Ok. Does CAC have the power to make such pronouncement? How would CAC find out those who have complied with the requirement recently demanded by government? I thought the job of CAC is to register business names. Is it not the job of the law enforcement agents to arrest and prosecute those who have failed to comply? Will CAC hit the streets to arrest and prosecute those who failed to register? And by the way, what would happen to operators in the remote communities, or those who are in areas that are difficult to access by roads? Is registration free of charge for them? Or has CAC given incentives like reduction of the registration fee for POS operators who have so far not complied? |
mrvitalis:I made some corrections. Please read my initial comment and I will revert to your response. Thanks. |
mrvitalis:How many jobs can you create from your said 5 factories? I am surprised that you do not know that 100,000 can more than set up small businesses for people, even with the present hues and cries. Are you in any form of business? Please check. With 100,000:00 you can kick start retail eggs. With 100,000:00 you can kick start pepper/tomatoes With 100,000:00 you can kickstart roasted corn, etc. With 100,000:00 you can kickstart retail bread With 100,000:00 you can kickstart noodles and eggs on the streets. With 100,000 POS business is established. With 100,000:00 you can kickstart a little mama put. Imagine that there are serious minded 10,000 people with such sums, the rate of unemployment would reduce. The so called jobless youths can get something doing. Those who manufacture shoes in Aba can have agents with cash who distribute. That’s what Otti is looking at. The multiplier effect is massive. Food on the table for many. Less complaints about poor governance Bills are paid Children are sent to school, etc. Taxes are paid and government can have funds for development of the state. More people get into the tax net now in Abia state. My disagreement is that Abia state government prioritizes established businesses for the program. That’s shortsighted and would not have the intended effect for me. I absolutely agree with Obi’s ideas, investing in the people. Your idea about the factories are sensible to me, but I think the government should look away from established businesses and lift up those who are presently unemployed. Thanks. |
Is Okocha speaking on behalf of PDP? He should be deeply ashamed of himself. He should face his APC business and leave PDP with their own business. In free and fair elections, APC does not stand any chance in Rivers state. |
Oloki:That’s the fear, especially with the high prevalence of cholera in the country now. I agree that for now, if you cannot make fura sa nono, tiger nuts, zobo, etc on your own with clean water, leave them alone. |
Hopefully those shot would not lose their lives. Hopefully the victim was not harmed and money not lost. Hopefully the abducted is found shortly. Hopefully the criminals are caught and punished in accordance with the law. |
He drove himself to prison in Niger state. He looks like nkapi, if I am not mistaken. |
Kwinesther:Thank you very much for this. With the way things are presently, that basket full of tomatoes was a great bargain. I was actually joking with my comment in the first place. Do enjoy your evening. |
OAFMods:Can you take your tribal talk off my mention? You may please discuss with those who share the same opinion with you. Thanks. |
Calitoscassius:That’s Ghadebo Rhodes Vivour. The Labour Party candidate in the 2023 Lagos state governorship election. He lost to the present governor, Mr. Sanwo Olu. He is a Yoruba man from Lagos state, with an Igbo mother and an Igbo wife. Out of tribalistic self centeredness, certain people threw up the narrative that he was a Igbo man, just to de-market him and drive home their point that the Igbos wanted to take over Lagos. Unfortunately they all never knew that before Tinubu’s governorship in 1999, Lagos had been governed by the military men from the SE and NE. You can look up his profile on google. |
Calitoscassius:Thank you for your further clarification. I do not have information about her mother’s nationality. I just looked at it from the point of her name. Your second paragraph needs for you to note that people have rights over the names given to them after birth or when they have come of age. For example, someone can say that he no longer likes the names given to him at birth, for his own reasons. Some say there are particular names that they find nauseating and they want to change the names. I absolutely agree with your position in your fifth paragraph. The lady certainly cannot be termed a foreigner in the UK, with her status as a Briton. Infact one is no longer called a foreigner, once citizenship is conferred. Maybe you choose to spell Nigeria that way for your convenience. Remember to visit from time to time, especially at Christmas, when Igboland is filled with enjoyment in all the communities. In all, I thank you for the decorum in the conversation. Cheers. |
Very sound advise. Now the retirees face old age. They need to save their money and plan usage of such money properly. Having served for either 35 years or meeting the age deadline to retire, it is now time to rest for them. They must not hand over their retirement funds to those who lie and deceive them. They must not hand over to fake investment experts. They must not put all the money into fish farming, without proper training or idea. It has ruined too many retirees. They must not hand over to emergency importers, who promise them 500% return on investment. They must not trust their children to help them invest in bitcoins, forex and other get rich quick schemes. They must carefully handle the money, while planning effectively for investments, if necessary. Sentiments must not play any role with horrible children, who want to kill their parents and run away with their retirement benefit. Stay away from them. |
Fantastic. |
cjudy:You are very wicked o. |
Who is he? Never saw that face, never heard that name. |
Go to Mama Moriya with that money and see whether she no go shout ole for your head. |
These are called toma and not tomatoes. You no see ripe ones buy there? The stew no go taste like bitter leaf? Jokes apart, I think you made a good buy, considering the way things are. Tomatoes have become like contraband. The prices are beginning to reduce anyway. Can you buy for us and despatch? |
Masterviolence:You do not know how they work. Ask questions and get answers. |
Namaster:So eliminating six kidnappers and arresting the seventh one was not police work to you. Destroying evil men to keep the society where you live is not police work to you? Oya become rich so that the same police can become your bodyguards and you can enjoy the benefits. |
Ritchiee:In spite of all your billions and investments, feeding even once a day, is a big problem. With your tangible investments, you still beg for food. More than 100 years and those who cannot boast of 45 own properties where you live and over your head. No be juju be that? Meanwhile a fellow Nigerian like you was promoted Brigadier General in the US army in 2022. She is a woman for that matter. |
Calitoscassius:Haba! The Nigerian name surely would have been given to her at birth? The two of us were not there when she was born. Our attraction to her is her name, which is Nigerian. That surely is not in dispute. When I say home, I mean Nigeria, or to be more specific, to their particular tribe or state. AJ is an example of identifying with his home. Until his profile came up, not many knew of his Nigerian roots. To drive home his relationship with Nigeria, he visited on some occasions, even as he identifies and fights as a Briton. Sure, they may not consider Nigeria or Africa as their home, in the context of residency. However the truth remains that Nigeria is their home and they are always welcome anytime they deem it to be here. Obama was born in Hawai, by a Kenyan father and an American mother. He is definitely an American, but that did not clean off his roots. He admitted that and said much more about his Kenyan roots. That’s the way it is for those who do not throw away their roots because of civilization. And by the way, why do you spell Nigeria as Naigeria? You did that repeatedly. |
Ritchiee:You wey dey forward, how far now? |
Calitoscassius:If she doesn’t identify with Nigeria, why does she bear a Nigerian name? She’s British. She’ll defend British interests first. But it does not stop her from identifying with her roots. That’s why Nigerians in such positions abroad, either in government, sports or entertainment, always want to return home. They do not forget home. |
Clear victory. |
adebowales:Learned man. Can you please tell us what you think you know more than us? That would be appreciated. |
Kobicove:That’s exactly what it is. It is called FABU! |
Somilat:Oh thanks. I did not take a clear look at the image. |
adebowales:In a war, there are no rules, otherwise Russia would not be destroying whole cities, towns, villages, people and animals in Ukraine. Iran and its axis of evil are not able to prevail over Israel. The truth remains that Israel has the military advantage over them all combined. Of all the nations with nuclear weapons, Israel is one of the only five who possess air, sea and land nuclear weapons. They are easily able to destroy those nations combined, if their very existence is threatened. Do you think Ukraine does not have the capacity to strike Moscow? Or do you think NATO does not u set stand the danger of Ukraine attacking Russia directly with their weapons. A nuclear war would be provoked because the Russians would see it as a threat to their existence. We pray and hope for peace to prevail. We pray and hope for a two state solution. We pray and hope that thereafter, Iran will not continue with the desire to wipe Israel away from the face of the earth. |
MT:And the Indians would never give you their citizenship, yet they have citizenships of other countries all over the world. Spend eternity and you’ll never be an Indian. If the English were tribalistic, Rishi Sunak would not be the PM. Rishi Sunak's government has faced the economic consequences of Covid 19, tensions with the union, high national debt, high energy prices, inflation with the citizens groaning under it, weak economic growth, etc. It’s time for him to leave, just like we do not expect one baba to stay beyond 2027 with his horrible errors in Nigeria. |
Namaster:Sorry, but the ayatollahs have always been the terrorists. |
They somehow lose more than Israel each time the exchanges happen. If the Israelis do not kill commanders, they kill large number of citizens. They also destroy whole towns and communities. Hezbollah, Hamas, Iran, PL, Syria, the Houthis, always pay far worse prices. This war needs to end. Pressed by the axis of evil and a threat to the existence of the state of Israel, expect the use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. |

i wasn't suggesting that we were present at her birth.
it isn't for us to chose where her home is or should be in terms of roots.
