sweetguy10:
This issue of juju , myths and other stuffs in some way is real and in some way is not real . How will you explain the magun ( thunderbolt - if that's the english meaning , dunno) case that happened in my area ?(the man crowed thrice after sleeping with his neighbour's wife and died on spot) some of these things are real and most of it is unreal . Some how and some way things has been manipulated that the fraudulent people took over . I am not the type that believe in those traditional shits as well but with some experience all i do is pray not to get mixed with any spiritual problems . I mean problems that money won't solve,  I'm always saying this prayer every morning .
There is no single proof that these things are real. It is all trickery, playing on people's fear and beliefs etc. How come none of these realness have yet to be capture on video for us all to see?

I have heard of people claiming they "saw" such incident, but when you actually get to the bottom of it, they are just relaying third rate information, and did not actually witness the incident as it happens. Also, when they see something, they automatically fit around it what have been drilled into their subconscious.  Take for example, how the heck do did police in ilorin held a goat in the station, believing it was a thief? The bottom line is that the thief out-witted the police and escaped, but I guess it makes them look less of a fool if they claim he turned into a goat?

I'm a yoruba boy and i've seen things that still remain mysterious till today . How will you explain the case where two men were fighting then the older man slapped the younger guy with a ring he immediately went paralyzed , what's the scientific explanation to that ?
Basic science, there are some points on your body that if you get hit with the right velocity and technique, you will blackout. Fact. Fighting techniques such as Kray Manga and some martial arts uses this as a basis for self defence and to spring surprise attacks. Even forces around the world use them as it is effective in dealing with a target.
Ok how about this ? grandmom told me about this particular war that occurred between the Federal soldiers and the natives in Abeaokuta(Ogun adubi ) the natives vacated their village and went into the bush while the entrance to their village was placed under some kinda weird curse that kills ever military man that tries to enter it (imaginary cutlass hacking them to pieces) though the natives move about freely , what will dear Elrazur and his apostles say about this ?
Bullshittt. Stories from generation to generation have been shown to be inaccurate, and hence why they become myths, and such myths become legends. Ever ask yourself, why such event is yet to happen again? smiley

There are many more live experience , Juju surely works and exist but it's potent power has been manipulated by the money hungered people . About the religion stuff ? Hmmmm dont know what to say about that after reading Angels and Demons , The Davinci code (though it's genuineness has been questioned and some facts has been declared Unreal) I am still working on unravelling some Juju actually .
No juju do not work. There is no single proof that they do.

If you argue otherwise, I will voodoo-curse your family. grin

My last sentence will only upset you if you believe in such non-sense. Simply put, I am playing on your belief and using it against you. grin Same thing those voodoo people do. Allahuakbar.

Be patient. You know the gods are slow. They may get to you yet.
I come from a Clan where Oogun is worshipped you see, and as such, as they say in yoruba, you cannot make a sacrifice unto the Gods, using the Sons of the Gods. smiley

The point is once you understand the concept and ideas behind the dos and don't surrounding this myths. It all becomes something you can use to your advantage. Take for example the river that is consider sacred in my village. Back then, it was the only source of Drinking water and as such throwing lines into it is not seen as a healthy option. In order words, the invention of "do not fish in here because the spirit lives in it" is nothing but a ploy to keep the river clean and prevent the use of worms, bait and other stuff from going in there.

I can give you a few more examples if you want. Heck, it is this sort of beliefs that lead to some religion proclaiming certain animals as being unclean.

YOu don crase. The egun in lagos and around the cities are just fakes. Period.

In my Village, there is this thing called "Babanigbo" (Man in the bush), now that one na proper mystery I plan on solving. He dwells in the bushes, and when he is around, no one goes into these bushes. The weird thing is that when he screams, you can feel it reverberating all around.

Assuming, it is a man behind it, I am not sure how he can make such a noise that appears to fill the entire forest. I plan on going home and finding out at some point.

It may be worth knowing that those who apparently tried before died in mysterious circumstances, I for once cannot wait. Infra red cameras and surveillance camera should reveal who is behind it all.

While we are speaking of voodoo, can anyone confirm is "Touch and Bleep" actually works? Basically, it is a ring that is sold by voodoo men, and once a man puts it on, he will shag any woman he touches with it.

Malaysia, yes. Ghana . . . don't make me laugh, mate.
Ghana is not 'developed', not by a long stretch. You can't even compare South Africa to Malaysia in terms of output, let alone Ghana.
Huh? Erm okay, I have a feeling Ghana must be since they have more basic amenities in place than us, I guess they must be because they have a higher GDP, I guess they must be because they are still in the world cup. grin

I guess all the old Yoruba folks who can read the Bible in their language are all 'illiterate'. Even Crowther was 'illiterate'.
Bad example, Samuel Ajayi Crowther is not one. After all, he translated the Bible from English to Yoruba. You will need a high level of literacy to pull off such a feat.

Can you point to me one claim made by a Christian or Muslim outside of faith that defies logic?

Or maybe I am not understanding your point. undecided
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Among Nine Most Illiterate Countries In The World by ElRazur: 9:42pm On Jun 23, 2010
AjanleKoko:
68% literacy is hardly high illiteracy.
It means, in layman terms, 32% of a 150m population are illiterate. Hardly a national catastrophe, considering that Incredible India is at 59% literacy (almost half of Indians are illiterate).

We're not doing great. But we also are not doing that badly. Hardly a national emergency yet. We are, after all, a developing country.
Are you kidding me? 68% is considered a B+/A- when grading paper. How can that not be high?

Another example is this, if 68% of Nigerians are killed in ethnic cleansing, I wonder if that will be high enough for you? smiley

My problem here is that, instead of us focusing on Nigeria, we are forever trying to compare with others. This is counter productive, because we get the false sense of security that we ain't doing too bad, when evidence suggest that we are. undecided

Malaysia and Ghana all got their independence in the same decade as us. Malaysia is way developed than us, and so is Ghana. Using the term "developing nation" to sugar coat it or soften the blow won't work with me. The thing wey no good, no get another name, but no good. grin

Unlike, Christianity or Islam, juju is not based on faith, but on magical claims that defy both logic and the natural laws.
Oga, they are all form of beliefs. Refer back to the examples of similarities I gave to Bluetooth. Don't forget that voodoo have all types and sub types attached to it. Focusing on the magical part, may not be a true representation.

By the way, Muhammed shagging a 9 year old defies logic and natural law. grin

Comparatively, I think we're not doing badly in Africa.

All these ppl are just being patriotic. Them think say their villgae begins and ends with the global world.
How can they be patriotic, when these sort of actions have kept us from developing?

I mean, we go about thinking we are the "Giant of Africa" and we are "amongst the best in the world".  .   .   .   . yet when we are cut down to size like we saw in the world cup, these same people end up looking for something else to blame, instead of dealing with the fundamental issues we have.

My point? Be patriotic, but at least engage common sense.

they are two different things only if you are atheist
That's a bit weak and wuruwuru to the answer. Try explaining or something.

Most forms of belief subscribe to a higher God of some kind. Even Satanist do too. smiley

Your Pastor claims to pray to the almighty God through Jesus. Your voodoo man calls on all type of sub-gods, demons etc to act as a Gateway etc.

Your Pastor reads from the Bible and prays. Your voodoo man recites incarnations and spells.

You get the picture. There is really no difference between an Iman, Voodoo man and Woli. They are all conning people. grin

Both beliefs are similar if not the same - The belief in imaginary things to make the life of people/things etc better or bad. Depending on how you look at it.

Oh speaking of the world cup, anyone notice how our players over the years have these two traditions/ritual - Placing right arm across the chest during national anthem, and then jumping up or clapping once the anthem is over. grin

Finally, may I turn this debate on its head by saying. Nigeria's last progress in terms of football technicality was under Clemens Westerhoff.
