In other words, have you any idea how many Nigerian policemen have given their lives to protect you and your family, and keep you safe while you sleep like a baby at night?

Do you know it runs into thousands?

Do you know it is those underpaid policemen you scorn, that are the ones blocking armed robbers from raiding your house tonight?

Can you do what they do? Patrol the streets at 3am, often with sub-standard weapons, looking for armed robbers to confront?

Look, Mr Man, we can criticise the police all we want, but we must never ever ignore or downplay the fundamental service they render to us, and the huge sacrifices they make. For that we are grateful.
