DD brown:If by bringing people down, you mean I challenge a few thick headed people. Then yeah, I bring people down. Gosh. ![]() Funny enough, you appear to missed some of the other things I posted. ![]() |
Erm. . . No one is forcing anything on anyone. However, bringing Jesus into this sort of thread is wholly unnecessary. |
I would be happy to see a more balanced approach towards religion with the creation of an ATR section. I am more than happy to be a regular contributor, and am sure there are a few people who will come out of the wood work. The cultural section is just what it is, cultural section. And as such have no bearing on religion in my opinion. |
Why do I get the feeling Oga Debo have dabbled with a few Creams and experimented with all sorts? Kai. Alhaji Debosky Omo Yoyo.On a serious note, the manipulation is something I personally just disagree with. The problem also is that it is counter productive like some people have pointed out already - One have to keep using them as the body produces more melanin to counter the effect. Hence why people look noticeably different once they stop using them. |
grafikdon:Precisley oga. Yet it is not uncommon to hear pastor preach against other religion or refer to them as Pagans. Yet you hear Muslims banging on about banging on about how peacful they are, when in actual fact they are as violent and aggressive as a scorpion. It is well known that the Quran [the perfect book of god] calls for the killing of Homosexuals and Jews. ![]() All these main stream religion practised back home sucks in my opinion. |
grafikdon:Thank you o Oga. To put your point into perspective, how many "Religion riot" as a result of ATR have happened compared to those between Christian and Muslims back home? |
If we have to follow the rule of science, no online game should work in Nigeria, apart from "Turn based games". Our internet system is weak. Forget what those companies tell you. Only one cable or so link Nigeria to the internet highway and quite frankly it is over subscribe and on top of that not the fastest. |
olabukola:It shows how much you know. Those people are actually from Africa. Outside africa, the biggest collection of black people is in Brazil. What do you know? ![]() There are people from Congo doing their voodoo and what not here. It is well known. For the record, most religion here are registered as charity unit and not a company. You mug. Registering a religion as a company is just telling the world you are after profits. Let me ask you something. What church do you go to? Or what are your beliefs? |
cold:The history of the major religions in the world - Christianity and Islam all have element of barbarism associated with them. What Traditional religion needs is a rework and modernization. Instead of a virgin girl, why not a white goat, chicken or something? If that is too much for some to bear, how about an offering to the poor? All these things are minor stuff in my opinion that can be easily rectified. |
redsun:That's because people are afraid to challenge what they believe in. Take this for example, I am yet to see a single Muslim explain to me convincingly as to why their so called Prophet Mohammed [ who is suppose to represent perfection] can marry an 8 year old and then have sex with her at 9. Is this the kind of religion I will wanna follow? I don't think so. I have asked this question in the Muslim section and guess what? It get locked all the time. Speak of close minded people. |
olabukola:You are a person. I do not have to come home to practice what I believe in. That is why it is called a[b] belief system[/b] you fool. There are plenty of Babalawo around the world - Haiti, Brazil to name a few - only that they do not advertise themselves like your Redeem Church or one of these new age churches. For the record, B Real [House of Pain] is a babalawo. Not that you will know anyway. |
The movie that I am dying to see is Transformers 2. This would be awesome and I so cannot wait for it. ![]() |
cold:But you cannot call it that is what am trying to say. African religion may have elements of alternative and traditional medicine to them, but there are not exclusively "Alternative medicine". They are beliefs system, Spirituality etc that one have to consider. |
olabukola:Bleep you and Bleep blood of Jesus. You didn't have to come in here to post. Do you see how easy it is to whip up controversy? What makes you believe in what you believe? Gosh. Please leave like-minded people to get along. Go to the Christian section and go and pray or something. |
cold:Say what? Alternative medicine is something totally different. It is a complimentary to Medicine. [Medical sciences] |
Nigerians aint running away. I am a Nigerian and I have used a few cars with v6 engines. My last one was a Mitsubishi FTO. The current generation of Mechanic in Naija learn their trade based around I4 engines. So a V6 may perhaps be alien to them. Also the arrangement of the Plug system confuses the mechanic. V6 are smoother than most I4 engines and in my opinion, the V6 engines provide a balance between power and economy. |
I am in support of this. I come from a clan of Ogun worshipper. The whole Jesus and Mohammed thing is over rated to be honest. ![]() Oogun lakaye, osunmole. Olomi n'le fi eji we. O la sho nle fi mukumu bora. |
The anal sides. It is blacked and a few people thought it would be a nice idea to "tone" it. lol. It was even shown on tv over here. ![]() |
chidichris:I agree. Oil is looking more and more like a cures in most developing countries that have them. In the case of Nigeria, it appears we have been cursed for generations to come now. As for re-branding, you cant do much unless of course one changes the mentality of the people. It aint gonna happen overnight and it would take years to re-educate the masses. Until then, any talk of rebranding simply will not work. |
IyaKadijat:Haha. Thanks. It should be noted that it was from "recollection" and I may have missed out a few key things there. As for you having a big hip, it actually means biologically that you are more suited to ensuring the continuation of the human species! How I hear you ask? Well, having a bigger hips [which sometimes means big arse] means you will be able to cope with carrying a bigger baby. A bigger baby means a variation in human physical appearance etc and hence a better chance of survival. You are the other ladies with Big arse you see yourselves as "Biological Men in Black". . . Saving man kind from extinction. lolCakeMonsta:Not only porn stars. Socialites and those who are just plain crazy in my opinion do it too. I think it is called Anal bleaching or something along those lines. There is a video on it on the internet. Skin toning is a milder form of skin bleaching jare in my opinion. Just google Skin toning creams and you will see plenty of them. |
Oh dont forget that we all crawled as a baby as well. ![]() |
From what I recollect. The elbow, knees and joints in the feet and hands get used every day and as such have over the years evolved to better protect us, this have lead to hyper pigmentation of these areas. Also, it was also alleged that due to our forefathers crawling when hunting etc [Some African tribes still hunts in this manner], these areas become hardened and darked as well. Something that have been passed down us to us. And as with many things passed down the human chain, [gene] it can be more pronounced in some than in others. I'm looking up for definite answers, and would post them if I come across anything. |
IyaKadijat:Lol. Me too I disagree jare. I am in London, and going to Peckham [Black area] you see all these body shop cream actually selling every day Toning cream. This cream appears to be made for every day use - for the whole body. From your Tura gel, IKB, Movate, Fashion fair etc are all marketed as "Toning cream" You know that the elbows, knees are dark for a good reason - Biological reasons actually - and why people need to undo this is beyond me. Allow me to play along on your God's view. If God make us in his image, I guess on that alone we do not need to make any improvements, especially those that kills of what is meant to protect and benefit us. No? But why do you see the need to use a toning cream? Perhaps you have allowed the Western world of beauty's perception to get to you? In other words brainwashed into thinking you need to make adjustment to your skin appearance? Just a thought. If I am your boyfriend, I would tell you that you are beautiful and you do not need any alteration to your skin. ![]() |
Review summary. The movie started very well, however along the lines it became something of a "Mad max movies with robotic killing machines". The story line is okay, but not something great either. Bale did a very good job in acting, as he kinda brings his "dark side" acting to the film - i.e talking less, showing little or not emotions etc. My only problem is that the CGI used to represent Arnold [Original terminator actor], wasnt up to scratch and was more or less "cheap". Over all, it is any enjoyable movie, but it wont be something I will watch again. I guess if you like How Chiristian Bale act [similar to Keanu reeves style in the matrix] and loving robots blowing things up, then this movie may be for you. 6.5 out of 10 |
Nah wah o. Load of people are so desperate around here. Kai. A couple of questions: 1. Have you called anyone? 2. Have you received any call as a result of posting your number here? |
LMAO at "Full option". |
What is the problem? We condone laziness, Greed, Getting rich at whatever means approach. . . .etc. I really do not see the problem here. For this to be a problem, Nigerians may have to change their mindset about loads of stuff. Until then, people are just barking up the wrong tree. |
IyaKadijat:This is precisely my problem with those who do either acts - They are more or less doing some sort of damage/manipulation to the skin. Bleaching and toning in my views are just same thing. One is more harsh and the other gentle. We are rich in a melanin for a good reason, and it appears that people tend to miss this. I will not call a few spot on my skin as a blemish or imperfection. As far as I am concerned it is what makes me, me. If you agree that Black is beautiful, why even think about making changes to it in such manners? [Not implying that you do] |
tosh_acer:That statement and your view are more or less the same. |
Local communities “say they have been completely left out of the process and are not satisfied,” said Kamugisha. It appears Uganda may actually be failing at learning from Nigeria! ![]() |
