I don’t think Europe wants this. If the US steps aside, Russia is likely to declare a war against the EU in no time (in fact they said this during the invasion that anyone who helped Ukraine should consider itself at war with Russia, but US is the only country stopping them from implementing it), and US will simply stay on the sidelines and supply arms and equipment to both sides like it did during WW2 before Japan attacked and brought them into it.
The interesting thing is that these EU countries are democratic countries, many of their presidents and PMs have very low approval rating at the moment, and their citizens or parliament may likely not agree to go to war

Russia is already too weakened to start anything with the whole of Europe.
