My Rhythmless Song
Silence speaks over the noise Timeless walks in over my time Dancing to the tune not played Yet I sing my rhythmless song.
I sat down with my flute Playing a rhythmless song Over and over again But none is listening to me.
Of who I seek to listen to me speak In this deafening silence Overtaking my heart in this graveyard.
But, like a thought unknown in a known place, I found you coming my way Listening to my rhythmless song Which you found interesting And full of rhythms.

timpaker: Weldone and welcome bro!
You did well.
Your verses are filled with catchy meanings of what we hear through our politicians. However, for the sake of your readers, your punctuation should to be properly placed (though it's a free verse, such punctuation could be skipped but it is necessary).
I love the fact that you selected your words carefully with each having to give a meaning to the poem - "emaculate" "emaculatable" "emaculated" "immaculate"
Bravo! Please we need to read more of your poems here.
Thank you. Thanks very much boss for your review sir. |

donifez: Princesa review was spot on, Your poem is brevity personified. changing the day and not the day changing me (motivational), Represented our leaders with their quotes (Brilliant). keep it up bro"(we need such poems to show us where we are and help us move further".
*Princesa i doubt if u really know me...i do participate on your rhyme and rhythm thread, when you start another, please mention me. wow! thanks very much for your review, I will work on that. |

I appreciate you all for your advice, criticisms and corrections. I have modified the poem to include all the corrections. Sagaciously and graciously! None ever said but all is said To be good
Good? $1 equals 200 naira Salaries left unpaid People living under $2 per day Leaders keep embezzling While we keep suffering
If madness we have And stealing we enter Because of the "good" nature Of our country Just for us to place a cup of tea and bread On our table Restrictions belong to us And yet they are not punished! They are left to play freely
Stealing they said is not corruption Then why punishing the masses If the leaders go scot free
If madness I must have, Let me be the man Changing the day and not the day changing me Let me be the man who belongs to not only everybody but nobody A man who says stealing is corruption And not mere stealing A man who is ready not only to delete but exterminate corruption A man who cares to hear and not to hear from anyone
Change! We seek! Transformation! We want! But can this happen without an immaculate mind Who is ready to emaculate* all emaculatable He, whose robe isn't tainted by palm oil but washed with hypo
If madness they would have, Let them prey on me Trail me and try to assassinate me No weapon, I said Like the biblical teke teke, Formed against me shall prosper.
If madness they must have, Let them soak what had been emaculated into palm oil all over again Let them pour wine on the immaculate nature of the emaculated
But let them know That another person shall rise again and whose might shall be like that of a legion And voice like the shout of battle on a battle field!
No one but the emaculated fellows shall escape His wrath!
No one but the emaculated fellows shall escape His wrath!

Bamibor: Your work is nice. The theme is clearly expressed and I also like the fact that you helped us with the meaning of the word 'emaculate', as it happens to be a vital part of your message. Good one, cheers! wow! thank you very much for your comment. i really appreciate you boss. |

"Am I still here?" A question that comes from me A guy that has lost his identity My identity of cajoling the world With materials emanating From my little world Of alphabetical instruments
Identity that has told me What Donifez likes And what Tex detests Making me understand human beings in general Identity that has taught me How to voice out my opinion As Everest does
The fire to regain my identity Was lightened by no Jew But by the man whose Body is on fire And his head is in star Or let me say Firestar
Doubt of the fire going A long way in regaining my identity Seems to be in catacomb
But can my identity be regained Without the status quo being changed? Can my identity be regained Without critics criticising my works?
On naira, the land I thread Fynestboi, my honourable guide In this voyage Seun, the seer of the land I thread upon in regaining my Long lost identity I lay my hope with God Overseeing my voyage 3 Likes 1 Share |

Can someone tell these "animals" that their actions are barbaric and unjust?

ideykwum: You don't even get the enormity of your grammatical errors, do you? It is not "error" but "mistake," I corrected it myself but if he had been the one to correct it, then it becomes an error. Back to the matter, I understand the enormity of the grammatical mistakes that was why I clarified my stance.By the way, I appreciate u for ur criticisms. Man must take criticisms into consideration before he can be a better person. Thanks very much. |

Kadata: Just two questions.
Are you truly a student of OAU?
How do you pass exams? if ur questions are based on the grammatical mistakes in the write up, I guess you asked right. I actually made use of "the snake" before changing the word to "it" in order to create some kind of suspense. I didn't actually remember to remove "the" from the write up and which made it look like I made a lot of grammatical mistakes. Back to the matter, why do you ask those two questions? |

Politics › Aregbesola: PDP Warns Aregbesola Over Planned Sacking Of Judge- Punch by emaculate99(op): 9:35pm On Jun 29, 2015 |
The Peoples Democratic Party has warned Governor Rauf Aregbesola to desist from the alleged plan to sack Justice Folahanmi Oloyede. The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Osun State, Mr. Bola Ajao, gave this warning in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday.Oloyede, a serving judge in Osun State Judiciary last week petitioned the House of Assembly asking the lawmakers to impeach the governor based on alleged financial recklessnes and his inability to pay civil servants for seven months.Reacting to the call from the All Progressives Congress that the judge should resign because she was conniving with the PDP to destroy Aregbesola’s administration, the opposition party accused the governor of planning to initiate the sacking of Oloyede. But the PDP said such move could trigger chaosin the state, while warning the governor to drop that plan. The statement read, ” This is an invitation to chaos because Governor Aregbesola cannot turnhimself into a bully that can’t be questioned or examined. He should not hunt the petitioner down if he has nothing to fear. At least, he says he is a progressive governor who should be aboveboard.“All men and women of goodwill all over the world should applaud Justice Oloyede. She doesn’t deserve recrimination for speaking out what is evident to everyone except Aregbesola and his praise-singers who will ultimately destroy this fading administration and the clueless governor.“It is gratifying that the entire public service in the state is solidly behind her. We implore the governor not to use his hands to set the state on fire. Moving against Justice Oloyede, the face ofprobity, accountability, justice, fairness and uprightness in public service, will spell doom for this failed administration.”The opposition party called on Nigerians to “talk Aregbesola out of this suicide mission” and one out to defend the allegations of corruption leveled against him by the judge.Ajao further stated that the the PDP had discovered an alleged plan with some members ofthe House of Assembly to summon the judge withthe aim of ridiculing her with embarrassing questions.“After the planned embarrassing appearance at the Assembly, a certain lawyer who Aregbesola’sadministration has hired for the hatchet job, willnow write a petition to the leadership of the Osun State judiciary, asking it to declare Justice Oloyede unfit for the Bench for being mentally-unstable.“The judiciary will in turn write the National Judicial Council which is expected to remove her as a judge since the Constitution says anyone that is of unsound mind can’t be a judge or remain on the Bench,” it added.
