Hello folks! For those that drive, make sure you come to DL with your drivers license. You can thank me later. And for FHWS hopefuls, come with your previous degree course module handbook. 7 Likes 1 Share |

WARNING: Long read. Finally, I have my passport stamped with visa! Interview date: August 16th Funded BA: August 27th AM arrival: September 13th Passport & Insurance submission: September 14th Passport arrival:September 19th Thanks to God Almighty who made everything possible. Also, thanks to the wonderful people on here. Actually the journey started September last year after deciding that I would further my studies at Germany. My first call was to register with Goethe Institut Lagos. Secondly, I followed the German student visa thread on Nairaland. While reading through, I saw that I was on the right path. Advices like "knowing the language is the meal ticket here, use google search to get any answer you want, choose your course wisely..." were so helpful. I wanted a bachelor course that has a combination of management and engineering even though I have a CGPA more than enough for a masters degree. After my search on DAAD, I settled to apply to schools that accepts English proficiency letter, such as: Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) - B.Eng Business & Engineering. Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) - B.Eng Engineering & Management (NC). Hochschule Trier, Umwelt-Birkenfeld - B.Eng Sustainable Business & Technology. Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) - B.Eng Industrial Engineering/Maintenance and Operation. I got admission letters from every one of them and settled for FHWS considering important factors. Here I am today with a visa, German B1 certificate (thanks to my teachers such as Frau Frances , Frau Solomon , Herr Musbaudeen , Herr Tunji , among others), and a course of my choice (not JAMB choice lol). Advice for newbies: All you need is on this thread. Go back to as far as 2016 thread. Read and read! You could end up becoming an agent. As for those going for another BSc, prepare for test questions in order to ease pressure that may arise during interview. You can ask for previous transcripts on the test questions. They are helpful. Also, dont just see this opportunity as an escape route. You can settle for that dream course you have always wanted. For those with only WAEC/NECO (which is not equivalent to German Abitur), read through what it takes to make it in Studienkolleg. Be truthful to yourself. If you don't have the capabilities to make the B1 Zertifikat and study in German at Studienkolleg, simply go get registered at NOUN to complete a 100 Level course or get admitted to any other university or get an A Level certificate (Note: check the school's requirements), then apply to German universities. German A1 and A2 are fun, not until you get to B1. Topics like Adjektiv Deklination, Verben mit Präpositionen, and B1 grammars are not child's play. Simply read Jigba's diary on here on Nairaland to learn more. Bis später! 26 Likes 3 Shares |

Arrived the embassy today at 4:50am. Mr Paulinus arrived 5:30am. Then around 6:10am we were checked in for documents arrangement. Mr Paulinus: Listen to me carefully and adhere to my instructions Mr Paulinus: originals and photocopies here, here and here. Mr Paulinus: for academic documents, arrange them from the least to the top. I understand that some of you don't have primary school cert. If WAEC is your least document then place it first. Then I went into the security checkpoint. Security: Do you have phones with you. Security: You are not allowed to bring in phones here. Hand it over to me. *Gives me a tag and places my phone in a box* Then I headed for the VOs office. There are four cubicles. No 2, 3 and 4 were the only ones operating at that moment. It got to my turn and it was cubicle 3. The pretty woman with dreads. Me: Good morning. VO: Good morning. Your documents pls. What are you applying for? VO: Why BSc, why not MSc? VO: You are applying for BSc in Business & Engineering, but you did Management course in your previous degree, how? VO: Oh, you were a science student in secondary school? VO: Why this course? VO: Igbo people and business VO: You are from Anambra state, right? VO:What do you know about Germany? VO: Why not Nigeria? VO: Why not US, UK or Canada? VO: How are you planning for your stay? VO: You have learnt the German language to B1 level. You started when? VO: You have just Zertifikat B1, where are the A1 and A2 certificates? I can see only attendance certs from Goethe. VO: This is higher though. Tell me more about the city you are headed for? VO: That's all. Pls you would write a short test in 10mins. Test Questions: 1. √49, √144, √196 2. Quadratic equation. 3. Volume of a cube, with 4cm at the l, b and h 4. What is volts and its abbreviation? 5. What is ohm and its sign 6. Explain the centrifugal force (Fliehkraft). 7. Mention 3 fundamental subjects in Mechanical Engineering. VO: *crosschecks the answers from her PC* VO: Okay. Pls fund your account asap and forward it to our mail. That was it. All glory to God Almighty. 24 Likes 2 Shares |
