Lol time and dedication is my problem I think. It's been god knows how many years since I've been doing this but it is always been on and off. Lately, I am going back to university for a second degree and as such I have a bit of time lately.

I had more expensive gears before, but my flat got burnt down and as a result, lost it all. E pain me sha as I dint have home insurance lol.

My stuff are nothing, I know people who have 10k worth of stuff. Lol.

With the level am in, I just don't have a big enough ego to call myself a pro lol.

You are right though, it ain't about what gears one have but how good one is. A guy on YouTube have two or three gears and they cost close to 10k and the beat he made was so wack that someone made a comment that if they know where he lives, they will punch him in the face and steal his stuff lol. His beat was that whack. He had A Roland G7, akai mpc 2500 and another stuff. Those are some expensive stuff lol.

You laptop must be very powerful to run flstudio well. I tried running it on mine, but too much delay even with the buffer increased.
Music/RadioPost Your Studio Or Tell Us About It! by ElRazur(op): 12:31pm On Mar 01, 2010
This was done a forum I use, so I thought we can pull off the same thing here.  Just list the stuff you have step-up in your "studio" from your DAW, down to PC etc.

Here is mine.

A Juno G.
Behringer MS 16 Monitors
Dual core AMD based pc
M-Audio 24/96 sound card
AKG 219 studio mic
Fico UDM-326 [Cheap mic lol]
UMX61 XU control - Midi Keyboard by Behringer
Phonic 802 - Mixer

Software:
Audacity - Freeware
FL9 - DAW
Ableton Live 8
Sony Sound forge
Reaper - Daw.

Lately I do everything on the Juno as it just feels like a studio in the box and not much switching.

When I'm on the pc, I use Ableton live alot. It is very easy and straightforward. If am using samples, I tend to make changes to this in Soundforge or Audacity.

Reaper is meant to be good, but I haven't used it yet.

It appear I am more of hardware person and as such, I feel more comfortable using hardware, than just clicking here and there on a computer screen to make beats. Also, music production become visual [instead of listening] when using pc. With hardware, you are just left with your ears, hands and less wandering of the eye on a screen.

I should be doing some upgrade soon - For example, I need a groove machine like an Akai mpc or NI Maschine [I am learning at getting the macshine instead though] Oh I can do with new computer screen too lol.

I added the last image as Someone who shall remain nameless thinks I do not have some of the stuff I posted. This person know themselves. grin

https://img46.imageshack.us/img46/4779/imgp4085s.jpg

I think the Mic was made in Russia and it turned out to have the same quality as more expensive mics. I guess I was lucky when I bought it. grin I am not sure if they still make them though.

Anyway, what stuff do you use. I am guessing most folks will be PC based with fruityloops? smiley

tpiah:
hmmm- not bad. wink

It sounds rather like Fela's beat

are you going to flesh it out and add more vocals or is the current version the finished one?
Very good observation. It is an influence from him.

I will add more vocals, but as it stand at the moment, I am just seeing what I can do beat wise. Lyrically and vocally, I think say I dey okay. Beat wise, I never reach there lol.

What you are listening to is just a taster, there is always room for improvement.

Music/RadioRe: Do You Think This Guy Is Talented Or One Those Who Should Just Trade Elsewhere? by ElRazur: 11:23pm On Feb 28, 2010
The first one is very good. Until he changed the tempo.

He's done something I crave for  and I thought is very good - He's got very good ranges with his vocals. Something that is lacking in our artist and good to see no auto tune poo on his vocals.

The girls in the videos are trying too hard, but then that is just me. The one playing the keyboard is not even convincing anyone. lol.

If you are investing, I think it is a good investment - whether or not he will make it is another story. He's got good voice and with good range. It may be worth knowing that his Yoruba is "deep" when compared to what we here from our artist.

Finally, I wont keep that goatie if I was him, or at least keep it trim.

How you take know say he realise? lmao.

Their sense of smell is powerful than that of human and as such would have picked up the scent from miles away. I am sure it most likely wanted to attack, but did not finish for whatever reason. grin

I bolded prey so you an explain to me how the killer whales perceive humans as prey.

what's the meaning of prey?

do you have any evidence showing killer whales normally hunt people?

I believe in most instances the opposite is the case- they actually help humans.

The fact of the matter is if a 12,000 pound orca is having a bad day and grabs someone, the person is likely to end up dead. That doesnt make the victim prey.

no pun or rhyme intended
Prey is synonymous to Victim.

Do humans live continuously in water? If they do, I guess it is not far-fetched to say they will attack humans and make humans their prey. grin

I know you like Orcas, but Jeez, my perception of them as a killer is not about to change. grin

PS
Do you like my new beats? Check out the music section - Dedicated to all pretty ladies [unless off course you aint pretty lol]

It may not make them a prey in the context you are trying to suggest, but it makes them a victim.

Your argument is flawed because you suggested that they could perceive humans as prey, and try to buttress that position by claiming an apex predator will kill anything if necessary. The ability to kill anything, including humans, if necessary is not a consequence of being an apex predator (a white shark is not an apex predator and wouldn't need much provocation to kill a human, while the catfish is an apex predator and couldnt kill a human even if it wanted to), and I have seen no evidence of Orcas perceiving humans as prey (food). Them being an apex predator is irrelevant and you stop trying to use to justify your position.
You really are not getting it. What is to stop it from killing? Nothing.

Again your presentation here is off the mark, this is about an Orca - Get it? An orca.

An apex predator naturally have no biological predator and as such, part of it biological behaviour, it will be exhibiting no fear to any perceived prey. Simple basic biology, but then I guess this is not your strong point. If you have proof other wise that Orca wont and haven't attacked humans pleae provide, oh wait, it attacked one hence why this thread is opened.
As to your claim to the Orca attacking the victim, the Orca drowned the victim and there were no bites. Its presumptuous to say categorically that it attacked (which implies an intent to harm), when it could have felt it was playing with the victim when the unfortunate woman drowned and died. A former head trainer at Seaworld alluded that the Orca might have been intrigued by the woman's ponytail which had seem to draw its attention, and by which it pulled the woman into the pool. The victim wasn't swimming with the Orca, it pulled her in to the pool. The ex-head trainer said the swinging ponytail was likely a violation of protocol.
Yawn. Are you seriously kidding me? If drowning is not "attacking" here then what it is? To further highlight you flaw you used the word "victim" What a joke. Please know when not to prolong matters. Here, see definition here: Taken from http://www.google.co.uk/dictionary?aq=f&langpair=en|en&hl=en&q=victim

Since when did you become an expert on Orca, that you are giving a view on what an orca may feel or may not feel. As for pulling her or swimming with her, it is irrelevant at this point. The fact is she is dead as a result of the action of an Orca - An apex predator.

Do not make sweeping categorization of orcas as if they are some human predators.
Orca are killers, I stand by my point on the basis of what we know about them and on the basis of the incident here.

BTW please keep your sexual orientation, fantasies, and/or perversions out of the discussion.
grin Get off me then. I wasn't keen on exchanging ideas with you intellectually tonight, but no you gotta bring out the ElRazur in me. Now it won't go away. Hope you are happy now. grin

Krayola.

Thanks man. I appreciate the link.

Isn't ironic at least. People at home want to make foreign beats, while folks over here just want to do something that reminds them of home. Haha. Human nature I think lol.

I will have a go at the mix down and will upload at some point. Thanks.
Music/RadioRe: Another Beat from ElRazur - Part 3 ***free Download*** by ElRazur(op): 8:08pm On Feb 28, 2010
I didnt even mix this one lol. I just wanted to put it out here, but yeah mix down is not my strong point.

I am reading round it though. I know drums are meant to be L/R with the bass in the middle and Hi hats placed either left or right depending on which type - closed or open etc.

Will put that in mind - In fact, I may try and mix it down and get it right.

A video will do some help please.

Foreign AffairsRe: Very Sad Event At Seaworld by ElRazur: 7:53pm On Feb 28, 2010
biina:
You use the word 'killer' as if it implies human killers i.e. they feed on humans. Nobody is disputing their ability to kill, but you make it sound like if given an opportunity, they would feed on humans. Orcas are dolphins not whales, and the term 'killer whale' came from 'whale killers' as they feed on whales. I havent heard any account of them preying on humans.

Your argument of being an apex predator is wrong, as the classification depends on other factors like habitat and defensive abilities. The electric catfish is also classified as an apex predator. Does that make them human killers too?
You seem not to understand my view point and it sucks that you aren't really adding anything we do not know already here.

It is your problem you think that I am implying it as such, not mine.

Again let me make my point again. It is a top natural predator and as such will attack humans if necessary - this was evident in the incident itself.  To rule out the possibility of it attacking a human is just silly.

There is nothing new you are saying here that Tpia hasn'r already mentioned. In the context I am using an Apex predator is that this 5 ton killer have nothing to worry about if and when it decides to attack a human.

If you are not disputing their ability to kill, what is your problem? Bored tonight? So you suggested they won't attack humans yet the very reason this thread was opened was because one actually attacked a human and the same one have been linked to a few human death in the past. Seriously, what is your point?

For crying out loud, how can my argument be flawed when the main focus here is an Orca who so happened to be an Apex predator. No? Seriously, I think my post give you a [i]stiffy [/i]sometimes.
Music/RadioRe: Another Beat from ElRazur - Part 3 ***free Download*** by ElRazur(op): 7:45pm On Feb 28, 2010
It won't be applicable in my case. I am using a workstation and, not something I can download stuff from the web on.

The 9.99 mic I bought actually works, but I was too lazy to re-record the first vocals. As you can see, it works on the second and outro.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I have stated that whether they get it from humans or not, it do not change the fact that they are killers. Jeez. You know, an Apex predator will kill anything if necessary.

I had to go and read up on "Music theory" last night lol. I have heard people making reference to it, but gosh I have no idea what it means. But if one is making beats, it can help a lot. It deals with arrangement, rhythm etc. It is a lot to take in, but it makes sense.
