What I say about that? Whoscored has something different. And stats were generally poor.

See RVP last season. The people who blamed Rooney now defended RVP with their blood last season for having 12 touches in a match. They even blamed Rooney for this.

He was in the box many times but Mata ways preferred to play with Darmian and long pass down to Memphis.

When he was not serviced he dropped out. However, even in 09/10 he was not always in the box.

Rooney had 2 key passes according to whoscored/opta. He had one interception and one clearance.

How did we fair without Jones in the run in last season? He was in the thick of the action when we won 6/6. When he injured, we lost about three matches in a row. He returned and we won our games again.

If you really read what I wrote you won't come up with this watery defence. I am talking about Rooneys last two performances, especially last night you are mentioning a match two years ago. SMH.

Why would we not concentrate on Rooney when he got 95% of everyrhing he did yesterday wrong while others at worst had 50 - 70% right. Did he not play pre season like the other players and should atleast give 60% as an experienced united player.

For me Januzaj was d other player I was not impressed with, but u know what he scoredm I still think Januzaj, Blackett should sent on loan and Evans should be sold.

You are even talking about our build up play being slow because the likes of Darmian and shaw don't bomb forward, its obvious LVG is the one causing that. He has clearly told them to always stay behind the ball and they are playing to instructions, that's why the midfield would always get the ball and lack options hence going backwards and sideways coupled with oga Rooney getting sucked into the middle to look for the ball.

How did he manage 2 key passes. Only Mata had more key passes 3. How did he get almost double accurate passes of what Januzaj got? He started some attacks and had good forward play where it necessary.

As for two years ago. I brought it up because it similar to your current hypocrisy. Rooney had 99% performance, the only 1% left will be highlighted with gif, stat and charts and you all will line behind the theory. So why should I not highlight other guy's weaknesses?

Lad is a fantastic player. You don't expect a 100% from a substitute, do you? No. But Herrera still comes on and gives us a 100%.

Slow your row. You should see that the team is looking better. You can't expect the team to play with all their might when they know there's an important match on Tuesday.

The leakages at RB has been plugged and that's a good thing. Also the build up play is getting better, marginally maybe.

Things aren't going to start looking good all of a sudden. Even cR7 didn't transform into a world class player in the blink of an eye.

If you can't see any positives then that's too bad.




BTW the Herrera you guys are clamoring for has been useless in the last 2 matches. He seeks the ball too much and easily loses possession whenn he gets it.

However I expect he'll come good in the new position he's playing.

In addition to the fact we just assembled our team, our build up play is struggling because we play deep defensive set up. Then our full backs are less ambitious.

Luke Shaw is not as good as Blind going forward in the flank. Darmian didn't do as good going forward as he did in his first game.

But for me, I am okay for now. This is a good approach. Many men behind the ball.

Rooney was not the only one who had misplaced passes. Schneiderlin, Smalling and even Tiger had misplaced passes.

We didn't get our passes going until about 30 minutes. In that period, Rooney didn't even get any service.

Even Mata lost possession in that period. This is a team that is still hitting gear.

What is important is three points, not individual glory. You can bring a striker for £50m and he flops like Falcao. Then we fall back on Rooney and Chicha again. Premier League is not easy.

The first game of the season, I happened to be in a hotel bar packed with viewers & you need to hear the deafening applause when the board went up for Herrera's introduction! The same scenes @ Old Trafford.

Suarez went to slot into a good team, he would ordinarily have assists. I wonder how many assists he had that period sef.

United is still assembling its creativity. There is also a disjoint between the midfield and forwards. Januzaj and Memphis didn't have a great day. Januzaj scored a beauty but he lost himself trying to do magics, and he killed a fine counter started by Rooney.

Impatience is growing only because it is Wayne Rooney. I have no doubt he will click. The team build up play is still in a process.

Last season Lewandowski scored 2 goals from his first 9 matches.

Suarez scored 2 in his first 10 matches. He didn't score any in his first 5 matches.

All Rooney needs to do is to avoid injuries. He has a good balance on the ball. Only match rhythm left for him and cohesion in our build up play.

With three games within two weeks, he should be getting into gear by next weekend.

Gaal has leant to play many men behind the ball. That's a big plus for us this season.

Heavily built players don't get match rhythm easily. They need to be playing.

Rooney was good on the ball and played well with his mates.

Those who said the performance was poor don't know what they are saying. Van Gaal is getting it right. The team will get better for sure. It is better to take less risk in our play as we just assembled a new team. In EPL you have to defend before you attack. Last season we were spreading too thin on the pitch. That was also David Moyes mistake. Now Gaal is making our defenders to be less ambitious. You can hardly catch a last man on one vs one.

This team will be great. I see nothing wrong in our defence as people suggest. Smalling did very well except on one occasion he passed straight in danger area to an opponent but we escaped.

Rooneymay have been poor, but honestly not too many quality balls got to opposition final third as we built too carefully. It was only after the subs we pressed well. Our defence is also playing deep which means we will push forward less.

Overall, I see a great team in the making. Mephis will be good. He is a young player in a new league.


Lest I forget. Romero is a good goalkeeper. His knows his box very well.

Despite the performance, I saw positives. Although he failed to trap two simple passes, he is better at the ball than last season. When the whole team play more cohesively, he will do better and score goals. By then he would have gained full match fitness. That is the way I see it.

I think the 180 minutes he had in the preseason was not enough to prepare him well for the start of the season. I am convinced Rooney cannot keep playing like this. I am sure.

As for those claiming Chicha should have come it. They know nothing about football. Removing Rooney will cause more harm and shatter him completely. He will need to play five to seven matches before the coach can consider substituting him.

The season is just starting. He is not yet in match rhythm. After two more matches, you will see Wayne Rooney if he doesn't injure. The most important thing is for him not to get injured as he is trying to get match rhythm.

It also shows he will not tire out too early in the season.

We should never buy a Spanish or German keeper again. They will always go back home when Madrid or Barcelona and Bayern Munich come calling. We were interested in Neuer but he didn't put us in consideration when Bayern called him.
