I totally agree with your first paragraph. A bad individual can gain votes of majority via emotion, religion or whatsoever. Getting the highest number of votes doesn't necessarily translate to having the best interest of them at heart.
I disagree with your last paragraph, no matter how nice the dictatorship, having the opportunity as an individual to be able to have a choice and say in who leads you means a lot.

There are reasons to be worried... Out of all the big clubs in the top five leagues, we performed the worst...
