C'mon, admit that your friends got your details via these social networking forums. You gave them, they didnt pay a detective to fish it out. I will only agree with you on this issue if your contact information was gotten without your knowledge. Move over to the dark side. Can I have whatever you are smoking please. I can do with getting high too. It is friday. My personal examples I gave were for phone numbers and BB pin. I am yet to have a single breach on facebook and twitter am afraid. I gave my number to Kunle, Kunle opted to give it to Nuru simply because he was my senior in school, and his mum fries akara down the road. I mean, how is that not a breach? The phone number was given out without my permission. ~Sauron~: Nigerians don't understand the meaning of privacy. That is ALL. I am trying not to say that, but it is hard not to think so. The funny thing is that they then get mad at you if you complain lol. |

Kai, this guy is so clever. Kobojunkie: The ferrari bit was all me . . . I posted earlier that if I were to discover that they owned properties paid cash for and drove around in ferrari's living the high life, I would definitely want them to go down. . Well, define INVOLVED. Ibori's own sister and wife abroad have been sentenced in the UK. I think what the one did was help recieve the stolen money and that was enough to send her to jail. I am certain she did all she could to deny it, but that apparently didn't fly. I hear you. The ferrari bit stuck in my head lol. I am sure with time, we will know the real facts. By the way, is the story reported elsewhere? Wallie: I don’t think it is that easy to conclude that they’re adults because they’re in Uni. All my siblings started university between ages 16-17. But that’s neither here nor there, as the kids even if minors shouldn’t be allowed to profit from their father’s criminal enterprise.
So I agree that extending the visa ban to them is appropriate since issuance of visa is a privilege and not a right. Most Nigerians who go to uni are legally adult by the time they start here. That is the point I was trying to make. |

If they are Nigerians and in Uni, and drive Ferrari as the article claim. I am sure it is safe to conclude that they are adult. lmao. I think proving that they are involve is harder, but showing that they enjoy the benefits and spoils of their father's handiwork is easier imo. And na that one dey vex people. |

I do not allow Goggle to index me. etc and I control how my info is share. Same go for twitter, I am on it, but my tweets are protected etc. It is little things like that, that keeps ensures our privacy etc. Having said that, there are laws for example in the UK that Facebook and other social sites must abide by when it comes to privacy. Which ever way you want to look at it, yes privacy do exist and people should learn to respect it. |

As for the public figures, what do expect? When you become famous, you are signing up for a life of Zero or less privacy!
Not a very brilliant disguise now is it? Nah, there are way round it. Keep a spare phone with a long battery life. Put it on silent and leave it there. That one will be your public phone that you only check, once every three week. My point to be honest, is more to do with how people give out info's of without respect at all for the owner of such info. As for my disguise, it is very effective against spam mail. Spam bots, are designed to pick up on emails and as such, disguising it, throws them off track. HOwever, it will still be useful for humans that may need to contact me if necessary. Finally, it is my email I use for forum, nothing more inside of it. No personal info and all that. |

Odunnu, I have no pity whatsoever for anyone who gets spam mail after posting their info willingly on a forum. Even my email in my profile is disguised. Heck, very intelligent of you this time around. Keep it up. ferdiii: They are not innocent without working hard and they are studying abroad with our money. How much is their papa salary? They won't ask, well they are doing that now. Dad, we never knew you stole and extorted from Ibori to fund all these. I knew that man is a criminal-only time will let it out. So if Nigerian Govt is good and gets all the monies back from Michael, the children won't come back to Nigeria to study? I said let Transparency Int'l demands all Govt officials' family be sent home and every developing country will be developed. That is the only thing transparent. It is a widely held assumptions that they are spending our money. It will be nice to have proof of this to be honest. As far as this case goes, I see no reason for their photos to be posted on the web. Or the information of which university they attend over here is made public. It potentially breaches their safety. While a lot of people are happy that their faces are shown, it should be noted that this move will work in their favour. They can claim they can no longer come home as they are under threat. The home office in the UK can as a result grant them x number of years on their visa. Again and again, I have asked, should a child be punished for the crime of their parent? If you agree, should you be punished for the sin of your parent? I rest my case. MELAA: @ElRazur keep your mouth seal. So I gave my number out to a couple of friends back home, and before I know it loads of people I haven't spoken to in years started calling me at odd hours. I gave out my BB pin to a couple of friends, and bang I started getting request from people I do not know. So I have seen people post private information around here, ranging from alleged Seun's phone number, down to the BB contacts of some of the players who featured in the on-going world cup. I mean, it is something I have observed over time and forces me to ask question, if we have respect for people's privacy at all in our culture? Another example or should I say observation is when Saharareporters posted information of the children of Michael Aondoakaa on the web. It details their university information amongst other things. Surely, this is wrong? What are the laws on Privacy matter in Nigeria, or do we not have one? I mean, it is wrong or should I say a bit odd from the norm posting people's information without their permission. Thoughts please? |
