PoliticsAl-qaeda Terrorist Pantami Is A Product Of The Evil Wahhabi Cult by Elbinawi(op): 4:06am On Apr 21, 2021
Al-Qaeda Terrorist Pantami is a Product of the Evil Wahhabi Cult

The #PantamiIsATerrorist saga has brought in to the open the monstrous and genocidal evilness and savagery of the Saudi-sponsored ideology of Wahhabism.

Northern Nigeria was totally peaceful, devoid of all religious crisis until the evil ideology of Wahhabism came in the mid 70s. Wahhabis brainwashed Sunni Muslims that Christians are their enemies, spread hate against them, brainwashed them to attack and kill Christians.

Every single thing that the Al-Qaeda terrorist #Pantami expounded on those viral audios and videos are the basic teachings of the Wahhabi/Salafi cult. All Wahhabi/Salafi support Al-Qaeda and ISIS Terrorism. All of them!

The slight difference with #BokoHaram is on methodology, not on goals and objectives. If BokoHaram cut off the heads of Shias or Christians, the bloodthirsty Wahhabi barbarians will celebrate.

The biggest mistake of Sunni clerics, intellectuals and leaders is that they allowed the evil ideology of Wahhabism to infiltrate and hijack Sunnism.

The house of Sunnism is the biggest recruitment center of #Wahhabism. Millions of Sunni youths have been brainwashed by Wahhabi clerics to become Al-Qaeda, ISIS and BokoHaram terrorists. And hundreds of thousands of them have been killed in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and West Africa.

Sunni clerics, intellectuals and leaders must take concrete measures to decouple Wahhabism from Sunnism. As long as Wahhabism exist, murderous terrorism in the name of Islam will continue to exist.

PoliticsOf Ramadan, You Be Thief, And Pantami – A Mix, By Hassan Gimba by Elbinawi(op): 9:22am On Apr 19, 2021
Of Ramadan, You Be Thief, And Pantami – A Mix, by Hassan Gimba

Ramadan is a month synonymous with fasting in the Muslim world. In Islam, fasting is the practice of abstaining from food, drink, smoking, and sexual activity between dawn and nightfall. At present, the world over, adult Muslims of sound mental and physical health are observing it, being the fourth of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims observe it in the month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar. The name of the month has supplanted sawm, or azumi, meaning fasting in Arabic or Hausa, respectively.

Medically, fasting promotes blood sugar control by reducing insulin resistance, better health through fighting inflammation and may enhance heart health by improving blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol levels. It is said that it also boosts brain function and prevents neurodegenerative disorders.

Sometimes, it aids in weight loss by limiting calorie intake and boosting metabolism as well as increases growth hormone secretion, which is vital for growth, metabolism, weight loss and muscle strength. It is also said that it could delay ageing and extend longevity and may aid in cancer prevention and increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

When God tells us to do things, it is not for Him to tell us its health benefits. In most cases, we find out ourselves. He, however, tells us it is for our good. When you believe, you also find out that spiritually and physically you are the better for heeding His exhortations.

All major religions, therefore, encourage fasting and, in doing so, tell us it is what God wants. It is for the adherent to believe and act.

And so fasting is a spiritual discipline taught by the Bible. Jesus (may God be pleased with him) expected his followers to fast, and he said that God rewards fasting. Fasting, according to the Bible, means to voluntarily reduce or eliminate the intake of food for a specific time and purpose. “When you give up eating, don’t put on a sad face like hypocrites.”

In Islam, fasting develops the quality of righteousness by abstaining from sinful deeds and training ourselves to control our desires for Allah said in Qur’an 2:183, “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you that you may become righteous.”

There are two joys associated with breaking the fast. Muhammad (SAW), the prophet of Islam, said, “He who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in breath in the mouth of the one who fasts is sweeter to Allah than the smell of musk”. Musk is a kind of Arabian perfume.

At the break of fast, there is a lesson for those who think deeply: after difficulty is ease; no matter how tough lack is, it does not last. It is only temporary. It is also likewise with plenty, typified by the eating at dawn, which is highly recommended. It is for a time, after which you cannot touch the food no matter how hungry you may be. One becomes not only compassionate towards the have-nots but understands mercy, a Godlike attribute.

This increases one’s fear, love and loyalty for the Creator, another lesson in love and loyalty essential to leadership and followership. Were we, leaders and followers, to be blessed with the lessons that fasting teaches its practitioners, Nigeria would have been an Eldorado.

Unfortunately, man forgets all these lessons the moment he fills his stomach. Nisiyan in Arabic, the language of the Qur’an means to forget. Insan, from Nisiyan, means man. And so man is forgetful.

You Be Thief, I No Be Thief

In his 1980 hit song, “Authority Stealing”, Fela Anikulapo Kuti sings “You be thief” while the chorus chanted “I no be thief”, “You be rogue”, “I no be rogue”, etc, and the second stanza goes with “Argument, argument, argue”, “Them argue”, “Everybody dem argue”… I recall this song because of the ongoing brick-throwing and arguments regarding the printing of 60 billion naira shared to states last month.

It is an unfortunate development that goes further to underscore a reason people don’t trust their leaders and take government statements with a pinch of salt. An official comes out with a statement denying something only for another to come out the next minute justifying it.

It all started when the Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, who spoke at a programme in Benin, raised the alarm that such amount was printed to augment the allocation shared to states in March by the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). While lamenting that by the end of this year the country’s total borrowing would exceed 15 to 16 trillion naira, he said that the printing resulted from the continued shrinking of oil revenue.

However, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, minister of finance, came out firing on all cylinders, telling the nation on behalf of the federal government that Governor Obaseki was far from the truth. “The claim by the Edo State governor that we printed money to distribute at FAAC is very sad because it is not a fact”, she said, claiming that what “we distribute at FAAC is revenue that is generated by NNPC, FIRS, Customs, etc.”

But responding to journalists in Tunga, Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, confirmed it. He opined that printing money is a key mandate of the central bank and that the bank must always act in ways to support the government during financial difficulties.

Claiming it was a loan to states, he said “in 2015/2016, we were in a similar (fiscal) situation, but it is far worse today.” He then said, “we are going to insist on the states paying the loan back since they are effectively accusing us of giving them loans.”

But apart from this, it is a vogue for states to collect loans and use them on non-profitable, non-essential projects. Sometimes projects like renovating or building government houses, building palaces, buying cars for traditional rulers, etc. The question to ask is, why should states continue taking loans and ploughing them into projects that cannot pay back the loans?

Of Pantami And The Allegations

Again, Dr (Sheikh) Isa Pantami, the Nigerian minister of communications and digital economy, is in the storm’s eye. On about two occasions last year, he occupied public discourse. The first was when he had a spat with Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, director-general of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NDC) over office space. The second was at the launch of the National Communications Commission’s new building complex in Abuja. He turned himself into a master of ceremony solely to stop Professor Umar Garba Danbatta of the National Communications Commission from telling the president his achievements.

Now he is on the burner for allegedly supporting the Taliban, Al-Qaida and their leaders. These extreme Wahhabi Salafist groups drink from the same ideological fountain with Boko Haram. However, doing the rounds are many audio and video clips in which he extolled their leaders’ virtues. In sometimes even acceding that they were better Muslims than him. Yet in some, crying and asking for revenge over their killing or questioning the “extrajudicial” killing of Boko Haram members.

While it would be difficult to wave them away as lies or fabrications, Dr Pantami’s views were the general views of most Salafs at the time he made them. And since “deradicalisation” cannot change the belief of a Boko Haram member, it would be difficult for the average Salafist to turn away from such beliefs.

Sheikh Pantami may as well just own what he said and stand by it. But if he now harbours a different view, then he should also say so. He might reveal a change of thinking because of some factors. The best jihad, according to the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (SAW), is Jihad an-Nafs, ie, the struggle to have a clean heart. Accepting the truth, not living by lie and not being hypocritical, is Jihad an-Nafs.
PoliticsThe Planners & Executors Of The Shia Genocide Agenda Are The Big Losers by Elbinawi(op): 4:31am On Apr 19, 2021
The Planners & Executors of the Shia Genocide Agenda in Nigeria are the big Losers

The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, when released from the illegal detention will come and meet a bigger Movement than the one of 2015. Millions of people in Nigeria, Niger Republic, Chad, Cameroon, Mali, Senegal etc have joined the Movement.

Sheikh Zakzaky will meet a bigger Movement that has branches in South Africa, Haiti, Brazil, Jamaica, Turkey and other parts of the world.

The brutal and inhuman Saudi-sponsored #ZariaGenocide was a crime of the century and the Righteous Resistance that follows attracted mass murder of peaceful #FreeZakzaky Protesters. Despite all these challenges, these heinous crimes against humanity perpetrated by the bloodthirsty Sunni extremists in power in Nigeria has bear fruits, fruits of Righteous Resistance.

The big losers are not the hundreds of families of victims of the ZariaGenocide, the big losers are the planners and executors of the genocide.

Western hegemony dreamt of the destruction of the biggest anti-imperialism Movement in Africa, that did not happen.

The savage Wahhabi regime dreamt of the extermination of Shia Islam from Nigeria and by extension Africa, that did not happen.

The racist Israeli regime occupying Palestine dreamt of no massive pro-Palestinian rallies in Nigeria and by extension Africa, that did not happen.

The extremely wicked and corrupt Nigerian ruling elites dreamt of the destruction of the biggest Revolutionary Movement in Nigeria, that did not happen.

And those that executed this brutal and inhuman genocide will remain genocidal criminals forever. International law of justice will haunt for them as long as they are alive. Writers, intellectuals and Poets will write and sing to condemn their names, actions and mention.

And one day the multiple Shia mass graves in Kaduna and Kano states created by the bloodthirsty Sunni extremists in power will be unearth for the whole world to see their inner contents. Yes, the pure remains of the innocent children that they buried alive will be exhumed from the multiple Shia mass graves. The multiple Shia mass graves in Nigeria will fill the headlines of Washington Post, New York Times, the British Guardian and all the Newspapers and Magazines of the world.

Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) and other families of victims of the Saudi-sponsored Shia genocide in Nigeria are victorious. They are victorious because they were victims of the most brutal genocidal massacre in the history of Africa.

On a final note, I have always said this and I will repeat it. Tyrant Buhari, Elrufai, Buratai and gang will not be able to kill all of us. The overwhelming majority of us will survive the genocidal massacres and extreme wickedness and persecution of these wicked Mass murderers and bloodthirsty killers.

PoliticsYes, They Did Everything To Kill Sheikh Zakzaky by Elbinawi(op): 10:22am On Apr 18, 2021
Yes, they did everything to kill Sheikh Zakzaky

Yes, they did everything to kill him. Yes, the bloodthirsty Sunni extremists in power in Nigeria and paid Saudi agents did everything humanly possible to kill the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

During the brutal and inhuman Saudi-sponsored #ZariaGenocide they burnt down his house with him and his family inside. Yes the Nigerian army burnt down his house with all of them inside. Dozens of Citizens that included women and children were burnt alive! The videos are available.

These bloodthirsty killers wickedly denied him and his injured wife proper medical treatment despite the rain of bullets on them by the Nigerian army. Nigerian Healthcare facilities are among the worst in the world, worst than the Healthcare facilities of war torn countries of Afghanistan and Yemen.

When a court judged that he should go to India for further medical treatment, they connived with the CIA, Israeli Mossad and Saudi intelligence to silently murder him in India and return his dead body to us.

These genocidal criminals brutally slaughtered his three (3) biological children in his residence and in his presence and Midget Satan #Elrufai wickedly dumped their dead bodies in the multiple Shia mass graves at night. They burnt his 75 year old sister, Hajiya Fatima, alive! They killed his young Nephew at his residence.

The God that kept the First Ibraheem (as) alive from the blazing fire more than 9,000 years ago also kept this Ibraheem (H) alive from the blazing fire of #Criminal_Buhari. And the God that destroyed the Pharaoh of Prophet Musa (as) has the ability and capability to destroy the Pharaoh of Sheikh Zakzaky.

Today as I write there are multiple Shia mass graves in Kaduna and Kano states. Some of these Citizens were burnt alive, some of them were buried with their lives according to the comprehensive report of the London-based Amnesty International on ZariaGenocide. These victims of the Saudi-sponsored #ShiaGenocide agenda in Nigeria have families who loved them. They had friends, neighbors and associates that will NEVER forget them.

The evil imperialist agenda that has the savage Saudi Wahhabi regime as front to exterminate Shia Islam from Nigeria has failed woefully. Shia Islam will remain in Nigeria and by extension Africa forever! The multiple Shia mass graves in Nigeria will be unearth one day and the whole world will see the inner contents. Autopsy on the dead bodies will determine those that were burnt alive and those that were buried alive by Tyrant Buhari, Elrufai, Buratai and gang.

The brutal and inhuman slaughter of more than one thousand innocent men, women, children and infants in Zaria in December, 2015, set a new African record of human slaughter. The Nigerian army spent two days (12th - 14th December, 2015) in Zaria doing nothing but killing hundreds of innocent civilians and dumping their dead bodies in the multiple Shia mass graves.

On a final note, hundreds of families of victims of this Saudi-sponsored genocide are patiently waiting for Justice. Justice to punish those that facilitated and executed this brutal and inhuman genocide.

We will NEVER forget,
We will NEVER forgive,
We will overcome!

PoliticsThe Savage Saudi Wahhabi Regime Behind The Shia Genocide In Nigeria by Elbinawi(op): 10:05am On Apr 17, 2021
The savage Saudi Wahhabi regime behind the Shia Genocide in Nigeria

A Nigerian Sunni Brother sent me this message:

"Salama alaikum how is fasting? You keep mentioning that Saudi sponsored the Zaria massacre, am just curious what wrong has the Shia in Nigeria done to Saudi and what will they benefit in killing hundreds of people? Please help me shed more light so that I can understand this misnomer."

 I replied him:

Some months before the genocidal massacre of more than one thousand innocent Shia civilians in Zaria in December, 2015, Saudi TV networks were busy showing the rapid growth of Shia Islam in Nigeria.

The major focus of these Saudi TV networks was the iconic Zaria Hussainiya that was the largest in Africa. During the Saudi-sponsored ZariaGenocide, the Hussainiya was their first target. Hundreds of men, women, children and infants inside the Hussainiya were bombarded by the Nigerian army, killed and the Hussainiya completely destroyed.

Just 4 days after the ZariaGenocide, Saudi king Salman called Criminal Buhari on phone and celebrated the #ShiaGenocide with him and declared that "this is part of the fight against terrorism".

Immediately, after the ZariaGenocide, Criminal Buhari, Elrufai, dethroned Emir Sanusi and gang rushed to Saudi Arabia to be rewarded for the genocidal massacre of more than one thousand men, women, children and infants in Zaria. The Saudi king Salman even opened the Ka'aba for Tyrant Buhari.

After the ZariaGenocide, Tyrant Buhari toured Sunni-majority countries like Qatar, Turkey, UAE and Saudi Arabia expecting reward for the genocidal slaughter of more than one thousand Shia civilians in Zaria. While in Qatar, Buhari told a Qatari TV that what happened in Zaria was their effort "to curtail the Influence of Iran in Africa". The video is available.

In 2018 the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, publicly boasted to the American Times magazine in an interview that they are behind the ZariaGenocide and the illegal detention of Sheikh Zakzaky to "curtail the Influence of Iran on the African continent." The video is available.

When some Nigerian Sunni Activists are supporting the bloodthirsty Al-Qaeda terrorist @DrIsaPantami is not surprising because the evil ideology of #Wahhabism successfully infiltrated and hijacked Sunnism.

But when a Christian from Southern Kaduna is viciously supporting the bloodthirsty Wahhabi barbarian #Pantami who pose existential threat to Nigerian Christians, then this is dangerous. How much worldly gain is enough to make this shameless traitor betrayed his people?

The Al-Qaeda terrorist Pantami who is the minister of communication in the genocidal Buhari regime pose existential threat to all Nigerian Christians, Shias, non-Wahhabi Sunnis & Followers of African Traditional Religion.

I had received multiple death threats from Al-Qaeda terrorists in the past. I am already marked for elimination by these bloodthirsty Wahhabi barbarians. PoliticsRetrenchment Of Four Thousand Workers In Kaduna, Wicked, Ruthless by Elbinawi(op): 9:57pm On Apr 14, 2021
RETRENCHMENT OF FOUR THOUSAND WORKERS IN KADUNA, WICKED, RUTHLESS

Abdulmumin Giwa

Even as the Kaduna state government has been judged by the general public not to value any advises or suggestions from other than what it has decided it is still pertinent to comment on its ruthlessness and recklessness.

With a state executive that has no regard for other people's culture or religion or even social status, there is a complete silence in the state as though there is no political opposition at all. Everyone is afraid of his property being demolished by 'the bulldozer' and chooses to remain unconcerned about the anti people policies of the government.

Hence, feeling above everybody, the governor executes whatever policy he desires no matter how unpopular.

More so, those who can't be silenced from speaking against the misdoings of the government are intimidated and oppressed by violating their fundamental human rights to life. A good example here is that Elrufai and the Nigerian government know very well that Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky will not keep silent and watch them destroy Nigeria, he will speak up in favor of the oppressed, something they don't want. That is why they attack him and kill his followers and even bury them in mass graves after burning down and demolishing his house while he is illegally jailed. His case is now with the #ICC and many of the government big shots, including the Kaduna governor are indicted.

In addition to that, just of recent, the US government declared Sheikh Zakzaky a political prisoner and not a terrorist as falsely claimed by Elrufai and the Nigerian regime.

More so, we have clearly seen how the Nigerian regime embarrassed and insulted a globally respected man of God, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kuka of Sokoto recently for simply saying the truth about the misdoing of the Buhari regime and how it is leading Nigeria to doom thereby displaying how intolerant they can be.

Just of recent, the Kaduna state governor Nasiru Elrufai as usual, arrogantly told newsmen that he was not elected to pay salaries. Further explaining, he gave some statistics saying 90% of the monthly allocation to the state is spent on payment of salaries for which only 100,000 civil servants out of the 9 million population benefit.

This could easily buy off the thinking of an ordinary man but not a reasonable person. This is because even when those 100,000 people that work with the civil service get their salaries they help circulate the same money back to the people in the state. They spend them on groceries, domestic expenditure and others such that even the market woman benefits from the money.

More so, it increases the volume of money in circulation in the public thereby reducing insecurity tendencies, extreme poverty and insecurity tendencies as well.

On the other hand, if such monies go back only to projects awarded to friends and relatives in the name of big companies, it ends up in fat foreign accounts and personal investments. The people of the state on the other hand are left in a state of institutional poverty. The Federal Allocation the state government is referring to is not the only source of income for the state. The state government had in recent times expressed its achievements as concerns the Internally Generated Revenue. Where the state Governor boasted of earning enough to run the state even without the federal allocation.

Retrenching about four thousand workers in the state is therefore a very wicked and heartless decision that is taken by the government only as a means of raising money that might end up in the pockets of ambitious politicians leaving the poor masses in a fabricated hell.

The number of workers in Kaduna, in fact needs to be increased and not reduced because not even in states with lower IGR than Kaduna, like Kano, where there are a lot of infrastructural projects going on, are workers being dismissed recklessly like this.

In 2019 and in 2020 and even before, the annual Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, of Kaduna state have all been more than those of Kano. But in the last six years, more infrastructural projects have been executed in Kano, including, flyovers under passes, specialist hospitals and housing than in Kaduna.

More so, Kano has much bigger number of civil servants with the minimum salary being N30,600:00 but it had no cause to retrench the state workers. What is even more is that the population of Kano is more than twice that of Kaduna state. Kano is having a population of 20 million people while Kaduna has 9 million.

Definitely the issue of Kaduna state workers retrenchment is but only an act of wickedness and heartlessness, it is indeed against the people and certainly against God.

On the other hand, the monies being accumulated by the state government that are meant for the Local Government Councils is yet another issue. Allocations meant for the local governments hardly reaches them. Such monies are meant to take development to the door steps of rural communities in order to avoid among various others, rural - urban migration. These funds are also in the pocket of the state government since the local governments are yet to be seen as autonomous by the states. Hence, shortage of funds is not a genuine reason why workers should be retrenched.

In rural communities where there is no light, no water, no good education and no basic health delivery service, definitely people will be migrating to the urban communities to seek better opportunities. This affects economy, and encourages insecurity as well.

Reducing the size of the Local Government work force to only 50 people in Kaduna state, with only 23 LGs, is the worse idea ever. It is only a way of killing rural development for personal greed. This is an era where Nigerians are calling for autonomy of the LGs to encourage developmental progress in rural areas.

Definitely the idea of dismissing workers can never be supported or implemented by any right thinking person, not in this age where Nigeria is described as the poverty capital of the world and the North of Nigeria as the poverty capital of Nigeria.

With this development tomorrow will be ( *1/9/1442*) which is equivalent to the Gregorian calendar 13/4/2021.

Addendum

Due to the erratic and inconsistent moon sighting in Nigeria, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, established a Moon Sighting committee that will keep record of the moon appearance every month.

Ramadan Mubarak!

PoliticsMy Igbo Brothers, Before It Is Too Late, By Hassan Gimba by Elbinawi(op): 6:32am On Apr 12, 2021
*My Igbo Brothers, Before It Is Too Late, by Hassan Gimba*

The Igbo are a resilient lot, an egalitarian and industrious people. Defined as a meta-ethnicity native and one of the largest ethnic groups in Africa, they are predominant in South Eastern and mid-western Nigeria. Though there is a claim by some of them that they descended from Jews, the World Culture Encyclopaedia has it that the Igbo people have no common traditional story of their origins. It said historians have proposed two major theories of Igbo origins. One claims the existence of a core area, or “nuclear Igboland.” The other claims they descended from waves of immigrants from the north and the west who arrived in the fourteenth or fifteenth century. Three of such immigrant people are the Nri, Nzam and Anam.

I have known the Igbo since I opened my eyes, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for them. Mrs Nwosu and Ogualili were among my primary school teachers. I went through the hands of Mrs Ogualili in Shehu Garbai Primary School in Maiduguri twice – first in my primary five and then seven when she saw me through my first school leaving certificate examinations.

As a student, I had some of them also in the same class in both my primary and secondary schools. Frank Nweke Jnr, a former minister, was my classmate in primary school. Brilliant chap, he was.

At Government College, Maiduguri, among others, Michael Onyia, Christopher Ononogbu, Boniface Edeh, Joseph Anumudu, Felix Udeh and Peter Achukwu were among my classmates. Michael Onyia, now a PhD and lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was always ahead of the set academically. Peter Achukwu is now a Professor in Medical Laboratory Sciences, specialising in Histopathology/Histochemistry with an LLB, BL to boot. He is also a lecturer at UNN.

People will understand, therefore, when I say I have nothing but respect and admiration for them. The Igbo, on average, can be generous and will do all it takes to build someone into becoming someone responsible. They have the best apprenticeship mentoring system in the world, where the mentor sets up the apprentice after a period of training.

I nearly married one, Uzoamaka, in 1990, but that should be a story for another day. However, I offered my junior sister—same parents—to an Igbo secondary school classmate when I realised he wanted to marry a northerner. He ended up marrying someone from abroad, though.

In the 70s, the civil war was fresh, understandably, but by 1979 and through the 1980s up to 2015, the Igbo had been fully integrated into Nigeria and were (still are) major players.

From 1979 to 1983, they occupied the slot of vice president. Ebitu Ukiwe was President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s deputy before Augustus Aikhomu displaced him. They have had chiefs of staff, especially that of the army, Senate presidents, Senate deputy presidents, deputy Speakers in the House of Representatives, and many more positions. There is no position in Nigeria that the Igbo has not held, including the presidency if Goodluck Ebele Jonathan can be regarded as an Igbo by default.

Therefore, when the Igbo man cries “marginalisation!” I wonder if I knew its meaning.

The North East has not tasted power at the apex since Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, yet they have not cried of being “marginalised” by their North Western brothers who will tell them “One North” but when all come “home”, they always take the larger portion of the cake.

In 1979, the North West knew the North East’s Malam Adamu Ciroma was head and shoulders above all the presidential aspirants of the party that won the presidency that year, but they connived to deny him the ticket. Same with 1992. When they realised he would defeat Umaru Shinkafi at the National Republican Convention’s staggered primary elections, they again conspired to scuttle his journey. After doing him in, they went on and truncated another North Easterner, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe’s presidential drive, denying him victory even as a vice-presidential candidate. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar too has suffered the same fate.

Yet the North East did not lament. They did not threaten to break away. The temptation to blame others for their “woes” did not cross their minds. Cries of marginalisation did not sweep over them. No. They will sit down and re-strategise, then make their brothers an offer they cannot refuse: They will present their best who will hopefully best their best. This is politics. It is what democracy is all about. The business of give-and-take. No hairsplitting or inviting the god of thunder or threatening Armageddon.

Again, if people are backward, unable to witness any development in their areas, as the Igbos cry, they should go to the source and address it. Would it be fair for an Anambra man, for instance, to accuse a Hausa man of under-development in his state? Methinks it will not look nice. Members of the state house of assembly are all Igbos, same for cabinet members and all local government officials. Those representing the state at the national level are all Igbos and the governor who got elected into office by his fellow Igbo is also one of them. Their full allocation comes to them, as well. So, where did someone from another area cause the problem? How did he do them in?

It is too late for Nigeria now to divide into only God knows how many components. Perhaps 1966 was the best time. Yes, maybe. Perchance by now, we would all have been independent nationalities, each with its peculiar problems and prospects. But now? No way, sir! We are all safer in a united Nigeria. None of the six geopolitical zones can survive outside Nigeria. Bandits, insurgents, militants, megalomaniacs, charlatans and all would overwhelm us. Even the Igbo nation cannot stand on its own if left to the whims, arrogance and demagoguery of its self-anointed secessionist leader who Yoweri Museveni will look like a saint when compared to.

But many intelligent Igbo know this. The problem is there is a herd movement towards something that the gullible, used cannon fodder do not even know what it is. To them, it is “freedom”. Sure? Freedom from what? From where? From who? If it happens, which is doubtful, it is then they will recall Nigeria with nostalgia and rue over a Nigerian slang “one chance”. They would realise its real meaning, albeit late in the day. This is assuming various warlords have not emerged to deny everyone peace. And freedom. And therefore I sympathise with my good friends, my brothers across the Niger.

A herd movement like the IPOB has its driving spirit and being populated mainly by society’s dregs with nothing to lose, a certain force with a promise of violence pushes it. The level-headed can easily get intimidated and blackmailed into sheepish silence.

There is nothing the good and visionary can do when demagogues opiate the minds and souls of the gullible herd. Or so it seems. But we should also keep in mind Edmund Burke’s letter to Thomas Mercer, a 19th century Judge. A summary of the letter is: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

But sometimes one gets disappointed in how the situation was left to deteriorate to this level. Of course, we know that once there is no fairness or justice in a land, agitations take over. In 1966 when life was snuffed out of some leading northern military and political leaders, the chant in the North was for “Araba” (separation) because the North felt the military regime then was not fair and just to it.

The only way we can slow down and perhaps reverse the impending doom is for all to feel included and carried along in affairs despite scarce resources. We have a lot to learn from how Quebec and Ireland are being handled by the Canadian and British governments, respectively.

Nnamdi Kanu, who Aisha Yesufu described as a ‘made-in-China Shekau’ and his IPOB and ESM always deny what everyone knows were perpetrated by them. This is unlike the Boko Haram insurgents who are eager to own what they did and didn’t do as long as it was sinister. This means there is still hope that they could be persuaded to return from their fatal journey, a journey that will only cause untold pains to all on both sides. We need not go through what we had gone through before. Even animals learn from experience, sometimes referred to as history.

We that are in Nigeria should not heed the calls of those safely ensconced in the safety and comfort of the lands of the Whiteman to put our house ablaze. Let anyone who loves us and wants to fight for us remain within us, as Gandhi and Mandela did for their people. We shouldn’t put our lives and those of our loved ones, our relationships, properties and years of labour and sweat on the line for one brigand in disguise, a charlatan living off our sweat in comfort abroad.
PoliticsAl-qaeda Terrorist Is A Minister In The Buhari Regime by Elbinawi(op): 2:51am On Apr 12, 2021
ANNOUNCEMENT

Al-Qaeda Terrorist is a Minister in the Buhari Regime

The American government just placed the Nigerian Minister of communication, @DrIsaPantami, on terror watch list.

On multiple occasions in the past I drew the attention of Nigerians that Isa Pantami who is a Saudi asset in Nigeria is Al-Qaeda terrorist.

There are videos where Isa Pantami showed strong support for Al-Qaeda terrorist leaders. When Ayyman Al-Zawahiri was killed, Isa Pantami, publicly mourned the death of his leader. The same when Osama bin Laden was killed.

The genocidal Buhari regime that is executing the Saudi-sponsored #ShiaGenocide agenda in Nigeria is a regime of terrorists, by the terrorists and for the terrorists. Thousands of innocent Shia civilians have been Killed and tens of thousands injured, some with life threatening injuries. As I write there are multiple Shia mass graves in Kaduna and Kano states.

Thank you!
