admission only works if you're transferring from another MASTERS degree. Is it possible to apply for with only BSc for higher sememster masters? Or do you intend to apply for another Bachelors degree? Kindly clarify.

It is for those applying for another Bachelors.

For FHWS hopefuls that missed the winter window, summer semester application begins 15th November till 15th January.

Summer semester is only possible for those applying for higher semester.

To be eligible you must have the following credit points from equivalent courses from your previous degree;

2nd semester: from 23 ECTS-Points

3rd semester: from 53 ECTS-Points

4th semester: from 83 ECTS-Points

5th semester: from 103 ECTS-Points


If you already have your vpd from uniassist no need to apply for another. Simply wait for the portal to open then apply as usual.

You can also book for visa appointment on time.


The summer semester programme begins mid March 2020.

The type of jobs aren't specific per se. Events have shown that submitting CV's indicating possession of drivers licence have very high acceptance rate. In other words, majority of companies need flexibility from their applicants, which includes having a driver's licence.

Also, the pay could reach as high as 15 Euro per hour.

Lastly, there are always jobs for people with driver's license.

Your decision should be borne out of your goals. What do you want to achieve?

I can give some helpful tips based on my understanding of the city and the country in general.

1. If you no send School say na hustle carry you come abeg go for Masters. No run another bachelor abeg. (I no talk say Masters easy o)

2. Abeg check yourself again. Know wetin you fit do and wetin be your goal. Engineering here in FHWS na serious matter o. E don humble men here o. See where alaye dey gather for tutorial to survive.

3. Start your house search earlier. SWG, Studentenwerk etc.

4. I posted earlier, abeg if you dey drive carry your international drivers license come. Na soft work you go dey do here.

5. For we wey dey try to strike balance between hustle and school we dey keep open mind to travel to nearby cities to work if Schweinfurt don full. Yes, we dey vex because top companies full here. We no suppose dey struggle to get jobs. The truth be say most of this companies no dey give short term contract. Na 6 months be the least. Believe me we are still doing fine irrespective of the situation.

7. Lastly, to get good internships no dey difficult for our programmes here. Get am for mind say when you come here you go dey improve on your skill set like Deutsch, programming, project management, SAP, etc. Your degree alone go still give you spots but the goal is to be in demand. You no go like make "dem dey rush" You?

They can't extend beyond Nov 14, and yes you can enroll by proxy. I believe the duration is okay for the embassy to process your visa.
