PoliticsRe: Could This Be The Real Reason Why The Nigerian Economy Went Into Recession by Emancipation:
[b]Here are my own reasons of why we are in recession and economic instability

1) Buhari started out cancelling so many progressive economic policies of Goodluck Jonathan. Not because they were bad but simply out of spite, hatred and general lack of understanding.

2) Buhari took 7 months, I repeat: 7 long months to appoint ministers. The new british prime minister took only 3 to 4 days.

3) Buhari did not appoint technocrats but instead appointed political cronies as ministers. His minsters are so clueless that they had to consult with economic experts last month on how to fix the economy.

4) Buhari stubbornly burnt external reserve trying for months to artificially peg the Naira to dollar at #199 against the warning of so many economists. This only helped people with political connections and not the average citizen.

5)Buhari agreed with David cameron that Nigeria is fantastically corrupt. This of course gives no confidence to an investor. The role of the president is to defend his country and promote confidence.

6) Human rights violations which led to the rise of the likes of IPOB and Niger Delta Avengers. At a time when countries are fighting for global old market share, the NDA significantly reduced nigeria oil in the global market.

7) Travelling to over 30 countries without attracting any significant investments into the economy.

Although I disagree with adaure4ever's manner of approach to her case against IPOB, I fully support her that IPOB should focus on Igbos in SE and SS only, Leave non Igbo Niger-deltans out of this agitation because the insult ndigbo is receiving because of it is unbearable.

Igbos have more than proven that they can do without nigeria. They were given 20 pounds and they used it to rebuild their crumbled cities. They are even ranked best in all indices of development by the UN in 2016.

Ndigbo need to just focus on their core survival interest and forget about including people that will accuse them of land grabbing tomorrow.

Excuse me, do you think that I am against Igbos leaving this country? NO Way.
I am just advocating wisdom in living in Nigeria till we get our self determination.
You guys should stop being emotional.
Social Media is powerful and I am doing my little part in defending Igbo interest and crushing the negative Igbophobic stereotypes that are existing in this country.
And this is exactly what we all that love an cherish ndigbo should do and continue doing. Criticize constructively and not try to tear down our unity in the process. Adaure4ever, I adressed the same exact issues that you brought up that Igbos should remove non igbo niger-deltans in their movement about a months ago. That thread went smoothly. Nobody was insulted and most commenters understood where I was coming from.

I owe you a kiss. Ada baby, to be honest I wept the day I visited Lausanne in Switzerland. I tell you the truth Africa will never recover. do you know that the population of Switzerland is just a little above 7million? Yet even Americans are dying to visit that country. They have the highest salary in Engineering in the world and currently one of the Highest Per-Capita Income, currently I am vigorously pursuing for a work there. To even think that their entire landmass is not up to the size of Anambra state made me sadder.

In all honesty, we Igbos are just wasting away with this nonsense called Nigeria. Tell me what Good the yoruabs or Hausa have been to us? You heard recently that Anambra exported vegetables worth over $5million now tell me again, is anambra state a non-fertile land? So why do we need this so called One Nigeria. Please Pardon me for my too many questions, I want some one that will give me concrete reasons not based on anecdotes why we Igbos need to stay in this damnable republic.
You forgot to add that switzerland is a land locked country with almost no natural resources.

For those waiting on Nigeria to restructure, I have a bottle of air to sell to you.

Please go and read the aburi accord and see that all the solution to most Nigerian problems was there in that document.

Then after reading it, ask yourself why did Gowon and his fellow northers reject it after they already agreed to it?

You will then understand that waiting for the restructuring of Nigeria is a waste of time. To northerners, it is equivalent as breaking up.

Adaure4ever:
I pray and seek for a Well developed Igbo Nation. But can we achieve that when we hate one of our own?
What exactly is Okorocha sin?
Ndigbo do not hate rochas. Ipob does. There is a big difference.

Ipob did not wake up one morning and decided to hate rochas. Rochas to them is someone that will sell Igbo interest to get the presidency.

God forbid but if your head is chopped off tomorrow like that woman from imo state, the same set of bastards cheering you will also cheer your death and even go as far to taunt Ndigbo with it. They won't give a damn that you are pro Nigeria.

This is not to question your criticisms but when people that don't like Ndigbo begins to support you, you need to sit back and pinch yourself.

When Chinese, Lebanese, Americans and Germans go to north and Lagos to do business, nobody complains. They call them foreign investors and in some cases even give them free land to setup factories. But when igbos, your so called countrymen tries to do the same, all of a sudden it generates unwanted anger and jealousy.

I don't know how many times we will hammer dis message into you people's skull. De last thing on the mind of an Igbo man is the presidency. Igbos by nature could care less about politics, we are gifted in business, hard work and intelligence, these alone are more than enough for us. What we care now is getting our Biafra which as things stand now we are etching closer it. We are heterogenous in all its leanings, we have a mono religious background, we've a definite geography, we've a range of fundamental beliefs like the sanctity of life, we believe in one man one wife, i.e. We practice monogamy, so what in the world do we need an aliance with the Yorubas whom according to our judgement are the most confused tribe in the world.

The Yorubas are neither Christians nor Muslims, they are neither polygamous nor monogamous, they are always divided - you can check their voting patterns to understand what I mean. To be honest I see no reason why an Igbo man will ever dream of having anything remotely to do with Afonjas.
It feels like there is a curse on that presidency.

What did obasanjo do for Yorubas? Are they first world region?
What did Jonathan do for the ijaw said and Niger deltAns?
What have northern presidency done for the north? The north is still the most backward region in Africa.

There is a curse on that presidency

This is a lie that delusional and deniers of reality peddle online to continue false unity. Yorubas and igbos don't like each other. They smile to each other on the streets but nairaland gives them the opportunity to say their mind on how they truly feel. I believe what Yorubas say on nairaland than the fake smile I get from them on the streets.

In 2011 when post election violence started, Yorubas on nairaland were cheering that igbos were being killed in the north. When the list of dead people came out and they saw fellow Yoruba names, they became numb.

Mind you, he has been saying very horrible things about igbos for more than a decade even before buhari became president. Google his articles

Ask him when he last came to the east. He one of those delusional Igbos that say the most stupid statements such as " I am more Lagosian than I am Igbo"

Igboid:
Kalabari and Okrika are like Ogba and Ikwerre, while Kalabari and Okrika are Ijoid, Ogba and Ikwerre are Igboid. You can't compare Kalabari with Ijaw, you can only compare them to Ijaw groups like Nembe in Bayelsa and not the entire Ijaw. You can only compare Ogba and Ikwerre to Igbo groups like Ngwa, Enuani, etc, and not to the entire Igbo nation.

Your use of Spanish and Italian languages to compare the Igbo and Igboid groups show your ignorance, for a start, Spanish and Italian languages all descended from
the old Latin language of the Roman empire that reigned over those parts of Europe and are rooted in Roman empire imperialism, hence they are called Romance languages.

At no point did the Igbo colonize Ogba or Ikwerre people and administered them using Igbo language, like the Romans did in Italy and Spain and Portugal at any point in history.
Ogba and Ikwerre were not the only groups in Eastern region, the Ogoni, Andoni, Ogbia, are smaller groups than Ogba and Ikwerre but non of them are Igbo speaking today, yet Ndiigbo traded with them for years too, So the lies of Igbo forcing Igbo language on previously non Igbo speaking Ogba and Ikwerre in Eastern region or Ikwerre and Ogba becoming Igbo speaking because of pre colonial trade with Ndiigbo cannot stand the scrutiny of facts.
Usomini, Igburu and Egi dialects of Ogba are all totally mutually intelligible to an Igbo man with good grasp of Southern Abia and Imo Igbo dialects.

No, it was named Umuokoro because it was written in central Igbo and not Ikwerre dialect, and Rumu is same as UMU as both means " Descendants" or "children", House in Ikwerre is "ORO" and not "UMU".

It was the policy of the Eastern region to name major roads after major towns in the region. If you come to Aba, we have PortHarcourt road, Brass road, Opobo road, Aba- Owerri road, Ikot Ekpene road.
That a road In PH was named Owerri road means nothing.

On the Ogbu nu abali part, I learnt the land belongs to the town's of Oro Ogbum ( House of Ogbum) and Oro Abali( House of Abali) hence Ogbu nu Abali( ie Ogbum
and Abali) for the land shared by both towns Even in Ikwerre, Ogbu nu Abali literary translates to "He that kills in the night".

All in all, I can confidently say that your are ignorant of the issues you attempted to dabble into here.
Can anybody argue with me that Igboid is one of the most intelligent posters on this section. His intellectual capacity is beyond the people trying to debate him on various issues. shout out to Zendy too

Ipob has to fundamentally change their strategy. Reach out the the minority communities. Hold a weekly town hall meeting and give them the opportunity to ask questions. Show them assign representatives to work together in forming progressive constitution for the new nation. Shouting on radio is good but it can never substitute face to face meeting. If they cannot do this, then they need to just limit Biafra to ndiigbo.

Igboid:
You see groups of people stay in them rooms and start saying things like Igala and Idomas are "Bia****".
And you start wondering these?

1. Have this person actually taken his time to assess the general feelings of the average Igalas and Idomas towards the Igbo and the Bia***** identity

2, Have this person taken time to make consultations from the leaders of Igalas and Idomas towards the Bia**** identity

3. Does this person not know that it is outright insult and provocation to the leaders and people of Igalas and Idomas for him to seat in the comfort of his room and start assigning alien identities to them without first consulting them.

4. Those this person not know that this approach will make for a difficult consultation in the future as the people could already have become strongly Igbophobic due to these provocations and outright disregard to rules of proceedings?

These are the many things wrong with the current Igbo self secession agenda. The agitators assign themselves the title of messiahs on a mission to deliver other non Igbos groups neighboring Igbos, and go a messianic mission of chanting to whoever that cares how those people are being marginalised by Nigeria and while those people are Bia****.

This is really pathetic and has to stop.

PoliticsRe: Let's Focus On Igboland by Emancipation(op): 10:44pm On Jul 01, 2016

Exactly. There is this ignorance on the part of average Igbos, of the sentiments and deep seated Igbophobia amongst minorities in the deep south.

And groups like IPOB are not doing enough to bring this to the knowledge of Ndiigbo, neither are they doing enough to work on those sentiments, they just want to live in fools paradise by pretending that those sentiments don't exist, while they go about drawing imaginary maps and deceiving themselves and millions of innocent Igbos back at home.

I am disappointed in them( Igbo freedom groups) , and I have decided that until they recognize this very fact and take measures to educate the average Igbo youth about these hates emanating from the deep south, as well as fashion ways to correct some of those perception amongst those people through community based awareness and discussion programs, I will no longer support them.

The Igbophobia in the deep south stinks to high heavens, and if not addressed we will only be repeating history should we continue to agitate for self determination, as the Igbophobia of those groups would serve as a very good fertile grounds for our would be enemies that are hell bent on repeating 1966-70 events all over again.
This is also the reason for me why I am beginning to distance myself from the movement. Until they address the underlying igbophobia prominent among the minorities in Niger delta, I will cautiously support them but I will never throw my full weight behind it.
PoliticsRe: Let's Focus On Igboland by Emancipation(op): 10:29pm On Jul 01, 2016
zendy:
I completely understand what you mean. What you have to understand is that the Nigerian propaganda machine had many years since the end of the war to brainwash many of the minorities in Southern Nigeria that their Igbos neigbours were the real enemies. They were told that Igbos want to dominate them and steal their lands. But things are changing. It was an opener for the Niger Delta when Igbos gave their own son almost 100% support in the last presidential elections. They have started to realise that the Igbos are their only real friends in Nigeria. Most of the negative comments online towards Igbos are just Yorubas masquerading as indigenes of the Niger Delta. Like I said, a referendum will clear everything up.
Well let's continue the struggle. Time will expose people for who they truely are. This movement is not a race. It is a marathon. It is my hope that during this journey to freedom, Ndiigbo will use it to know who truly is their friend and who is their enemy. But destiny can be delayed but it can never be denied.

Gbam. And the funny thing...the Ijaws are actually the real land grappers. There has not been ONE tribe which reside next to ijaws whom they haven't attacked, killed or fought with over lamd. Hell even on NL.. I saw them trying to rewrite both Ndoki and Egbema history...right in our fucking face.

Honestly, sometimes I look at IPOB and Massob and wonder if they seriously know some of this tribes? I keep saying it. If IPOB insist of including ijaws and co, count Asaba out. I don't want to wake up one day and see ijaws fighting my people and claiming Asaba belongs to them.....maba

Before anyone accuse me of being paranoid, I have argued with one on NL who told me from his mouth that They (ijaws) gave the land we reside in to us...that historically, the land is theirs. According to the mofo, the entire Delta lands belong to them. If one of them have that deluded thought, I won't be surprised if several of them have that thought.
Thank you for seeing my point. although I don't hate ijaw or non Igbo minorities . I honestly wish them well but igbos need to stop unnecessary self sacrifice for people who don't give a damn.

We can be good neighbors while in separate countries. That is my own opinion.
Exactly what I am saying. Let's not create another quagmire in bia fran future. If they say that they want to be part of us, then we must have an open publicly televised debate and negotiations carried transparently so nobody will come tomorrow and say those Igbos deceived us.
