Foreign AffairsRe: Two Bad Options For Iran by ElRazur: 9:10am On Mar 10, 2010
Israel have a point.  No one have been indefiance of the UN and the atomic community more since Saddam.

In some ways, this is putting pressure indirectly on Iran so as to make them comply. I suppose Iran will worry about the security threats from outside and will constantly look over her shoulder.

On the other hand, the lack of support from China and Russia is larely motivated by Politics - need to be see as playing on the world stage and partly due to trade. All in my opinion off course.
Music/RadioRe: Our Music Is Dying Slowly, And Still Smiling by ElRazur: 8:58am On Mar 10, 2010
I just scanned read the article - not pleasant to the eyes with the manner it was posted.

Yeah there are some points there. One that caught my eye was the one about wande coal or something. Ideally, not every Artist know how to play an instrument, hence why there is a difference between an Artist and a musician.

Also, most of the music today are probably not different from what we listened to growing up - this may sound hypocritical of me but hear me out. The music the young one [gosh am young myself but I listen to old schools a lot] of today like is detested by the people born in the 80s and 70s and so is the music loved by these generation hated by those from the 30s and 40s. Music is forever changing and it will continue to be so.

Oh it may also be worth adding that the various advancement in music synthesis on the pc makes music making more available to a wider audience and as such, expect to see more and more artist who probably do not know how to read music or play an instrument.

Finally, on the issue of longevity. I think, we now live in a world where everything have to be fast. Fast car, fast food, fast computers, fast social development etc. I suppose the notion of longevity may not be something that bothers most any more, perhaps it is more a case of 15mins of fame now?

I am not promoting any racist view point. Just asking a question. Do you have any contribution to make?

ok, lets assume the Japanese politician was wrong and that fires from the plane did bring down the twin towers. However how do you explain what happened to building 7(WTC 7) considering the fact it wasnt hit by a plane or even fire but collapsed just like the twin towers. How do you explain that?
Your inablity to read and comprehend is your problem. TayoD already asked you to read around and know the meaning of freefall and its application in the context you are using I wonder if you ever did. undecided

If you can use google to get anti-western news, you can use it to find real facts on the matter too. Here is just a simple way:

Open google

In Google, type in "911 debunked" "facts of 911"

Press enter

Read the various link provided/look at photograhps.

Alternatively, if you find reading too much information can be difficult to absorb, use the same steps described above but in YOUTUBE.

That should keep you busy for a long time. smiley

That thread deserved to be locked. If these people have done anything wrong, let them be challenged in court. What that thread is, is nothing but allegations [and unproven one in some case] and the people in question can sue Nairaland owner or have this place shut down for defamation etc.

The MOD made a right decision this time. smiley

What he is not realising is that eventually, all his threads will be empty or lacking content as people realise his motives etc. Sucks really.

I am guessing he will eventually die off like Doctor Who and then reincarnate as another poster. Sucks really.  Gosh, he post these threads and it is not like he's got a proper or solid contribution to make. I really do not understand him/her.

I have to agree they stole or copied features of MPC and other notable groove boxes, but then this is how innovation happens lol. grin

Yeah I agree man, it is all about making music. Please post more of stuff you've done. You can create a thread like I did and get feed back. smiley

One of the reason I find sampling intresting is this track here. Please watch it. Listen to how the sound makes no sense in the first few seconds, but then it all gels together.

That was a classic MPC isnt? Probably a 2500xl or something.

sampling is cool and shows artistry, though some composers would tell you it is rubbish. It makes you feel the aesthetics of music as an artform. To get into sampling, you need to listen to old artist, and check out producers' like Damu, Wajeed, Pete Rock, 9th WOnder, J DIlla, DJ PRemier, and a whole lots more, I must tell you this, If you don't feel Deep hip hop, you might find it hard to love sampling,

About Equipments. Though Equipment plays a very good role in music making, but good music don't rely on equipments. There are so many equipments for sampling but so far, MPC takes the number 1 spot. NI maschine is cool but mehn nuthing makes it grimey like an MPC 500, 1000, 2000XL, 4000/ MPD/ MPK and all that. Alternatively, you can connect your Juno G to FL Studio's FPC (A simulation of MPC by Imageline) and trigger your samples from there.

there's much to say my brother.
I am aware of sampling and those who have made a name from it. smiley Pete rock is one of those that blows me away when I watch him work on weird sounding sounds, but yet manages to make some hot joint out of it.

I am not about to ignite a debate of MPC V NI Maschine, but from what I have seen and what I have owned [used to own a 2000xl and 1000] I will take a Maschine over an MPC all day. Maschine is less than two years old, yet it can do almost if not everything an establish platform like the MPC can and cost less.

I am aware of the FPC on friuity loops too, I am not just sure how it the Juno works with the FPC - Unless off course one is using it as a Midi Controller.

Glad to see more and more people coming out of the wood work. Oh the link you posted is not working - "Problem loading page" - please have a look again, it may need fixing perhaps?

@ El Razor
I'm sure you've got a genre you like and that's definitely the kind of music you will produce, take extra ordinary listen to some of the edge cutting instrumentals and take cues from them,
Hey, thanks for your comments, it is appreciated.

I like the idea of sampling and will get more into it once I get the NI maschine. It can be done on the Juno, but it is cumbersome - had to contact the technical support section of Roland lol.

What programs/Hardware do you do for you sampling? Oh by the way, I shy away from stuck sound and tend to tune them a bit and the drums I always makes sure I layer here and there so as to give a different sound than the on-board ones.

Check this out from the article: The last paragraph.

The truth was that Farouq was drugged to loss his consciousness so that the conspirators would do their evil ‘job’ without difficulty. How can you implicate a person in the crime he have never do it while in his consciousness? You must deprive him of his sense of reasoning and clarity of thought. And this is what America exactly did.
I thought it was more a case of the elements of Islam brain-washing him up to the point he carried out their "Islamic Jihad" against interest of America and america? No? Lmao.

I haven't listened to your other beats but I took d time to download and listen to dis beat cos of the comments. My opinion is that OverwackneSS is worrying dis beat. Dis no be hip-hop beat at all. Am tempted to tell u to quit that you ain't got it but I'd give u d benefit of d doubt and assume it's just a bad day in the office. Pls provide d links to your other beats on dis thread.

Your original post started with "I have always wanted to yab. . . . " or something along those lines. Again, I have no problem with your criticism. Yes the beat is weak, but for the second time criticise me on the basis of my beat, not on the basis you have been waiting for me. That is some premeditated approach jare. grin

Please feel free to keep your comments coming. Only with people like you that I get better.

Lol. . .Elenu razor na my guy. . .the guy get big mouth and too like to dey criticize other musicians/artistes like sey dem no sabi, that na why I don dey wait for im own f.cuck up since. . .Anyway, me just dey play with am but jokes apart this beat no be am at all. . .there is nothing HIP or HOP about the beat. . .the last beat was easily discernible and even a DEAF man would know it was an 'Afrobeat' beat. . .this one is just a mix of different sounds without any distinguishable pattern or arrangement and the end result is NOISE (sound that is unpleasant to the ear). Despite my eagerness to criticize him, I gave him props for his first 3 beats and I was even 'WOWED' by the 'afrobeat' beat so my criticism is objective IMO. Even on this beat, I still gave him props for his VERY CLEAR vocals which was 'sitting on top' of the beat and not in the background like the previous beats. . .I no go lie, the only vocals that can be laced on this beat that will flow are the words of the woman who hawks plantain past my street every morning shouting 'ologede re o' . . .Even by your own review &score (35%), im fail na. . .no dey attribute am to beginner's anything o. . .someone who can produce that 'afrobeat' beat  that got me moving my feet and bobbing my head shouldn't assail my ears with this NONSENSE. . .abeg, enuff noise dey Lagos already.

Anyway, from the general comments/reply on this thread, the beat no be am.
Seriously, is that the best you have? huh

I have no problem with your criticism, but you keep missing a point. I will criticise anyone that presents a wack beat/song/whatever for commercial reason.  I am of the belief that the consumer deserves more and besides, there are already filth on the streets. Let's no encourage more of it by been unreal to those who post stuff up in here - Consumer products.

As for my beat, I can put my hands up and say yes it is weak. I played it back several times and while I see that the mix down is okay, the beat is very weak. It takes nothing away from me, as you said, I can do better. The difference between me and those who post stuff like this here - or at least the people I criticise - is that I make mine as a hobby and never intended for commercial purposes.  So if you are trying to link my harsh criticism of others to what I do, you are missing the point.

Even Krayola told me it was "too simple" way before anyone posted comment on it. I had the chance to remove it, but then I am not a pretender or the one shy away from criticism.

Please get real, trying to criticise from a point of view of "elrazur get mouth" is just silly. Criticise me for the beats I make - which I admit is weak this time - and not because of my view. Only someone who is weak-minded will have such approach.

@The rest of the proper critics.

To all those who expected more. Apologies jare. I am back in the lab cooking up some joint. Besides, in a every sequel, there is always a weak one. Just ask any director. grin
