Foreign Affairs › Re: Russia, North Korea Sign Mutual Military Deal To Assist Each Other If Attacked by ElevationD: 3:38pm On Jun 19, 2024
God1000:
I understand you, but they are still old friends
Old friend?

Putin was born in 1952, making his age at 72. Kim Nung Un was born either in 1983 or 1984, as his exact birthday was shrouded in mystery. He became the North Korean leader in 2011, making it 13 years.
Their present friendship is simply strategic.

Before now, there have been instances where Russia's actions have been perceived as sabotaging North Korean interests, although the extent of such actions is debated. Some examples include:

1. Voting for UN sanctions: Russia has supported UN Security Council resolutions imposing sanctions on North Korea, which has limited the country's economic opportunities.
2. Limiting economic cooperation: Russia has been cautious in expanding economic ties with North Korea, partly due to international pressure and sanctions.
3. Not supporting North Korea's military actions: Russia has not publicly supported North Korea's military actions, such as missile tests, and has called for restraint.
4. Diplomatic efforts: Russia has engaged in diplomatic efforts to resolve the Korean Peninsula issue, which has sometimes been seen as not fully aligning with North Korea's interests.

It is important to note that Russia's relationship with North Korea is complex, and while there may be instances of perceived sabotage, Russia has also maintained a diplomatic relationship with North Korea and supported its sovereignty.

Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have had a complex relationship over the years, with various interactions and roles played by Putin in relation to Kim Jong Un and North Korea. Some of these roles include:

1. Diplomatic mediator: Putin has attempted to mediate between North Korea and other nations, particularly the United States, to ease tensions and negotiate denuclearization.
2. Economic supporter: Russia has provided economic support to North Korea, including energy supplies and joint development projects.
3. Military cooperation: Russia and North Korea have engaged in military cooperation, including joint exercises and weapons sales.
4. Counterbalance to US influence: Putin has sought to counterbalance US influence in the region by maintaining good relations with North Korea and supporting its sovereignty.
5. International advocate: Putin has advocated for North Korea's interests on the international stage, including opposing harsh sanctions and promoting dialogue.

It's important to note that Putin's roles have evolved over time, and his relationship with Kim Jong Un has been shaped by various geopolitical factors.

However the attempt by Putin and China to reshape international politics, has led Putin to seek more strategic interests with the likes of North Korea, Iran and China.

In the final analysis, they are not old friends, as their political relationship only took off after 2011. Now they move it yo a higher level to counter balance ZUSA/NATO as earlier stated.
Politics › Re: Rivers: Reps Members Urge Fubara To Charge Pro-wike Ex-lga Chairmen With Treason by ElevationD:
The effrontery of the ex local government chairmen is unbelievable. I thought that local government chairmen are usually loyal to the governor. These men showed their absolute contempt for the governor and were willing to go further steps with him in battle.

The youths of the state showed us exactly what it can be like with the citizens are tired of horrible leaders. They took charge and restored normalcy.

For those like this Okocha, who in their figment of imagination thought that the entire state would be engulfed in violence, I say shame on them.

Now those greedy ex local government chairmen and their cohorts who thought that they could turn the constitution on its head, especially Nwanosike, should be confined to the dustbin of political history in the state. Just as his name, Nwanosike, he was not willing to relinquish the position. They were very uncaring and thought that Wike could use unknown powers from Abuja to protect them.

Fubara has turned out to be Mr. Talk and do. I hope that this is a lesson to the so called political godfathers, who plant their stooges to continue looting the resources of their states. Fubara is urged to ensure good governance and accountability in tbe state. At the end of his first tenure, his works must be enough to secure him a second tenure, where the people can have a far greater and better state than he met it.

I say congratulations to the citizens of Rivers state, who showed exactly citizens must fight for their rights. Now they must join hands with the governor to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

At least now there is peace.

The fall out shows the loss of power and political structure by Wike. If not for the Abuja appointment, Wike might have become persona non grata. Fubara is the man of the moment. As is customary with Rivets state, when his tenure ends, he must equally vacate in peace, otherwise the people will make him vacate in pieces!

It was IBB’s wife Mariam Babangida who finally broke them up

The worse part was that kola Abiola was already married

People had been killed for fighting for Abiola’s Mandate

Kola Abiola was acting as if “You are all on your own I no send Una”

That was what even led to Kudirat Abiola stepping up because Kola had failed to fight for

Kola was more interested in Babangida’s daughter becoming his second wife as if she was the only woman on Earth

either you have comprehension issues or you chose to keep deceiving yourself.

I am a benin man and the oba is our father and i am not a son of the palace.

That the oba should correct Akpata in private when Akpata kept making the statement publicly for political reasons is laughable.

This is my last response to you, consider today your lucky day because i barely have time teaching adult what they ought to learn in primary school.
Adieu.
I laugh at you Mr. Teacher?

You failed to respond to the very clear questions about how the Oba relates to his people, out of your ego and arrogance.

What did you expect Akpata to do in the heat of the moment, while visiting your man god and lord? You did not expect him out of his joy, respect and happiness to look at himself as one with his father, the King? If he made the error publicly in the hear of the moment, would it be wrong for the same palace people to attention to it and correct him privately, as a so called illustrious son?

I think you are the one clearly with comprehension and emotion issues, when you could not in simple terms explain to everyone here how the King/citizens relationship works within the Benin society, enabling good decent discussions about traditions not only of the Benin people, but others.

Adieu.

Bitterkola100:
never in my write up did i say the oba cannot call us his children.

Oba is the father of benin land and every sons and daughters of benin kingdom are his children because he is man god and lords over us all.

Except you didn't attend primary school you won't know the difference between "son of the soil" and "son of the palace".
Son of fhe palace is used by those related to the palace by bloodline only.
In other words, you are a commoner in Benin, even as you claim to be a “son of the soil” on the one hand? If the Oba is man god and lords over you, is it safe to say that you are sort of slaves to him and no longer his children on the other hand? Otherwise I cannot understand your contradiction, since I did not attend primary school.

Maybe you write your comments out of unnecessary deep emotions, without reading before posting. Read your initial comment again.

If you say the Oba is your father, is it inappropriate for the Oba to term a commoner like you his son, knowing that you are “a son of the soil”, or a full born Benin son, just like him?

I have heard other first class Kings say their people are all his children, even with such political occasions at hand. I asked the question, just like Akpata’s representative asked: why was such a correction, if necessary, not made in private? If Akpata thought it wise to eulogize the reverred King, why should he be humiliated publicly in that manner?
Politics › Re: Outrage In Benin As Akpata Supporters Abuse Oba For Correcting Him by ElevationD: 6:32pm On Jun 18, 2024
Bitterkola100:
nonsense, in our benin tradition everyone is not a son of the palace.

Nobody claims to be a son of the palace when he's not, being a son of the soil is different from being a son of the palace.
While growing up, only people from ogbe quarters call themselves sons of the palace which is even wrong too.

We all call the oba our father because he is not just an ordinary king but a man god.

You people should stop distorting age long traditions in the name of politics, Olumide was too desperate to show his "beniness" hence his penchant for the appendage "son of the palace" and he was rightly corrected.

That our oba was used to de market Olumide is laughable because it's an accepted fact that even if lp fields an angel its not possible for the party to come second in any guber elections in edo.
“ We all call the oba our father because he is not just an ordinary king but a man god”.

You can call the Oba your father, but the Oba cannot call you his children? Please can you explain this statement of your?
Politics › Re: Outrage In Benin As Akpata Supporters Abuse Oba For Correcting Him by ElevationD:
AreaFada2:
Oba of Benin is not "all Obas". Oba is royal father to all. But you cannot say you are a son of the palace. If you don't understand a culture, ask. If Akpata truly understands the culture, he should know.

If I go to Oba's palace, I can say I am from ancestral palace of my fathers. Once I mention the location, Oba palace officials know where I am from/my family.

Let me give an example. About 12 years back, I travelled thousands of kilometres with family and went to Oba's palace. The kids were so excited and we were taking pictures. Some palace officials came and stopped us. I said I am from so and so place o and the kids are just so excited. One official asked "in that your palace, do people just come and be taking pictures anyhow? I have visited that palace a few times and not seen such". We had even forgotten to ask if pics are allowed. I saw no written warning or probably missed it.

I don't own that palace, but he was asking if in your family palace, if we would allow such. A ducal palace in this case.

I thought it was a bit too high-handed but Boko was newly raging back then. So, I accepted it.
“Oba is royal father to all”.

If someone says I am the royal father, does that not confer the citizens the right to claim that the same Oba is their father?

If the Oba of Benin is not “all Obas”, what then is the difference between him and other Kings, reigning over their own people?

With due respect to the Oba, Mr. Akpata did not by any means infer by his words that the Oba was his biological father. Neither did he in anyway disrespect the King. Such matters should not have gone to the press. The spokesperson from the palace should have called Akpata personally to notify him of an error, if any. He accorded the Oba the dignity and honor due to him. The palace was too quick to denounce him, making it look like something was transpiring politically. Kings are supposed to be impartial in political matters, but as we know in our country, they always have their preferred candidates.

Can we say that Akpata does not know the culture? Certainly someone would guide him or the entourage while visiting the Oba appropriately, telling him the words to say and how to conduct himself before the Oba.

Once I was in the palace of the Oba of Lagos. I had an injury and I was walking with a stick. The palace guards accosted me and asked me if I was a traditional Chief from my area. When I said No, the man insisted that I must not use the walking stick inside the palace, as one without a title. I respected the culture.

I think the Oba’s people over reached themselves. In all, we must not let politics cause so much division among us, no matter where we come from.

Benin is a stronghold for Labour Party.

Their supporters there are vicious and very reactive.

Oba should have ignored Akpata's statement and stayed on the neutral side.

Rather than humiliating him, thereby seemingly behaving like he is against his candidacy.

Furthermore, the Oba is currently at loggerheads with Governor Godwin Obaseki, this one wey people con like, you don dey get beef with am.

E be like say you no dey see wetin dey happen for Kano.

Abeg oooooo
When Akpata said that he was a son of the palace, did he by any way infer that he was a biological son of the king?

All kings refer to their people as sons and daughters. With due respect, the present Oba appears to be mired in a lot of controversies. He words are no longer appearing to be the law, as used to be with his ancestors.

Be reasonable and read widely.

The Russian President has planes dating back to 2005 among his fleet and as latest as 2016. He’s planes are updated and well protected on air when he’s flying. The same goes for the American President. Those are the two most powerful Presidents in the planet.

What will happen if your President’s planes are updated and properly fitted? Or you think that a your APC government is looking for a Gulf Stream on $4m?

BAT promised to cut down on costs and get look at his government with so much wastage. Are you not ashamed of the situation that your APC has put the country into?

Should the first things not be dealing with insecurity and ensuring food sufficiency for the citizens? If all the resources wasted to give your APC leaders luxurious lives are spent fixing those two, would people lament of hunger?
Politics › Re: Omokri Tackles Peter Obi Over His Criticism Of ‘New’ Presidential Jet For Tinubu by ElevationD: 6:26am On Jun 18, 2024
Reno Omokri will keep fooling himself and those he constantly deceives. Anyway it is wothout doubt that Obi’s name puts food on his table.

According to Wike, the contract for the BP’s residence was awarded in 2010 at the cost of 7m and remained uncompleted until he took over. The project was reviewed upwards and included in the supplementary budget Wike presented to NASS in 2023. Who releases the funds after budgets?

Again, while BAT asks citizens to sacrifice, his hovernment spends billions to live very comfortable lives. Without discussing with BAT in the first place, would such a matter have come up in the National Assembly? And when it came up why did BAT not stop it dead on its track, if he wanted to save the country the money?

The truth once again is that Omokri seeks a job with BAT, while abandoning his principal. Rather than stay with his party to play opposition against the APC government, he has turned Obi into the FG and plays the opposition against him.

PDP meanwhile now sees Obi as the candidate to beat in the next election and plans to bring him back into the fold along with Obidients. The mumu will return begging when it is time.

They will be part of the SE with 9 local government areas clearly well defined.
Onitsha and Ogbaru, carved out of Anambra state are to be added to Anioma state. The intention is to make Onitsha the state capital, instead of Asaba. That has always been the plan.

Infact Anioma would have been a state of its own, if not for IBB’s wrong decision to tie Anioma to Niger Delta and making Asaba the capital as a consolation. Rightfully according to Ned Nwoko, the clamour for Anioma state has been there since the administration of IBB.

Most importantly, taking Anioma into the SE would mean taking also the resources in those areas. Anioma has huge deposits of oil and gas. We have seen Agip in Oko areas of Oshimili south, searching for oil. Its an added advantage bringing Anioma into the SE which is the area of the ancestors.
