TEXT OF PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY MAXWELL KYON ESQ, COUNSEL TO THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT IN NIGERIA IN THE CONFRENCE ROOM OF THE LAW OFFICES OF MESSRS. MAXWELL KYON & ASSOCIATE, KADUNA THIS 2ND DAY OF AUGUST 2018.

Protocols

Gentlemen of the Press.

We decided to address you today on the outcome of the charge of Criminal Conspiracy, Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death, Unlawful Assembly, Disturbance of Public Peace and Wrongful Restraint filed against over 100 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. Our decision to address this press conference is also informed by our desire to give you an accurate picture of what transpired in Court on the 31st day of July 2018 and to respond to the position of the Attorney General of Kaduna State in her press statement of the same day that the Kaduna State Government will appeal the said judgment.

Introduction

As some of you are aware, on the 31st day of July, 2018, the Honorable Justice David Shiri Wyom of High Court No. 5 Kaduna discharged and acquitted 89 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) standing trial for sundry offences including Criminal Conspiracy, Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death, Unlawful Assembly, Disturbance of Public Peace and Wrongful Restraint.

The Response of the Kaduna State Government
We decided to address the Press on the issues arising from the decision of the Kaduna State High Court discharging the accused persons based on the press statement issues by the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kaduna State. In the press statement, the Honorable Attorney General informed the public that the judgement was perverse and totally lacking in merit.” She stated that In prosecuting the case, the State called 47 witnesses and tendered several exhibits. The prosecution believes that a compelling case was argued. Therefore, an appeal will be filed to challenge the ruling of the court, She further stated that Despite the quality of evidence placed before the honourable court, it ruled in favour of the accused persons and that The Kaduna state government hereby states that it is totally dissatisfied with the ruling which it views as perverse and totally lacking in merit and shall appeal immediately to the Kaduna judicial division of the court of appeal.

The Background

The Defendants were arraigned before Honourable Justice David Shiri Wyoms of the Kaduna State High Court on the 21st of June 2016 on a 5 count charge alleging against them the offences of Criminal Conspiracy, Culpable Homicide, Unlawful Assembly, Disturbance of Public Peace and Wrongful Restraint.

All the Defendants in CHARGE NO: KDH/KAD/39C /2016 numbering 49 pleaded not guilty to the Charges against them. All the Defendants in CHARGE NO: KDH/KAD/37C/2016 numbering 40 in all also pleaded not guilty to the Charge. Both cases were eventually consolidated and adjourned for hearing.

After the prosecution concluded its case, the Defence x-rayed the evidence placed before the court and decided to make a no case submission on behalf of all the Defendants considering that it was the belief of Defence Counsel that no credible evidence had been placed before the Court to ground the charges against the Defendants.

The No Case Submission

In making its no case submission on behalf of the Defendants, the Defense team led by Maxwell Kyon Esq. formulated a lone issue for determination which was whether from the entirety of the facts placed before the Honourable Court, there was any basis for His Lordship to find that a prima facie case had been made out against the Defendants so much so that they could be called upon to enter a defence in the matter.

It is important to state here that the fulcrum of the case of the Prosecution revolved around the case of Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death. This was the charge that gave the prosecution the unconscionable cover to stall and hold the accused persons in prison custody for 2 years and 7 months seeing as persons charged with the commission of capital offences are not ordinarily granted bail. It was the bogey charge that permeated all the charges they filed. This same charge with the same tenor can also be found in the charge filed against the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Mallam El Zak Zakky.

In our submission we stated clearly that the only ingredient of the offence of Culpable Homicide Punishable with death that the Prosecution established was the fact that one soldier died as against the 347 IMN members that the Kaduna State Government admitted were killed by the members of the Armed Forces during the December 12-14 mayhem in Zaria.

From the point of establishing that a death occurred, the entire case of the Prosecution spiraled into complete unreliability and incredulity. Prosecution witness No. 43 CSP Ibrahim Abdul was the Chief Investigating Officer in respect of the matter at hand. The Army handed over the Defendants to him and in his evidence before the Court and under cross examination, he informed the Court that the Nigerian Army informed him in the course of investigation that Cpl. Yakubu Dankaduna (the soldier they alleged was killed by all the IMN members) died as a result of friendly fire. Friendly fire is simply defined by the Advanced English Dictionary, Online Edition as fire that kills an ally or a friend.

The implication of PW43s admission under cross examination that the Army suggested to him that Cpl. Dankaduna, who the Defendants standing trial are alleged to have killed, was actually killed by friendly fire completely and conclusively exculpates the Defendants from being the persons who caused the death of the said Cpl. Dankaduna and hence without any skull doggery puts paid to the Charge of Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death against the Defendants. If Cpl. Yakubu Dankaduna was killed by his own colleagues, why should members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria be charged for his death?

Furthermore, contrary to the charge that Cpl. Dankaduna was killed when he alighted from the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff during the blockade of the 12th day of December 2015, the Army testified that he was killed in Gyellesu sometime after 12:00am on the 13th of December 2015 after his troops arrived at Gyellesu. What is curious in relation to the charge and the evidence is the fact that the Chief of Army Staffs entourage was blocked on the 12th day of December 2015 sometime between 3pm and 4pm or there about at Husaniya but from the evidence Dankaduna died at Gyellesu on the 13th day of December 2015.

What We Expected From the Kaduna State Government Upon the Dismissal of the Case Against the Defendants.

Rather than talking about appeals, we had expected the Kaduna State Government to issue an apology to all the accused persons that have been discharged by the Kaduna State High Court who have, by the day of their discharge and acquittal spent a period 2 years and 7 months in prison custody awaiting trial on charges which were clearly bogus and frivolous. It was clear that the government by filing the said bogus charges against them just wanted to keep them out of circulation.

We still believe that the government should apologize to them and pay them commensurate compensation on the following grounds:

The Students

Among the accused persons were 4 students of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. 2 are students of the Kaduna State Polytechnic in Zaria and a host of others were students of different tertiary institutions and secondary schools. All of them have lost their status as students due to incarceration and some of them have lost their parents, relatives and their homes.

In the case of two of the students of ABU, we filed a bail application on their behalf requesting that they be granted bail with an undertaking from their father who is a Professor at the same University to ensure they were in court on every adjourned date to stand their trial. The state vehemently opposed our bail application. Today they have lost their places in the said institution. The Court has pronounced them innocent of whatever offence they are accused of committing and we had expected some empathy from the state government, some form of scholarship to enable them continue with their education, medical examination of their health and some compensation to enable them start life afresh.

The Breadwinners

Over 80% of those discharged by the Court were married with children and of this number almost all of them were the bread winners of their families. As a result of their incarceration they were not able to meet with their responsibilities of providing for their homes. A number of them lost their marriages. The wife of one of them even left the matrimonial home abandoning her kids who were 9 years old and 3 years old respectively.

During the period of incarceration about 4 of the Defendants died in custody and their wives are now widows and their children orphans. The Kaduna State Government knew that some of them who were either gravely ill before incarceration or who developed ailments while incarcerated had their situations worsened due to the unavailability of a proper environment to manage their ailments. We are convinced that with proper management some of them will be alive today and yet the Kaduna State Government does not deem it fit to visit and commiserate with their families and pay them adequate compensation.

The Workers

A large number of those that stood trial were workers in various ministries, agencies and departments of government in various States of the Federation. Most of them could not do their BVN due to their incarceration. Many of them had had their appointments terminated and their pensionable appointments and benefits lost. The Kaduna State Government does not consider this grave injustice since the trumped up charged against the accused persons has been thrown out.

The Suggestion of a Perverse Judgment by the Attorney General of the State

We are shocked that the Attorney General (AG) of Kaduna State in her Press Statement said the judgment of the Kaduna High Court was perverse and totally lacking in merit.

What the AG failed to tell the public in the statement is that of the 47 witnesses they called, 40 of them were police officers who never visited the scene of the purported crimes.

What the AG failed to tell the public is that 95% of the Defendants had written statements showing they were not even at the scene of the events that gave rise to the cases and only made it to the scene after the army had killed the over 346 persons who were eventually buried in mass graves by the state.

What the AG failed to tell the public is that the Chief Investigating Police Officer had under cross examination admitted that the army had told him during the course of investigation that Cpl Dan kaduna who was supposed to have been killed by the defendants was actually killed by friendly fire from the soldiers themselves.

What the AG also failed to mention is that none of the witnesses who testified was able to situate any of the Defendants at the scene of the crime in their testimonies.

What the AG did not mention was that at least 10 of the Defendants who were arrested were not even mentioned at all in the case from beginning to end.

What the AG did not mention was that though the charge filed against the Defendants stated that Cpl. Dan Kaduna was killed at Hussainiya when he along with others alighted from the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) the evidence given at trial pointed to the fact that he was killed by his fellow soldiers at a place other than Hussaniya and on the 13th of December not the 12th of December as stated on the charge.

It is also worthy of note that the Attorney General of Kaduna State never appeared in Court even for a day for the entire duration of this matter and cannot in good conscience speak authoritatively on the outcome of the case.

Our Position

The Kaduna State Government is free to exercise its constitutional right of appeal and the defendants who have been unjustly incarcerated for two years and seven months are not afraid of the threat of appeal.

It is not too late for the Kaduna State Government to do what is right, just and equitable by retracing its steps and withdrawing the charges against the remaining members of the Islamic Movement in Nigerian pending before the Hon. Justice Hajara Gwada sitting at NDA since the charges are on all fours with the one before Justice David Shiri Wyoms that has been dismissed and the accused persons discharged and acquitted.

We believe that if the intention of the Kaduna State Government is to punish the accused persons who are still in custody awaiting trial, incarceration for two years and six months is enough punishment.

We believe that it is just, equitable and humane for the Kaduna State Government to assist the students that have lost their studentship to regain their positions in school as they are in the present predicament on account of their unconstitutional and illegal incarceration and trial. The Kaduna State Government should put them on scholarship to enable them continue with their education, pay for their thorough medical examination and pay them compensation to enable them start life afresh.

We also believe that all the workers discharged and acquitted should be documented and assisted to regain their positions in the civil service and public service. The various State Governments stopped their salaries and eventually terminated their appointments on account of their unconstitutional and unlawful incarceration.

The Kaduna State Government should pay condolence visits to the houses of those that lost their lives during their illegal detention and trial. The widows and orphans of those that lost their lives should be compensated and assisted to start life afresh.

The Kaduna State Government must realize that the law demands that accused persons should be prosecuted and not persecuted. The case in Court and others that are in court are clear cases of persecution and no government is permitted to use the machinery of government and power of the state to persecute its citizens.

We have the instructions of our clients to put up a robust defense at the Court of Appeal if the Kaduna State Government refuses to head wise counsel by showing empathy to those who have more or less lost all and insisting on persecuting them.

Update on Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky:

The murderous criminals who brutally murdered 1000+ Shia children, women and men in Zaria in December 2015 further adjourned the case of Sheikh Zakzaky, his wife and Two other brothers to 4th October, 2018.

The murderous criminals and paid agents of Saudi Arabia did not bring Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife to the court probably due to their failing health condition.

The Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who recently boasted that they are behind the brutal and inhuman #ZariaGenocide and the illegal detention of Sheikh Zakzaky want Sheikh Zakzaky to die slowing in prison due to the severe injuries he sustained during Zaria genocide.

Kaduna High Court frees Survivors of the #ZariaGenocide

The Kaduna State High Court today delivered favorable Judgement in the “No Case Subminssion” filed by the defense lawyers on the case brought against nearly 100 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, that were the Survivors of the Saudi-sponsored brutal and inhuman Zaria genocide.

On 12th - 14th December, 2015, President Buhari sent the army to Zaria where they brutally murdered 1000+ innocent and defenseless Nigerian children, women and men. They spent two days killing and bombing innocent civilians and destruction of Shia religious sites. Then two days later they travelled 100KM with the corpses and buried them in mass graves at night to bury the evidences.

Those who survived this genocide were not taken to hospitals or clinics, No, these wicked mass murderers dumped the Survivors in Kaduna central prison. Most of the survivors with bullet wounds but they did not take them to hospital. They dumped them in prison and some of them attained Martyrdom. This monstrous savagery and extreme wickedness underlined the evilness of President Buhari and other Saudi agents in Nigeria. These murderous criminals are absolute evil!

After dumping them in prison, Buhari, Elrufai and gang fabricated trump-up charges against the Survivors and took them to court. They were denied bail and languished in prison for close to 3 Years. Today the court found them not guilty of all charges leveled against them by these wicked and evil Saudi agents. They were all discharged and acquitted by the court. No single charge Succeeded, all the Trump-up charges were thrown out by the court.

Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his injured wife were among the Survivors. President Buhari, Elrufai and other Saudi agents in Nigeria kept them in illegal detention incommunicado for more than two years without charging them to court. A competent Federal High Court in December 2016 Freed Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife from the illegal detention and declared it unconstitutional but evil tyrant Buhari refused to release them. When the #FreeZakzaky protest and campaigns became intense especially the Abuja protest, the murderous criminals now charged Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife to court using the same trump-up charges that the Kaduna High Court dismissed today.

Any sane and responsible government will quickly release Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife after today's judgement since the charges are all the same with the same witnesses. But not with these paid Saudi agents in Nigeria. Recently the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, boasted that they are behind the Zaria genocide and the illegal detention of Sheikh Zakzaky. We heard the Saudi crown prince has pathological hatred for Sheikh Zakzaky. He want Sheikh Zakzaky killed at all cost.

The Free Sheikh Zakzaky campaigns must continue with increasing intensity as the world has seen justice from a competent law court. The Buhari regime must release Sheikh Zakzaky and his injured wife from the more than two years illegal detention incommunicado. These murderous criminals and wicked mass murderers have no any reason to continue the illegal detention of Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife. Both of them need urgent medical attention for God sake!

On a final note, we welcome the survivors to freedom. I can not wait to embrace you all. Your trials and tribulations in the hands of wicked mass murderers will be rewarded by God. No oppression last forever and evil tyrant Buhari and his murderous gang will be history one day. Welcome!

PRESS STATEMENT

*Zaria massacre: Kaduna High Court frees 100 IMN members*

Today, Tuesday, 31/07/18 the Kaduna State High Court again delivered a favourable judgement in the “no case submission” filed by the defense lawyers on the case brought against nearly 100 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, that were arrested at various locations in Zaria
in December 2015 following a brutal clampdown on the Islamic Movement. They have been discharged and acquitted.

This was made known in a Press Statement signed by the President Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim Musa and distributed to pressmen today.

“This judgement has not only vindicated the members of the Islamic movement in Nigeria, but it is certainly a victory for perseverance in the face of extreme persecution. It is a victory for truth and justice against tyranny and impunity,” said the statement.

The Islamic Movement further stated, “It will be recalled that the Kaduna state government sued almost close to 200 members of the Islamic Movement after an attack on the Movement by the Nigerian Army in December 2015 which led to the killing of over a thousand souls, including three sons of the Sheikh Zakzaky, his elder sister and a nephew. The attack was sequel to the unlawful invasion of the privacy of their residence and eventual destruction of the house completely. This has been aptly described by several human rights bodies as a massacre. To worsen these flagrant crimes against humanity, bodies of all the hundreds killed were hurriedly and secretly buried in mass graves about 100km away from the scene, apparently in a shoddy attempt at hiding the crime and its
magnitude.”

It also reiterated its call for the release of its Leader Sheikh Zakzaky, “We are all aware of the crude tactics of the Kaduna state government led by ElRufai all in his devilish plots at perpetuating the persecution against the Islamic Movement and the continued detention incommunicado of Sheikh Zakzaky and his ailing wife in spite of previous court judgement ordering their immediate release from detention, thereby further flaunting his fundamental rights and rights to liberty. With this victory in the court today, the false charges filed against them of aiding and abetting the culpable homicide has been punctured for good. We await the response of the Kaduna state government as Sheikh Zakzaky’s case comes up in the next two days. We expect them to respect the judgement of this honourable court and the course of justice to withdraw the fake charges against him and release him with immediate effect.”

“As a peaceful Movement, we have kept to our clean tradition of seeking redress through peaceful means without any resort to violence despite deliberate and persistent provocations by the government. Today, Kaduna state government has again failed in court after a fair trial. We therefore give praises to the Almighty for yet another successful outing, which further proves to the world that the Movement and its leader are only victims of impunity and mischievous plots by the El-Rufai-led government,” according to the statement.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria thank all those that stood by it throughout the trial, “We wish to use this opportunity to also say a big thank you to all people of conscience, human rights activists and organizations, journalists and all those that joined in our dogged campaign for
justice for the victims of Zaria genocide. Thank you and God bless.”

Trump & Iran:

US President Trump gambled by withdrawing from the #NuclearDeal and his gamble is not paying off. Trump is a notorious gambler with casinos and pubs around the world. Gamblers only think of money and Trump who is notorious with prostitutes think money can buy everything.

Trump calculated that Iran will pull out of the Nuclear Deal after US withdrawal. Iran did not pull out. Trump calculated that UK, Germany and France will also withdraw from the Nuclear Deal. They did not. Trump calculated that if he promise Iran monetary incentives, they will recognize the illegal Zionist regime - something Trump is desperate for. He offered via Switzerland but Iran rejected it.

Trump calculated that he can use US military might to intimidate Iran. He tried and Iran President Hassan Rouhani answered him with "mother of all wars". And Gen. Qassem Sulaimani also answered him in that historic speech.

Iran survived debilitating sanctions from almost the whole world for more than 30 years that included 8 years of the bloody Iran - Iraq War. Is it Trump sanctions that Iran will not survive?

The West hate to see an advancing, prosperous and developed Iran as that will serve as a role model to other developing countries that the greedy West is looting their resources. Reason for all these sanctions against Iran.

20 killed in Zamfara village mosque attack -Daily Trust

Armed bandits Tuesday killed at least 20 people in an attack on Kwaddi village Mosque in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State during Asr prayer.

Since the inception of the Buhari regime more than 5,000 innocent Nigerians had been brutally slaughtered by murderous bandits in Zamfara state. Buhari regime has done nothing to protect these innocent and defenseless Villagers.

*Elrufai's Soldiers Shot 4 Mourners in Zaria*

A combined team of soldiers and police on the orders of Governor El-Rufa'i again opened fire on Muslims of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria this morning 25/7/2018 in Zaria, while peacefully mourning the tragic killings of 34 people during the 2014 International Quds Day by the military under the Jonathan's administration, injuring 4 persons with gunshots.

This was made known to newsmen in a press statement released today by the President of the Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim Musa.

The statement said, “a Couple of minutes after the start of the program, the combined security operatives in about ten vehicles laid siege on the venue, the Darur Rahma cemetery, where the victims of the 2014 military attack were laid to rest, in the outskirts of Zaria city, along Zaria to Jos highway.

“We learnt that apart from the four people who suffered gunshots as a result of the indiscriminate shootings by the security agents, several others escaped with minor injuries, while some were arrested.”

In reference to the shortage of security men in various flashpoints in the state, the statement said, “The Islamic Movement condemn this unnecessary show of force by Governor Elrufa’i, believing that this soldiers and police should have been better deployed along Abuja - Kaduna and Birnin Gwari - Kaduna highways, where the menace of armed robbers and kidnappers has become rampant due to shortage of the security forces.

“We believe there is no point in killing innocent citizens that do not carry arms simply because of their religious disposition. The fact that this 2014 Quds day massacre commemoration has been going on peacefully for the past four years is enough a pointer to the undesirability of today’s attack on unarmed faithful of the Islamic Movement.”

The Islamic Movement further stated that, “We therefore call on the good people of Nigeria and Kaduna state in particular to call Governor Elrufa’i to order. It is a dangerous trend the way he has turned members of the Islamic Movement as soft targets for the heavily armed trigger happy personnel under his control. Enough of this bloodshed. Was he not among the mourners that besieged the now demolished residence of our Leader Sheikh Zakzaky in the aftermath of the military attack in 2014 remonstrating with the Sheikh over the killings?”

The Islamic Movement blame the Kaduna state Governor for today’s attack when it said, “We will like the general public and the international community to hold Governor Elrufai responsible for this latest attack, for it is on record that he boasted at a public function recently in Rigasa Kaduna that he has stopped the religious activities of the Islamic Movement in Kaduna state using brute force at his disposal, forcing us to relocate to Abuja.”

Indomitable Yemenis Turning Bab al-Mandeb Into a Real Gateway of Tears for the Saudi-UAE Coalition

Yemen, or more properly the patriotic people of that war torn country who hate to be under the thumbnail of the US and have over the past three years held their ground against the war machine of the heavily Saudi-UAE coalition, inflicting heavy losses on the aggressors, are worthy of salutation.
Their recent daring raid on the UAE occupied port of Mokha near the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait that wiped out a military base of the aggressors, including the killing of the regional UAE commander, once again proved their indomitable spirit.

At the same time, the Yemenis struck with missiles and sank an advanced UAE naval craft with all soldiers on board, thereby thwarting an attempt to land troops near the besieged port of Hodeidah. This was 16th ship of the coalition to be targeted and the 14th to be sunk.

With meagre resources, shortage of food and medicine due to the air, sea and land blockade, deprived of modern public amenities because of destruction of the infrastructure by the unabated Saudi air strikes, step-motherly treatment by the UN which acting as a tool of the US wants to impose the regional hegemony of Riyadh upon them, and in the face of intense propaganda on the international scale that brands these heroic defenders of their homelands as ‘rebels’, the Yemeni people led by the popular Ansarallah Movement have proved their indomitable spirit to the whole world.

They are neither warmongers nor saboteurs of peace, yet the World Body is unwilling to listen to their just demands for the independence of Yemen and formation of a broad-based national government representing the various tribes and religious groups of the land. Instead the UN repeats in
parrot-like fashion the Saudi taught mantra of the fugitive Mansour Hadi being the ‘internationally-recognized president’, little realizing that this is a questionable term, when the vast majority of the people, even in southern Yemen, have never granted him national recognition.

So far over 20,000 Yemenis have lost their life, hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes, and millions are facing starvation and epidemic diseases, but the Saudi-UAE led aggression continues against them with the full backing of the US, the UK, France and the illegal Zionist
entity, all of whom supply the invaders of Yemen with lethal state-of-the-art military technology.

When the Yemeni defenders retaliate with short and long range missiles on the military-industrial installations of the aggressors, especially of Saudi, then a hue and cry is raised that the Ansarallah are committing war crimes and the Islamic Republic of Iran is supplying them missiles and drones.

Strange logic indeed! When the Saudis have destroyed almost the entire infrastructure of Yemen, are daily killing innocent men, women, and children, and are preventing the flow of food and medicine, yet these brutalities are not considered war crimes.

More strange is Iran’s alleged supply of arms and ammunitions to blockaded Yemen – as if the Ansarallah have no right to procure weapons from international markets although they do not need it in view of their wellstacked arsenals – while there seems to be nothing wrong with the pouring in of deadly weapons into the over-stocked arsenals of the aggressors, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

If Iran were to actually supply military technology to the Ansarallah, the Saudi-UAE aggressors would not only have been defeated and driven out of Yemen, but the Yemenis would have liberated their Saudi-occupied northern provinces of Asir, Najran, and Jizan, which the Wahhabis had seized
in 1934.

With the Saudi-UAE aggressors doing a slow, face saving retreat after their failed offensive on Hodeida, the UN, ought to end its delusion of taking charge of the Hodeida port and should instead try to salvage its credibility by negotiating the complete withdrawal of the aggressors from Yemen,
so that the different Yemeni factions can get together to form a broad-based national government.

Then only can peace return to Yemen, since, as said at the beginning of this column, the Yemeni people hate any foreign meddling in their internal affairs, whether it is from Saudi, UAE, or the Americans.

In view of this fact, recently the Head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashart, called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to play a mediating role for a peaceful end to the crisis in order to save the Red Sea and the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait from turning into an American Lake
as the Saudis and Emiratis are trying to do.

In the meantime, the Ansarallah are determined to defeat the designs of the aggressors by turning the Bab al-Mandeb into a real Gateway of Tears and the Red Sea a crimson-blood waterway for the Saudis, the Emiratis and the Americans.

IPOB demands release of Dasuki, El-Zakzaky

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on International Criminal Court (ICC), in the Hague, to prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to obey court judgements and orders by releasing the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki and Sheikh El-Zakzaky who were granted bail by different courts but refused to be released by the powers that be in the country.

The group appealed to the President of the ICC, Justice Chile Eboe-Osuji, and the Chief Prosecutor of the court, Madame Fatou Bensouda, to compel Federal Government to release the duo without further delay as ordered by various law courts in Nigeria.

A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, said that in a situation the Nigerian president refused to release them that Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA) National Judicial Council (NJC) and the entire judicial machinery in Nigeria should consider going on strike as a way of forcing the government to obey judicial pronouncements.

Powerful, who condemned in the strong terms, the statement credited to Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Mallami over the refusal of this administration to obey multiple court orders to release both El-Zakzaky and Dasuki from extra judicial detention.

He said that the most recent ruling by Hon. Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, admitting Dasuki on bail has once again been ignored, so has numerous pronouncements by the courts to set Sheik El-Zakzaky free, stressing that this flagrant disobedience of the rule of law was not only shameful but also an impeachable offence.

The statement said said, “Coming at the heels of ‘Buhari’s’ lecture at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague on the virtues of rule of law and the commitment of his government to adhere to court orders, it is hypocritical and criminal for the those that invited ‘Buhari’ to address them at the Hague conference to keep silent as rule of law is being destroyed in Nigeria.”

“The black African President of the ICC Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji and the equally black African Chief Prosecutor of the court Madame Fatou Bensouda must cover their faces in shame for inviting a man they know doesn’t obey the law to address them on the need for a government to adhere to the rule of law.”

“Inviting Buhari to address the ICC when he has steadfastly refused to obey the law when it comes to Col. Dasuki, Sheikh El-Zakzaky and many IPOB detainees is the greatest mistake the court has ever made.”

“It doesn’t speak well of the diplomatic community in Nigeria either, especially Britain, the colonial master and creator, to maintain a deafening silence in the face of unbridled tyranny.

“If Britain can offer its public opinion on the probity or lack of, in the conduct of elections in Ekiti State, surely it has a moral obligation to admonish the ‘Buhari’ government on its refusal to obey the law. Refusal to obey any given court order is reaffirmation that Nigeria is only practicing paper democracy not in deed.”

“Anywhere on earth the government is above the law, that society seizes to be regarded as democratic. A US president obeys court orders, so does a British Prime Minister, why not ‘Buhari’.

“Therefore those presently referring to Nigeria as a democracy are knowingly and willfully misleading the public, because democracies obey the rule of law.”

“When an Attorney General of a country proudly stand up to defend what is in essence indefensible, one is bound to question the collective mental ability of such a society and wonder if indeed they are civilised.”

“Courage means standing up for what is right, especially in defence of those who cannot defend themselves regardless of ethnicity, religion or orientation. That is what IPOB was created for and what it will continue to uphold until Biafra is restored and beyond.

“The very least ICC can now do, along with the diplomatic community of civilised nations resident in Nigeria, is to prevail upon ‘Buhari’ to release Col. Dasuki and Sheikh El-Zakzaky without further delay as ordered by various law courts of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Nigeria Bar Association, National Judicial Council (NJC) and the entire judicial machinery in Nigeria should consider going on strike as a way of forcing this government to obey judicial pronouncements,” Powerful stated.

Friday Reflection: Fear God, Do Not Fear Tyrants

Few months back when I was to return to Nigeria from Iran. We got information that I will be arrested by the Buhari regime on my arrival. Some brothers suggested I should proceed to Lebanon for the recovery. I insisted that I will return to Nigeria.

When I arrived Nigeria at the Abuja airport, I saw four (4) security agents - two Whites, two Nigerians - waiting for me. When the immigration officials saw my passport they quickly looked at these four agents and gave them a sign as if telling them "He is the one!" There was no arrest. I thought I will pass the night in Abuja prison but I slept in an Abuja Hotel.

We watch with utmost consternation seeing Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari attending a function at the International Criminal Court in Hague instead of the World Apex court to start processes for his prosecution.

It is pertinent to note that the Nigerian President supervised the massacre of over 1000 shittes in Zaria with many women and children thrown down from upstairs.

President Muhammadu Buhari went further to justify the killings on a national Television without any recourse for those that were massacred in Zaria, Kaduna State on that ill faithful day.

We also want to draw the attention of the International Criminal Court to the injustice being Meted out on the peaceful Indigenous People of Biafra who were protesting for self determination.

Under International law, the principle of self-determination is prominently embodied in Article I of the Charter of the United Nations. The Article provides that: All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

President Muhammadu Buhari, in his usual Highhandedness and gross abuse of human rights, sent the Nigerian Army with code name ‘Operation Python Dance’ to kill and maim harmless IPOB protesters.

The Nigerian government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari went further to proscribe the IPOB as a terrorist organization leaving marauding killer Herdsmen that have killed thousands of Nigerians to operate freely unchallenged.

Update on Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky:

The Court Case of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife was again adjourned to August 2, 2018.

The Buhari regime claimed the case was adjourned because "they were unable to serve the third accused, Sheikh Yakubu Yahaya Katsina and fourth, Dr Sanusi Abdulkadir Kano".

It is important to note that the Buhari regime did not make any effort to serve the Court notice to the third and fourth accused. They deliberately refused to serve them the Court notice so as to have a pretext to drag the case and the bail application.

The murderous criminals (Buhari, Elrufai and gang) who brutally slaughtered 1000+ Shia children, women and men in Zaria that included 3 children of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky are charging Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife with "Murder" of a person they had never met or seen!

Economic activities were completely paralysed on Wednesday in Kaduna as Banks, schools, shops and even the central market were all deserted, with all the premises under lock.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria has no plan to disturb peace in Kaduna.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria has called on the general public to disregard a fake news being spread in the social media, alleging that it intends to ‘attack’ Kaduna tomorrow, due to the arraignment of its Leader, Sheikh Zakzaky in a Kaduna state High Court.

This was made known to newsmen in a press release signed by Ibrahim Musa, the President of Media Forum of Islamic Movement in Nigeria and made available to them today.

It reads: "The Islamic Movement in Nigeria cautions the general public about some false statements being circulated today Tuesday 10th July, 2018 among residents of Kaduna city that we are planning a "big attack” tomorrow during the trial of our leader, Sheikh Zakzaky at the high court. One of the messages being circulated on WhatsApp reads: "Security alert. Kindly avoid Magajin garin and Kasuwa areas dis Wednesday 11th. D Zakzaky people are planning a big attack. Pass it on".

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria expressed shock and deep sadness over the false story, saying “It's a false flag message which we believe is being peddled by our detractors, the security agents inclusive. We have never staged any attack on anybody throughout our 40 year history. Even at the last sitting it was the security agents that attacked us and disturb public peace. We urge the public to disregard that devilish message and go about their businesses. We are peaceful as we have been for many years.”

According to the President of the Media Forum, “The truth of the matter is we don’t even have any plan to stage a peaceful protest in Kaduna tomorrow. This clearly shows that the messages were mischievously concocted to damage the peaceful reputation we enjoy among the public.”

The statement from the Islamic Movement concluded, “We are aware of attempts by the security operatives to turn our peaceful protests to violent ones by attacking us unconstitutionally. We will therefore like to assure the public that our history speaks for us, we are always the victims of forceful aggression. We however wish to caution our oppressors to abide by the constitutional demands of allowing peaceful assembly and protest of citizens wherever and whenever. We have never killed, maimed nor destroyed anybody’s property, and we will not start it now. All that we are saying and will keep on saying is FREE OUR LEADER SHEIKH ZAKZAKY.”

Boko Haram: 6 Years After, Slain DPO’s Wife Got Only N400K From Police

Her name is Hauwa Garba and her husband was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Potiskum, Yobe State, late Deputy Superintendant of Police, Aliyu Garba.

About six years ago, the late Garba was killed during the exchange of fire between security personnel and BokoHaram terrorists in a midnight attack they launched on Potiskum. However, despite losing his life in the fight against the insurgents, Garba’s widow, Hauwa, has said that the ill treatment and the lackadaisical attitude of the Nigerian Police to her plight and that of her children since the demise of her husband and bread winner of the family, has been disappointing and discouraging.

Narrating her ordeal, the widow lamented that all the Nigerian Police Force gave her after the unfortunate incident till date was N400, 000.

Mrs. Hauwa Garba, who had four kids with her late husband, said she was given the money when they were arranging for his burial, and that all efforts she made thereafter to see whether the police had any other payment to make as benefits accruable to the family proved abortive.
