EducationRe: Matawalle Donates N100m To JIBWIS For Construction Of Islamic University by Elzak(m): 2:34pm On Jul 17, 2020
SmartyPants:
Covenant University is a conventional university owned by Christians.

That does not connote a Christian university.

Nor was Covenant founded or funded by the State.
Likewise this university you people want to bury before it's birth. It's a conventional university owned by Muslims. The governor of Zamfara state is a Muslim contributing to the university, that doesn't mean the Zamfara state government is founding or funding the university.

What point are you trying to make this time around? You people were on nairaland screaming how there were more Christian-owned universities than Muslim-owned universities. Now Muslims get one and you people are complaining. Why exactly?

Whereas on the other hand, it appears your Islamic university will only be impacting Islamic studies to its students.

What a shame in this 21st century undecided
Nothing Islam does will ever impress people like you so it doesn't really matter what you think. You have already judged the university before it's full establishment.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Don't Like Each Other - A South African Writes by Elzak(m): 6:06pm On Jun 13, 2020
That's nothing but the truth. Nigerians want stigmatization and racism to stop but they don't even like one another.

A post was made here on nairaland about a Nigerian-American whose book is New York number one bestseller, instead of just praising the writer, one Mr SecretSpy666 was rather looking for a northern Muslim woman who is a popular writer.

Pls medics in the house I need your candid advice on this matter.
I am considering the following institutions for mbbs DE. I am not sure what to expect in these schools. So, I need guidance to help me make the best decision.

1. UNN: I heard they write post DE examination. The issue is the nature of the exams. Is it purely O level standard or A level? Is there past questions for it? Which textbook is best for it?

2. UDUS: I really want to know if sokoto admits through DE. What's the DE quota like? I sent an email to the school, no response.
cc:

ShahRukhKhan

3. UNIJOS: Also want to know how their DE quota is like and the likelihood of being admitted. Is there anything like exam?

5. UNIZIK: What is their modus operandi? Is it monetized like some eastern schools?

6. BUK: huh

7. UI: I heard Ibadan is largely on merit. What is the nature of their post DE? And the quota? I hope they don't make use of ssce because my ssce is "C" all through.

Pls I need answers to these and opinions as well.
I don't want State unis cos I can't afford them.
Very important: which of these schools accept DE without NYSC.

Thank you for your anticipated response
UDUS doesn't accept DE into MBBS

The boy has one of the highest, average or not. He should not have been denied admission based on silly quota or what not. You should read the article before contributing nonsense.
How dare you accuse me of not reading before contributing nonsense.

I vowed not to reply any idiot but I have been forced by your ridiculous comment which shows that you didn't read the title of the post let alone the body.

Which boy are you talking about if I may ask?

Quota for a student that scores 309? Does that make sense to you?
Probably the first time you are seeing someone score 309. Besides that was her UTME score and not the average(used by ABU)

But some people who don't know how admission works in ABU were shouting religion up and down.

They will still come to comment without reading the post.

This is very unfair except if ABU has some other meaningful reason which I can't think of now. Perhaps she should do change of institution and try another university.

That's to avoid victimisation if she gets into ABU.
This is not a strange thing as far as ABU is concerned and her score is not as high as you are thinking considering she's seeking admission to study medicine and in ABU, one of the best universities in Nigeria.

The quota for medicine is so little in all medical schools compared to the number of aspirants gunning for medicine bringing in competition. The competition becomes more stiff when one applies the top universities. So you don't expect them to admit everybody who just passed cut off mark.

All federal universities use quota system in which admission is based on catchment area, ELDS and merit and preference is given to catchment areas.

If you are not from a state within the catchment area of ABU you have to score the highest in your state before you can gain admission to study medicine in ABU. For instance, if A scores 320 from a non catchment state and B scores 319 from the same non catchment state, only A will be admitted into medicine.

It may interest you to know that ABU doesn't use O'level as criteria to give admission rendering her As almost useless. They use what they call average; the sum of your score in jamb's UTME and ABU's post utme divided by two. That means her average is 288.

This is small to fetch medicine in ABU even if she's from a catchment state.

Let's be guided please

I learnt that medicine is a no go area for any non Muslim students in almost all the universities in the north. Maybe 1 in a hundred, could be lucky to get the offer.

Whatever the reason can't be far fetched from ethnicity & religion... The OP has informed us about the cut-off marks...

While i was in school, a lecturer once felt the pain when it happened to his cousin from that same ABU. He took revenge on those Northerners, denied them admission into the University w/o apology and clear evidence.

The lady might have chosed ABU cuz it is Federal Sch....Those who own the Federal Might supported by the constitution have just exercise their dominance.

What i have heard subsequently, these Federal schools in the North own good teaching health facilities than those in the South, hence the need for her choice of ABU.
You tried but your knowledge in this case is limited. Not just the bolded, learn more

Saying she was denied admission because she's not a Muslim is baseless. That's also saying that UNN, UNICAL, UNIZIK and the likes don't admit muslims.

As was narrated by Lai Muhammad the president said that the boko haram sect has been technically defeated he was in London when he made the statement
As was narrated by Demi Adeshina the president was sitting down and was watching the super eagles match when he said that and I quote" insha Allah boko wil

As narrated by Lorita onochie, it was when members of ohaneze came to see him with some Palm wine in daura that he said boko harms was collaborating with IPOB to destabilize the country but they are on their way to be defeated, he was on his palour
And this statement was made same day, our president is a DEITY

Why are you guys all bringing religion and ethnicity here? Do you mean to tell me there are no Christans in ABU.

From the comments I've read here so far it's obvious that most of you are ignorant on how admission works.
