We all know that lecturers in Nigeria are being underpaid. I know their plights. I'm currently undertaking my second degree, and my supervisor is a professor. I know how he and his other colleagues have been coping. With the look of things now, it seems ASUU is holding FG to ransom, which is not good enough. What ASUU is doing to the FG now, they(ASUU) will never accept that from students body.Just like what the FG is proposing, ASUU should return to lecture rooms while negotiation continues.

You don't know how embarrassing the salary of a Nigerian Lecturer is till you are filing a form to compete with academics around the world and on the form, you are to select your current salary. It is usually in dollars. Our salary range is usually not on the list. You have to state the dollar equivalent of your salary on the provided empty field named "others". It is not on the drop-down menu because an academic anywhere in the world is not expected to earn such a ridiculous salary.

When the Nigerian government knows the worth of their universities, the Professor's salary was next to the salary of the CJN. But today, ordinary tax collectors at FIRS earn higher than Professors. And the Ministry of Finance where there was more than N170bn for the suspended AGF to swindle is blabbing that a Professor cannot earn a naira equivalent of $3,000 and Nigerians are clapping. Tomorrow you will be asking why Nigerian Professors can't be like the Professors in Oxford. Are they treated like Oxford Professors?

When we are ready to make progress, there will be a call for a national conference with all the stakeholders in attendance to discuss "our idea of a Nigerian university system".

ASUU should reconsider their stand and suspend the strike. The FG is willing to accede to their demands once they return to lecture rooms.

They should keep on graduating. One day, Nigeria citizens would rise up and fight for their rights, just like what happened in Sri Lanka last week. I hope there would be protest votes in Osun State tomorrow.

ASUU, ASUU. Time will tell. I saw one of them boarding a public transport yesterday. This is a man that moves around in his car before this lingering strike.

Our professors want to become millionaires over night by earning 2M monthly. There is nothing bad in that. But they should consider the current state of Nigeria economy. The pay rise they are demanding now is not feasible, therefore, ASUU should be considerate and then work out a meaningful agreement with the FG.

North Korea is a pariah state because they are outcast in the international community. They will continue to lack international cooperation and no foreign investment in their country. If North Korea is that developing, as some of you are portraying it to be, why are its citizens defecting to South Korea and some other nations when ever they have the opportunity to do so. In addition, if North Korea is really doing well, why are they begging for sanctions to be lifted by the US? Your saviour, which is Russia federation will soon become a fully designated pariah state. Watch out.

If you watch the ASUU President's interview on ChannelsTV this morning, you will realize that Ngige is a perpetual lier, he lies more than Baba Lai himself
Ngige should present a document that shows that those officials recuse themselves (or were asked to, by ASUU) during the meeting?
Ngige is simply making himself more relevant than the Minister of Education, who actually should be the main actor in all these negotiations!

Well, I'm yet to listen to the latest interview granted by ASUU president or read about it. All I know is that both parties should be reasonable and act responsibly. This strike is killing and hellish.

To me, my concern is, why did ASUU asked the relevant government MDA's to recuse themselves from the renegotiation panel. Will ASUU pay itself? I think this should be our concern now.

I don't need to doubt the credibility of this write up, in respect of the actual situations on ground. I knew that ASUU are not being sincere when their president said the FG should sign an agreement without reaching collective bargaining agreement. ASUU should eat the humble pie and suspend this God forsaken strike, while negotiation continues.

We hope that president Buhari would do the needful at the Federal Executive Council meeting tomorrow.

As I said somewhere before, FG is taking the heat as ASUU is taking them by their balls, hence, they want end to this strike by all means!

I resigned from a job in Abuja in 2019 to pursue a master degree. Now,ASUU strike and corona virus almost ruined things for me.

No wonder the Chinese and the Indians are always at loggerheads.I never knew that the Indians are that strong in terms of military power.both countries keep heightening tension at their disputed border.

That's unfair.why would they do that to their African counterpart in far away Turkey.they should be their brother keeper.

That's what they are good at.to impregnate and to go on strike.

ASUU members keep forming KING KONG on empty stomach.At the end,you see them engaging in uber and taxify to survive.their penchant for strike is top notch.

As at 2019/2020 session in OAU,the fee is N240,000.00 for 2sessions(4semesters).in addition,you will pay N20,000.00 for acceptance fees.
