afrodoc: That you have speed does not make you a speed merchant. And a fast player will perform better when there is space behind, still does not make him a speed merchant. The disappearance of Mbappe is the shining level of most other players.
You might disagree with my assessment of him being the best right now, but you can’t just minimize him to a speed merchant. Dan James is a speed merchant. David Odonkor was a speed merchant.
Lastly, we have to avoid the trap of rating players using Messi/Cronaldo standards.
His speed helps him too, just like Ronaldo De Lima
GloryIsaac: His heading ability, predatory instinct and off the ball movement are unrivalled in the team. Might not be the best with ball at feet but he's clearly superior in the air, and is a concern for opposition. It's so beautiful how he moved to connect with Mason's cross. I doubt Mason would have crossed that ball if Tony was the one in Cavani's position, because Tony will likely drop deep to join in the build-up rather than position himself to be the final piece.
Also, the team now confidently crosses the ball high rather than the usual low crosses they used to serve pre-Cavani, and they now cross both from deep and the byline as well.
It's funny how one person's style of play has brought such changes to the team, and made it easier for the coach to be dynamic in his approach. Earlier, one would think the players were instructed to deliver only low crosses without considering that practically none of them could actually head the ball. Even Mason recently revealed that he has been working on his heading for a while now.
Also, his off the ball movement, both offensively and defensively, have played a crucial role. This is one major area Tony lacks in his game, and will need to improve if he hopes to lead the line next season.
Illimitable: The best comeback was preventing City from winning the PL at the Etihad on their supposed coronation day. Nothing will beat that game for years to come.
Those who have seen Man City’s Amazon documentary of their fans crying at half time hoping they win the game and the title that day would understand how massive that game was.
Down by 2 goals against Pep only for United to turn the screw in 45 mins with 3 goals is the stuff legends are made of. Pogba cemented his world class status that evening.
Is Pogba still world class? Sometimes he plays like Gibson
Man has brought a completely different dimension to the attack as regards the cross and nod game, as well as the predatory instinct and off the ball movement every top striker must possess.
World class. I respect him for this. I was getting tired of him before this goal as I did not see what value he added. Even the cancelled goal was a pure striker's goal
patrickmuf: The argument started when KingAlabi and Elampiro make reference to our comebacks with Ole in charge as if to imply that he is doing something unheard of to which the Illimitable guy brought up our come back wins when Mou was here...
What happened yesterday was a fallout from the earlier argument. In that first instance, I thought Illimitab.le was spot on as he busted that school of thought but when I saw the argument yesterday wherein he said there's nothing like a comebacks in a 2 legged tie, I just weak...
You have not seen anything yet. You are in for a long drawn out war with Illimitable. Fasten your belt.
The 3-0 to 3-5 comeback against Spurs is the best i can think of in the league. 5 2nd half goals and scintillating attacking football.
It was a great one.
But the circumstances surrounding that Eveeton match. 3 games left to play, I think we were 2 points above Chelsea. Mourinho Chelsea had won the league the two previous seasons. The situation was delicate and we were 0-1 down at half time. The match was unnecessary difficult, and then Everton scored a second early in the second half.
Ole is trying with his comebacks. But actually, there are comebacks, there are comebacks, and there are comebacks.
I never get tired if watching UCL final 1999 highlights. Also the semi final match at San Siro. Come back against Everton in the run in to 2007 league title. A few against Spurs. Last weekend was fine as well.
eleshin: I was surprised when I saw that comment. Anything to downplay his effort. Fred started the move for that goal and followed it up.
I saw the gif now in Manchester United IG page. Fred received the pass from Bruno, then Fred did one two with Rashford and opening space at the edge of 18 box. Fred passed to Cavani who got his effort saved.....
elampiro: I really don't know. What I know is that I am enjoying watching United more than before (since SAF left). I have more confidence we can win a match more than before. I have more confidence we can turn a score line around even in late minutes. I have more confidence we are not totally going to be outplayed by City, Liverpool, PSG, etc. Even if na Barca or Madrid
Where we go from here, I don't know yet. One or two great signings might just be the key.
Oasis007: Do you think with OGS in charge, he's not gonna become another VDB or Amad? That gonna need time to adapt?!

Oasis007: We need Harry Kane for next Season. We don't need Haaland but Harry Kane. Board should not extend Cavani's Contract, let him go. Let Mata and Matic go as well. Sell off Martial and free up wages, then add Harry Kane, solid DM and RW to the Squad.
If Pogba wants to leave, let him go, but must be replaced with a world class CDM/CM.
His legs are slowing already at 27 as noted by Scholes. He is already dropping deep to compensate for a drop in speed.
patrickmuf: Ole fan boys will defend him even if we get relegated...
When Madrid had Ronaldo alongside a younger Marcelo and a fit Carvajal, they played a fast pace direct football using their wings to devastating effect...
Now, with Ronaldo gone and Marcelo old, they rely more on their midfield to control possession and hurt their opponents...
Come to United and you don't know what exactly Ole is trying to do, we can't defend, our midfield play is one of the worst in the league and in attack, there's nothing to write home about but no, let's defend Ole like we are programed to do so...Una go tire.
Last season, you guys spent the whole of it arguing we should play like Liverpool using the full backs to attack. This season it is Madrid and City.
We have our unique players and the pattern has to be drawn to suit. Not trying to do what a team above us in the league is doing.
patrickmuf: In Pep's very first match as coach of City against Arsenal in a friendly, I could see that his intent on their play, the 2 CBs split when the goal keeper has the ball and the CDM drops back with the two fullbacks pushing higher up the pitch. I watched and took note of Pep already imposing his style in just his first match albeit a friendly...In that first season, you could see what he set out to do even though the personnel were poor and that alone is enough encouragement to give him the players he ask for.
It's the same with Klopp at Liverpool, from the get-go, you see what they're on about but with Ole here, its been 2 and a half years yet I don't seem to understand how exactly he wants the team to play, our defending is poor, our midfield play is poor (You can blame the players but then what have we seen to suggest there's something they're trying out?), our attack is also poor...At this rate, even if we get all our summer targets, I still don't see us winning the league with Ole.
Man City finished in the semi final before Pep inherited that squad. They had won the league not too long.
The United team needed a longer time of rework than City and Liverpool
