Professor Mrs Bernadette Adaeze Nwuzor celebrated her 54th birthday today 20th October 2019. Professor Nwuzor is the founder of Indigent Care Foundation, a non governmental organization that have relieved many people especially orphans, widows and physically challenged from poverty. Through this foundation many people have graduated from Universities and other higher institutions. Barr. D. C. Nwuzor, a son to the celebrant and a lecturer in Faculty of Law EBSU commended everyone who made it to the event and said they decided to surprise their mum because she won't approve of such a gingatic party owing to her simple way of life. On her part, her daughter Mrs Chinwe Felicia Okemini also thanked everyone present and said that her mum is an epitome of woman and motherhood and deserved to be celebrated. Many dignitaries honoured the event including Mrs. Chinyere Nwogboga the executive chairman of Ebony LGA, Comr Ben. Nwovu SA to Ebonyi Governor on Security, Comr. Tony Nwizi Chairman NUJ Ebonyi State, Mrs Augustine Nwankwegu wife of EBHA former speaker among others.

Professor Nwuzor celebrates her 54th birthday in grand style By Elijah Nwuzor Chukwunonso @ Elijahnonso1. Abakiliki Professor Mrs Adaeze Bernadette Nwuzor was born on 20th October 1965 in Ebyia Abakaliki LGA and married to Late Justice Lazarus Nwuzor Awoke of Abarigwe Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA. She was a two time council chairman of Ebonyi LGA since 2008-2013. She was also the SSA to the Ebonyi State Governor on Higher Education. Professor Nwuzor was left with her family responsibilities to cater for after her husband ‘s death in 2006. This did not weigh her down. She took up her responsibilities and rose to enviable position. She founded the non governmental organization Indigent Care Foundation with its headquarters at Abarigwe Ishieke Ebonyi LGA A and other branches. The Indegent Care Foundation have relieved many people from abject poverty. Orphans, widows, widowers and physically challenged persons have breathed the breath of live from this organization. Many graduates in the state can credit their success story, how and what made it possible for them to graduate from the University to Indigent Care Foundation courtesy of Prof Adaeze Nwuzor. This year’s birthday celebration was organized as a huge surprise to her by her children, in-laws and well wishers. Their reason being that going by her way of simple life, she wont accept such gigantic party. One of her child Barr. D. C. Nwuzor, a lecturer in Faculty of Law Ebonyi State University said they decided to present the birthday as a surprise to our mum, the mother of the downtrodden because, we know that she won’t accept this kind of big party because of her simple life. The party was attended by so many dignitaries including Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga the executive Chairman of Ebonyi LGA. and some members of the State Executive council, BenLaz Christian family as well as friends and well wishers. The birthday celebration was started with a holy mass officiated by Rev. Fr. James Nwofoke who is also the spiritual director of Indigent Care Foundation. On his part, the Roman Catholic Priest thanked God for the gift of Prof Adaeze Nwuzor and described her as a voice for the voiceless, a husband for the widow, a wife to the widowers , the sight to the blind and indeed a helper. Prof. Nwuzor said she never expected this kind of great event and also said that she is surprised as the event was planned without her knowing. She was overwhelmed how the officiating priest agreed to come and also show the surprise to her. She thanked the priest and everyone present and pray God to add more twenty years to the live of everyone present for the fact that they came. On her part, one of her daughters Mrs Chinwe Felicia Okemini (nee Nwuzor) thanked everyone present and said their mum needed to be celebrated for she is an epitome of motherhood and that she has been her source of inspiration. Many people who graced the occasion noted one or two things they knew this great achiever with. Some of the people who spoke at the event included the chairperson of Ebyia daughters forum, the principal of EBSU Staff Secondary School Mr. Ozibo, the SA to the Governor on Security Comr. Ben Nwovu, Comr. Tony Nwizi, Hon Uchenna Igwe, Chief Boni Ezeagu, Apostle B. Obaji, Mrs Jane Fidelis Nwankwo, Mrs Patricia Nwankwegu wife of former speaker Ebonyi State House of Assembly and many more described Prof Adaeze Nwuzor as a model of woman and motherhood.
