Don’t mind the unlearned fellows.

All the know how to shout is genocide. They push the Iranians to believe that they are able to withstand the Americans and Israelis. When they get destroyed, the same people shout genocide.

The Americans are able to easily wipe out Iran in one day without nuclear weapons. They consider humanity, as against the evil regime in Iran that does not have one little human sympathy.
SportsRe: Italy FA Awaits Guardiola's Response For Vacant National Team Job by ElevationD: 11:06am
Argentina and Brazil need someone of Guardiola’s standing now.

Football development should be focused more in their countries. Allowing great talents move to Europe at early stages of their development has taken its toll on all the countries of South America, making Europe the focus for all.

Someone of Guardiola’s standing and style will revive typical South American football and help to restore it. South American football is truly missed and the quality was not there during the World Cup.
PoliticsRe: Residents of Obehie-Azumini In Abia State Call Out Gov Alex Otti Over Bad Roads by ElevationD: 10:47am
APC supporters in the state. Orji spent eight years. Did he work there? Theodore Orji spent eight years, did he work there? Ikpeazu spent eight years and could not complete the center table that he called a bridge.

Simply show the working Governor without noise and watch him fix the road.

Alex Otti is the man who rescued and continues to rescue Abia state.

By the way, why have their representatives in the senate, house of reps, state assembly, LG and councillors been silent over the road. It did not become horrible this year, or in the three years of Otti’s leadership.

Since the road is a federal road, what have the Senator and members of the house of reps covering that zone done so far?

Razzness:
Lol! anytime I see this kind of news i just laugh. You see this war of attrition, is exactly the kind of war that plays in Iran's favor. They will drag the US through 5 miles of mud in this kind of war. Iran will burn the entire US gulf allies before they go down. This is a fact.

You see that Kharg Island Trump is ranting about, he will not know loss until he makes the mistake of sending ground troops.

When I even understood the US was not serious was when they burned 100-million-dollar aircrafts to rescue a downed pilot in Iran. So you wan follow pig fight but you dey fear to stain you white cloth. You never ready!
Some of you simplify these issues as if they are football matches.

So you safely and comfortably assume that other Middle East countries with a combined defence budget of over 2 trillion, not including Israel, will just sit and watch Iran burn down their countries? You do not know that they reserve the right to respond?

So you safely think that Saudi Arabia does not possess the weapons to fight back? Or you think that the Iranian leadership does not know the risk of going head to head against the Israelis once again?

Imagine that other Gulf countries combine forces with the USA and Israel. What will happen if they get into an open war with those other countries all bombing Iran?

The bill says all preaching. We have more than 50 religions in nigeria grouped into 3 major buckets. Is it only Christians that preach?

This is just public nuisance. Imagine a traditional worshipper preaching now in the bus, they will start shouting.

Frankly all form of public preaching should be banned. Same with using public address systems on sundays, fridays, adhans etc. They are intrusions to other's right to privacy. Imagine someone waking you up at 5.30am after a long shift? Keep religions to soundproofed place of worship
Yes, it is only Christians who preach openly. Where have you seen Muslims preach openly? Is preaching a method of sharing their message or violence?
Have you seen ever traditional worshippers openly talking about their gods?

There’s been a huge level of discrimination and part of the fall out of the Muslim Muslim ticket.

So if there’s an intrusion, inform the preacher gently and it will be sorted out.

Happy birthday to Sir Peter Gregory Obi.

nairavsdollars:
Happy birthday but Very weakling of a man. His action with Isaac Fayose had me gutted
Where’s the weakness?

Some of you just speak without insight or knowledge.

The reason why Wike joined Tinubu was Atiku’s arrogance as a leader. It was a clear weakness. After their primaries in 2023, if only he addressed grievances as a leader and brought them all together, he probably would be the President today. He was practically pushed and begged to accept Amaechi as his running mate under the present ADC.

Tinubu always talks of his political family. As the leader, he has the responsibility of addressing their grievances and MUST listen to them, to keep them all together. Before he became the President, he visited his contacts in their homes and amended ways with those who were willing. They all worked for him to achieve his goal.

Political leaders are servants, not just to their supporters, but to everyone. Leadership is service and humility.

Why’s Peter Obi’s case an issue to your likes?
He saw an issue within his political family. He probably had not recognized the enormity of Isaac Fayose’s sacrifice until the problem came up. When the information got to him, he quickly moved to address the grievance with humility. That immediately returned Isaac to the fold and increase his status too. If he was in his way to Tinubu’s camp, Obi pulled him back. Isaac Fayose was impressed and very proud to have such a person visit him in his home. Watch out for how his confidence will grow and his contributions increase to achieve success. Again, Obi brought peace and unity to the Obidient family with that single move.

Can you remember the so called nPDP (sitting PDP governors that decamped to the APC

Number brother man, numbers. I repeat, no matter where it is coming from just gather the numbers not pushing them away. When you get to the throne you can now do your weeding.

"When Obi defeats Tinubu, by the grace of God in 2027" Herein lies the problem, WISHFUL THINKING, unfortunately that can never win you election anywhere. As you lay your bed so you lie on it. The more people you chase away, the better for your rival, even if they don't join your rival.

Ideologies? In African politics? okay, let's assume it. what is Obi's ideology? is it the same as the 5 political parties he has transversed? and how has he been able to convince people of that ideology to vote for him, by abusing, cursing and denigrating anybody that doesn't see things their own way?

Anyway, as a reminder, PDP won 16 states that became 18 states in 2014 after court rulings. With APC at the center, did you not expect the governors, who never had ideologies, to remain in the party that did not win the center? Aside from Ilaje in Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states had their elections and results were split. How did a newly formed APC’s heavy weights win seats?

“The more please you chase away”. Who chased El Rufai away from APC?

Please quote directly from Peter Obi, one word of abuse or insult on people. Can you in all honesty tell us how Tinubu went from AD to APC?

Seems you are not getting my point. In a game of numbers, I can give up 2 if it will gain me 3 or 4. Why did the famous Buhari's claim of "dot in a circle" not come back to haunt him?

How many has Tinubu lost, and how many has he gained since 2023. Whether by financial inducement, or by intimidation, or by rice and agbado, or gala and malt. He has gained more numbers than he has lost, out of who were his fiercest critics like Reno, Fani Kayode, Bwala, many northen heavyweights.

Tell me 1 single strong person that was anti-Obi in 2023 that is now pro-Obi. the reverse is the case we are seeing many Pro-Obi of 2023 becoming anti-Obi and this is just less than 6 months to election, instead of you people to cajole, persuade, pamper those that want to leave not to, and try to bring other people in, No, once the person doesn't support who you support the insults, abuse and co start raining.

Even if Obi can turn Nigeria to USA within 3 months, we would never know because you need numbers to get there first, numbers, not insults, not online banters like my football club against yours. Numbers and numbers, no matter where it is coming from. You an educated person is 1 and that woman that a can of Malt and one Gala is enough for has already knocked off your 1 despite all your education.

Thank you for your attention to the matter
You make me laugh. You seem to follow politics with no insight.

When APC won in 2014, in how many states did PDP retain power? Can you remember?
When Tinubu won in 2023, how many states did PDP and the opposition parties combined control?

How many members of the state and National Assembly decamped? Why did they all decamp since 2014? Simple. Politicians in Nigeria gravitates towards the person who controls the wealth. In this case, APC and whoever is the President.

When Obi defeats Tinubu, by the grace of God in 2027, would you expect “anywhere belle face” politicians to remain in APC? No. They will all become Obidients.

If Buhari’s “dot in the circle” comment did not haunt him, did it not haunt his party in 2023? Or was BAT not the flag bearer who faced was on the ballot? Did Buhari not lose in Aso rock?

You need numbers to win elections. But with those numbers, you need loyalty. Numbers come when loyal members remain and propagate the ideas of the leader. Nigerians do not do that. Study the USA and Europe. Parties have ideologies and only their ideologies convince their followers. That’s the same with the mullahs in Iran and those who believe them.

Kwankwanso and Obi were not in the same party in 2023. Kwankwanso, Galadima, etc were anti Obi, borrowing your words. Where are they today?

The fact that you people still fail to understand is that in a democracy anybody and everybody is free to support whoever and for whatever reason. It could be based on Gala and malt, rice, dollars, my tribe, my religion, employment, road infrastructure, etc.

For you people to now think anybody that supports the other candidate aside your own is a devil or bad person to be castigated, abused, called all sort of names is the main reason it will be difficult for whoever, I mean whoever you guys support to win presidential election in Nigeria.

Democracy is a game of numbers, you look for more "friends" not more "enemies". Try to make others align with the reason you are supporting your own candidate (because you obviously have your own personal reason out of the ones I listed above), not raining curses and abuse on them for their own reason of supporting their candidates.

Politics is a game bro, if you don't know how to play it, YOU CAN NEVER WIN

Thank you for your attention to this matter
When one man screamed “emi lokan”, what was he implying?

When the same man stated that he had been getting ready since twenty years, building bridges and support bases, what did you expect?

If democracy is about “friends” and not “enemies”, can you explain why a man of the stature of El Rufai, who coordinated the north to support BAT is still in detention?

Sorry bro, politics is a game of interests and not friendships. Enmity is part of the game. You hear the words “political friendship”, “political interest” and “political enemy”. That’s the basis for Wike’s battle against Amaechi, Fubara and others.

“…in a democracy anybody and everybody is free…”. That’s incorrect. If it was correct, the likes of Tinubu cannot confidently talk about a particular group of men within and around him with pride, labeling them his most trusted people.

Why do you obidients attack only Yoruba people that u see hanging with Tinubu or his son? You never attack Blanca Ojukwu dt works for him, or Zack orji dt doesn’t miss any Tinubu campaign and is in full APC regalia.

The hypocrisy exposes the tribalism. The tribalism is too disgusting.
Just imagine how you contradict and disgrace yourself publicly.

While you talk about tribalism, you carelessly and myopically choose that path believing that Obi’s followers are tribalistic. Your blind choice does not let you know that Tinubu’s support cuts across tribes and religion, with APC controlling two states in the SE. Can you point to one state in the SW where Obi’s party controls? You also pretend not to know that Obi’s supporters cut across tribe and religion. So to you, Obi’s supporters are only those of his tribe, while Tinubu’s supporters are only of his own tribe.

Tell us how it is wrong for people to question the loyalty of Isaac Fayose, who they held in high esteem, believing him to be a staunch supporter of their leader, only for him to turn around and eulogize a political opponent, hoping to get away with it. Do you understand the word “loyalty”?

With the tag “backstabbers” labeled on a particular tribe, how do you expect the supporters not to see it that way?

Some of you are just like the Mullahs of Iran. You first attack, kill and hide. When a reprisal is launched, you shout genocide. You accuse others of tribalism, whereas that’s what you all personify.

If you took your time to listen to Isaac Fayose in that video, you’d have heard him saying that he had fun with Seyi Tinubu and others, who he hanged out with. Do you understand the meaning of “hang out”? Seyi Tinubu walked him to his car and they prayed together, according to him. In that same breathe, Isaac accused his own elder brother Ayo and said that their differences were political. Maybe you chose to ignore those words or your phone’s speaker did not permit you to hear him clearly.

PoliticsRe: Judges Houses: Under What Law Are We Operating? - Falana by ElevationD: 3:47pm On Jul 17
nairalanda1:
Yes, and let's also assume you don't build house for judges.

Rent in Abuja is very expensive. Even one bedroom apartment is far more expensive than some young people's salaries. It is cheaper in the satellite towns , but your fuel cost transporting yourself would at the end of the day eat a lot of money

That means judges would be in financial trobule...so what do they do? Yes, they will listen to the government intermiediary who offers BRIBES AND INDUCEMENTS, to get more money.

It works both ways.

Which is why I said, in the part of my post that you did not read, that judges should approach a bank AND GET A MORTGAGE. No government or other inducement, and dem go build their houses in peace, and over time pay back the loan.

FMBN, and a host of other mortgage banks offer loans. Many housing companies also offer financing for houses. Yes, payment, but at least over a period of time. A lot of abuja people do the thing.
I read you initial comment and understood your proposition. I simply was laying emphasis on the legality or not of politicians building houses for government officials, in this case judges.

Agreed with you. Judges are civil servants too. That’s the angle of Femi Falana, when he talked about fairness. If other civil servants can access loans to build their own homes, why should judges no chart the same course, which must be termed unnecessary? Why must emphasis be laid on buying huge and costly SUVs for judges, along with building houses for them? Can such judges be counted upon to deliver impartial judgements? By the way, why would the NJC not prohibit such gifts?

So, yes, if other civil servants can source for loans to build or purchase, judges who earn more can also avail themselves of such opportunities, to build and own their own houses.
PoliticsRe: Judges Houses: Under What Law Are We Operating? - Falana by ElevationD: 3:11pm On Jul 17
nairalanda1:
Okay, let me reemphasize the fact that I do not support the government building houses for judges,if you are a judge you can aprroach mortgage banks and other banks like first bank that offer loans for houses that can be paid back. I also understand that if houses are not built for judges, they would end up paying expensive abuja rent, meaning that they would still be susceptible to bribery. Either way it is not a win win situation.

Now, the problem with government building houses for everyone is, that it would cost in the hundreds of trillions of naira to guarantee that every one of those people you mentioned has decent housing. Plus, keep in mind that new graduates in those professions are being produced everyday. Is government going to build houses for each of them?

Then house needs maintenance. My father owns his house, and he has done so for years, and he spends money on maintenance and repairs, because everything that man builds must be maintained and repaired. If government builds house for everyone, how go dey maintain am? Not everyone can maintain houses and repair them.

Shey people go pay taxes so that government can pay for house maintenance? See the problem?

The UK used to build houses for everyone. Na council house dem dey call am. By the 1980's it was costing the UK government too much money to maintain. So, they sold them to the occupiers. People criticise the thing, but for the last 40 years not one single UK government has brought back government house for everyone. Na Nigeria go do am?

We used to build houses for government workers. Obasanjo stopped it for most people in 2004 because it was costing money to maintain. IN some areas self, na the owner dey spend their money to maintain the government house..because no money. And this was way before apchsit government, so nothing to do with tinubu.

The way forward is mortgages. In some working places, workers cooperatives pool money together, buy land for house, and then get the workers to buy a plot and start building while paying back the moni bit by bit. E no easy.

Even now, our housing budget can only build enough houses for a fraction of the population. E no go even reach one eight of the need self.
There can be only one reason why houses are built for judges by politicians. The reason is corruption.

Nigerians must ask about the appropriateness of such acts, seeing that corruption is a very big issue in the country, with judges daily accused of issuing horrible orders or judgements.

We must ask if it is not the business of the National judicial council to carry out such acts as building houses or ensuring the welfare of judges. Housing should be an issue managed by the NJC, in its capacity as the governing body of the judiciary.

Again, building houses for judges questions the financial autonomy of the judiciary. We must ask if the judiciary is truly financially autonomous or reliant on the executive for provision of houses and vehicles.

Youths without shame.

Of all the leaders in this country, you singled out Peter Obi? When Falana made that statement, did he mention a name? Was he wrong to enlighten citizens on the illegality of such spending.

If some of you would allow common sense and a bit more of knowledge, you’d know that the judiciary, legislature and executive are independent and so must operate separate budgets.

If not for the illiteracy among the youths like you, you’d know that it is inappropriate for the executive to build houses for judges, purchase vehicles or any form of gift. That’s why you all watch judges making wrong pronouncements all the time, when you support bribe taking judges. A reputable lawyer, who daily appears before judges, tell you out of experience that it is illegal and you fault his correct comment. Get small shame.

It is very terrifying when you reside in such areas, especially during this season. You can wake up in the middle of the river, as many have experienced.

Bamboos do nothing at a particular level of detachment. You can find an entire 100 - 500 meters detached and completely or hopelessly cut off from the community. Infact in most cases, as is the process of erosion, you find the entire area crushed and crumbled into water, with houses going under.

“ Despite the dramatic appearance, the phenomenon has a scientific explanation. During periods of heavy rainfall and flooding, sections of riverbanks or wetlands can become unstable and break away due to erosion and strong water currents. When this happens, large masses of soil and vegetation remain intact and continue to float downstream, creating the illusion of a moving island”.

Correctly stated.
Large masses of soil break away as one unit, remain together and begin to float.
This happens all the time, particularly in vulnerable areas. Many communities along the bank of river Niger have been either been partly or completely washed away. I know a particular community on the bank of the river in Oshimili South of Delta state that has lost huge chunks of land to erosion and the river. Many of the citizens have long relocated and even what remains of the community is on the verge of collapse and a potential extinction of that community. Infact some comuunities wake up and find themselves in the river.

That calls the question why government has failed to dredge the river and other such that need government intervention. Politics appears to have been the cause of delay why many communities keep suffering. Meanwhile, when it is election time, politicians promise heaven and earth from them, while expecting votes.

This neglect is sad and painful. We are already in another rain season. Many communities will be asked to vacate round about September to avoid flooding and the associated damages.

Many farmers lose their crops and money through such sad loses. Why will government not tackle this issue one and for all? Why is it taking so much years of losses, cries and lamentation for government to dredge river Niger particularly and let the citizens have some peace of mind in their communities?
