Bruh. Aside from the fact dat Rooney was rarely in the box, his controlling was poor against Villa.
From he was not in the box to rarely in the box. The truth is coming out now.

You don't just sit in the box in football. Your team game determine where you will be Asta striker. Moreover, being always in the box means too you block the route to goal for other team mates.

AdeLaNa1:
And yes Aguero was surrounded by 4 defenders in d build up to his goal. Abi na radio commentary u dey use follow d match??
From dribble to surrounded. You don't know the meaning of dribbling.

Aguero wan kill Chelsea. He literally dribbled all 4 defenders to score!
Lool! Rooney can't even control ball and he wants to compete wit the likes of Aguero??
From inbox to dribble. grin

If you reversed Arguero and Costa roles in that first half, Costa would have a goal while Arguero would have no goal. This is because City is pressing and their team is more stable.

Also Costa in City would have been more inside the box. Costa was virtually stranded in the first half and had to drop to midfield.

But wait. Aguero dribbled four players? Na ur grandma black-and-white TV u dey use?

With that fat salary he takes? shocked. Make una dey fear God oooo. I heard Ronaldo organises personal/extra training for himself to sustain his top form. Cant rooney do thesame? The guy cant even control a pass,i mean control ordinary pass? Dia riz God o.
Rooney hired a personal trainer in summers of 2013 and 2014.

This was the first time he had a real vacation in three years. Last season he played many matches, he was obviously tired before the season finished.

He would have still trained but this was the shortest break I have seen in EPL. The league closed late in May and resumed first week of August. It's only sensible the players who had over 30 games rested well. EPL is very physical and long. Some players get tired before March. Tevez said this while at United.

U obviously ve'nt watched the highlights of the match. Rooney was nowhere in the box the whole duration from when Mata passed and wen Januzaj scored
Confirmed. You guys see Rooney upside down. grin

Rooney called for a pass from Januzaj before he (Januzaj) shot. Rooney was in a tap in position. Na you no see the highlight jor. If there was a rebound Rooney was on hand to tap in.
....

5th best... Top 20...

Looks like the CV of one desperately looking for something noteworthy to highlight as achievement.

Anyway, I don't care for what he WAS or DID before... I care about what he IS and DOING now!
You no know ball well well.

There two things to a player's ability. His skills and fitness. Same with a team.

If your fitness is lacking, your ability will be affected. You see average teams beating top teams at the start of the season and even being in top three till November. This is because small teams work more on fitness during preseason. That is the only thing going for these players and clubs. So they work on it very hard.

The good players usually rest very well during preseason haven played over 30 matches till May and national team games in June. So they resume the season with less fitness.

Bulky players are also slow to hit full fitness.

To cut a long story short, I think Rooney's fitness is about just 70% of what it should be. By September, before I can worry.

Okay, but sha no dey put mouth for their rooney matter, rooney will put people to shame this season, i'm banking on him to score more than 15goals
I decided never to argue Rooney this season. Throughout the summer I never talked about him in our preseason matches. It was only when somebody asked me what skills he possessed to play as a center forward that I responded. Funny enough, I did not even mentioned Rooney should play Centre Forward. They even forgot I was calling we buy a striker.

I was resigned to see how everything plays out since Rooney himself said he will score 25 goals and lied on his own head he played sole striker in 2011/12. So I left him to his fate. grin

But the problem is that they (Sinizia and co) keep calling me, tempting me to focus on Rooney. Now they have lured me back.... cheesy

My friend, Rooney's last good game was almost a decade ago!
And he won the PFA player of the year in 2010.

Made FIFA best 20 in 2014.

If that's what they feel about rooney, then allow them, it's their opinion... you have faith in me, same as me this season, if they don't, let them be, only rooney can change their minds about him not you
This is a continuation of the last argument. Until it ends before I can worry about a new post calling my name.

No. General play... I see him outside the box involved in buildup but yet somehow still manages to get back inside to be on the end of deliveries!
Firstly, Giroud can never be half of what Rooney is in football.

Secondly, Rooney was also in the box many times. Even when Januzaj scored, Rooney was right in the middle. Rooney was in the box when he missed to convert from Young in the first match. He ran in from the deep.

Thirdly, you didn't apply logic to this your post. If you applied it, we could say those players who played outside of the box for other clubs and scored load of goals are better than Giroud in modern football irrespective of their ratings. Yesterday I saw some strikers in lower club who didn't have much box activities but scored.

Jacide:
The availability of multiple applications like BBM, Skype, WhatsApp is eating up the revenues of major Nigerian Telecommunication companies. With the budding apps, calling and short message services have taken the back seat and as a result, the telecommunication companies are facing a massive loss of revenue.

A recent report has revealed that majority of the telcos have fallen some 30% decline in their expected revenue generation. Apart from this revenue drop statistics, the report also suggested that the companies could see an additional decrease of 20% in the total revenue. In order to reclaim the loss, some of the telcos have raised data price through the means of shaving, which is eventually hurting the broadband penetration in Nigeria.
How the shaving is done

The current data plans, irrespective of the network hardly last the expected duration it is meant to last, due to increased use of internet in Nigeria. For example, I’ve been a victim of Airtel on several occasions. Buying their so called 2GB BIS plan for 1,500 naira is suicide. The last time I used the service, I hardly got 200 megabytes of data usage before I was slammed with the reality of my “data is exhausted!” What a sham?

http://somtoo.com/nigerian-networks-introduce-shaving-to-balance-cheaper-data-costs/
You are right about Airtel. That 2gb is like 100 mb. I have abandoned them.

Aguero and Suarez are pacy forwards. They can afford to drop deep into midfield and help wit the defence and then get back up front in a flash wen the team is on a counter. Rooney played like dat in 09/10 season wen he still had some pace in him. But he cant play like dat now. He's older and he's gotten slower.

So many times on the counter yesterday wen Mata had the ball, Rooney was always behind the ball. A striker o. Behind the ball on a counter. Thats why all of our attacks were goin thru Depay. Watch and rewatch the highlights of yesterday's game and notice Rooney's position wen we scored and wen Mata gve dat pass that Depay missed.

Rooney is past his prime. He cant be dropping into midfield and be expecting to get service upfront wen he's not even there. He should leave midfield work to the midfielders and stay up front and focus on scoring more goals for us. Its dat simple
There was a counter started by Rooney yesterday in our own third from a set play. By time Januzaj got the pass Rooney was already in the opposition box. Unfortunately Januzaj doesn't know the meaning of counter. He is more obsessed with beating a man.

That reminds me of JS Park. It's just a pass. We were three or four against two.

The heat map said it all. It shows where a player was most active with the ball.

All strikers rarely stay in the box, except a pressing side like Arsenal.

I can also show AMCs drifting wide. Football is no longer traditional. Even Yekini pure traditional 9 came back to midfield occasionally.

No doubt, i agree. But you can't compare the GENERAL CONTRIBUTION of Suarez with Rooney. Suarez makes more impact in a match than Rooney even when he was in the average Looserfool team.
The facts remains that Suarez stays in midfield and wing. He is outside of the box number 9.

Wat we're all saying is dat he should focus more on staying in front and spear heading the attack and getting us goals dan dropping back and clogging up the midfield
He is not clogging any midfield. What then would your say of Suarez, Aguero, when they play 9.

Rooney played this way in 2009. How many times did he even came out. I saw him making runs but no pass.

TBH, i give less fúck about Kane. I'm happy our defenders shut him out because he's more dangerous than Rooney.

See, a striker of Rooney's caliber should have made more impact than Kane. He shouldn't even be compared with Kane. Can you compare Kane and Suarez?

In our preseason match with Barca, Suarez didn't score, but he ripped us apart. That's why he's that good. Rooney has no tangible contribution at all on top not scoring.
If I showed you Suarez`s heat map you will see that he doesn't sit inside the box.

Striking is not about sitting inside the box. Suarez is the king of evading the Centre backs. He could even go to camp in the wing while playing 9

Correct. Even that snapshots wrote he was no threat in the 18-yard box. That he was constantly dropping into the midfield. That's why i told you that Rooney was not even in the box for people to feed him the ball. He led the line from the midfield. grin
Gbam. When he didn't get service he dropped deep. But the bottom line is that he led the line well.

Remember too, Aguero and Suarez don't stay in the box but they get serviced. Also Rooney didn't play always in the box in 2009 /10.

It's the way he plays his 9 that Gaal likes.

So we should hail and commend a top striker for a club like United because he touched the ball 12 times and had accurate passes. A striker that touched the ball just once in the opponents 18 box.

Is that only what he should be doing for 90mins.
Exactly my point. RVP touched the ball 12 times last season and you all defended him. Rooney touched it 46 times, created 2 chances and you guys persecute him.
