If you go to the US and see Chinese community there, you will be surprised that they have millions of Chinese living in the US they even have towns and counties where only the Chinese lives.

You will even find thousands of Chinese citizens in the US Police force.

All of them American citizens, speaking English with American accent. It is extremely rare and difficult for the Chinese to grant citizenship to people of other countries.

I am one of those criticising the coastal road because it is not key infrastructure. It is a contractor led elitist initiative based on some nice looking front garden utopian plan.

Key infrastructure means it is badly needed for socio economic development. Will enhance business and trade and reduce the existing costs to citizens and enterprises. In a regime of escalating uncontrollable costs of fuel, new highways will hardly reduce costs and will certainly not return on investment.

What you see in the picture/video is exactly what we should be doing. And effective integrated rail system to link all state capitals and major industrial hubs to draw down the present cost of cross country transport and haulage.

Invest in rail systems and you will surely return on investment because it is fully integrated. Every penny paid by a passenger or kilogram for goods can be accounted for unlike road where the best you get is tolls fares which hardly scratch the surface of the costs of such infrastructure.

There is no country in the size bracket of Nigeria or with the same economic poise that does not have at its core a functional national rail system. India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Egypt, all of them rely heavily on railways for freight in particular and that is why we simply cannot compete with them in manufacturing and exports when it costs upwards of 3 to 5 million naira to move a semi-truck load of goods from south to north when a single rail car can do that for 500,000.

Have you seen what the massive, unregulated, overloaded semi-trucks are already doing to portions of Abuja - Lokoja concrete highway.... We are just wasting our time and money on strategic transportation errors. China sis not develop this way. The fancy things you see today are out of an established economy. How is it that even the capital of Nigeria cannot boast of rail network traversing the length and breathe of such a city with a massive landmass? Fubara has the choice to run on the platform of another party, particularly NDC, which seems to have started gaining momentum in Rivers state. I do not foresee that happening. However, his name is already on the campaign council list of APC and I believe that in agreeing to step down for the APC candidate, he must have received some assurances from BAT.

Anambra state is basically a trading state and government makes money from taxation. Now there’s no cause to fear anymore, except that the citizens have become very complacent. They must also rise to support government’s efforts to sanitize the state and make it better and safer for everyone.

Expect defections from all parties, not just APC.

Protecting one's votes in this context means having party agents in all the PUs who will ensure that nobody tampers with your votes. LP didn't have party agents in thousands of PUs across Nigeria. INEC announced this before the 2023 election. That's a recipe for failure

I do not think that having party agents at all polling booths solves the problem. It is a fact that in areas where parties have little or no supporters, party agents tend to accept bribes from agents of stronger parties in those locations to look the other way.

INEC labeled a dog a bad name to hang the dog. Not having agents in polling booths was not truly the issue, but corruption.

See, in your own polling booth, if you do not have your party’s agent there, it should not hinder you from voting for your party. Aside from that, you must not accept bribe to vote for another party. If corruption is dealt with, elections will have integrity.

With what we witnessed in this APC primaries, we now have a peep into what to expect. If some party members could manipulate simple counting in that simple Option A4 setting against their fellow party men, then we must be prepared to cast our votes, do not accept bribes, wait to confirm counting, signing papers and uploading before leaving polling booths. That’s one of the ways to make sure that nothing is tampered with. Obi, just like BAT and other candidates cannot be in all areas at the same time.

The sweetest part is that NDC has not held its own primaries. Now with no opportunity to re-defect, permit me to say it that way, they are stranded in APC. No Obi’s name to make them popular or win, they have become ordinary people, with an end to their political careers.

Do not forget that APC has a long list of contestants who lost in 2023 to the greedy members, who rode on the popularity of Peter Obi to secure positions. Now the defectors will remain in APC to either support, or work against the party in 2027.
