............You look at Jonathan and you can see deception on display. You look at Jonathan and you can see green snake under the green grass. You look at Jonathan you can see a man full of deceit......................

........... He(Jonathan) is the one behind this Boko Haram menace for political reason. According to General Sani Abacha, "no insurgency in a country is planned to last a month. If it lasts a month, the head of the government of that country is behind it," i.e government has the means and power to crush any insurgency that springs up in a short period of time the insurgency starts but if it continues unchecked, the government is behind it for its own gain.

..........It is on records that Jonathan visited the creeks without security on many occasion as Deputy Governor and Governor of Bayelsa State. He also visited the creek during Yar'Adua administration few times without security details.

.....The man (Jonathan) has never fulfilled any promise or agreement with anyone in his life. How do you trust a man with a wife at home who has four children from four other women?................
........... A desperate man always make stupid mistakes..........

......When it is all said and done, Obasanjo must take the blame for this mess.
You guys should make up your minds abeg.
Is Jonathan weak ,spineless and daft as you have all claimed from the day he became Acting President or is he a mastermind, bold strong and decisive .

My confusion stems from the fact that this write up attributes both personalities to him.

The problem I have with the APC folks is the arrogance in the notion they promote that this country can only be saved by one man...buhari.
I'd rather Nigeria collapses irrecoverably if it can only be saved by one man. That attitude of manifest destiny is ultimately destructive to the country. With that attitude a dictatorship is enthroned.

Upon serious reflection it just occurred to me that if Buhari saying he will bring the price of oil back up was an error, Lie Mohammed just confirmed how clueless the ACN is by claiming that Nigeria will increase its daily production of crude oil from 2.5Mbpd - 4Mbpd at a time when it has become obvious to all Oil producers that the only way to keep the price of oil from crashing completely IS TO NO FURTHER COMPOUND THE GLUT IN THE MARKET.KEEPING THE PRICES LOW FOR MUCH LONGER.

I REPEAT SOMEBODY IN GEJ'S MEDIA TEAM SHOULD USE THE MASSIVE POLICY DISASTER PROPOSALS THAT APC HAS INADVERTENTLY EXPOSED , TO RIP THEM A NEW ORIFICE.FAILING THAT,I AM COMPELLED TO BELIEVE THE ASSERTION SOMEONE MADE ON NAIRALAND NOT SO LONG AGO THAT GEJ'S MEDIA TEAM IS STEALTHILY SABOTAGING HIM.
I LOST COUNT OF THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES THAT THE BUHARI CAMPAIGN HAS PROVIDED BY WAY OF MIS-SPEAKS AND MIS-STEPS THAT THEY COULD HAVE SEIZED UPON.
NOT TO MENTION THE FAILED OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE CLARIFICATIONS ON THE PRESIDENTS SPEECHES .GEORGE Bush made pretty horrific off the cuff statements relating to any number of issues in his time that earned him all sorts of names some even called him clueless, but his aides were always up to the task to make clarifications.

Maybe na only you want fight o... grin

You're making a gross miscalculation here this boy.

The militants have stuffed their pockets and have too much to lose. These are multi billionaires. None of them has the appetite for a sustained guerilla warfare.
Even the average Nigerian from the Niger Delta views those militants with scorn because of the chop alone syndrome.

A few skirmishes here and there, and capiche. Watch how things will unravel. Go and ask.
You seriously mistake the nature of the coming conflict.
The target of the militants will be to frustrate ,sabotage ,cripple and stop production altogether NOT CONTROL PRODUCTION OR PROFIT FROM IT.
I already have a vision of what a few RPGs ,SA-missiles, hit and run raids on flow stations and terminals will do.

I once saw maps of Nigeria detailing pipeline locations, routes and products within the Niger-Delta and beyond in the hands of a ruffian do nothing but wealthy individual(I no call am militant ooh).
For the militants, the aim is to ground everything to a halt using surprise raids attacks, incessant attacks on especially GAS then product pipelines supplying Areas outside the ND attacks on power transmission lines from the power stations within the ND .
The target Nigeria's economy not human lives.
The military at twice it's current capacity will have a hell of a time protecting these facilities.
Let me as you a question, how do you protect a gas pipeline that runs for about six hundred kilometers (350km in the N.D alone) from sabotage attacks at random locations and times ?
How do you protect the power lines that run for far more distance than the pipelines?
You only need a few dedicated say 100 people well funded well trained specialists not an army of millitants like. boko haram.Do not kill indiscriminately and if avoidable,do not cause oil spills that damage communities.Do not oppress communities .......
..a number of rules adhered to and you have if not the support of the zone, you have their understanding and no hostilities from them.
The end result,of only focusing strikes on just these two major economic and energy jugular arteries Out of the many things the militants have demonstrated that they could do and have actually done from time to time before?(use your imagination).
Dark times await.

I just want Nigeria to win but the things that I have heard , seen and known are frightening.
Making the country "ungovernable is a playbook" that has unfortunately been copied from the north and modified if not escalated.
PoliticsRe: Its A Disgrace For Neighbours To Join Boko Haram Fight - Buhari by EMANY01(m): 10:31am On Feb 07, 2015
I'm going to be really mad if the publicity handlers of GEJ do not take up the gauntlet that buhari has thrown and engage him on this statement.
Like someone pointed out earlier in this thread ,as powerful as the US military is, the US has sought the cooperation of Iran in their fight against Isis.
For years Boko haram has caused carnage in the north east and afterwards run to safety in Chad Niger and Cameroon.
Short of declaring war on those countries Nigerian forces could only chase them to the borders.
Only when the larger threat posed by boko haram became evident did they begin to see the need for cooperation.
Buhari allowing the political conditions and political considerations of 1982 where he commanded the invading force against Chad and went beyond outlined objectives to dominate his thinking does Nigeria a great disservice .
The lesson that the conflicts/near conflicts in the last century and the subsequent rapprochement between the countries with issues in this century has taught any student of international relations ,is that even for former or even current enemies, engagement ,cooperation is the best way to go.
Examples abound: china / US ,US/Russia, China / Russian , Japan / china ,India/China ......i could go on and on each of those examples are countries that are currently at odds but still cooperating on mostly economic but even political and military levels not minding that some of these countries have forces dedicated to building the capabilities to fight and possibly vanquish the other should the need arise.

I liked Fashola even though I thought that his "achivements" in Lagos were for show.
I believe that with the resource that Lagos has (its population) ,Lagos could have been so much better than it is.
A Fash as his own man could have done better but his subservience to tinubu cleared that.
I am not an irrational Anti-APC person.
My grouse is with the Zoning of the presidency to the north.
I have nothing against core northerner's as I grew up with a lot of them but their elite have committed atrocities against southerners post civil war,so much and for so long that keeping them out of government for at least three to four terms after Obassonjo would have been good for Nigeria.
The south has once again allowed the core north to claim maximum benefit from a problem that they created (boko haram) and consistent with our history,we in the south have yet again allowed it.

MAYOWAAK:
Looking at the bigger picture; a Buhari Presidency may end up being a prescription that would produce more grievous ailments:
The Niger Delta and other parts of Nigeria would simply become the new theatre of strife, as is expected, while Buhari can manage the visible BH menace, he would by the same token be in a disadvantaged position to manage the latent but ever-present Niger Delta Militancy.
If Gen Buhari is elected President, successfully appeasing or gaining Boko Haram complimentary cessation of activities could be possible (though the chances are very narrow)
On the other hand, a Buhari President, all things being equal, could have grievous implications for Nigeria; there is a very high probability of a resurgence of hostilities by Niger Delta Militants
The terrible edge the Niger Delta militants have is that they hold Energy Resources and the Economy as tools of bargain………..very important tools needed to finance a war, gain sympathy and international friends and alliances!
And then we would see how the 54 trillion naira budget will be funded.
Some people will jump in to say that Lagos has managed fine, without FG oil money. This view point is based on the popular LIE but urban legend all the same that claims that Obassonjo witheld Lagos allocations for just about two and a half years (they claim three and half) and Lagos did not falter but increased its internal revenue. The TRUTH is that only the Local government funds were withheld. Also additional revenue came from business that service the nexus center of the oil industry.
Like it our die there is a thread running through those companies in. Lekki,Ikoyi,VI,Ikeja,ETC and the oil industry.
Deny that fact all you want it still doesn't change it.
Run a hypothetical scenario where oil exports drop to ten percent of current value and tell me what the long term prospects will be for business tied by oil money and consequently Lagos as a whole.

There is nothing so bad, so misleading and so naïve than when an ignorant person purports to make an argument out of an issue that is beyond his level of reasoning. This is what the O.P just did with his post on the number of years GEJ has spent in office. We can always forgive him because of one thing- his was plainly ignorant as he couldn't grasp the gist of his assertion. The presidency is an institution in NIgeria. In fact it is the foremost executive institution in the country. Our constitution stipulates that the president is the leader of the executive arm of government which is also reffered to as the presidency. The relevant sections of the constitution also did stipulates that the vice president should act on the absense of the president or any other time he couldn't perform his official duties. The verb 'act' needs a little clarification here as it is misleading when subjected to its everyday uses. Acting, therefore, within the context of our constitution simply means whenever the president for some reasons couldn't perform his official duties. The acts of the acting president is legally valid as he is now the leader of the presidency which is the foremost executive body in the country. The bills he signed into power are seen as the laws of the country even when the president resumed his duties later on. But in our case, the late yaradua never did. GEJ was quickly sworn in as the president and picked Sambo when yaradua died. He stayed in office till the last general election was conducted which he won convincingly to become the president. In summary, GEJ has spent more than four years in office so 0P learn how to get your facts before you run and post unintelligent post on a public forum like this.
You know all you said does not change one simple fact.
Goodluck Jonathan prior to February 10th 2010 had no power to act in an executive capacity save for whichever power/authority the president gives him per the constitution.
That authority was never given by the previous president to the then vice-president until the National Assembly invoked the now famous "doctrine of necessity" on February 10th 2010 which counted to the 14th of February 2015 is maths even you can surely do.

Dunno if I should call this epistle rubbish, hogwash, nonsense, hocus-pocus or balderdash!
Don P
If I recall correctly you once identified yourself as an man.I know your first reply would be to say that you are a Nigerian first before Edo that is well and good as am i a Nigerian first before a Delta man .

I tell you today that as a geographical region Buhari emerging president will be regretted over the course of time.

The situation between the core north and the rest of Nigeria vis-a-vis the middle belt,is similar to the interplay between the United States ,Russia(formerly the USSR) and the Baltic states (formerly satellite states) in the years after the cold war.

The US and Western Europe have always known and feared the power within the clenched fists that the Soviets(later the Russians) had up.But the former soviet satellite states who were caught in the grip of those fists, recognized when the grip got weaker because they felt it.

Like Russia today, the core north can feel their dominant grip on and control of Nigeria (sphere of influence in the case of Russia hence their recent activities in Georgia,Ukarine and surroundings) ebbing.

We as southerners still differ to the north in almost every thing, the middle belt who have been emasculated by the core north for the entire history of this country (except for the civil war period), until 1999 now have a voice and identity of their own.

Another term or two out of the presidency, and Nigeria would have evolved structurally and politically, that even when the core north gets back in power, those changes will be impossible to reverse.

To be clear, i haven't conceded a GEJ loss at the election but if GEJ does loose I sincerely hope that he loses in a free and fair election.
It would be a culmination of his legacies :the fact that Nigerians can make/and made a choice and he accepted that decision.

Even the supposed freest and fairest election of June 12 1994 which I was privileged to witness (as a young teen) would never compare to this.

The milestone would become all the more obvious because as I said earlier, this would be the last free and fair elections the country will see in at least a decade.

celebration. So too the S-west. There is a mourning spirit
pervading the S-East and S-South and parts of North

Gen. Buhari is being sworn in as president, Fed Rep of
Nigerian.
* Buhari, upon assumption of power announces a major
probe into MDAs since 1999. Massive jubilations rent the
North, and SW. With efulefus too...
* Buhari sacks all services chiefs and security heads.
Replaces all with mostly Hausa-Fulani folks. The North
hail endlessly. The SW hails too, but in a lower tone. The
SS/SE are silent, save for the efulefus among them
celebrating cautiously...
* Buhari orders immediate relocation of all amouries in
the South back to the North, calling Obj and GEJ
"outlaws" for moving amouries away from the North.
Jubilation in the North, SW jubilate half heartly...efulefus
celebrate nervously...
* Buhari declares war on corruption. Reverses the
privatization of PHCN, claiming it was fraudulently sold
off. North roars in joy, SW murmur, efulefus smile about
nervously...
* Buhari cancels second Niger bridge project, citing it as
one of Jonathan's corruption based projects. North
explodes in joy, SW scratch their heads, SE/SW mourn
deeply, efulefus now confused.
* Buhari suspends all upgrade work at Calabar/Onne
seaports, citing corruption in the award of the contracts
and also that the ports are a conduit for insurgents to
bring in arms into the N-Delta. Now the efulefus begin to
grumble silently...the North rejoices...
* Fulani herdsmen kill thousands in night raids in the N
central. Christian militias retaliate at once. Buhari orders
a nation-wide revocation of all firearms licenses, sends
soldiers and police on door to door search for firearms,
whether licensed or not...Observersnote these raids are
all in the N central and Southern Nigeria.
* Reports of silent killings, esp of opposition politicians
keep coming in. The Buhari led FG denies complicity.
There is terror and deep fear in the land. Anti govt
activists and groups begin to mobilize against the
tyrannical govt.
* AIT,STV and Channelstv shut down by the Buhari led
govt for "instigating crisis" in the polity. The media
houses proceed to court, the court orders their
reopening at once, Buhari ignores the court orders.
* 2016 population census is done: Kano alone gets a
population of 35m, all the S-east states put together get
barely 36m. The SW states plus Lagos get barely 45m.
The day begins to break for the efulefus..
* Buhari bans the use of FaceBook and twitter in Nigeria.
Prescribes harsh jail terms of an IP is traced to any social
media site. Quarrels and disagreements spark off
between Osibanjo and Buhari. Hundreds of young
people are hauled into jail for Facebooking.
* MEND attacks oil pipelines, crippling oil production.
Buhari orders thousands of troops to crush them. Bitter
fighting breaks out in the N-Delta, leaders of the N-Delta
movement are arrested and executed without trial. Now
the SWest is silent...efulefus nowhere to be found...
* Buhari announces a major slash in Fed allocation to
states, citing the war in the N-Delta. Nigerians are furious
with the excruciating hard times, the FG explains that the
monumental damage done to the economy by decades
of military rule plus 16 years of PDP misrule cannot be
fixed in 4 years. Now the generality of Nigerians are
swallowing hard....
* IBB, GEJ, OBJ etc all rally together to form a common
front against Buhari's govt. Tinubu falls out with Buhari
and joins in the coalition. Buhari orders their arrest and
slams them into detention. Their lawyers proceed to
court to secure the freedom. All the court orders are
damned by the Buhari led govt.
* 2019 elections approach. More reports of silent
killings. The opposition parties are too afraid to
campaign or field a candidate against Buhari. Tinubu
charges NADECO to fight on hard against the
dictatorship of Buhari as they "gallantly" did against
Abacha. The S-East and S-South laugh at him, asking him
to go and tame the monster he unleashed from chain
unto Nigerians himself.
* 90% of the political parties adopt Buhari as their
candidate. All opposition leaders have fled the country,
some missing. Militants in the N-delta step up
operations, routing the army and advancing
Northwards. Thousands of volunteers join them, along
with other militant groups to push Buhari's forces off the
region.
* Buhari suspends Nollywood, declaring them a "source
of immorality"...Nigerians now are too afraid to resist.
Many journalists are arrested and detained for writing
against the govt.
* Brazil and Israel announce their support for the groups
fighting the FG. They provide support and logistics. Now
the FG gets real jittery. Inflation spirals out of control,
over 25m people displaced by the bitter fighting.
Looting, rape and robbery by both citizens and military
personnel become very high.
* A major mutiny occurs within the armed forces. A
nation-wide state of emergency is declared. Rumours of
the death of some past presidents in detention filters
out. A nation-wide state of emergency is declared. No
more elections. Year after year, the state of emergency
on the nation is maintained. The system grinds to a halt.
Buhari. Is accused of refusiing to lift the emergency state
so as to foist himself as president for life.
* The SE and SS declare independence from Nigeria. 14
nations recognize them. The FG calls it illegality of the
highest order...
* North Central declares independence.
* The FG calls for meeting of all "aggrieved regions" to
reconcile. None is interested.
Well, well peeps, welcome to my imagination! Do you
think these events lack bizarre possibilities? Personally, I
don't believe Nigerians have so offended the Universe to
deserve this.
So we can only avoid such scenarios by not bringing
such unto ourselves via our choices.
Think well, vote wisely...Peace.
I would have labeled your entire post a joke bit knowing what I know about the North and the attitude to power, your entire scenario or large parts of it are on course to happen.

The parts about the Hausa Fulani raids in the north central and stoppage (masked as reviews) of the calabar/onne,ibom ports actually is a script from the future.

My life, wellbeing and future is not dependant on the government whoever wins but in the event of a Buhari victory I guarantee all Nairalanders, that February 14th 2015 is the last free and fair elections to be held for at least a decade.
It's very likely that Nairaland itself would have been long gone by that time.
Only an act of GOD will shape a different timeline from the possibilities given here.

One man one vote anything else na cheating. With that said this talk sound like parables. I just believe that after 4years Gen. Buhari and his administration can look back and say he tried for electrification, security, and some other major infrastructure, I can't say the same for Mr johnatan. All those agriculture yarns and all those accomplishment wey person no dey see no make sense to me without affordable and steady power supply. Nigeria's problem go pass 20years to solve but this guy just laff laff play play six years like that. To come add insult to injury he come be ijaw wey me and them no fit see eye to eye as to per say their level never reach and e no go reach. Am not a bigot but Ijaw militants kill my very good friend wey happen to get job wey e qualify for inside oil company. And presido still open mouth say them no be terrorist on top of that say e know them. At the end of the day, bygone na bygone RIP bro. Gen. Buhari never open mouth defend boko devils. And all these yarns aside, Gen. Buhari qualify interms of integrity pass the guy. So feb. 14 2015 ni ike Chukwu, me one go thumb am for Gen. Buhari. And I hope say e win.
You speak based on your experience living in the south, based on my own experience as I lived a lifetime in the north,i maintain that if you vote Buhari and he wins, you will forever regret it.
Vote whom you want to vote shaa.No be politics go make us fight.
BusinessRe: Nigeria; With All Our New And Old Power Stations, What Is Wrong by EMANY01(m): 10:59pm On Feb 03, 2015
SHOPPERS:
Business researchers are welcome on board as we together dissect the problem of epileptic power supply in Nigeria despite the huge amount of money being spent on it.

Questions here for discussion
1. According to statistics, Nigeria needs only 12000 MW of electricity but we are only producing 4000MW. First, is the 12000MW the total required to power the whole nation including all the villages, industries and plants all across the nation? Or is it just an estimate of what we consume based on current tranmission to connected. I'm expecting that the amount is too little if we are actually moving towards the vision 2020. We should hoping for up to 40000MW like South Africa is currently having. I won't mind and I believe other Nigerians too won't mind if the Chinese feat of a 60000MW is in place in my dear country.

2. Electricity generation on a mass level is mostly done using Turbines through the use of Dams. Is it that Nigeria does not have a large enough dam to generate all our power supply or we are just lazy. Ethiopia will soon be generating 6000MW of electricity through a dam to be constructed on the blue Nile, with a budget of about 6.4B dollars. You can confirm that here http://unbonmotgroundswell..de/2013/06/a-possible-technical-solution-involving.html . China finished their own 22500mw capacity dam spending only 25billion dollars on it. You can confirm that here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Gorges_Dam . Can we build a new dam too, if so, where, for how much and within how many years? China spent close to 20 years on the project so I know that all what APC guys are talking about bringing huge transformation and that we will have light in few years is an unfounded fact.

3. A further research got me to the discovery that hydroelectric power using dams is not the best. In fact, the world is going against what Ethiopia is trying to do. http://www.internationalrivers.org/blogs/229/can-ethiopia-afford-the-grand-renaissance-dam . If not Hydroelectric power, then what?

4. We can build micro hydro power generators all across the nation. It only costs about $20000 per one at most. Confirm that here http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/micro-hydro-power-pros-and-cons/ . Why is the government not yet looking into this?

5. Just now during my research into this problem, I discovered that NigeriA has more than enough power stations to alleviate our power problems. Please read the list below carefully and add up the full running capacities of each. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Nigeria .

I'm sure it'll answer most of the questions above. What I'm still asking is, WHAT DAHELL IS WRONG! When we have power stations which are capable of giving us well over 15000mw of power at full capacity. A lot of the new ones are not yet operational, those operational ones are functioning at partial Capacity.

Please, help me wake up the minister in charge, the president and other concerned individuals.

We have more than enough! There must be something wrong somewhere.
Read up on the gas supply challenges as well as the inadequate transmission capabilities currently available.
These problems are being addressed but in the Nigerian environment take a bit longer than the normal.

Edited:But previous sentiment stands.

I was born and raised in the North ,me finding myself in the north at this time per that prayer is not a problem.
Most people up north those who have decided not to run are well aware of the coming storm and like many others are mentally and physically prepared to take the life of those who have will come to do them and their family harm.
They are armed and will not be culled like so many piglets.
My fathers generation depended on the government to protect them from those murderers and which has failed repeatedly with each failure worse than the last during crisis like these in the north.
My generation has decided that if they will die at the hands of these blood thirsty marauders, they will extract a high price for their lives.
They will kill as many of them that offer them that offer themselves.
They were ready for them three weeks ago during the Charley Hebdo magazine caricature protests.
They are still ready for them now and will be waiting for them before during and after the Elections.

What can you say for yourself if you think that was a bad prayer for me and my family then you sir are an accursed lier.

Many will tell unverified lies. Falsification, caricature and propaganda shall be on the increase.

Watch that you are not deceived.

If you need any clarification consult your subconscious mind.

Thunder fire your lies, how many megawatts did we generate in 1999, how many did gej meet there, how many are we generating today. Simple google search
how many megawatts did we have as installed capacity in 1999, how many did gej meet there, how much installed capacity do we have today?

For the last question, the answer is about 11500MW. I already mentioned why more than sixty percent of of installed generating capacity is still sitting pretty doing nothing.

Who will win will win (my existence is not tied either of candidates winning or loosing) e no reach to dey swear for people abeg.

No sane leader will make such a protest in secret. That's another sign of cluelessness and lack of leadership.

Your country was invaded by a foreign country (essentially an act of war) and the President does not condemn the act publicly or demand an apology - what signal does that send to other countries?

Do you know if its a bilateral operation between Chad and Nigeria?

Fool!

Ihovbor is 450MW and there are about 6 other power stations going on.

Ihovbor and geregu alone are 1000MW, talkless of trans amadi. Calabar, omotosho, etc

It's people like u that burst the gas pipelines to stop full capacity generation from these gas plants.
Most people do not realize that we have currently a total installed electricity generation capacity of 10,000 MW of which only about 4000 MW is online.
If the current challenges posed by gas supply, transmission lines are resolved, (and I know that work is going on at a furious pace) daily generation would reach about 11,000MW about three times current generation.
My worst Nightmare is that if Buhari wins,(God forbid ) most of the current work around building gas pipelines supplying the power stations and the transmission lines taking power from the stations are scheduled to be completed and commissioned within a year and half to two years at the current pace of work. They would be claiming credit for work already concluding before they were even elected/sworn in.
