Exactly how will being NLC president help JOHESU to intimidate doctors? Cuz that's what this is all about isn't it? Fight for supremacy? Nigerians are so petty. And I'm talking about ALL Nigerians. |

zeezahbee: I won't get to a quack because I was even the one that produced the drug, you grab that ? so I don't need to consult a doctor to give me doses, virtually most drugs in Nigeria are OTC and they are suppose to be PO , just the few expensive and less popular ones are kEpt Well it's a talk for another day. Lol. Let's hope you're not unconscious then. Or on the operation table at the mercy of the anaesthetist. Can I hear u say God forbid? |

Come and flog me make I see. I pray u don't land into the hands of a "confident quack" who will confidently give u an overdose, like 125mg of digoxin instead of emmm...emmm...I dey come make I go check my book. |
Health › Re: Sad Picture Of Maternity Ward In Igun Hospital In Osun State by elobyobi: 10:37am On Feb 10, 2015 |
I "served" (hehehe #batchA14 #goodtogo ) in a State Hospital in Osun state, and I can attest to what is being said here. 1. Various State Hospitals, including my PPA, were earmarked for "renovation" in July 2013. The gov said they would be refurbished in 3 months. Then they demolished almost all the structures. And left them like that! Till now!!! D thing favour me sha, no too much work, so I had time on my hands, which I put to good use 2. The government fronts a charade called "free health services", claiming to give free drugs and stuff. What they really do is give 1 tablet when the doctor prescribes maybe 2 a day for a week. And of course there's the issue of healthy people coming with feigned sicknesses just to collect free medicines. And if u just mention "go outside and buy..." to a patient, he'll go ballistic on you, saying Aregbe told them it's free health, even accusing u of hoarding the drugs. Tomorrow, if WHO talks about drug resistance... 3. The most painful part is the fact that these people fail to see beyond the lies. It's like they're under some kinda spell. even the health workers who haven't been paid for months and who are forced to work under these deplorable conditions, still go "Aregbe is trying". I'm like WHATTHEFUCK!!! Can't wait for 19th February. Ipinle Osun ti re mi. (Osun State don taya me...hope I said it well ) |
Health › Re: What Causes The Swelling Of The Eyes After Eating Rice Late In The Night? by elobyobi: 5:29am On Feb 10, 2015 |
You might be allergic to some chemicals in the rice. And by the way, if rice causes ur eyes to swell, why do you continue eating it? (na wa for Nigerians sef!) Secondly (and this is more sinister, I'm afraid) you might have some kind of kidney pathology going on. Pretty much still in the early stages of course. For that you'd need to see a doctor, run some tests and stuff. And then there's always google! |

Jeflox: INDEED I HAVE BEEN WONDERING WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY NIGERIA IS. EVERYTHING IS JUST MOVING DISORDERLY WITH NOBODY DIRECTING THEM TO MOVE ARIGHT. TALKING ABOUT OUR HEALTH SECTOR....POLITICS HAVE EATEN DEEP INTO HEALTH SECTOR THAT THE EFFECT IS VERY MUCH TELLING ON THE POOR PATIENTS IN ALL NIGERIAN HOSPITALS. WHAT ARE THESE POLITICS GOING ON ALWAYS BETWEEN DOCTORS AND OTHER HEALTH WORKERS ESPECIALLY MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTISTS. THOUGH AM A BARRISTER BUT I REMEMBERED VIVIDLY WHEN THE FIGHT WAS BETWEEN DOCTORS AND PHARMACISTS, DOCTORS AND NURSES, DOCTORS AND RADIOGRAPHERS, DOCTORS AND PHYSIOTHERAPISTS, NOW IT'S DOCTORS AND MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTISTS. WHY CAN'T ACTUALLY NIGERIAN DOCTORS FACE THEIR WORK WITHOUT THIS THEIR CONSTANT FIGHT WITH OTHER HEALTH WORKERS. THE TRUTH SHOULD BE TOLD PLS, WHAT ARE THE PATHOLOGISTS CLAIMING THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT LABORATORY ANALYSIS THAN THE MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTIST THAT JUST SPENT 5YEARS +1 READING ONLY THE COURSE AND U THAT MIGHT HAVE DONE IT AS A CRASH PROGRAM FOR PROBABLY ONE YEAR WANT TO GO AND HEAD THEM. SINCE I HAVE KNOWN DOCTORS.....IT'S BEEN ALL ABOUT HEADING THIS PEOPLE AND HEADING THAT PEOPLE. I SEE POMPOSITY IN OUR NIGERIAN DOCTORS WHEN MANY OF THEM ACTUALLY NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL....HAVE MET ONE DIAGNOSING ME LOOKING AT TEXTBOOK. I AM DIRECTLY TALKING TO OUR NIGERIAN DOCTORS .....REDUCE UR EGO, I THINK THAT IS UR PROBLEM. SINCE U HAVE UR DEPARTMENT, PLS HEAD IT AND LEAVE OTHER HEALTH WORKERS TO DO THEIR JOB PLZ. THE MAIN CHAIN OF HOSPITAL CONSULTATION SHOULD WORK IN HARMONY: DOCTOR - NURSE- PHARMACIST- MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTIST. THE FIGHT BETWEEN THE PATHOLOGIST AND MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTIST MAKES IT LOOK AS IF PATHOLOGISTS ARE CONFUSED ABOUT THEIR JOB DISCRIPTION.....BCOZ I CANT IMAGINE WHY A PATHOLOGIST IS TRYING TO RUN A TEST HE HAS NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT. IF THEY ARE PAYING A DOCTOR, 400K, LET THEM PAY A MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTIST 300K, SINCE THE MONEY IS NOT COMING FROM ANY OF U BUT IT'S OUR NAIJA MONEY. BOTH GROUPS ARE TRYING. I believe someone who is willing to consult a textbook before making a diagnosis is more concerned about your welfare than his ego. Learn to appreciate people's sacrifices and humility; you'll live longer. If him no look book now, come give u headache merecine for gono u go start to dey complain. Nigerians can be insatiable sometimes!!! |

Your best bet is a post NYSC doctor. Because unless it's a locum, you won't get a doctor who has successfully maintained a job in Abuja for 5 years to leave his job. So if one can be convinced that this is not a scam, one can arrange a meet between you and a couple of doctors who just finished serving in Abuja. |

Funfreak: That is the problem most Nigerians are having.. "discrimination" which is absolutely bad.. at least this young boy is doing something helping others and non of his patients have sued him or something don't we have many medical doctors out there that do not do their job perfectly that patients often die in their care? .. According to the interview I even learnt the boy has a foundation for helping people. And i am not sure you guys have contributed much at helping others.. People like you guys are the ones who has nothing to contribute to the development of the nation but condemn I hope all changes whenever change comes in Febuhari... If this is the kind of change Buhari is planning to bring, where children with school cert are given "licenses" to practice medicine and open up pregnant women's wombs and all whatnot, then I pray none of my family is in the country come May 29. |
Celebrities › Re: Breaking News: Whitney Houston's Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown Is Dead by elobyobi: 7:12am On Feb 02, 2015 |
When someone is "brain dead", they're actually legally dead. Thanks to technology, their bodily functions- respiration, circulation etc - can be sustained for as long as it takes the family and society to come to terms with the fact that they're not coming back. And then you just pull the plug.
Not saying it's true about the babe sha. |
