We should stop expecting Paul Pogba to perform wonders and magic alone! He's surrounded by average Players in the Middle - Rooney and Fellaini precisely!
shocked

Rooney and Fellaini were not there against Feyenoord when Pogba had his worst day. He practically starved Rashford on the night.

Find another excuse for Pogba. Rooney was in that midfield when we won two matches in Wembley to win the FA cup. He was there playing like it was Scholes in action in our final matches last season. His fellow midfielders, Carrick and Fellaini were happy.

Didn't you watch the match. It was Shaw who stopped running towards Zunga that allowed him a free shot. Even in your screenshot, between Shaw and Rooney who is closer to Zunga? Rooney was even playing number 10 and should have no business in this zone.

This kind biased analysis dey make me dey defend Rooney. Even these English press sef wey dey want make them drop Rooney for Liverpool players in national team.

Nothing so interesting about that chart by SIRcumalot. Do you want Fellaini to pass back to DDG?

BOSS: YOUNG'S ATTITUDE MUST RUB OFF

Jose Mourinho feels Ashley Young's positivity needs to act as an example as Manchester United aim to bounce back from three successive defeats.

The games keep coming thick and fast with a trip to Northampton Town in the League Cup followed by an early start next Saturday against champions Leicester City at Old Trafford. Just as the manager was not getting carried away after the fine start to the campaign, he was refusing to be too down after the 3-1 reverse at Watford.

"I have this capacity of balance," he told
MUTV . "Balance is, for me, not running around the pitch when we were winning a couple of matches and nobody sees now me being too depressed. I'm sad. Obviously, I'm sad but, as I was telling the players, there is only one way.

"At 10:30 in the morning, we have a training session and we have to be there. They have to work, they have to show themselves with a certain kind of attitude towards negative moments. I show them, as an example, Ashley Young who was, in my opinion, phenomenal with his attitude, positivity and determination.

"We need positive people to give us a positive feeling because, next time these boys are going onto a football pitch, they are going to feel, obviously as normal human beings, the weight of the defeats."

What we do with the ball is so poor and it's affecting what we do without the ball. If Jose sets up his team to make proper use of the ball we wouldn't be having these discussions.
That was evident yesterday. There are times we needed to keep the ball for long after regaining it, the next it is a sudden long ball.

I also think Rashford should be starting from the bench. His decision making is poor. We already have Martial whose decision making is not yet fine tuned. So we should go with Mata or Young as one of the starting wingers. Each time Young drifted to the middle yesterday, he looked sharp carrying the ball forward.

Mourinho should fish out the sluggish ones, he has to get them to work or they go to the bench. The defence appears to play too close to the goalkeeper. I don't think Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Fellaini and Pogba are mobile enough. Just my thinking as we don't have the detailed stats.

YOU WERE SHAWFUL

Jose Mourinho blames Luke Shaw for Manchester United’s 3-1 loss at Watford and raps England left-back’s mental attitude

JOSE MOURINHO slammed his full-back Luke Shaw after Manchester United collapsed to a third straight defeat .

The Special One was fuming with England left-back Shaw when he failed to get close enough to Nordin Amrabat as Juan Zuniga went on to put the Hornets 2-1 up on 83 minutes.

Mourinho, who had words with Shaw after subbing him a minute later, said: “At 1-1 everyone thinks we are going to win the game because we were showing complete control, intensity and creativity.

" The game was there to win and never to lose.
“But their second goal is a mistake that goes against our plan and against our training, because our intention was for their wing-backs to be pressed and not let them progress.

“And what happened was the guy gets the ball 20 to 25 metres away from our box and instead of being pressed, we give him the space to progress.

“And when he was inside the box we were not confident enough to tackle.
“For the second goal, Amrabat receives the ball and our left-back is 25 metres from him instead of five.
"But even at 25 you have to jump and go and press. But no, we wait.
“This is a tactical but also a mental attitude. It’s something that doesn’t become perfect in a couple of weeks. So we have to improve, no doubt.”

The United boss now finds himself in the middle of a major crisis in his second month at Old Trafford , following losses to Manchester City, Feyenoord and now Watford, who celebrated a first win over United for 30 years .

And it was the first time since he was boss of Porto in 2002 that Mourinho had suffered a hat-trick of defeats.
He was also upset with ref Michael Oliver as he felt Anthony Martial was fouled by Miguel Britos ahead of Etienne Capoue’s opener for the home side.
Mourinho added: “Once more a crucial decision.

“It was a little bit like the game at Old Trafford against Manchester City.
“History will say the result, not the double wrong decision by the referee and linesman a few metres away.

“The game was going well, the pressure was there. One isolated counter-attack they scored.
“But on top of that we had our individual mistakes. When in the stadium everyone was thinking about Man United scoring a goal to win the game, we made a mistake.”

Men......y'all niggas wail too much on this thread over nada?

Our season is not yet over for _fucks sake! Its only 3 games lost so why is it always so dreary in here? Or are we now totally convinced that city, spurs, liverpool, chelsea or arsenal are not going to lose any more games till may?

Any united fan questioning pogba or mourinho knows absolutely nothing about football! Jose is a world class coach and pogba is a world class player..end of story! The problem with this team is 3 fold...Joses tactics, team selections and nepotism...that's all!

But knowing jose, he would rectify these problems sooner rather than later! Let's read about the way forward or how we can get the best out of our under performing players or even about what sort of midfielders can come in to support pogba and not all this constant tripe about pogbas fee or joses last season at chelsea! Leave that mess to the trolls but abeg let's be more positive about our chances this season!

34 games left......................
The problem is that we are in a season where mistakes would prove very costly. All the top teams would hardly lose to small teams. City looks like a team that is ready to reach 90 points. You don't get there by losing two many matches. A team that aspires to win the league should not lose more than 3 matches the whole season.

When I said Mourinho lacked the balls to exert his authority on our 'untouchables', I wasn't wrong. I repeat, how Mourinho handles the problem in the article below will prove his success or failure, I said it a long time ago and this article just reiterated my opinion.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/sep/18/wayne-rooney-manchester-united-midfield-mess-jose-mourinho
The person that wrote this article didn't know where Rooney played. Rooney was not the deep lying playmaker. He was not even the box to box midfielder. Rooney was the number 10 behind the striker.

Mourinho's tactics is to get the number 10 to play far from the number 9 except when the ball gets into the final third. This was same reason Rashford was isolated when Pogba played behind in in the Europa.

Then the box to box midfielder is allowed to roam even ahead of the number 10. This appear to be costing us. Pogba should be made to play close to Fellaini, or we can just revert to the way we ended last season. Carrick and Rooney in the midfield. Pogba can play in front of them.

But you sha, you decided to believe what another person said instead of what you watch. Just say na Rooney. You no know ball.

The midfielder we have currently is enough to bully most epl teams. The tactics is the problem. You can't tell me that if Jose asks them to always string passes and release the ball on time they won't be able to. We lacked a mobile midfielder and a creative midfielder last season and they were addressed by Jose signings. What is missing now is the tactics and the ability of the team to play as a team instead of rooting the ball up
May be you are right. Pogba plays too close to the left wing leaving a big gap for Fellaini to manage.

There is a disconnection between the number 10 and the number 9. Even in the Europa game. The tactics has to be improved.

Yes. I think Schneiderlin(Marker) Pogba/Fellaini(as box to box/runner) and an elite passer someone who can pass from deep a younger Carrick

But would you like it if Rooney is benched?
I wouldn't want that, but it can be for the benefit of the team. The coach needs to test what works best. And who says Rooney cannot win his place back from the bench? He can also play from the wing.

I believe a midfield should have a marker, passer and runner. If you are playing a game you are expected to dominate you can drop a marker or runner for an additional passer or when you are defending drop a passer for an additional marker

In Man Utd's midfield, who is responsible for the marking who is the elite passer? Most of the time you would see Pogba and Fellaini trying to do the same thing

And Mourinho I am not a fan of him and whatever I say would be termed as bad belle

But he always looks too reactive, waiting for opponents to make mistakes, if you are a a bigger team you dont wait for mistakes, you make plays and force mistakes from opponents you make them play to your tune. Siege mentality of them against us would only work when youre then underdog, Not when you are the most succesful club in the country
You are right. I thought Pogba was a runner who offers pace and power. But he seems to play the same way I saw him played under SAF in 2011/2012. He dribbled around without advancing directly with the ball. Decision making are sometimes suspicion. May be he will improve if he plays with better midfielders.

Schneirderlin is meant to be our marker, but it seems he is average in that duty.

Our good passers are old. Carrick and Schweinsteiger.

There has to be a solution to our current midfield. One of them has to give way to someone who can dictate the play.

I predict Mourinho would likely start a dressing room drama soon, announce some players are his problems and he would bench them. This move would be to take attention away from him.

Schweinsteiger would have been the obvious choice or any of the players he didnt buy. Maybe he would use Rooney as the scapegoat
I can see why Van Gaal ensured one of Carrick or Schweinsteiger was in his midfield. At least there is a level they can dictate the game with passes. Rooney also did that for us towards the end of last season. But Fellaini and Pogba aren't players who can put midfield in their pockets. Fellaini is hard working though, but Pogba and Rooney are big men, they fear injuries, mostly Rooney.

It looks like our midfield combination of Fellaini, Pogba and Rooney is wrong. Particularly as they play behind suggish Zlatan.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 3:53pm On Sep 18, 2016
I don't think the pair of Bailly and Smalling was the problem. Although it is true our passing out of the defence is better with Blind.

Two things worked against us today. First is playing long balls with Watford. It was obvious the long balls made us equals. We allowed them to drag us to the mud. The second thing is the referee's bad decision that led to the first goal. All the decisions went against us right from first minute. For this I cannot blame the defence. The centre defenders were also not at fault for the second goal. The two full backs were gone before the penalty.

We have to find a solution to our midfield. No one covers the front of the defenders when they run towards the goalkeeper. When we conceded to Feyenoord, the guy who scored sneaked just in front of the defence Unmarked. It was same thing today when Martial 'lost' the ball. This is probably why Carrick offers a better positioning than anyone right now.

Rooney and Pogba are not offering enough battle physically in the middle of the park even though they have the strength. Fellaini seems to be working hard alone in defensive duties. Zlatan is even dropping to charge oppositions better than Rooney and Pogba.

I think it's time now we try another player behind Zlatan. I will go for Herrera who has a fair share of everything required to play there as Mourinho wants it. Passing, ball retention, quickness, fast thinking and tracking back.

May be too Mourinho should start two strikers, Zlatan + Martial. We need some pace upfront. I won't pick Rashford because he has a long way to go in decision making.

Ashley Young looks sharp on the wing.

I think we shouldn't put pressure on Mourinho. Even we that have followed this team for years sometimes find it difficult to come up with what is the best combination for these players after each defeat. But he should stick to the basic for now, we all know that Martial is best at left wing position, but he started from the right while Rashford started from the left. Valencia substitution was questionable because Ashley Young appeared to be adding pace from the middle of the park (he was floating) before he was withdrawn to play for Valencia in the right back.

That was Luke Shaw's position to fill. He didn't bother to cover the vacuum left by those who went to cover for him. They passed the ball around him, then he forgot himself.

But generally, I cannot defend anyone today. I can only defend Fellaini. Zlatan has the work rate but his pace is no where. At his age he is more serious than most of the rest.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:02pm On Sep 18, 2016

These days we play against the referee and linesmen. We play against 12 or 13.

We didn’t try to take the game from Watford. We joined them in long and aerial balls instead of controlling the game somewhat. Zlatan's is showing in his match. He could have scored at least three already if he had speed.

Unimpressive Transfer market from Mourinho...It seems money has a way of Clouding Our Managers sense of reasoning.

I expected 3 Main positions to be filled up...CM, RW, CAM

A No 10===Miki was brought in and I am reserving my judgement on that.

A CM= Pogba was brought in but we needed a Deep lying playmaker someone that can control and dictate tempo like Carrick so far all I see in Pogba is a Ball hog with fancy dribbling.

A Striker= Ibrahimovic is probably more of a Business move than he is a Tactical move but you can't ask for much from a free Transfer.

Now I firmly believe, we Would be just fine without Bailly...Unnecessary waste of money if I be asked.

And a RW===We virtually don't exist on the Right flanks except for Valencia...We needed A World class RW that will send Ashley Young parking, Lingard on Loan and Mata benched....

STILL ON THE MATTER...FVCK MOURINHO.
Mourinho will not do badly this season. He will fix the team to his own taste in the next two transfer windows.

LOL. Finally, someone that confirms my fears.

The first time I saw Dadehmola/AdisaOwala's post, I thought to myself, 'this dude's post bears an uncanny semblance to that of Cøogar'. After a week, that notion was permanently engraved in my heart. Then after Cøogar battled someone on the Battle Rap section with Dadehmola supporting him (Cøogar actually won the match though), I wanted to ask him if he's Cøogar, but stopped few seconds before asking him that. I only stopped thinking he's Cøogar's alt account after he attacked Cöogar during the Cöogar-Babe3 saga. But I still have my reservations that Dadehmola bears many traits of Coõgar way of dissing and writing.

I've seen enough of Coõgar's disses to know when one is writing like him. E.g:

- you're not the sharpest tool in the box
- kerosene background
- when the creator was sharing imtelligence/commonsense you're back of the queue. . . And missed out (something like that)
- may it never be well with your blah blah blah. . .

Also Coogąr always dissed people about their village paying for their school fees/educational upbringing. grin grin

I strongly feel AdisaOwala is either Coogąr's alt or takes enough of his style when dissing. AdisaOwala, you be Coøgar? You both sound too familiar not to be one. grin

BTW, Nihilist, Looserfool dey rąpe una without condom. LMFAO!! grin grin but to be fair, they will win us too. I don't see us winning them with the snail-esque display we put up yesterday. My money is on Looserfool or City to win the league.
AdisaOwala is not Coogar. I don't think their writing style are alike as such.

AdisaOwala has actually evolved. When I first came here, he had the name 'dademola which he later changed to dadehmola. Now he bears AdisaOwala.

He has since improved his writing skills to a great degree, between when I first came here and now. I actually began to see an improvement from around late 2014. He must have put in some effort behind the scene which paid off.

There are many good writers here though. Some of the best writers are no longer regular here.
