A Foreign Brother asked for #IMN programs during #Ramadan since the Fasting Month is upon us?

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky use to usher in the Ramadan season with donation of food items to neighbors of Sheikh Zakzaky in Zaria. All of them are Sunnis.

The first Ramadan after the Saudi-sponsored #ZariaGenocide, these people were brainwashed by the paid Saudi agents in Nigeria to publicly reject this food donation and scattered the food items on the streets.

After that barbaric action, they realized that they only cheated themselves. Since then they use to line up for the food donation.

Before the ZariaGenocide, Sheikh Zakzaky used to conduct the monthly exegesis of the Glorious Quran (Tafsir) at the Iconic Zaria Hussainiya. The Hussainiya was attacked, bombed and destroyed by the Nigerian army with hundreds of Worshippers inside. That was the biggest project ever embarked by the Movement. Tens of millions of Naira destroyed to please bloodthirsty Saudi Wahhabi barbarians. There were millions in the Safe vault of the Hussainiya then. Those money were stolen by the Nigerian army just as they stole all the money, phones and Jewelries of their Victims.

Rich members of the Movement use to sponsor Sheikh Zakzaky's past Quranic exegesis in Radio and Television stations across the North. Zonal Representatives of Sheikh Zakzaky are still conducting Quran exegesis in their Zones.

The Movement encourage self spiritual development and enrichment during the Ramadan season.

With the massive and unprecedented hunger in the land, I will encourage rich members of the Movement to concentrate on feeding the poor this Ramadan, especially the Sunni poor.

Our plans to establish a humanitarian NGO, Imam Hassan (as) Foundation, has started and sourcing for donations for Ramadan feeding should have been our first project. I want us to finish the registration with CAC first before sourcing for donations from the public. I don't know if we can complete the registration before the Ramadan ends.

The yearly #QudsDay Rally is the last Friday of Ramadan. This year's event like last year will start with "Fly The Palestinian Flag" challenge. Members of the Movement all over the country will fly the Palestinian Flag in solidarity with the Oppressed Palestinian Muslims and Christians. #FreePalestine

On a final note, this will be the last Ramadan Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife will spend in the illegal and unlawful detention of the genocidal criminals who murdered more than one thousand Shia civilians in Zaria in December, 2015.

On International Twitter Men's Day

On the Twitter street, today is the #InternationalTwitterMensDay. Unfortunately, some women are boycotting the Twitter street today out of protest against men's domination and "oppression".

Accusing and blaming men for all the wrongs of this world is the Feminist way. Creating hate between sex has it own evil agenda. One of it is to weaken and destroy family values and institutions.

Since some of our women sisters are absent on this street today, we will surely miss them but we can advise each other as men for the quest to have a sound society.

Looking down on the womenfolk and classifying them as inferior is the mark of the ancient barbarians. In Islam, men and women are equal but not similar. And trying to force women to be similar to men by Western Civilization is an extreme deviation. Must women be similar to men? If you want women to be similar to men then "men" is the standard of measurement to you.

Emphasis and obsession of women nudity by the Western Civilization is exploitative, degrading and barbaric. Why should women exposed most of their bodies to the public to be considered civilized? And why is Western Civilization not placing emphasis on men nudity, we ask?

The commercialization of women bodies and nudity by Western Civilization should stop just like Islam at it advent stopped the burying of female infants alive by the Arab barbarians.

We should all support Girl-child Education as educating women is more useful and important to the society than educating men. The laps of women is the first school of every child. A society that ignore women education is a society heading for self-destruction.

Supporting women’s rights will never make a man weak, it only makes the society strong. Having strong women in the world is never a threat to family values and institutions, strong women are valuable asset of a strong society.

Femi Falana (SAN) is absent in court today. Barrister Abdullahi Marshall is the lead Counsel of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife in court today.

After war criminal, Major General AK Ibrahim, has spewed his lies that they did not kill anybody and one of his soldiers was killed, Barrister Abdullahi Marshall asked him the following questions:

Q: Do you know that the Kaduna state government confessed to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry (JCI) that they buried 347 Shia civilians killed by the Nigerian army in Zaria?

A: He said he don't know?

Q: Were you in the convoy of the Nigerian army chief Buratai?

A: He said no, he was in Kaduna.

Barrister Abdullahi Marshall told the Judge his questions are finished. Bayero Dari, the Prosecutor Counsel, declared his case closed. Barrister Abdullahi Marshall request for opening of defense. He also requested for 2 weeks to present a written document of their defence.

The Judge adjourned the case to 25th May, 2021, for "No Case Submission".

Conclusion

This trial is a complete sham and needless. The same witnesses they presented in the 2 other court cases that they lost against the 200+ Survivors of #ZariaGenocide are the same witnesses they presented in this case. *The Fulani as the North’s bogeyman, by Hassan Gimba*

We grew up seeing the bogeyman here and there. Between 1967 and 1968, I lived with my paternal grandmother, Iya, later Hajia Iya after she visited Makkah in the mid-70s. Her name was Khadijah but her children called her Iya, meaning mother, and so we, their children, grew up calling her thus. Being a simple village woman, she was a farmer. When returning from the farm, she used to carry logs of wood, leaves for soup and giant grasshoppers, called bamba in the Bolewa language. Apart from the local seasoning, daddawa, grasshoppers too can spice up soups. Sometimes we roasted them. A real delicacy, especially those with eggs.

Enjoying the newly gained ability to walk without falling, I used to follow her to the farm on the outskirts of Fika, the land of the undulating plains. I became her storekeeper for the lighter things that motivate one to go to the farm. Nothing was lighter to me than bamba in those days. I never actually tilled the ground, for she won’t let me handle the hoe. But I ran after birds that swooped on the farm, plucking the juiciest bamba around. Or so I thought.

But the birds and the monkeys were also after the farm products. While I sought to protect what was a delicacy to me, Hajia Iya and her neighbouring farmers were therefore also concerned about the birds that reduced the destruction wreaked by grasshoppers on their farms. And the monkeys, too. So, they would erect a scarecrow – something that from a distance a monkey or a bird would take for a man about to pounce. That would scare them away and they would emit signals to their ilk that there awaited a wicked man ready to not only kill but devour them. What the villagers erected to chase off the pests is called a bogeyman.

We attribute to bogeyman qualities it does not possess so that its appearance induces fear and elicits hatred. Therefore, it is not the name that gives the bogeyman its attributes. Those attributes are inherent with whatever name we christen it with or in our minds. So, tired and in disagreement with the negritude tenets of the early and mid-century that turned the black man into a bogeyman, Wole Soyinka in 1964 at a conference in Berlin said, “A tiger does not proclaim his tigritude, he pounces.”

Sometimes a bogeyman is just the face of what the erectors want to be feared. For instance, when you erect a signpost in front of your house warning people to “Beware of snakes, dogs, electrocution, etc,” it is your house you want people to fear. The signpost, like the bogeyman, just gives a signal of what might happen when what they potentiate is breached. The signpost here as the bogeyman reflects on potential wickedness that makes the target hate the house or fear it. Or the farm.

The way people fear the tiger because of its tigritude qualities or animals hate the scarecrow in the farms, is the same fear and hate that, by deliberate design, some people want to transfer to the Fulani. Even though the Fulani have their fair share of criminals, it has now become fashionable to attribute every violent crime to them. The “Fulani” commits every crime, especially from Benue down South, as if the people there had never known crime. Though in most cases it turned out to be a bogey, the accusers show no remorse, nor do they apologise for their folly. But why should they? After all, they use the Fulani just as a bogeyman to get at the actual target.

The target is not President Muhammadu Buhari, as some are wont to adduce. No, not at all. The target is the North. Some think unless the North is vilified, hated, feared, even if on false reasons, they can never have power fall on their laps. The belief is that that was what happened in 1999. And so to them, that is only achievable through coarse blackmail, raw intimidation and the mobilisation of the gullible non-northerners against it. Northern minorities and Christians too can be carried on-board, they reason.

Little wonder charlatans have taken up this battle cry. From the now dead Gana in the valleys of the Benue to Sunday Igboho in the forests of Oduduwa down to the hills of the East where Nnamdi Kanu threatens constituted authority, the mobilisation is to hate the North through the Fulani bogeyman. Those who dictate when there will be peace have now filled in the vacuum vacated by a leadership that has abdicated its responsibility.

But that is a defeatist attitude and only shows up the emptiness of such politicians. Of-course boomerang it would. And when it boomerangs, they will realise that they have shot themselves in the foot. That’s how such things always end.

However, one politician who did not blackmail the North or fight it to gain power was the late Chief MKO Abiola. Agreed his election was annulled, sadly, but he won in the North, hands down. No man of substance would want to gain power through cheap routes. How can you savour victory when you got it through subterfuge? Can a student genuinely feel fulfilled passing an examination through malpractice, which is popularly termed “expo”?

The long-term problem associated with the student passing examinations through “expo” is national decline. A decline in the quality of services rendered. The decline in infrastructure and a decline in good governance. The massive decline in everything that we are now witnessing is a direct consequence of that. As mentioned earlier, I relate this to getting power through a cheap, ignoble route.

And the result is a dysfunctional nation; promising, yet unfulfilling. The nation gets saddled with leaders who have no sympathy and empathy for the citizenry; who disdain their people; A leadership more concerned with its welfare than that of the nation. Helmsmen who care little about the trajectory of their country’s development and how it is hurtling down the slopes head-long. Helmsmen who take from home to develop other lands.

With such people dotting our political landscape as governors and opinion leaders, one would not expect any leadership that would work to unite the people and make the country great. A governor should be the last person to speak in certain circumstances, and not the first. This is especially if the governor is running a one and a half kilometre race, dodging bullets in the bush. In that circumstance, a bogeyman could be a man with a bow and arrow about to shoot, just as a Jukun fisherman could be a Fulani herdsman, in his myopic eyes and rabble-rousing mischievous mind.

*Is Sadiya Another Punching Bag?*
A journalist friend met me a few days ago and was not happy that Sadiya Umar Farouq, minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development is being portrayed as a disaster despite all the good things she has been doing for the people of this country.

As mouthful as her portfolio sounds, that’s how she has reached out to the downtrodden in this nation, he tried to convince me. Without her ministry’s intervention in reaching to the youth through various schemes, perhaps the rate of youth restiveness might have been higher than it is now, this friend said.

Even though from afar she comes across as arrogant or snobbish, he believes it’s those who are not happy with her good works, as good as her good looks, that love to see bad in whatever she does.

Those who knew her in her youth think she has shut them out and become inaccessible, but he reasons that her work is enormous. What she handles can be likened to the heart of the country; if her work becomes a success, we would have a contented nation. He, therefore, reasons that the nature of what she handles would automatically shut out many people from her life. Not because she wants that.

My friend left me thinking hard. Is Sadiya just a punching bag, another man-made bogeyman to get at something, perhaps? The way Nigeria is moving now, anything seems possible. Sometimes only God in His Majesty knows.

It was on a day like this, 15th of Sha’aban the Imam of the age, the 12th Imam and the seal of the successors of Prophet Muhammad, Imam Muhammad Al-Mahdi (AS) was born. He is the Imam that Allah promised to reappear at the end of time to fill the world with justice after it had been ruined by injustice. It is also on this similar day that Allah in His infinite mercy cause the birth of our leader Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub Zakzaky. Hence, we come out today in a twofold celebration –birth day of Imam Mahdi and the 70th anniversary of our leader Sheikh Zakzaky (H).

However as we troop out to celebrate, it is incumbent upon us to dwell much on reminding fellow citizens and the international community of the atrocities committed by Buhari regime on our leader Sheikh Zakzaky and the Islamic Movement unjustly and illegally. For the past five years we have been explaining to the public the genesis of Zaria genocide and how it unfolded before our eyes in various ways. We have also been exposing the shameless disregard of a federal high court ruling freeing our leader by the federal government and its resort to another trial by Kaduna state government of our leader, all in the name of keeping him in perpetual detention.

Nonetheless today we will like the general public and the international community to know the fraud and fallacy of the argument put forward by Buhari regime in collaboration with Governor Elrufai, claiming that Sheikh Zakzaky is a threat to national security, in their words he is establishing “a government within a government.”

Let the truth be told, if at all security threat is being discussed, is there any national security threat greater than those advocating publically the dismemberment of the country coming from the southwest and southeast regions of the country recently? What is the reaction of the federal government to these existential threats, apart from cajoling them and turning a blind eye to their agitations? And of course what follows is the daily maiming and killings of those not from the aforementioned regions of the country.

Before then is the menace of banditry bedeviling northwest and north central regions of the country, with daily reportage of kidnappings, wanton 'destruction of towns and villages, cattle rustling and large scale kidnappings of students in various schools. Any response from Buhari regime apart from dishing out of press releases full of promises to put a stop to these acts of terror and consoling the victims of the perpetrators of such madness?

In view of the real security threats threatening the corporate existence of this nation, why is Buhari regime adopting a nonchalant attitude toward this, while using its maximum force to exterminate the Islamic Movement under the leadership of Sheikh Zakzaky?

There is only one answer to this quagmire of a sort if we take into account the history of the struggle between truth and falsehood. Today nobody can doubt the fact that Sheikh Zakzaky is on the side of truth and justice, while the government is siding falsehood and tyranny. Hence the victory of truth over its antagonists will surely manifest itself as it has always done in history .

We believe Buhari regime is aware that Sheikh Zakzaky is the real savior of this country because of his antecedents in interfaith dialogue, unity among Muslims and peaceful coexistence among the various communities making up the country and his insistence of an equitable and just system of governance for the country, while the government from its policies it is against these lofty ideas; hence its determination and that of its foreign sponsors to extinguish this voice of justice by all means.

However Allah in His infinite mercy will not grant them victory, sooner than later Sheikh Zakzaky will be free and victory will be his and the Islamic Movement. We therefore reiterate our call to the Buhari regime to release our leader Sheikh Zakzaky, his wife Malama Zeenah Ibrahim and hundreds of others still in detention since December 2015 unconditionally. It is abundantly clear that Sheikh Zakzaky is the most oppressed righteous leader in the country since its creation by the colonialists, who will clock 70 years in detention illegally and unjustly. We however our detractors that Allah has proclaimed in the holy Quran He doesn’t love the unjust ones.
