Codedrock:You really believe that this guy possesses an MBBS degree from a Nigerian university, and a license to practice Medicine from the Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria? Any body can OWN a hospital, by the way. It's being done in Lagos and Onitsha and it's actually the privatisation of health facilities people have been clamouring for. As long as it is being managed by a doctor (which is what he said he was doing in 2011, before he decided he wanted to do what the doctor was doing and probably cut costs). Hospitals are afterall, businesses. If you believe that my concern that an unlicensed kid is practising Medicine unchallenged, is negativity, then there is truly no hope. |
Wow. The two posters above, praising somebody who is practising medicine without a license, who is probably harming more people than he "miraculously" helps, who is preying on the ignorance of Nigerian patients with such impunity, and even getting financial gains and awards (definitely not from any recognised professional body), you two make me weep for Nigeria. And can I just say, in my experience, a "gynaecology specialist" with only WASSC as a qualification, loosely translates as an abortionist, quote me if you like. Well, I don't blame him. I blame the failed government who have refused to pay attention to the health sector. I blame the health professionals (NMA, JOHESU, all of them) for letting greed lead them to neglect their patients ever so often, thus driving them to these charlatans. Lastly, I blame the patients and their families, gullible to the point of placing your life in the hands of a 21 year old semi-illiterate, when even 50 year old professors make mistakes with their decades of experience. If this were a country where things worked, a squad of health authorities and armed forces would be raiding this guy's office right away. If things are this bad with a PhD holder in power, I'm scared to imagine what will happen under "The Other Guy". |
That a country as heterogeneous as Nigeria can remain together after 100 years, is a testimony to African delusionism, and the perseverance born of a foolish hope that all will be well. |
Bad political move for Jonathan, even if it's the right thing to do. Johesu timed it well, that the third month of the strike would be in the heat of campaigns. Now Buhari propagandists have butter for their bread...or is it yaji for their suya? ![]() |
Thanks a lot Laird. |
^^^Thanks guys. Australia does sound like a good place. Kindly give a few more details. Are you currently living/working there? How did u go about it? How much did it cost u? What exam(s) did u write and how easy(pass rate) were they? I hope it's not too much too ask... |
It's no secret that medical practice is becoming less and less worthwhile in Nigeria and the health sector is currently on a nosedive. Practitioners are leaving the shores of the country in droves, and sooner or later, I intend to, too (judge me later). Now I have heard of cases where doctors travel abroad to seek jobs in their field but end up as cab drivers or hospital orderlies. so I decided to get all the information I need so as not to run into any frustration, what with my limited funds and all. So the question is: which country would be the wisest choice for a Nigerian-trained doctor, taking into consideration: - ease and cost of obtaining a work visa - ease and cost of getting a practicing license, exams and all - ease of GETTING a job - ease of settling into the country and job. - financial fulfillment and job security.(Cuz Nigeria can't be THE worst, right?) - etc Note that it doesn't even have to be a Western country; I heard some African countries have excellent healthcare systems. any valid, candid, relevant opinion will be highly appreciated. |
Geez....guess I should move this thread to celebrity or politics section. |
Thanks Laird, I'd love more details. Probably from ur experience... |
Thanks bro. Unfortunately, it seems all the foreign-based doctors on NL aren't. Maybe because this isn't abt JOHESU vs. NMA war. |

I'm just here to get likes, and then go back to France. |
Seun:This is my first time quoting Seun. Do I get some kinda reward? if yes please mail it to my School in Frankfurt .*modified* if I don't get 100 likes, I'll never quote Seun again |
The annoying thing about celebrities is that they can choose when to be mad and when to be sane, as ppl will always applaud them either way. #prayforcharlieboy |
Seriously wondering why I didn't go to Pastoral college. These guys ball hard no be small!!! Mods, carry this thing to front page. Or else I'll come all the way from France to break ur heads. |

LordMecuzy:Forget that thing o bros. Here where I'm serving, healthcare in government hospitals is free, and private hospitals are cheap. These quacks charge double what the private hospitals charge. Yet these illiterate yoruba ppl gladly rush to the quacks instead of a qualified doctor. It's quite baffling. I suspect some jazz involved, because stupidity alone doesn't cover it. |
fr3do:The pictures above, are they pictures of Solange sneezing? Huh, "NEGRO"? |
Medunah:Chai, these hoes ain't honest at all at all. Anyway back to the topic. The answer is a BIG FAT N-O!!! I'd rather wait for marriage. But what's done is done. |
fr3do:They exist bro. Just not to things like eggs and nuts. I've live all my life in Naija, and I'm allergic to cobwebs. Yes cobwebs ![]() |
A few things I've come to learn about nairaland: 1. Lalasticlala's topics, mainly dumb celebrity lists and countdowns, always make front page. I dunno whether she sleeps with Seun or she's lesbiann partners with ijebabe, or na only she waka come... 2. Within a couple hours of a male-oriented post making front page, its female counterpart will definitely surface 3.Any comment that's not in page zero (why is there a page zero ? ) Doesn't get up to 100 likes.Except this my own. ![]() |
Where dat rasqie dey sef? After Ruggedman flog am with cane, nobody heard from the dud again. |
udysweet:Get a room, u two!!! |
It sounds like a good idea, until NLers from the politics section start a riot from an APC/PDP argument. Until JOHESU NLers realise they've been insulting a professor of neurosurgery for the past 6 months. Until some NL scam artists come and get meet their previous "magas" face to face. Now wouldn't THAT be something. I say, faceless forum now, faceless forum ever!!! |
lanxebony:Chai, this one no even hide him own hatred for doctors, because he didn't get medicine. Take am easy bros. Go and become a consultant and flex wella. |

if yes please mail it to my School in Frankfurt
