The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Friday said thousands of Nigerian migrant girls brought to Italy were in great danger of being forced into prostitution in Europe.

The number of female Nigerians, many of them minors, often naive about their fate at the hands of traffickers, arrived by sea in Italy surged over the past three years from 1,454 in 2014 to 11,000 in 2016.


The organisation’s spokesman, Flavio Di Giacomo, said at a news briefing in Geneva that some 4,000 Nigerian girls had arrived so far in 2017.

The UN agency had said that based on data collected at landing sites, it was estimated that 80 per cent of the girls were “potential victims” of trafficking as sex workers.

According to Giacomo, the girls are often told the trip is free.

“These girls, who are increasingly younger every year, are brought to Italy and to Europe for sexual exploitation.
“They are taken by traffickers and then they are forced to be prostitutes in the streets in Italy.
“And sometimes, as far as we know, these girls are also sent to other European countries such as Spain, Germany, France and Austria.
“Many of the Nigerian girls are from poor families in Edo, who are psychologically manipulated during a voodoo ritual before leaving,’’ Di Giacomo said.


According to him, they are accompanied by a madam-linked to the traffickers on the long journey through Niger and Libya.

“The increasing number of minors arriving really do not have any idea even what prostitution is, what sex is.
“But, many of them understand the real purpose of this journey because many times they are forced to prostitute themselves in Niger, in Libya especially, in brothels there.
“So they understand they are not going to work as hairdressers.
“IOM officials try to intercept the Nigerian girls at landing points and inform them about the prostitution ring and their right to protection,’’ Di Giacomo said.


He said that the agency which had helped those who decided to flee the networks, reported the cases of 425 girls in 2016 to police.

“A few days ago, we had the story of this young girl, a 17-year-old girl.
“She has been told she was going to work at a hair salon; she didn’t have any idea she was going to be forced to prostitute herself.
“It was only when she arrived she found out that it was not real.
“The job was a lie and she was forced to become a prostitute, which was the only way to pay off the debt of the journey.
“She was forced to be out on the streets for 12 hours a day.’’

A Facebook page has shared some photos which show the shocking moment an angry wife punished a woman for allegedly messing around with her husband in the northeast town of Vietnam.

Of late, cases of women raping men in Zimbabwe has become rampant. A father-of-four, kidnapped and raped by two women for days to the extent that his penis became bruised, has come out to tell his story and it's really pathetic.

People have been sceptical about the stories being told of an increase in female rapists and this is because the victims prefer to be silent due to shame. However, the latest victim, a 48-year-old father agreed to speak to The Standard on the condition of anonymity.

The victim, Chivamba (not real name), is a teacher from Mashonaland East who lives in Chitungwiza. He said he never believed the stories about female rapists until it happened to him. Chivamba had tears in his eyes as he recounted the incident, saying it left him "confused, traumatised and dejected." He said he still relives the nightmare and hopes the women will get caught soon and be brought to justice.

No man would ever want such an experience and as for me, I would give anything to avoid a repeat, even in a dream, he said.


Recalling the sad incident, he said: ?My family stays here in Chitungwiza and I was on my way back to Macheke after a weekend visit when this tragedy happened. I usually prefer to use buses when travelling but as fate would have it, that day I flagged down a private car, a BMW and it stopped. The driver told me that he was going to Mutare via Marondera and that was perfect for me. There were three women already in the car, one sitting on the front passenger seat and the other two on the back seat. I got in and sat with the two women at the back and we took off.?
He said everyone was very friendly and the driver seemed to be in a romantic relationship with the woman sitting with him in the front.
?They were all drinking beer which was in a cooler box and when we got to Ziko shopping centre they stopped to refill. One of the ladies offered me a beer and I politely turned her down since I was not feeling well. I settled for a cascade which she handed over to me."


Chivamba said as they approached the Dema toll gate the driver took the dust road which many other drivers used to avoid paying toll fees. At this time, he said he had finished his drink and was already feeling dizzy.


I thought maybe it was the effects of the tablets that I had taken that day since I was having a running stomach. I fell asleep and the next moment I found myself in a small room with a small bed. I screamed but no one came to my rescue. My manhood felt itchy and when I looked down I realised I was bruised. I felt weak and I was confused.



Then the two women who I was sharing the back seat within the car entered the room. They appeared to be much younger than the one who was seated at the front. They began removing their clothes and told me that they wanted me to have sex with them. I refused but one of them who appeared very drunk produced a pistol and told me that she would not hesitate to kill me.


"They tied both my hands, and began caressing me like what happens in a porn movie. They would take turns to suck my manhood and forcibly having sex with me. I was made to take another drink and soon after I had an erection. They would not stop raping me despite my pleas for mercy. One of the women used a condom but the other one wanted unprotected sex."


The next day the women, while masked with a woollen hat, brought food for him into the room where he was locked. Later that day, they bundled him into their car and they drove for some time before he was dumped along Wedza-Murambinda road.


That was my first time to be in Wedza. I was assisted by some young men who directed me to Wedza centre where I reported the matter to the police. The police then took me to hospital where I was given treatment for the bruises on my manhood and also medication to prevent infection. I am grateful to the police and the staff at the hospital, he said.


Chivamba sustained injuries on his manhood, suffered chest pains and was put on 30-day medication to prevent him from contracting the HIV virus, a medical report shows. He now moves around with the aid of crutches, and each time he goes to pee, the scars on his manhood bring back the memories of how he suffered at the hands of the female rapists.

Manchester United-bound player, Romelu Lukaku was last week, arrested for hosting a rowdy pool party at the rented Beverly Hills mansion in Los Angeles, where he's holidaying with fellow football star Paul Pogba.

Beverly Hills Police Department revealed in a statement said they visited the address five times on the same evening to warn Lukaku about the noise last Sunday.


According to the authorities, Lukaku was technically arrested and given a citation. But it was not a physical arrest which would have involved handcuffs and being taken to jail.


The Belguim international star who's set to join Manchester United from Everton in a £75million deal was said to have released at the scene of his arrest


Lukaku s scheduled to appear before a judge at the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on October 2, 2017


A statement by the Beverly Hills police read:

“On July 2, 2017, at approximately 8:00 PM, Beverly Hills Police Department officers arrested a 24-year-old male subject by the name of Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli.

“Bolingoli received a misdemeanour citation for Beverly Hills Municipal Code Violation 5-1-104 – Excessive Noise. The citation was issued after officers responded to five other noise complaints from the same location, which resulted in verbal warnings.

“These noise violations occurred at a residence in Beverly Hills where Bolingoli was temporarily residing. Bolingoli was released at the scene with the citation and was not physically arrested.

“Bolingoli is scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on October 2, 2017.”

The police are looking for a 31-year-old Nigerian man identified as Ebiziem Ifeanyi Stephen to assist in investigations into the death of a five-year-old boy last Thursday, June 22.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ruslan Khalid said that the police brought in the deceased's mother, Nurfathiehah Ahmad Rokmar, 28, on June 23.


"She was picked up by the police in Bayan Baru, Penang and will be remanded until June 30," he said in a press conference at the district police headquarters today, Thursday, June 29, adding that they may seek an extension.

CP Ruslan said that Ebeziem (pictured), is Nurfathiehah's boyfriend and is believed to be still in the country.

ACP Ruslan urged the public to contact the Brickfields police at 03-9051 6222 if they have any information on Stephen's whereabouts.

"We believe we can solve the case soon with his assistance," he said.

On June 22, the five-year-old boy died in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) after falling into a coma.

His parents could not be found after they admitted him at a private hospital in Cheras on June 20, which later transferred the boy to HKL.

It was reported that the father is a foreigner, and both parents have a history of drug use.

His cause of death has been classified by the police as "head injuries due to blunt force trauma".

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

In a leaked WhatsApp chats, obtained by H-Metro, the heartbroken Walusi with Kudzai's sister Gulez had a discussion on the infidelity matter.

The chats which were typed in English and their indigenous language started with: “… I’m hurt, more than hurt, as I am texting you so tears are flowing down my cheeks. The last time I cried was 2009 when my mum passed away. … you know us very well ndichimuregerera you are the best person to testify kuti ndakambozama because I always confided in you.

Kudzai’s cousin Nyasha Mudema, who spoke to the publication said the embattled wife had resigned from her job and had relocated to Namibia to work out issues with her husband.

When H-Metro reached to Walusi via Whatsapp, he responded saying:

“I know and very much respect the nature of your job but whatever happened to us, it’s a thing of the past. What I did back then or what she did back then zvaiva zvenguva iyoyo.. she is and will remain my wife.

A 12-year-old boy who is a Junior Secondary School pupil I of the Lekki British International School, Lekki, Lagos, has been expelled for allegedly putting sulphuric acid and ethanol in the water bottle of his classmate.

According to Punch Metro, the young boy was envious of the 11-year-old female classmate, who had beaten him to the first position in the first and second terms.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Wednesday, June 14.

The school was planning for the third term exam when the 12-year-old allegedly sneaked into the school’s laboratory and stole the acid and ethanol.

He was said to have mixed the chemicals and poured them into the 11-year-old’s water bottle.

Two pupils of the school reportedly caught him in the act and reported to the school management.

The suspect allegedly owned up to the crime, saying he had been planning it for sometime.

A member of the 11-year-old’s family said on Wednesday that despite the culprit’s confession, the school allowed him to sit for the third term examination.

When our correspondent contacted the school management, an official, who did not identify herself, said the pupil had been expelled.

She said, “The boy has been expelled with immediate effect. The girl is in school and she is fine. We have zero tolerance for such misbehaviour.”

You will just need to wonder the kind of brain God has given to some people. How can you come on social media to glorify cultism and even claiming those that do not have cultists as boyfriends are single.

A trending video of a bold commercial s*x worker and a customer have caused a stir online.

The alleged prostitute wearing a red top, black pants and red sandals to match is seen harrassing the man dressed in a blue native attire for allegedly sleping with her and refusing to honour their financial agreement.

The young woman who looked agitated could be seen screaming "you must pay me my money today, so you knew you never had money and you took me to your house".

The seemingly confused man denied sleeping with her but appealed to her to exercise patience with him as her payment wasn't on ground.

A man could be seen in the short Snapchat video clip trying to mediate in the ugly drama.

This has attracted humour online as Nigerians laugh off the careless action of the man which has led to his public disgrace. How the drama ended still remains unclear.
