I'm Igbo and I agree with your post, but not entirely. You can call the Hausas anything but not LAZY.

Hausa/Fulani people are extremely hard-working
You deserve a bottle of cold origin for this.

OK now my simple question now is:why is it that the Igbo's are now blaming the whole yoruba tribe..!!
Lol
They say we are responsible. For bringing buhari to power.

They say we played the silent game during the biafra war.

They say we are cowards.

They say we are just puppets to the north ....

I think they think we are the cause of the problems betiding them

I wonder why it is so hard in Nigeria to even make it 6 years single tenure, the six geopolitical zone will get it turn,if it happen that president die in power one of the governor in his region will complete the remaining years while the next region get their turn.
Some region just want to rule Nigeria as they like and some people are looking for who is the greedy one, while we all know the greedy ones.
Lol!!!!
You say whahhuh
If a president dies a governor from his regionshould take over?
You must be kidding me.!!!

6 years bawohuh

Did you say they are lazyhuh
It's very funny how these same lazy people account for over 98% of local food crops eaten. In Nigeria today.

It's funny how more than 90% of the bureau de changers you find in Nigeria today are from these bunch of lazy people.

Brother,Northerners might be a lot of things but certainly not lazy!

Nonsense. How can you talk of having a 'perfect' life in an imperfect world? Even the Bible you people are citing sef is an imperfect, disjointed, inconsistent, confusing, compendium of texts. Lubbish.

Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi

I think we Nigerians are the ones to blame here. People like bobrisky and this dude don't deserve the attention they get on SM.

That being said, the bolded alone should tell you he's a moral misfit and as such doesn't understand what a family is or how the African family work. I can't take him serious whether speaking in favor of family values or against.
At the bolded: do You know with this you've totally failed a logical argument?

First, as much as you want to judge, his sexuality is absolutely none of your business.
Who are you to determine who is morally right and not to give a piece advice?

Didn't Christ say he who is without sin should cast the first stone?

At times I laugh at many so-called Christians.
It seems you forget what the holy bible says about sin.

Whether you lie, Steal, call your neighbour a fool, make unnecessary jokes, fornicate, are gay, you all are doomed for hell!

Yes! That's what the holy bible says.

So, except you're without any of this sin, please you're in no place to determine who is morally fit and not to give an advice.

And to the article, Alimi might have sounded harsh in. Conveying his message, put if you rea the article and took time to comprehend, you'll realise he's totally correct!

I an several people have taken time to summarise his CENTRAL MESSAGE.

Peace!

APC and Buhari should ensure that their handover note is ready by December 2017, because a strong coalition, inspired by sound ideology and principles, made up of patriots and driven by patriots across the length and breath of Nigeria and beyond is on its way to chase out those fraudsters that deceived our people in 2015 at all level. Nobody will be spared.

MODIFIED
contrary to the vanguard report, APDA is not an alternative for Markafi led PDP but instead it is a platform that seeks to install better leaders at all levels in Nigeria with the drivers cutting across various party after seeing that their present party is fraudulent and hopeless.

I am not clear. What about parents that are old and retired?
I think that's his point.
Parents after retiring should have a back up plan.
Get a small business or something to invest in. Humans can be very unreliable you know. And those kids you see as your retirement plan could turn their backs against you.
Not to talk of These days where it's common to label old parents witches and wizards.

So if your parents are suffering and you are financially buoyant, you will tell them this?
Did you read the write up at all?
If you did, then you didn't take time to assimilate what he said

In summary this Is what he said

"Parents should not totally rely on their kids to take care of them in their old age. They should have a back up plan."
"Whereas it is good to cater for your parents, do not let them get your mumu Button"

I hope you're clear now.

Culture › Towards A Better Nigeria: What Way Nigeria? by EmmanuelCena(op): 12:52pm On May 02, 2017
Let Us Put a Stop to Ethnic Bigotry.

Of late, I have come to notice the trend in which ethnic bigotry as gradually eaten deep into us, here on nairaland. At times, I begin to wonder if the way people hate online is the way they hate in real life.

While it is totally fine to air our opinions, it is very important that we try our best possible to do that without insulting others.

Sentiments (tribal sentiments inclusive) are a thing which cannot be separated from us humans. That notwithstanding, could be shown without public show of hate.

It is funny how we let the decisions of the elite class dictate how we treat our fellow Nigerians.
We seem to forget that "these elite class- the politicians and leaders -whose actions directly and indirectly, are the cause of our woes, know no tribe. We who are at the receiving end eventually play to their tunes and transfer that aggression on our fellow citizens. When we actually should hold them accountable.

A situation in which every single serious news posted for the purpose of information is ridiculed by carelessly tribalism isn't good enough.

It's good to joke, but a thing which started out as a joke has blown out of proportion.

We may not know this but, whether we think we are just joking around with these hateful tribal comments we make on nairaland, the outside world watches. They certainly do not understand our humor -they do not know when we joke and when we are serious- and will see us as a country full of hate among its citizens.

Hate would lead us nowhere. It will rather do more damage than has been done.

Let us say NO to hating on people because of their tribes.
It's high time we started holding individuals accountable for their actions, not their tribesmen.

Let us rise above hate.
God bless Nigeria.
Gracias.

From a concerned Nairalander.

TheLordIsGr8:
Spot on

That is the unfortunate situation Nigeria finds itself. More "laws" won't fix anything.

Checked by whom?
To whom would you entrust this mother of all sensitive task?
By what criteria would you select such a "de-tribalised" individual or machine?

Who gets to decide what constitutes "hate speech"?
Politicians? They're the most untrusted people on earth.
Religious leaders? hmmmm
Nairaland mods? tell me something. Have you ever been asked to swear to believe in allah to comment on certain threads?

You don't want to open that pandora's box because hate really resides in the heart, which you cannot see. Someone might make a very innocent comment which can be easily interpreted as hate speech, even though they may have no hate in their heart.

Take what happened at the grammys and oscars of recent as examples. Everything is being branded "hate" and "racist"

Better to let it play out on its own.
You can only make laws in an attempt to stop people from showing their hating, but you cannot stop them from hating. I am of the opinion to let it play out. So the day anyone decides to change it would be of their own volition.

I know this sounds like a defeatist argument but I cannot trust anyone to protect me against hate speech. Neither will you. That which you thinks protects you soon turns around and stings you in the ass while you're staring at the other.
Well said right there!

I really buy you views. Do not restrain anyone. Let each person exhibit their true self.

I was just calling for a paradigm shift in the way we as individuals reason.
Let each person check himself and restrain himself.

Having to swear to believe in the oneness of Allah before commenting on islamic threads really got me!
It's totally uncalled for, and Seun shouldn't allow such.
Anyway, it's his business. He's allowed to run it whichever way he seems fit
