tuale4u:
As a south south person who have followed Nigeria politics closely there are things that are very crystal clear to all Nigerians about Nigeria unity.

No matter how everybody pretend about Nigeria Unity or Division today, everything boils down to Niger Delta oil.

The following scenarios prove my point:

1. Ask Biafra to form thier country with South east alone for a start, let South South Join them later if they wish. You will see strong opposition from Biafrans. You start hearing stories and plenty version of history. How south south people speak Igbo. How Jaja of opobo is Igbo. How Anioma is more Igbo than Benin bla bla bla as if they care. The next thing you will hear is let do a referedum. And ask South South people to choose between Biafra and Nigeria. This is d greatest Hippocracy in d matter. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY IF BIAFRA AGITATORS PUT REFEREDUM TO SOUTH SOUTH PEOPLE AS THREE OPTION INSTEAD OF TWO. LET THEM ASK SOUTH SOUTH PEOPLE TO CHOSE AMONG NIGER DELTA REPUBLIC, BIAFRA OR NIGERIA. When Biafra agitator start making the referedum three options instead of two, i will become i strong supporter of d movement. But instead they will start divide and rule on south south. They will start telling south south people how Ijaw and Itsekiri dont agree. how okrika and ikwerre dont agree etc. As if Niger delta people agree with them more than fellow south south person.

2. Let Biafra openly say they dont want South South in Biafra, Nigeria will grant them freedom within a year.

3. Let Niger Delta oil dry up, and Biafra struggle continues, Nigeria will divide within d first six months of no oil.

4. Another reason North want One Nigeria is because of Lagos. Lagos is d prize of south west. North is landlock. Lagos is d major source of import to Northern Nigeria.

In summary No matter how Biafra agitators pretend or One Nigeria Northerner or South Westerner pretend, Everything Boils down to Niger Delta oil as at today. SOUTH EAST,SOUTH WEST AND THE WHOLE NORTH ARE ALL PARASITE TO SOUTH SOUTH.

I know some will say IMO and ABIA have some oil. True. ONDO state Oil is more than IMO and ABIA combined. The sharing if 13% derivative anong oil producer clearly shows this.

The truth is dat the most important thing or intetest to human beings is economic interest. It is not brotherhood, it is not religion.

The importance of Niger Delta is so obvious today. Nigeria is almost dead just because oil price drop by 70%. No fuel, no dollar, PDP/APC Governors cant pay salary all over d six geopolitical zone, inflation etc all boil down to low price of Niger Delta oil. No light is still about Niger Delta gas. The truth is dat Niger Delta is d air Nigeria breathe.

As long as Biafra Map have South South in it, Biafra will continue to be a mirrage. There will never be referedum. It can only happen by war. All most all d war in d world is about economy not religion.

If South East want to leave Nigeria without south south, Nigeria will rather encourage it than prevent it. The North Will be very happy to hear that.
I need you to answer these questions truthfully:

1) What state, local government and village are you from in the south south
2) How did south south come into existence?
3) Are there Igbos in the south-south? If so who are they?
4) What else unites the south-south people outside of oil?

Right here and now can your substantiate your silly allegation of linking IPOB with violence?

A people who are barely existing and are at the mercies of illiteracy, abject poverty and squalor cannot dictate to another how to live their lives!

So far in all these years of existence IPOB has conducted its affairs including protests peacefully including seeking the necessary international recognition and process for self-determination.

https://www.nairaland.com/2780954/biafra-oeas-demands-snap-referendum

Over the decades the marauding herdsmen have been ravaging your land and killing your people for fun. How many threads have you and your lots created on NL to register your protest against such dastardly acts?

How many of your kinsmen dare challenge the marauding herdsmen for wieding ak-47?

What efforts have your elites put in to counter the hate speeches in mosques and the unconscionable, cold-hearted waste of human lives and reckless destruction of means of livelihoods going on in the North for decades?

Can you show such credible evidences where you and your people rose in unison to condemn the dastardly acts, especially by your masters, going on for many decades now unabated?

See where your masters have turned the BRT lane into a federal grazing corridor:

It's only hypocrites that come online feigning ignorance and subtly supporting the evil of the day while indeed they are ravenous wolves in sheep clothing who commit worst crimes than what they accuse others for.

That your folks rarely stand for anything should not be an excuse for you to come in the public to castigate Igbos for seeking to have a separate existence. You shouldn't expect Easterners to follow foolish ways of delusion.

Take your miseries to OduaArewanistan republic where you're most needed as loyal subjects.
Thank you for that wonderful response

Oh really? Which NASS did Lord Lugard go to when he was creating Nigeria? You are asking people to seek a political solution to Biafra while endorsing the act of fraud that made you Nigerian. Everything you wrote above is nonsense. Even if a Biafran secessionist party party won every political position in the SE/SS zone and went to the National assembly to demand a referendum, the North and their SW allies will vote it out with their much larger combined vote. So going down this route is pure stupidity. It iis funny that someone will be laying conditions for leaving Nigeria yet the same Nigeria was created with nobodies permission. As for the the incident in Abia, it had since been debunked by the Abia state government.
Hallelujah for your life.....they think we are stupid.

Christopher, thank you for such a wonderful thread.

I have have opened threads in the past where I asked direct simple questions like you are doing and all "One nigerianists" do is that they "Peep and Run". Even when they decide to respond, their reponse is full of accusations and insult and has nothing to do with the question you asked.

The problem with "one Nigerianists" is that they know that IPOB and Biafrans are constantly providing rational, empirical, and superior points on the need to separate. If it wasnt coming from biafrans, they will agree with it 100% because it just makes sense.

But fear of an uncertain future in Nigeria and blind hatred makes them (one nigerianist) support something that is not working.
PoliticsRe: Godswill Akpabio Speaks On Biafra War, Asks Pertinent Questions by Emancipation: 4:07am On Apr 23, 2016
The biggest mistake Ojukwu made was thinking he was fighting a war with Nigeria. The war was technically between Biafra, Britain and Russia with Egypt on the side line.

It is like in a boxing match when you are preparing to fight with a middle weight challenger but all of a sudden two other HEAVY weight champions joins the ring to fight you and you are getting punches from all corners...lol. At the end the middle weight champion keeps bragging about how he beat you.

The Biafran war symbolizes the era when Igbos lost the level playing field forever in Nigeria. For Igbos dreaming that nigeria will level the playing field and allow meritocracy...dream on.

One day, my grandchildren will come back from school and ask me questions about a country they learnt in history class. They will say "Grandpapa, what is Nigeria?" "How did such a crazy country exist" and I will look at them in their innocent eyes and say to them "you are blessed to be born in the land of the rising sun"

yes it will. the herders wont move cattles about anymore and its good news for everyone
So here is what will happen next,

1) The Fulanis will settle there and start having children. possibly with locally kidnapped women or other northerners

2) Those children in 20 years will grow up and claim that the land belongs to their ancestors just like they did in plateau state.

3) Fight will begin between those Fulani children and the local community.

4) Federal government will step in and split the community in half for peace and give to the fulani descendants what doesn't belong to them.

5) With their newly gained power, they will start fighting for political power and dominance of the area.

Everything I just wrote has already happened before so NOBODY can say that I am making this up.

These days you hear people say 'Nigeria will be great again'...emphasis on AGAIN. Has Nigeria ever been great before? look at just a few occurrence in the past that shows we have never truly achieved greatness.
1.The first republic(Balewa's govt) was overthrown for massive corruption. Politicians were highly corrupt then.
2.Aguiyi Ironsi was overthrown 6 months after becoming head of state in what look like ethnically motivated
3.Gowon's govt was overthrown by Murtala Mohd for failing to meet the expectation of the Nigerian people.
4. Murtala was overthrown and assassinated 6 months after coming to power.
5.Democratically elected govt of Shagari was overthrown by Buhari for corruption
6.Buhari was overthrown for insensitivity of the diversity of the Nigerian state and lack of essential commodities
7. Babangida instituted corruption and suffering through SAP
8.Abacha stole all the money.
9. Obasanjo did fairly well but did not follow due process and rule of law.
10.Yaradua then Turai held the country to ransom.
11. GEJ did not exert himself and allowed stealing and Boko haram manace to thrive.
12. Buhari hit the ground and remained there...

so when has nigeria been great, i honestly want to know.

2) Nigeria has always been against Igbo political integration back into Nigeria.

3) Biafra is not a laughing stock> It is the opposite. IPOB has foreign members. In fact, leader of southern cameroon movement is discussing alliance

BILIE is not IPOB. Infact IPOB is in conflict with BILIE.

http://247ureports.com/bilie-human-rights-initiative-has-no-mandate-and-as-such-does-not-represent-the-indigenous-people-of-biafra-ipob-by-uche-mefor/
This is what BILIE said on their official website: http://bilieforbiafra.org/bhri-and-ipob/

UNDERSTANDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BILIE HUMAN RIGHTS INITIATIVE AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA:

"The Solicitor for Indigenous People of Biafra, Emeka Emekesri, Esq., created the name “Indigenous People of Biafra” in 2011 and constituted the remnants of the Biafrans who were not consumed in the war into a body that could file action for self-determination. The acronym “IPOB” was created by Dr Dozie Ikedife in 2013. As the body could not be registered in Nigeria, it became a non-legal entity which could only sue or be sued in a representative capacity. The Solicitor therefore registered the human rights organization called Bilie Human Rights Initiative to sue on behalf of Indigenous People of Biafra. Thus, in the eyes of law, the only legal entity standing in Court in the Suit No FHC/OW/CS/192/2013 as Claimants representing Biafra is Bilie Human Rights Initiative. The beneficiaries of the action are the Biafrans while the human rights organization is their legal representative. The current President of Bilie Human Rights Initiative is Engr Innocent Obinna Amadi."

How did governor obiano attract $4.1 billion investment within 2 years? He simply focused on attracting local/indeginous investors. Foreigners have no loyalty and will leave with their money the moment things get tough
