bluebella: Good Morning Special people here. Many thanks to everyone here for the quality of information shared on this platform. I have learnt alot here.
Please I need sound advice and the way forward.
I and my wife(student) arrived in the UK last December, stayed with a family friend for 10 days, got temporary accommodation (1 room) in a three-bedroom flat till the end of February and moved into a one-bedroom. We have already made an arrangement/commitment for a 3-bedroom which will be ready in the middle of May since we plan that the children will join us here in the UK by end of May.
The one-bedroom (fully furnished) we are staying in currently belongs to a Nigerian who stays and works in London and said that it's a council house and he pays 400pounds monthly and council tax 120pounds monthly (he didnt tell us this initially). Before we rented the place he told us verbally that it is 500pounds for the first month and subsequent months rent will be 400pounds and we agreed (we pay electricity ourselves and I have a virgin media broadband, so no bills inclusive). Since its a council house, his name is on the property and he cannot give us any tenancy agreement, moreover is just for three months, we agreed verbally. Now fast-forward, the rent for March to April is due by 8th of March but called me on the 28th of Feb and pleaded if the rent can come early because he wants to travel back to Nigeria for a few days. I credited his account the next day with 400pounds. He called back and said the rent is supposed to be 500pounds and not 400pounds, we argued for a few days and i told him that please let's concentrate on solutions because its now my words against his. He called again that I should add 60pounds to the rent, I told him I don't have that money but I can make provision for the upgraded rent(460 pounds from April). He is insisting that I must give him 60pounds now or tell him when I can give him the 60pounds. I told him I don't have that kind of money and I don't want to owe or give empty promises. Yesterday while I was at work he sent my wife a voice message that we should move out by the 7th of April, that he has told the council that he is moving out by that time (he will move his furniture out) and he will come with the police to make sure we move out(lol) by April 7th.
The challenge now is that the 3-bedroom we have made a commitment for won't be ready till the middle of May. I don't have the energy of looking for short-stay accommodation now.
Please, elders and wise ones, what should I do? For your sanity to avoid all the stress that comes with it as it can also affect your work or study just pay the £60 I know it's better said than done but trust me u won't want that pressure on you again I hope you get sorted |

umarwy: Observations Lane discipline Meeting/joining traffic Cutting corners Not driving too slow.
This are other critical aspects people from naija use to fail as well.
2 guys that has been driving in naija for years and is currently driving in UK, has failed the twice.
Guy failed
first test in less than 10min. Roundabout going right but was on the wrong lane. Them kuku bring am back to test center.
Second test was the funny one. He used the wrong lane to exit the gate of the test center. So he basically failed in less than 5min. Another guy failed the test doing the same thing that day. Laugh one finish me. "If you can drive in Lagos you can drive everywhere"
Guy 2 Driving in UK as well for months and with loads of naija experience.
First test switching lanes without proper observations, there was a van oncoming examiner hold steering.
Second test
He no see red traffic light examiner shout stop.
But the light was immediately after a double roundabout. Plus there was a busstop.
But still. Observations lacking in both tests.
Advice for anyone taking the test look mirrors almost as much as you are looking front.
Safe driving is all what the examiner wants to see.
You can fail because of manover unless it's observations related
Watch dgn driving school on YouTube Watch Ashley Neil.
Try to be calm and you shall pass easy As hilarious as this is it will come handy thanks |

hustla: Left to me, Azure
Its more GUI friendly than AWS and you'll easily understand the concepts better
Me thinks, Azure fundamentals, then AWS CCP (AWS has more market share than Azure but I don't think that'd last for long) I know because I have written > 9 Azure/ M365 certs.
Btw you can get the vouchers for Azure free if you attend their training day lectures.
AWS Ccp and SAA vouchers also free via Amazon's training for women / general exam stuff you can sign up for Thanks alot for the details |

omopapa: 1. Apply for provisional licence https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence (you must have lived legally in the uk for atleast 185days)
2. Buy, download and practice the questions in the Official DVSA Theory Test Kit for £4.99 from AppStore. There are other free versions but I recommend the paid one https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/official-dvsa-theory-test-kit/id463295925
3. Book the theory test for car and motorcycle, costs £23 https://www.gov.uk/book-theory-test you need to get 43 out of 50 questions correctly to pass
4. Book the driving practical test for £75 at https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test
Prior to this, you shld have had atleast 40-45 hours of driving lessons as a new driver or just couple of lessons to brush up ur skills if you have been driving from abroad.
NB: A manual licence lets you drive automatic cars but automatic licence doesn’t let you drive manual.
5. Congratulations you have passed your driving and your provisional licence would be exchanged for a FULL UK license.
Jara: Next step is to search for suitable insurance policy here confused.com Well detailed |

tushqueen: I tell you, I was at the mall after work yesterday, the shelves were dry, major food all gone.
E be like like say make I give 1 silly guy slap yesterday, I got to the bus stop to discover my bus card had disappeared. So I left my shopping bags at the bus stop to have a quick check at the mall. My mind was telling me abi make I no leave am whether somebody go steal am. Na im I say, nobody go carry am na shebi dem say camera dey everywhere. I ran in and came out to see one guy putting my bags away in his boot. I ran up to ask him what he was doing. He said oh sorry I'm in a phone call with the food bank and I thought someone wanted to give these away.
I was like how do you mean, if I wanted to have a give away I would have given the food bank a ring myself. He said sorry, dashed into his car, made a U-turn and left. If he really wanted to be kind, why would he not gibe me a ride when he discovered that my card had disappeared. Iranu
My mind was just imagining different things, like he probably wasn't calling any food bank. Or imagine if places were switched as in a black man putting a white's stuff in his boot.
Has anyone else experienced this? Na thief |

IvanCardozo: Just to buy normal needed stuffs, 2 months student accommodation, and transport here and there.
No exorbitant/lavish spendings. Just daily needs and 2months student rent.
Location: Sunderland This is more than enough here If u cook sef go to Aldi on marks road and Hutchinson in Chester road close to royal hospital you won't spend more than 100 on food weekly Rent is fair too but depends on taste but you can get ensuite for max 420 better manageable one Cheers |

Aphrodite007: Any form of education especially in tech is worth it. You’re not after the certificate but the tech knowledge to get a tech job. So it being online doesn’t matter, if anything it means you can do it conveniently while working on your T2.

beryour: It is not illegal for you to study in the UK on a Tier 2 visa, being completely online does not matter one bit.
I would say it is better off focusing on specialist courses instead of a general computer science, courses in Data, CyberSec, Full Stack, etc will benefit you more.
Also, take note that if he is studying in a Uni, then his fee will be much different from yours and lastly do not be moved by what someone brags about. Find your own passion and route. Odabo Thanks alot for this I appreciate |
