Around three months ago an open letter written by one of Olamide's fan was on the front page. Olamide replies him in one of his Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album tracks, if you have already purchase the album play track 13. Sitting On The Throne. Olamide says "Shoutout to one of my fans, to ko open letter si mi, o ni pe kin chill but ko mo bi ebi se n'pami ni, mo n husttle bi omo ale, se inu yin ma dun tin ba jale" In English, he gives shoutout to the fan that wrote the open letter & said the fan doesn't know how hungry he is, and it wouldn't sound well if we hear that he is an armed robber and finally he is a hustler he gotta to hustle hard in legit ways. I really love the way he replied.... thumbs up! baddo_Lee eruku to fa kukushi dey Shanghai

Education › Iyayi: ASUU Bans Procession For Late Leader by Elcapo(op): 6:31am On Nov 20, 2013 |
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has banned a faction of the union at the University of Ilorin, led by Professor Wahab Egbewole, from going ahead with its planned procession for the late Prof. Festus Iyayi.
The union said it was still mourning Iyayi, who died when a bus conveying some ASUU leaders was involved in an accident with a vehicle in the convoy of Kogi State Governor Idris Wada in Lokoja last week.
ASUU said it had not approved any procession for any of its branches. It also described the planned procession in Ilorin as hypocritical.
In a release issued in Ibadan on Tuesday and signed by the Zonal Coordinators of Ilorin and Ibadan zones, Dr. Ayan Adeleke and Dr. Adesola Nasir respectively, titled “Do not desecrate the memory of our late president,” ASUU said the national leadership of the union would not permit any attempt by any group in UNILORIN to desecrate the memory of its late leader.
“The attention of the union has been drawn to attempts by a group led by Prof. Wahab Egbewole of the University of Ilorin to desecrate the memory of the late former President of our union by issuing a notice of a so-called “procession” for him in the University of Ilorin,” the statement read in part.
It added that the factional leader had been expelled from the union and its activities.
The coordinators said Iyayi had during his lifetime spoken against the inhuman and degrading treatment being meted out to genuine members of the union in Ilorin, stressing that it would be wrong for a group to attempt to make publicity gains from his death.
They said, “Our late president, who in the past had suffered the same kind of degrading and inhuman treatment being meted out to genuine ASUU representatives in the University of Ilorin, constantly, spoke against the charlatanism of those who are illegally parading themselves as ASUU officials in the branch.
“Indeed, Iyayi was against everything that Egbewole and his group stand for in relation to ASUU. It is therefore the height of provocation and insensitivity for the group to seek to make publicity gains out of the death of our late former president.” source: http://www.punchng.com/news/iyayi-ASUU-bans-procession-for-late-leader/ |

Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido was quoted as saying: “Do you know that recently a top minister received a $250 million (about 42.25 billion) bribe for himself… he (the minister) is in the cabinet; he is in this current regime; he knows and I know, and I told the President.” But Jonathan, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, described the governor’s claim as “grossly irresponsible, false and mischievous.” guys what do u think? Is sule lamido right about this? Or is he just saying these because he's part of the G7? |

Politics › Clara Chime Packs-out Of Enugu Govt House, Opens Up by Elcapo(op): 10:26pm On Nov 11, 2013*. Modified: 10:25am On Nov 12, 2013 |
Mrs. Clara Chime on Monday stated that she was forced to remain as wife of Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State.
She said she would have walked away from the marriage during the period Chime was sick and away for five months, but remained on “very compassionate grounds.”
Mrs. Chime said her thinking was that sickness would change the governor’s ways towards her, but stated that he even got worse months after his return from undergoing a cancer treatment abroad.
According to her, on many occasions she attempted to leave, her family members, for pecuniary reasons, insisted she stayed put.
She said even when it was apparent that Chime no longer wanted the marriage, her family wouldn’t let her go.
She made this disclosure through the mobile telephone set of one of her male siblings, about four hours after she eventually packed out from the Governors Lodge.
The sibling declined revealing his identity to The PUNCH, but stated that he was one of the few family members who supported Mrs. Chime’s agitation to quit the marriage.
He said if he revealed his identity, it could cause a stir between him and other family members, who were still holding meetings with members of the Chime family on the matter.
He claimed that the governor had long lost interest in the marriage but held forth because he (Chime) didn’t want any scandal over the issue.
“So, there was no need joining other family members into forcing her to remain in a marriage that he (the governor) was no longer interested in,” said the source. http://www.punchng.com/news/chimes-wife-packs-out-of-govt-house-opens-up/ |
Politics › Nigeria Attracted N3.2tn Investment In Three Years -FG by Elcapo(op): 8:09pm On Nov 11, 2013 |
Within the last three years, over $20bn (N3.2tn) Foreign Direct Investment has been attracted into the Nigerian economy, the Federal Government has said.
The figure was revealed on Monday in Abuja during a world press conference on the 24th World Economic Forum on Africa which Nigeria will host next year in Nigeria.
The summit, scheduled for Abuja, will be the first time the WEF will be held in West Africa
The N3.2tn invested in the Nigerian economy within the last three years represents 10 per cent of the entire African continent FDI.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, while addressing journalists, said the forum with the theme ‘Forging inclusive growth, creating jobs’, would further help to attract more investments into the economy.
She said the forum offered an unprecedented opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its vast economic opportunities to the world and deepen dialogue on economic reforms between the international and Nigerian private sector.
The theme, according to her, was chosen because it aligns perfectly with the medium and long-term aspirations and commitment of the Federal Government.
She said hosting the economic conference next year would not only ensure that Nigeria remains the largest recipient of FDI in Africa, but ensuring that the investments it attracts are broad based.
This, she added, would help generate millions of jobs for the youthful population.
The minister said, “The WEF is an organisation that has been in existence for more than 25 years. The reason and objectives is to bring together top-class Chief Executive Officers of big organisation in the world together with government in order to forge partnership that can lead to investments to the improvement of the private sector in given countries so that you can have improved job creation and improvement of standards of living.
“We are very honoured and it’s very clear the reason why Nigeria made the list of this conference and the reason is that they find it very fascinating the developments that are happening in the Nigerian economy.”
|
