Who is selling Bayelsa NUT Vehicles? I was in a Mechanic village in yenagoa, I saw this serviceable toyota corolla with NUT O2 BY the number was being removed and the NUT logo on the body was also being washed out, later they brought in another bus NUT 03 BY. The man who bought the came and was bragging about the cars that he will still buy more as he has been buying from others agencies. I felt bad because the cars would have been auctioned to some poor teachers and they will become car owners rather than tagging it scrap and make plans to sell it in a fraudulent way. I have noticed over time that once a president is elected in Nigeria especially from northern extraction, all this Alhaji, Malam and Northern elite will be scrambling for the elected leader's available daughters hand in marriage, eg yaradua, Abacha, Shagari and top northern governors since 1999. Please someone should correct me if I'm wrong on this..... |

Fuel Crisis: Funke Akindele rides bicycle to church By Abiodun Alade Star actress, Funke Akindele rode a bicycle to church on Sunday due to the fuel crisis in the country. This is according to her post on the social media. Nigeria has been brought to a virtual standstill by fuel shortages, caused by a row between the outgoing government and importers, as well as strikes by petrol tanker drivers and oil and gas workers. Despite being Africa’s biggest oil producer, petroleum products have to be imported to Nigeria because of a lack of functioning domestic refineries. The government keeps the price at the pumps below the market rate for consumers and pays the difference to importers and marketers. But they say they are owed $2 billion in arrears and have shut fuel depots until the balance is paid. The government maintains the money has been paid and the importers are holding the country to ransom by demanding losses from the slump in the naira currency caused by the global drop in oil prices. President Goodluck Jonathan, Monday, signed two bills into laws. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati told state House Correspondents that the two bills include the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015 and the Immigration Act 2015. It would be recalled that the Senate on May 4 passed the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015 into law. Among other things, the Act prohibits female circumcision or genital mutilation, forceful ejection from home and harmful widowhood practices. By the provosions of the new Act, it is an offence for a husband to abandon his spouse, children and other dependents without sustenance. The Bill also criminises battery and other harmful traditional practices. Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/jonathan-signs-two-bills-into-law/ |
Fraud case: Court clears Saraki stops police from inviting him MAY 20, 2015 : ADE ADESOMOJU 14 COMMENTS A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday cleared a former Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki, of any wrongdoing in a bank loan being investigated by the Police Special Fraud Unit since 2012. Delivering judgment in a fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by Saraki, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, ordered the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, from further inviting or arresting the former governor over the alleged bank loan. The court hinged its order granted on Wednesday on a legal opinion by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, that the allegations of wrongdoing against the former governor was baseless. The legal opinion of the Justice Minister was a response to the report submitted to him by the Inspector General of Police on Police findings in a complaint by Joy Petroleum Limited. Justice Mohammed also barred the agents of the IGP especially the operatives in the Special Fraud Unit from harassing, intimidating and breaching the fundamental rights of the former governor and his aides. The court held that any attempt to commence any further interrogation of Saraki over an issue already declared closed by the Minister of Justice would amount to a breach of his fundamental rights. Justice Mohammed said it would be unfair for Saraki to be subjected to further interrogation by police having been cleared of any wrongdoing by the AGF in the report police submitted to the minister for legal advice. The Judge said the court had no choice than to give effect to the legal opinion of the Minister of Justice that the complaints against Saraki were basless, unfounded and not supported with any shred of documentary evidence since he has no link with Joy Petroleum Limited, the complainant. The court also held that the police ought to have stopped any further harassment of the plaintiff since the AGF had officially written to the Inspector General of Police to discontinue the matter. Saraki had sued the Inspector General of Police before the court over series of letters of invitation extended to him to appear before the Special Fraud Unit for investigation on a bank loan resolved in his favour two years ago. In the suit, Saraki complained of undue harassment and intimidation on the part of Police and sought for protection of his fundamental human rights to justice and fair-play. The former governor sought court order to quash the invitation on the ground that he had two years ago been investigated and exonerated by the police report. alotofgrace:I remember blasting and abusing FCMB interviewers when I was searching for job in PH. After going thru the stress of writing their test, I passed and when I came for the interview the rumour was that the take home pay is 25k, when it's my turn I asked them to confirm and they said is 25k. Only God know wetin happen that day, I shouted at them coursed and abused them and tell them what they are doing is modern slavery and modern ritual (ogwu ego) they tried to calm me down but I refused when I finished raking I collected my cv tore it in their front and pour it on their table and left. Other people that came for same interview started complaining about my actions but I left the place and was pleased with my action. That was in 2010, this is 2015 and they are still being paid 25k. Mr. Nyesom Wike The Federal Government has requested the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to administer the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the Rivers State Governor-elect, Chief Nyesom Wike, on May 29, 2015. The request was contained in a press statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Abuja by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke (SAN). Adoke said the request became necessary because of the existing vacuum in the Office of the Chief Judge of Rivers State as well as the Office of the President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the state. He said the vacuum had made strict compliance with requirements of Section 185(1) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution under which Wike should be sworn in virtually impossible. The minister said in order to avert a likely constitutional crisis in the state on May 29 when Wike was expected to be sworn in as governor, he had requested the Bayelsa CJ to carry out the exercise in accordance with Section 185 (2) of the Constitution. He said the section provides that “the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office shall be administered by the Chief Judge of the state or Grand Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the state, if any, or President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the state, if any, or the person for the time being respectively appointed to exercise the functions of any of those offices in any state.” “The general public, particularly the government and people of Rivers State, are hereby invited to take note of this development and appreciate the fact that the invitation extended to the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to administer the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the Governor-elect of Rivers State on May 29, 2015 is in accordance with the Constitution and should therefore be respected by all and sundry,” Adoke added. I'm here to read the number of persons that will abuse GEJ, call him clueless and accuse him of last minute recruitment to cause trouble for buhari...... I took my time to go thru the profile of people who got the success message, to my greatest surprise 75% of them has called either GEJ or his policy one name or the other at one point or the other..... But now, non of them has said this clueless man has given us a clueless job, non has condemned the job offer and non even those that lost out has condemned the job offer. All I can say is God is watching all of you on HDTV. |
Thank you |
Fellow Nairalanders, I want to know the best way to handle this and also know if it will affect me in any way. I paid a lawyer to process my CAC registration but at the end when the documents came out I found an error in my names, Its supposed to be Salisu Muyiwa Chima but on the documents it bears Salisu Muyiwa Salisu. I want to know if it will affect me during opening account and FIRS registration because it's taking more than 4months and the lawyer is still giving me stories. Thank you |
In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude. The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics; Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; and The Yoruba Factor and “Area-boy” Politics. My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was ” Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors” published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. There was also an earlier publication in the weekly Trust entitled ” The Igbo, the Yoruba and History” (Aug. 21, 1998). The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention. When Buhari jailed UPN governors like Ige and Onabanjo, the South-Western press castigated that good government and provided the right mood for IBB to take over power. As soon as IBB cleared UPN governors of charges against them in a politically motivated retrial, he became the darling of the South-West. When IBB annulled the primaries in which Adamu Ciroma and Shehu Yar Adua emerged as presidential candidates in the NRC and SDP, he was hailed by the South-West. When the same man annulled the June 12, 1993 elections in which Abiola was the front-runner, the South-West now became defenders of democracy. When it seemed Sani Abacha was sympathetic to Abiola, the South-West supported his take-over. He was in fact invited by a prominent NADECO member to take over in a published letter shortly before the event. Even though Abiola had won the elections in the North, the North was blamed for its annulment. When Abdulsalam Abubakar started his transition, the Yoruba political leadership through NADECO presented a memorandum on a Government of National Unity that showed complete disrespect for the intelligence and liberties of other Nigerians. Subsequently, they formed a tribal party which failed to meet minimum requirements for registration, but was registered all the same to avoid the violence that was bound to follow non- registration, given the area-boy mentality of South-West politicians. Having rejected an Obasanjo candidacy and challenged the election as a fraud in court, we now find a leading member of the AD in the government, a daughter of an Afenifere leader as Minister of State, and Awolowo´s daughter as Ambassador, all appointed by a man who won the election through fraud. Meanwhile, nothing has been negotiated for the children of Abiola, the focus of Yoruba political activity. In return for these favours, the AD solidly voted for Evan Enwerem as Senate President. This is a man who participated in the two-million- man March for Abacha´s self-succession. He also is reputed to have hosted a meeting of governors during IBB´s transition, demanding that June 12 elections should never be de-annulled and threatening that the East would go to war if this was done. When Ibrahim Salisu Buhari was accused of swearing to a false affidavit, the Yoruba political elite correctly took up the gauntlet for his resignation. When an AD governor, Bola Tinubu, swears to a false affidavit that he attended an Ivy League University which he did not attend, we hear excuses. For so many years, the Yoruba have inundated this country with stories of being marginalised and of a civil service dominated by northerners through quota system. The Federal Character Commission has recently released a report which shows that the South-West accounts for 27.8% of civil servants in the range GL08 to GL14 and a full 29.5% of GL 15 and above. One zone out of six zones controls a full 30% of the civil service leaving the other five zones to share the remaining 70%. We find the same story in the economy, in academia, in parastatals. Yet in spite of being so dominant, the Yoruba complained and complained of marginalization. Of recent, in recognition of the trauma which hit the South-West after June 12, the rest of the country forced everyone out of the race to ensure that a South-Westerner emerged, often against the best advice of political activists. Instead of leading a path of reconciliation and strong appreciation, the Yoruba have embarked on short-sighted triumphalism, threatening other “nationalities” that they ( who after all lost the election) will protect Obasanjo ( who was forced on them). No less a person than Bola Ige has made such utterances. To further show that they were in charge, they led a cult into the Hausa area of Sagamu, murdered a Hausa woman and nothing happened. In the violence that followed, they killed several Hausa residents, with Yoruba leaders like Segun Osoba, reminding Nigerians of the need to respect the culture of their host communities. This would have continued were it not for the people of Kano who showed that they could also create their own Oro who would only be appeased through the shedding of innocent Yoruba blood. I say all this, to support Balarabe Musa´s statement, that the greatest problem to nation- building in Nigeria are the Yoruba Bourgeoisie. I say this also to underscore my point that until they change this attitude, no conference can solve the problems of Nigeria. We cannot move forward if the leadership of one of the largest ethnic groups continues to operate, not like statesmen, but like common area boys. iii.The Igbo Factor and the Reasonable Limits of Retribution. The Igbo people of Nigeria have made a mark in the history of this nation. They led the first successful military coup which eliminated the Military and Political leaders of other regions while letting off Igbo leaders. Nwafor Orizu, then Senate President, in consultation with President Azikiwe, subverted the constitution and handed over power to Aguiyi-Ironsi. Subsequent developments, including attempts at humiliating other peoples, led to the counter-coup and later the civil war. The Igbos themselves must acknowledge that they have a large part of the blame for shattering the unity of this country. Having said that, this nation must realise that Igbos have more than paid for their foolishness. They have been defeated in war, rendered paupers by monetary policy fiat, their properties declared abandoned and confiscated, kept out of strategic public sector appointments and deprived of public services. The rest of the country forced them to remain in Nigeria and has continued to deny them equity. The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have conspired to keep the Igbo out of the scheme of things. In the recent transition when the Igbo solidly supported the PDP in the hope of an Ekwueme presidency, the North and South-West treated this as a Biafra agenda. Every rule set for the primaries, every gentleman´s agreement was set aside to ensure that Obasanjo, not Ekwueme emerged as the candidate. Things went as far as getting the Federal Government to hurriedly gazette a pardon. Now, with this government, the marginalistion of the Igbo is more complete than ever before. The Igbos have taken all these quietly because, they reason, they brought it upon themselves. But the nation is sitting on a time-bomb. After the First World War, the victors treated Germany with the same contempt Nigeria is treating Igbos. Two decades later, there was a Second World War, far costlier than the first. Germany was again defeated, but this time, they won a more honourable peace. Our present political leaders have no sense of History. There is a new Igbo man, who was not born in 1966 and neither knows nor cares about Nzeogwu and Ojukwu. There are Igbo men on the street who were never Biafrans. They were born Nigerians, are Nigerians, but suffer because of actions of earlier generations. They will soon decide that it is better to fight their own war, and may be find an honourable peace, than to remain in this contemptible state in perpetuity. The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have exacted their pound of flesh from the Igbos. For one Sardauna, one Tafawa Balewa, one Akintola and one Okotie-Eboh, hundreds of thousands have died and suffered. If this issue is not addressed immediately, no conference will solve Nigeria´s problems. By Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Being Excerpts from A Paper Presented At The “National Conference On The 1999 Constitution” Jointly Organised By The Network For Justice And The Vision Trust Foundation, At The Arewa House, Kaduna From 11th –12th September, 1999.

There are different habits that may hinder a lady from getting married. But here, am not going to talk about “Habits”of a lady but rather about “Kinds” of Ladies, that faces late marriage and most times, No Marriage. Below are the Four kinds of ladies that faces late marriage and the answers that works : 1. The Perfect Lady : Here, the Perfect Lady do not imply that the Lady herself is perfect. But rather, their expectation of their dream man is too high that they kept being selective on the type of man that they want. Most times, the person they love may not like them, and the person that likes them, may not be their love. Those Perfect Ladies always want»»», A Tall, Rich, Caring& Handsome man and if the lady is spiritual, she will be waiting for “God’s Will”. Anyman that misses any of the Four qualities ends up being rejected. Their Problem : The problem such ladies faces is that they end up loving the “Container” instead of the “Content”. The Solution : Accommodate a man who posses atleast 50% of the qualities you desire, the rest will develop with love. 2. The Beautiful Lady : A beautiful lady is attractive to the eye. They are victims of multiple relationships. Most guys that dates beautiful ladies dates them for fun. The attractiveness of a Lady makes it difficult for her to keep herself for a man. This is because of temptation from men, knocking left, right and centre. Their Problem : The problem beautiful ladies faces is that no one really loves them for who they are but likes their beauty period. And men doubts their ability to make a good home. This poses a threat for them to marry cos most men considers a beautiful lady as a flirt. The Solution : Have a picture of the kind of man you really want to marry. You are lucky that yua beautiful, because you will get proposals from various kinds of men; so be ready to identify that man whom you like to marry. Be loyal to him. He will be proud to marry you. 3. The Rich-man’s daughter : The rich man’s daughter bask on the euphoria of her father’s wealth. As far as she’s concern, her father is her hero and no man can replace her fathers love and care. She believes that every man that is running after her is after her fathers wealth. So this makes them unattractive to men. Men are naturally proud and will not like to muddle their hard earned reputation on such an insult. Their Problem : Most rich men’s daughter marry late or marry the wrong man. The Solution : The Humility of a rich man’s daughter is her greatest weapon to attract men. Men will naturally be drawn to you, if you are humble. Your beauty is secondary. 4. The Career Woman : These ladies are hardworking, ambitious and successful in life. They may be feminist. They are the champions of this saying, “What a man can do, a woman can even do it better”. Marriage is not their headache but career. Their Problem : The problem of career women is time management. They run everything in life like business even relationship. Secondly, they always want to be the Boss in all things and this poses a threat to men. The more masculine a lady behaves, the less attractive she is to a man. No man wants to marry another man. The Solution : Every Career woman, cries in her closet. She prays for a man who will love and treat her like a woman. Your cry is over, woman! Simply be submissive atleast to a man. Avoid arguments with him. And be More feminine in your outlook. These are what you need to make a man , marry you. You can add yours
